The thing I think the Sims team doesn't understand is that we players can make our own worlds and builds way better than they can. What they need to give us is the systems to make what we want work better. For Rent would have been amazing if they just gave us the ability to create rentals with lots of different furniture styles and animations. But EA skimps on animations now and the whole world seems like it was created by FX designers and has zero substance. Would it have killed them to make a lot to go to for the tiger thing and play a cinematic video of our sims looking and the tiger doing a different cycle of animations when you visit. Sims 2 had features like this. Sims 4 is a decade old and there is barely anything in the game and sims still can barely do anything but talk together.
Exactly; I don't need them to make me an amazing world (though it is appreciated!) I need them to give me the ASSETS so that I can build an amazing world. I really wish we had some more color swatches or availability on things because there are so many off-whites that don't quite match but I would put together if the color weren't ever so slightly wrong etc.
@@awhitney3063 one of my biggest wants for this game is that there is a master palette and every item in the game had access to it. Then they could make all different colors for woods and metals and paints and with each new pack, the palette gets bigger. That would allow us to use different styles and sets to mix and match and the game would always seem fresh. This dev team is so subpar just in thinking about how the game could work. They don't understand simmers at all.
I think there’s a slim possibility that they’ll probably make a glitchy world-creation application only once they stop milking fans for overpriced content
I swear, EA is so lucky that their players are willing to save the game that they don't make gameplay for. I saw the community build hotels, retiring homes, boarding schools, shelters and prisons with this pack. And this itself makes it more valuable to purchase it than anything EA made.
I guess that was their plan - to give a system of rentals, and they knew the playerbase would immediately start creating hotels, resorts, etc and not limit it to a specific 'Hotel' lot type or something like that.
That's the whole point of EA doing the absolute bare minimum... They know modders and the fan community is gonna pick up the slack and create real content.
“Players are willing to save the game” is a blissfully ignorsnt way of saying y’all are (no offense) f*cking dumb and literally handing your hard earned money over to this corporation and making them richer just to play a game you don’t even really like and need to implement mods to even find remotely interesting
You were right with your initial review, though. This whole debacle should have been a game pack from the get go. You're right here too, though. This could've been a great game pack if the landlord mechanics were implemented properly, but I still would want a world with the GP, though. GPs get worlds, too.
Tomarang is the size of a Game Pack world. And For Rent is the first Sims 4 pack to include a new residental lot type that ISN'T a Stuff Pack. It honestly feels like they had an idea for a Game Pack and an idea for a Stuff Pack and went: "Why not put them together and make it an Expansion Pack?" Like, I'm guessing they had trouble coming up with new gameplay to make the world of Tomarang worth getting (like how Mt. Komorebi isn't just a Japanese-based world, but one with snow sports) and all they really had to go with was the tiger sanctuary and lore...so they threw in the Rental Unit stuff that they were developing for a Stuff Pack and mashed it together so now we have that awkward bit of gameplay where we have to be in Tomarang and break into the tiger sanctuary in order to complete an aspiration that otherwise has nothing to do with Tomarang or tigers. This would also explain why Pool Parties are introduced in this pack and mentioned along potlucks as something that can help complete one of the aspirations...but Tomarang has no pools.
I think it's worth mentioning that this pack isn't just broken, it's actually causing massive irreparable corruptions to save files whereby the player can't even load the save anymore. That I feel goes way beyond buggy or glitchy and really deserves to be highlighted more by all content creators to force some action on the sims team to get it fixed.
The difference between renters (For Rent) and roommates (discover university) is roommates are locked off for gameplay and you can never ‘be’ them, they HAVE to be NPCs. Roommates can also only be single adult sims and never families or couples even. They can ONLY be single renters, you can’t have a family of 2 or 3 with children, you can have them as a retained family renting from you as part of the For Rent pack. Since I play rotationally and jump between different families who know each other, I honestly cared more about being a tenant than landlord but with this pack I get to play both, this is HUGE for me. I also like putting families in rentals. Having two families on a single lot is fun. Especially to have other children and teens next door who might pop up in a townhouse setup. That being said, For Rent is an overpriced build tool with lackluster features as a pack beyond this. But I still don’t regret buying it as the one thing I wanted it for does do the job. I never experienced the billion dollar rent bug, I have experienced my owned rentals disappearing which was annoying. Also the day rate system makes no sense. And what affects the ratings system and when you are allowed to evict justly and the build tools locking you out if you aren’t playing that family all make for annoying gameplay. Most of the people I have in residential rentals I made, I rarely use the ‘search for tenants’ feature and they will pay any rent you set. Also, I have had the game populate my apartments and houses and I spend a load of time booting them out cause I was saving those spots for specific families. 😂
This breakdown of the differences really helped ty. Your way of playing and some of the examples in the video make it seem like For Rent can provide more TS2 type gameplay to TS4, which imo is a good thing!
In my game, despite taking great care of the properties, furnishing them well, and setting lower rent than the people could afford, they kept breaking lease the day rent was due, so I just never got paid for the almost full week they were there. I wish I'd had your experience of actually being paid when playing as a landlord. Then this pack might've been somewhat good.
Omg... you're exactly like me. I just bought this pack yesterday. And it had been one of my prime requirements to play the sims like that for a very long time. I'm glad that this option exists. The regular lots in the world are too big to make a housing for 1 household only, even the smallest ones are too big. This rarely happens in real world. I'm glad that through this pack I can now divide my lots into several pieces and play. 🙂
He says positive things about packs that he thinks that are good, such as paranormal, cottage living, city living, discover university even get famous, get to work, get together and actually a lot of packs. But most of his reviews are more of on a negative side or on a neutral side, but there are actually a lot of packs that he had good reviews.
I'll be honest, I do find that the sims 4 For Rent was a bit rushed, it seems like they spent so much time into making the trailer for it that they didn't do a proper test of the game or a proper review, they got everyone so hyped for something that will require a lot of bug fixes. And I'll be honest because of this issue with the packs, I tend to put off buying any sort of DLC for the sims, that come out brand new till like almost a year after it has been out, otherwise there will be so many bugs that need to be fixed until you can play it properly. But really, I love your reviews cuz it's so honest and true. Love your videos
I literally made the shittiest house possible and it said rent was 4 billion, i ended up being so disappointed with the bugs in this pack since it's basically unusable for me because of that 😞
I would have been happy with a free base game update that allows residential rentals to be built 😁. Some of my favorite builds are the ones creators were making excitedly when the info regarding the pack leaked...before any of the for rent items were even available Maybe in the future they'll do it. I mean ...they made removing shoes free base game content so maybe eventually they'll do the same for these residential rentals
It's like expecting them to make base game the possibility of owning a restaurant. It's never gonna be a base game feature because it's the only reason people would buy the pack.
@@suan333 I think it'd be fine if they made the pack have more content (as an expansion) than one feature. Tomarang should've had more rideable boats (something we got with Island Paradise). Tomarang should've had at ~15 lots. (something most expansion packs have). Then lock all the good stuff that makes rental more interesting behind the pack too. The big mailboxes, water heater and fuseboxes, etc. The For Rent pack should be an interesting version of it but base game should always get the bare bones.
@@hyejinmoon4882 The problem the expasion pack is already bare bones, they wouldnt sell it if we can already build apartments in base game because there is no other signicant gameplay in this pack beyond that. I think it could be a city living update tho. And the whole east asian thing could be a more fleash out pack like snow scape.
I'm still mad about the shoes thing, lol. I'm from a culture where you remove your shoes at the door (American South), and it always bothered me that Sims wore their shoes indoors. Shoe removal should've been base game from the start, especially since there are multiple cultures where you remove shoes indoors.
I will say that university roommates never cover their portion of the bills, it’s rarely worth it especially for larger builds. When tenants do pay (I haven’t had too many bugs with that personally) as long as the rent is more than the 50 simoleon tax it’s not too bad covering the bills. You just won’t get rich from rent. My favorite weird use I’ve found is making a mini neighborhood of tiny cabins for the Moonwood Collective werewolves. The alpha is the landlord and each pack mate has their own little house with lots of shared activities outside. The shared spaces are my favorite part, you can basically have any kind of community lot (that doesn’t require vendors) to skill build and socialize without having to go through a loading screen.
I hated that rory and Lou were homeless even though they were "wild" so I also did a wildfangs lot where rory (as the alpha) owns a lot and her ever growing pack lives there with her.
Setting up worlds was always one of my favorite things to do in Sims 3-- like finding and setting up themed versions of new lot types that would fit into existing worlds. So, For Rent has definitely brought back that aspect of fun for me. But then I go into Live mode to play with the worlds I've so carefully set up and am bored within 10 minutes. 😂
I always view things both as their idea and execution, and idea behind for rent pack is life brining, this could've been city living times ten, but execution failed miserably. Imagine my disappointment when I saw that "shared rooms" are not in fact shared, but rather are multidimensional rooms that exist in multiple variants in all of apartments. I saw my sim's parents sitting on the couch in shared living room, clicket to visit my neighbors and sim's parents have disappeared and replaced with tenants from other apartment, sitting in their version of the same room. Just no.
Satch could you please make a review video of the apartment mods and cc that are out there? I´m sure the modders made great stuff for the community even since City Living was released. Thanks, I love your videos your honesty is so needed in this community!
Can EA just fix the bugs so I can buy the pack, I want this pack but I won't buy it broken even if that means I never buy it. Thanks for being real and letting us know of features that are worth it and features that aren't, I appreciate it.
It's very broken!! Ruined my save!! Luckly i had a back up. Broke sim owned businesses in game. You can't see what you own including res rentals, restaurants, retail and vet. When your sims goes to a player owned vet or retail it doesn't open automatically anymore so they can't buy anything or get their pet seen. If you put down a rental and want to change it to anything else it gets stuck as a rental! Keep your money in your account. Had to start a new save and have no one own anything! which defeates the object of the expansion pack. Don't know if these money grabbers will ever fix these issues! But definitely wait!!
I'm absolutely loving the multiple households feature of this pack, and I don't really care about the other features. This alone makes it a very important pack for me. It just gives me so many opportunities to play out certain fantasies! But I have to say, Tomarang is a pathetic world.
It’s on 50% sale now and I have been considering getting this. I really enjoy rundown/y2k saves and trailer parks are a favorite for me. It’ll be fun to be able to live in one without having to control them all or being limited to 8 sims. Even being able to have a roommate
I haven't explored the landlord gameplay yet, but from what I've seen, it doesn't look like fun at all. The only part I like about this pack is being able to make better use of the worlds. In Del Sol Valley, for example, I put apartments on those huge residential lots and had more space for community lots, in Strangerville I placed a rundown motel, etc
Literally. The huge residential lot in the suburb? Instantly turned into like 3 houses. You can even make a tall apartment building in the "downtown" area.
5:47 I don't think EA is trying to block anything. I think the sims team just didn't figure out how to erase the pre-identification of the units and shared spaces from the build during the Gallery download. It's hard-coded in the build and your game can't read the code if you don't have the pack. Now if they would release the needed code to everyone in a patch update, that might make the downloads possible.
I didn't know you could turn off events. Thank you so much! Honestly I feel like this pack broke my game. I did send my save to the developers because I want them to fix this broken pack ASAP.
Oh hey now, first time I see buildings you built yourself (sorry, haven't watched any gameplay, just the other vids :P )... and you're very good! Love your rental building, the one that was empty but with kitchens and bathrooms, that's how we do things in Sweden anyway, you get your kitchen and toilet, but furnish the rest with your own stuff.
I do this when I get overwhelmed with how big my family is I move the teen heir to the basement for zero rent. They still get to see their family, but I don't have to control them. The for rent system is more fun than roommates, to me. More situation options.
I have been getting paid as a landlord. It did take about 2 in game weeks to work, but now I get paid every Wed. I play on a PS4. The events are still glitch and getting a high rating on rentals is easy. The pack for sure has issues but I like having a multi families on one lot without controlling all my Sims all the time.
Satch... Satch... Satch... the graveyard next to the retirement home is so dark 😂😂😂😂 tztztz 😂😂 "And when you look out to the right, you will see your forever home" 😅
Do you have neighborhood stories turned on? The game populated households in units for residential rental lots for me, including a lot my sims family owned. It was a bit chaotic since I was waiting on rebate day to finish furnishing their unit, and that bedless unit was filled as well. 😅
I'm so glad you changed your tune a bit as this pack has completely changed my sims gameplay! I love making 6 unit lots (I'd highly recommend to not go above this as game becomes very slow!) But its sooo fun to play with the sims and get them to interact in the communal area, it's like having a community lot on your doorstep! Also building multi units means you can fill out those big lots that are impossible to fill!
I’m holding my almost 2 year old and he seen your thumbnail and said “daddy!” 😂😂 You kind of have a resemblance to my husband but I thought it was funny so I wanted to share lol
Downloading a lot from the gallery and placing a lot from the gallery are two different buttons. I always use the left-most button to save to my library and then I'm free to place it on whichever lot
I'm done. I've been playing and obsessed since the sims 1 but 2023 was the last year I will spend any money on the sims 4 they would have to do a lot and change a lot to get me back for sims 5 I'm just waiting for life by you this year and hopefully para lives within a few years. i'm sad about saying goodbye to the sims but i can barely play a few hours without getting bored because story telling is so restricted and lackluster
I want to say that I do agree with satch that they are too lazy to set up the world, I am the person who in every save will delete all the sims and lots to create my own world. But the system is so tedious that it is easy to tell that the create your own world was not the primary focus when the game was created, basic things like a delete all townies button or a select up to 50 townies to upload from your gallery are non existent. And don't get me started on the poorly implemented stories system and the need to have MCCC control to help better control your world so that generated sims come from your gallery and dress better.
I like it tbh I feel like it'd be way too chaotic if you could see into them all. That's just me though! I wish there was a setting to turn it on/off. It's nice for larger apartment builds, but with a duplex it makes more sense to be able to see both
The thing I like better about this than the roommate system, if you like to have lots of your sims living in close proximity because the (annoying) load screens keep the lot from lagging as bad. And I don’t think you can play first person as the roommate but in 4 rent you can play as the renter or the landlord. So if you want to have granny living in your basement suite you can switch to playing from her household if you want or playing the main family. I also really like the functional retirement communities now.
Renting out my basement was the first thing I did. I built the house about a month before the pack released, so I had the oldest kid live there as a teenager, then when the pack came out, I made it into a full apartment and rented it out to that punk guy who turned out to be evil. And that actually worked out because the dad/owner was evil too so when he got to the point where he had to make friends with a tenant, they were almost friends anyway. 😂
I agree, especially with the way that you need to change the lot type. That is super odd and very annoying to have to do all the time. Also find that arranging and uploading rental lots is confusing and tedious as well. Granted, the entire gallery experience is lacking in this game and needs a major overhaul, which sadly will not happen.
I'm good tbh.. I don't like the furniture in the pack, I don't like build items, the rental unit stuff seems like a lot of work. I might get it if it goes on like a %50 off thing in the future but it is sooooo not worth the full price imo.
Also I agree with you, the rent part could have been a game pack and they could have made an expansion pack with the same world, except the right size and more in depth. Besides being too small for an expansion and the bugs, I’m really annoyed at only 4 market stalls and their placement and the rabbit hole tiger sanctuary. I could have done with like a tiger viewing area, where maybe your sim walks up to a fence or glass wall and maybe you see a tiger pop its head out of a bush or run by, like literally anything where you can see a tiger instead of a statue and another stupid rabbit hole.
Your retirement home and your cemetery look so awesome. Please upload soon. 😊 I'm playing University right now for the first time and I decided to use a rental, so disappointed because students won't autofill on their own. Gotta figure out strange and funny ways to get things to work properly, and it's way too much work for such little funisfaction. 🙄
I placed a 4 apt build I made into Windenberg, and a couple of game days in, 3 apts were rented out/populated by the game. The 4th one took a couple of days, but now all 4 apts are filled. Now, I made another rental build, of 5 townhomes not attached, large common area in the middle of the lot, placed in Tomarang. Waited a few real time days before giving in and placing a household in one home myself. I'll wait longer to see if the game populates any more. I hope it does.
In your previous video, there was a mix-up in the information you provided, which influenced my decision to make a purchase that I now regret. Your words had a significant impact on my choice.
I own a couple of packs and this vid inspired me that some older packs have some nice cross pack compatibility with the glitchy as hell for rent 😂❤ thank you for being my inspiration
What's sad imo is that most of this was already possible without the pack AND could be done without a ton of loading screens. You can use the roommate system without having to set up every single room and space and just lock doors. For Rent only makes things more complicated and much more buggy. They literally sold their fans what they already own and added complexity and bugs, and most fans ate it up unfortunately.
5:15 Coming up, EA bans double uploads of lots to conserve server storage that may negatively impact the environment and does not address the restriction of downloading different lot types from the gallery.
u can also lock ur bedroom door if u have university roommates. i like university and roommates function better than apartment neighbors bc they can invite their partner over to the house and people actually talk to u
For Rent is so bug that at one point you'll unable to save the game (error code 403:8e5010b7:5b944a44). It happened to me yesterday after long hours of playing
Realistically this is why I was excited by this pack and have fun with it since I made an apartment and trying to make a frat house for university (%#€$ being a landlord)
Sims 2 did university perfectly. Everyone’s dorm rooms had a picture of the sim on the doors and the rooms went invisible when taken. Why they didn’t do something like that for the dorm rooms idk.
I don't think they know how. Something tells me they don't have many programmers on the team. Not enough anyway. I always notice everything has way more FX than necessary and never much that requires coding. Anything that does is always a buggy mess.
@@Aaaaabbbbbbcccccccddddd This is exactly it. I was around back then and I remember one of the gurus explaining why the way their engine would make it easier to update. It was something like it was designed to turn features on and off without needing to hire expensive programmers. Not an exact quote, but he did say expensive programmers. I can definitely see that they stuck to that because the game is a buggy nightmare.
I've found that the game does actually populate the empty rentals. I've built a few rentals, including one where my family lives in one of the flats, and all the other flats got populated very quickly.
7:47 Yes! I hate that too. I set up a really nice universe with venues in Newcrest, clubs at different venue types/in different worlds so the venues are always bustling, great holidays, etc., and I saved it as "Base Game", and I just start there with every new game I want to start. cause I'm not doing all that work again lmao!
I mean… it’s a great *concept* to be sure. I was really looking forward to this pack. I still WANT this pack… as advertised. But even if I pay full price for it right now, I won’t get it. Everything is broken. I won’t get working pressure cookers or tea kettles or marble collections for kids or landlord gameplay or tenant gameplay or even dependable build/buy. 🤷🏼♀️ You say the crazy rent is fixed. There’s still an awful lot of active bug reports claiming it’s not. But I guess it’s… better? Slightly less likely to break?
something underrated about the for rent pack is the kettle, its WAY better getting coffee/tea from a kettle than from the coffee maker, and definitely the tea maker.
I really like the retirement home idea! I never know what to do with all the elderly sims so I usually don't have a lot of grandparent sims hanging around lol. Also I always had the same thought with the Get Famous location as well.
I think ea is giving us these game packs priced as expansion packs because they're focusing more on "Project Renee" now and just want to milk every last cent out of the sims 4 before moving onto sims 5.
I don’t understand the reason of having loading screens within the same lot, if the lot was a residential with roommates you can go into their rooms but if it’s a rental you can’t? I don’t see how it would cause more lag
My thought was just find a simple small tiny house and copy it a few times then you have a lot with a few to several houses on a lot. Problem is that I really like the tiny house system and the different systems in Sims 4 don't work together, best example being lot traits with Haunted House lot type as that is what mostly broke the Paranormal pack.
I knew instantly both that I wanted the pack, and that it would release broken. I checked yesterday on the forum and the insane rent ticket was still open. Once that and landlords getting paid is fixed, I will buy it. I just hope I don't have to wait for too long!
Thank you for this video- I’ve been seriously debating on even getting it (I have a completionist problem with the sims) but now I don’t think I’m going to get it until I see some bug fixes😢
I was so excited with the new features of this pack that I've bought it regardless of my rules to never buy packs before 6 months after their release.... well, I've never experience such a laggy pack, ever! One of the most annoying thing is that when I build some rental and upload it to the gallery, the apartment setting glitches and never follows my settings, which means that when I load one apartment kn the first floor, I find I've got an additional kitchen, bathroom, or bedroom on the third floor... also, my game now freezes all the time and crashes. It feels like the sims 3 glitchy vibes but without the fun of the sims 3. Anyway, avoid buying this pack.
So going against what you said, I broke down and purchased this Friday. I could see some of the bugs that you spoke of. Nothing I couldn't handle up until yesterday late afternoon. OMG. You remember the scene in Ready Player1 where he talks about ppl losing their ***t?! I was that blonde little girl yesterday!! I decided to use my saved game that had a ton of semoleon's and make a rental property. After 4 hours of working on the rental & 32k semoleon's later, I had nothing! It doesn't show that I own anything AND doesn't let me visit the city I had the rental built in. No semoleon's either.
I would love if u could rent out restaurants, stores and like bars cafes n stuff on one lot. So you could make a little village with apartments on top of the stores🥲
Completely agree with you. I'm so tired to have to set up everything myself for things to happen. I miss the sims 1 and 2 for that. For rent is so bad, you never see any of your neighbour. The relation progression system doesn't have any influence. You can tell anyone to date or married anyone, as soon as you switch to this sims, the relation does not exist. Just a smokes screen. Nothing impact the gameplay. You set up a curfew and you don't even get in trouble if you break it. Why? Because you have to do it yourself. The woke killed the game, if I wanted to play dolls, I'll buy a doll house and some barbies.
Someone has to recalculate the numbers on this game. You are expected to make a huge investment, then make a further time investment, all for too little return. Finically, it makes no sense, it's a bad business model.
6:21 knowing EA, they probably found that it crashed if you put residental rentals on residental lots so instead of fixing it they just made it impossible to do.
I can't seem to change my Residential Rentals back to a regular Residential lot. Even with no one owning it or living there. I also put a rental on that lot. It has 10 units. It definitely makes it nice for, wow there's not enough lots!
For me the only advantage For Rent is that you can increase the number of independent households. That's about it. Pre-For Rent, if you make a complex/apartment style buildings, you have to make the "families" in that lot in one household (which has a limit of 8 sims), and that they will automatically know each other. With For Rent you can have max 8 sims/pets living in one unit each. This feature should really be in City Living or Discover University. Not it's own expansion pack. At the very least at least a game pack.
Well there's a pro and con to changing it to a residential lot before it's uploaded. Whoever downloads it will need to separate the rooms themselves which can be tedious. They should just upload both and direct people accordingly
:'))))) I'm afraid that if you rented out your basement with Discover University, you might have your roommates deciding that they can't take care of their needs because roommates seem to get confused if they live anywhere in the house but on the main floor... then they'll move out. lol I rented out a basement that I built under the house that the Partihaus household from Get Together is usually in and I only had maybe two or three of however many roommates stay for very long, and one roommate wasn't even living in the basement, so he ended up accidentally becoming the control test subject in this experiment. lol Actually, I had a whole upper floor built onto this house before the basement that seemed to have the same if not worse problems with roommates.
Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion or all generally agrees, but: I genuinely think that this is such an amazing pack, I really love it, love the premise, love the idea, IF IT ONLY WAS NOT SO BROKEN of course. My game file got corrupted just as everybody's else, yes, BUT I still have so much fun with that one, just because it gives me a tool for something that I was already trying to do before (just using roommates and storytelling, which was more like play-pretend, a poor version). I'm mainly a builder & decorator, so I'm ecstatic when I can build a trailer park or a small english village on one lot with gardens and parks and playgrounds and decorate all of them in different styles (just like your three houses in Del Sol) but I also like when my played family has loads of neighbours and thanks to this pack, together with roommates and a little neighbourhood mod I can make it so lively! (broken AF but lively nonetheless xDD) so this one day in very distant future when they MAAAAYBE fix this pack I'll be a happy little potato. Do I have my hopes high? Hell no XD of course no XD my hopes for EA died years ago xD and probably that's why, since the bar is so low, it's easier for me to see positives LOL 😂😂😂
I am confused. What was the point you were trying to make lol? You are happy that we can use one lot to have many houses in one lot? If that’s the case I agree. I love that about this pack. It was a game changer as a rotational player.
EA:we didn't prepare the lots or lore because we want you to tell your own story?

The thing I think the Sims team doesn't understand is that we players can make our own worlds and builds way better than they can. What they need to give us is the systems to make what we want work better. For Rent would have been amazing if they just gave us the ability to create rentals with lots of different furniture styles and animations.
Apparently it would kill them. lol!

@@BreakingGaiaa color wheel, like the pets have in CAS
It honestly feels like they had an idea for a Game Pack and an idea for a Stuff Pack and went: "Why not put them together and make it an Expansion Pack?"
Like, I'm guessing they had trouble coming up with new gameplay to make the world of Tomarang worth getting (like how Mt.
Is it better now?
@@Lalathegam3er As far as I'm aware, it's better but still has a lot of glitches if you play as a landlord.
I just had a problem reloading 5 mins ago
@@mightyowl1800 More TS2-style gameplay is always a good thing!
The graveyard being next to the retirement home 😂😂😂 Brutal, Satch!
I saw that too 😂😂😂
I didn't notice that at all. LMFAO
Instantly clicked because I've never seen you say a positive thing about a pack. Wow.
He says positive things when they're warranted... They just unfortunately aren't often 😅

He says positive things about packs that he thinks that are good, such as paranormal, cottage living, city living, discover university even get famous, get to work, get together and actually a lot of packs. But most of his reviews are more of on a negative side or on a neutral side, but there are actually a lot of packs that he had good reviews.
Then you must be new or don't watch much. 🙂
He does say positive things when warranted hun
For the University pack I always locked the dorm room doors then unlocked them for the Sims that are staying in that specific dorm room.
I do too, but then they suddenly move out and you have to rinse and repeat for this new stranger. Bothersome.
This was such a simple pack , with SO much potential, yet it still looks so lackluster and missing so much.
Prewatch prediction.... Satch is just trolling us. Lets see if I'm right.
January 4 is the new April 1, I guess.
@@cheesecakelasagna I was only slightly right. The potential for the pack would've been great, but the pack is still completely broken.
Some of my favorite builds are the ones creators were making excitedly when the info regarding the pack leaked...before any of the for rent items were even available
Maybe in the future they'll do it.
@@hyejinmoon4882 yeah... That was EA 15/18 years ago. Not anymore with Sims 4, sadly
I made a mermaid cove a similar way. A bunch of little huts basically with shared space for cooking amenities, bathing, etc.
I hated that rory and Lou were homeless even though they were "wild" so I also did a wildfangs lot where rory (as the alpha) owns a lot and her ever growing pack lives there with her.
I LOVE that idea! Oh I would play it so much

Satch in the first 10 second: the pack trash and broken and do not buy it
Setting up worlds was always one of my favorite things to do in Sims 3-- like finding and setting up themed versions of new lot types that would fit into existing worlds.
Just no.
Modders will fix the problems so I'll just wait for unofficial patches
Putting the graveyard next to the retirement home is so devious, lmao
Okay I see where you are coming from! Looking forward to buying this 60% off in 4 years (just bought Cottage Living from 2020 on sale lol)
I do this when I get overwhelmed with how big my family is
I move the teen heir to the basement for zero rent. They still get to see their family, but I don't have to control them. The for rent system is more fun than roommates, to me. More situation options.
Setting as residential for gallery is a REALLY GREAT TIP!!! Thank you
I have been getting paid as a landlord.
I’m holding my almost 2 year old and he seen your thumbnail and said “daddy!” 😂😂
You kind of have a resemblance to my husband but I thought it was funny so I wanted to share lol
Well, now you have a backup dad incase of a long business trip or something. Look kiddo, daddy is on business playing the sims!
For Rent is just my last straw, like I will never buy anything for the Sims again, I will buy games that are actually worth it
Downloading a lot from the gallery and placing a lot from the gallery are two different buttons.
Basement might work for me. It bothers my ocd to see the blank rooms (that I can't see into) on my lots.
I like it tbh I feel like it'd be way too chaotic if you could see into them all. That's just me though! I wish there was a setting to turn it on/off. It's nice for larger apartment builds, but with a duplex it makes more sense to be able to see both
How not to use mental illness 🙄
OCD has nothing to do with being annoyed by empty flats. Do some research and educate yourself please.
Why did residential rentals need a whole expansion pack, especially when City Living already exists? Like tiny houses were a STUFF PACK.
I hope it does.
please blink twice if you here being held against your will
In your previous video, there was a mix-up in the information you provided, which influenced my decision to make a purchase that I now regret. Your words had a significant impact on my choice.
I will have to re-upload my rentals as a residential lot, thanks for pointing this out! 😊
I love how you have the graveyard right next to the retirement home. They don’t have to travel far! 😂
What happened to the Landgraab lore that was supposed to be revealed??
You say the crazy rent is fixed. There’s still an awful lot of active bug reports claiming it’s not. But I guess it’s… better? Slightly less likely to break?
something underrated about the for rent pack is the kettle, its WAY better getting coffee/tea from a kettle than from the coffee maker, and definitely the tea maker.
ngl i havent even touched this pack since it came out
I really like the retirement home idea! I never know what to do with all the elderly sims so I usually don't have a lot of grandparent sims hanging around lol. Also I always had the same thought with the Get Famous location as well.
graveyard beside the retirement home is just diabolical LOL
I think ea is giving us these game packs priced as expansion packs because they're focusing more on "Project Renee" now and just want to milk every last cent out of the sims 4 before moving onto sims 5.
I don’t understand the reason of having loading screens within the same lot, if the lot was a residential with roommates you can go into their rooms but if it’s a rental you can’t? I don’t see how it would cause more lag
I am waiting with anticipation for your save files, the ideas that you implemented will make game play more interesting. 🤗
This pack broke my build mode
Not the graveyard next to the retirement home 😂😂😂😂
I’ve never had an issue getting paid. It is buggy while in build mode. And some of the features are buggy like maintenance stuff.
You are so good at building !
Not sure if they fixed it or if it’s just my MC Command settings, but almost all of my apartments filled up with neighbors
I’m getting the pack soon!
Someone has to recalculate the numbers on this game. You are expected to make a huge investment, then make a further time investment, all for too little return. Finically, it makes no sense, it's a bad business model.
i hate that we can’t see the interior of our renters🥱🙄
I saw the title, and I literally had to stop what I was doing and sit down to watch the video. I was shooked (is that how you spell that?)
The graveyard next door to the retirement home is hilariously cruel 😂
I love ur entire existence ✨ 💖 this video was a god send 🙌
Well there's a pro and con to changing it to a residential lot before it's uploaded. Whoever downloads it will need to separate the rooms themselves which can be tedious. They should just upload both and direct people accordingly
:'))))) I'm afraid that if you rented out your basement with Discover University, you might have your roommates deciding that they can't take care of their needs because roommates seem to get confused if they live anywhere in the house but on the main floor... then they'll move out. lol
I rented out a basement that I built under the house that the Partihaus household from Get Together is usually in and I only had maybe two or three of however many roommates stay for very long, and one roommate wasn't even living in the basement, so he ended up accidentally becoming the control test subject in this experiment. lol Actually, I had a whole upper floor built onto this house before the basement that seemed to have the same if not worse problems with roommates.
There was a mod that removes Loading Screens in the same neighborhood, I wonder if it works with For Rent
I'm sensing a payment- sorry, a GIFT from EA here...
make sure, you put water heaters and electrical boxes in a shared space or it wont work for all units
So what was it that you were wrong about..?
But I really appreciate influencers who correct what they already posted, thank you for this.
