There kind of is one like that that she posted a year or two ago, except she uses the roommate feature.
I was thinking how fun it'd be to do a rags to riches landlord. Start with literally nothing and eventually get enough money to like build your first small apartment then keep upgrading them from there. I do hope that it works similarly to City Living apartments where you can't see into another Sim's apartment until you enter their door. Considering that functionality is already there, I'd assume that's how it'll work.

I hope she builds a hotdog hotel and using the new stuff pack chef hustle and the will-so-new for rent pack and be a landlord with selling hotdogs and luring them to live in his stinky,moldy with thieves complex [dont mean to insult just a fan-fun rags to riches]

the sim gurus confirmed on twitter that we will be able to convert current builds into apartments! they even encouraged prebuilding apartments and editing them later if we’re too excited. im hyped.

I have a feeling to make an apartment will literally just be using the Room Tool just slightly different. So you'd go in to any build you already have, outline an apartment, and it sets it as an apartment. The funny thing is this style of thing was shown off in the Project Rene videos with how the multiplayer will work there.

@@Yeah_You_ThoughtIt might be, but you'll still need the Room Tool bit I mention to outline what area is an apartment. They talk about having like in-law suites and everything which typically are connected to houses with a door but considered a different 'apartment'. Hence why I hope that tool is a thing so you can still have like all the apartments connected together but also have common areas.

When the pack releases, you should make opposite apartments/townhouses! For example, one apartment is very maximalist and cluttered with plants and such while another is minimal and modern, etc!

I hope tenants will move in/out and do things to furniture. Similar to how like roommates and dorms work. They'd be able to bring their own stuff, take out stuff you put in, etc. Then when a tenant would move out you have to go in and clean it or pay someone to do it.

That’s such a great idea! I would love to see Kayla build a 6 unit apartment and furnish each one differently. I feel like that would be a good challenge for her but she could do it really well

Cats thinking we're their kittens is just bloody adorable.
Cats, and dogs, are creatures of habit. If you typically go to bed at a certain time that will become their schedule too and so they'll start yelling at you to do it. What's funny is when they do like Snap does and kinda takes a quick nap with you then just leaves. My dog is like this. At night he'll want to sleep with me just for like 10-15minutes then he'll get up and move to like the bottom of the bed and stay there for a while then he'll get up and go somewhere else to sleep (usually with someone else in the house).
My cat does the same thing, he hates when I stay up late because he just wants to go to sleep with me 😂
That is so wholesome

Ok but this for rent pack could definitely be one step closer to having hotels in the sims and then maybe also the expansion of being able to have multi business lots and actually being able to live at your business as well. Hopefully this will be the case!!

Yes! I agree. I'm also on console so it's nice being able to download her stuff without worrying about cc
At least Sims handles it well and if you try to download something that has CC it just simply erases it. So you can easily still get the building and replace the things that were deleted. What I like is that she doesn't use the TOOL mod.. I hate seeing the houses people build using that because it causes so many gameplay issues usually so the house doesn't even work.. like sure it looks nice but if it doesn't work, what's the point?

The Sims team making lots that have up to six units of apartments REALLY opens up the possibility for hotels in a future expansion. You could easily make a hotel room with that same tool.
I'm almost curious if the holiday rental properties will be possible to split into units with this pack. I doubt it but it would be such a simple way to set up a makeshift hotel
@@flippanties No, if it's the Sims, the vacation rental lot designation and the features of this expansion will likely be two different things.

I have to say, I appreciate Simsie admitting that it IS a “waste of time” because I was personally wondering if she’d go back and make these playable or just move on and make new ones. I think Simsie, that you could potentially use these premade apartments to make a tutorial for people though! If it is a bit complicated when the pack comes out then it could be useful to produce a tutorial to help others understand how to section off separate living areas!
It very likely will just be the Room Tool just slightly different in function. The room tool is literally you just outline a room and it'll set it as a room. I don't see why apartments would need anything drastically different. You'd essentially outline the "lot" for the apartment and it's done.

@theeverythingkid it's been stated by the simgurus last week, and they posted a video. You can have up to 6 units, each housing a max of 8 sims, unless you use a cheat that will let you have more
This news all SOUNDS great but I am deeply worried about how well this will actually function in game- knowing the Sims 4’s track record, I fear this pack will just be a laggy and unoptimized mess
my theory for the apartment-marker-tool (name is a work in progess) is the it'll be like the wall tool and you draw the outline of the apartment, there could also be a mini menu with it to count the number of appartments. The sim gurus also said about updating previous builds which makes more sense if the apartment-maker-tool is similar to drawing a wall/room
Love this mini series, these apartments are gonna be so fun to play with! Also I do prefer the builds with loads of packs, I might be a minority but I just love the variety 😍
Kayla I SWEAR we will NEVER get bored of you talking about your cats!!! This whole video I was constantly going "AAAAWWW" and my heart was overflowing with the adorableness of these little stories and I miss having cats of my own so it's just nice to listen to anecdotes about them

I'd almost guess that they'll be something that functions like the flooring tool that you use to draw out the apartments (without it actually affecting the flooring of the build).
we're not wasting time with these build, merely practicing on what we know and what exactly would our style be for the pack. :D

14:03 Girl cats' love language can be so sweet - they're often much more reserved, less cuddly than males, but they're so discreetly cllingy it's adorable. Like, they twist their little bodies into all kinds of odd concave shapes to avoid being pet, but then sit with you for hours (in a safe distance, back turned, God forbid anybody sees them ahowing affection :D :D)
I personally love that you don't use custom content and just sims items! One of the reasons I like downloading your builds in the sims 4 is that I feel like you always keep in mind the playing aspect of your builds. Some builders make beautiful lots but they are not always as functional to play with.
I dare you to build a base game build that almost *exclusively* uses that horrible magenta swatch on everything lol
you can convert all of your previous 'fake' builds to real ones really easy too! (or so ive hered) honestly, this is the first pack since i joined in 2021 I am really really REALLY! exited about!!!!!!

What I NEED in CAS: not just filter hair by length or texture, but by if the hair has fringe/ bangs or not. If my Sim has bangs I don't want her to suddenly not have them in a updo. 😅
A retirement community apartment thing would be cute! Just apartments for all the elderly, and nice community space for them to mingle, with rocking chairs, knitting, crafts, painting, chess, a community garden… I think I’m going to do this! So many possibilities! I’ve been waiting on building my own apartments for so long!

Hello Kayla! I love listening to your cat updates cause I also have a 12 year old cat. Whenever she hears your voice in the screen, she sprints and watches the video sitting next to me😂 I don’t even know if she understands anything but she stares to the screen so deeply I just assume she understands that you also love cats. By the way you can build as many apartments as you’d like, me and my cat will watch anything you post

They should keep it pretty close to something they already created for the multi front doors thingy. Since sims is so old now it's probably easiest to keep that kind of organization under the "set front door/ set unlocked to/ set locked for" action. Or a placard like the no shoes indoors sign in snowy escapes. They most likely will make it like the townhouses in America where the landlords is at the start of the street and gets all the mail to their house where you gotta retrieve it.
I love listening to you talk about Snap and Shrimp cause it reminds me of exactly how my cats act, Hunter (9 years old female) is super chill but does the exact same as Snap and Otto (almost 2 years male) is super clingy and will be practically on top of you all the time. It’s nice to know that the cats are so similar lol
I'm so curious to see if this new pack will blend well with tiny living. I'd love to have multiple units that can qualify as any of the small house sizes individually, even if everything on the lot combined would exceed those limits. Like a duplex where each unit is 100 tiles kind of stuff.
I find it amusing that I've already included 4- and 6-unit apartments/condos in my world, yet somehow never considered adding duplexes or townhomes. It's like they slipped my mind, but now I realize they could be a great addition! Now if they could only do this with restaurants.
I wish the sims would do like a huge base game update where they completely go over all thr CAS and the Build & Buy stuff to have some more natural swatches and more items, also i love your videos kayla, im currently watching the nightmare legacy from the begin again and it so good

you describing shrimp is very similar to my own male kitten who basically wants to crawl up into your arms 100% of the time. i guess the difference is that ollie is much more interested in getting up in your lap while your using the bathroom then playing in there but STILL. your kitties sound so sweet eeeee!

Since the announcement I have learned a lot about different types of dwellings. Going through all the worlds, thinking (or building) different homes for each.
Snap does the same thing my Sonny boy does! He will try to get me to follow him to my bedroom just so he can sleep knowing I’m right there. And if I don’t go to bed, he’s on the couch or on the floor or my ladder step stool in the kitchen, wherever I am. I love hearing your kitty stories!! And this apartment is absolutely adorable!

if i remember right, the sims team said the railing update was just the first fix of hopefully more as they figure out how to just have the railing one one side and not two when one side is against a wall! it's obviously glitching a lot, but they're still actively working on it!

I know simsie talks about not wanting to have CC to make her builds accessible but I wonder if she would enjoy doing like a CC sunday, or something where she can go all out with whatever CC she wants with out having to worry about it. almost like a creative outlet. it's probably not worth it for the amount of work she would probably have to do on the backend (linking, downloading, undownloading) but I thought I would mention it because I think it would be cool to see (and if she ever feels the urge to do so then she knows that it's something at least one person would love to see)
I was expecting 4 units or less, because it's very similar to how apartments worked in Sims 2, 4 often feels like 1.5 or a sidegrade from 2, and in TS2 apartments had no upper limit on units per building but did have a maximum of 4 playable households per apartment, so I'm pleasantly surprised that we got more than 4 units.

Hey Kayla, I just wanted to let you know that the railing glitch with the stairs is most likely being caused by the fence on the same side at the top or bottom of the stairs! Even when the fence is just touching the stairs it seems to cause an issue. It's super annoying but I've found that it usually fixes itself when I delete that fence and use a half wall instead.

I have an lot in one of my saves, with a apartment building i tried basing off the apartment i live in. This might be the first pack I'll buy on console.

FWIW, Sim Guru Nova explicitly said to start pre-building (over on Twitter). Apparently it’s easy to convert existing lots into a Residential Rental lot!

My cat stays with me until I go to sleep. Then goes and does whatever she wants. And when it comes to me going to different rooms, she always keeps an eye on my movements. If I'm in the bathroom, she wants to be there too. So you are not alone in that scenario.

I really want to know if we can have mixed type lots at all. I feel like probably not, or at least don't want to expect it/get my hopes up. But would love to have like a combo cafe + living above, like it can often be irl. Can sort of fudge it with Dine Out and Get to Work, having a living space for sims if they own the building (though they still have another home lot/pay taxes on it). But would really like to see it more integrated/be able to use one of the "living spaces" in For Rent for a different lot type. I just am expecting that this isn't feasible. Still excited for the options in the pack, though!
my railings get almost exclusively messed up when there is a fence attached to the railing, if i dont have a fence connected the railing works fine for me

11:36 Aww, my mom's dog does that with her. He doesn't scream at her, he's a very soft silent boy but he will wait for her in bed and try to get her to come to bed when he gets tired. He's old now so it gets earlier and earlier.
Sometimes she's away for several days and initially she asked me to sleep in her bed so that he isn't freaked out. I find it really uncomfortable sleeping in someone else's bed tho, so now I just make sure there's a soft light burning in her room, that the room is a comfortable temperature and his favourite pillow is there and all that and then I bring him inside there and leave the doors open so that he can come to me if he needs anything. Such a momma's boy hehe
Talking about the cats is so relatable, my cat follows me to the bathroom and will sit in the sink and watch me if I am using the bathroom but it I am in the shower I gotta make room because she’s coming in with
This is basically the only TS4 pack I've ever been exited about. One thing I WISH will be a thing, but most likely not, is to be able to have apartments above funtioning shops, restaurants, clubs etc. So you can both be the annoyed upstairs neighbour or the owner living above.
I was thinking for the doors that you would click on it and set it as like front door 1 and then front door 2 & 3 depending on how many apartments you have
Super cute apartment. I need to get the Decor to the Max kit. I really like the decor for that. That's so cute that Shrimp steals your scrunchie. haha. It's cute too that Sunny is it likes to sit in the shower, waiting for you. They'd miss you a lot less when you record if you brought them in the room with you to record like you used to. lol. I love that Snap and the kittens were on the bed together. You need a picture of that. Don't apologize about talking about the kittens. I love hearing about your kitties and love seeing them even more so PLEASE include them in a video ASAP. I love seeing them play and stuff. I have two cats that are 13 now and have had them since they were born, had their Mama and the Mom gave birth to them in the car port so we adopted them. Happy 91st birthday to your Grandpa. Our cats put us to bed, too. One just hops up, asks for a treat, hangs out for a bit and then leaves, but the other (the kitten) insists on playing fetch for a while before we go to sleep lol
This has made me all the more hopeful they’ll release an hotel pack soon (managing different units isn’t much different than managing rooms)
