I'm sorry to hear that this market didn't go well, but thank you for sharing your experience! Your bigger turtle is adorable❤ The entrance fee is iffy for sure. Will be watching more of your market videos as I prep for my first one in Feb!❤
I had one show with a $3 fee that was used for the cheerleading squad at a school. It was a very busy show. Most of the time, I avoid shows like that unless it's for a charity donation. As a shopper, I won't pay to get in unless it's for a good cause.
Good to know! Seems a lot of people don’t mind donating to a good cause which is awesome❤️ This show definitely wasn’t for any charity though.. just the county making more money 😂
As a shopper, I don't like entrance fees. The crafters are paying for the venue rental, so why charge admission? A craft fair last weekend was $250 for a table and $8 admission...and the booth fee only covered one person at the table, so if you had a helper, they had to pay the admission fee.
I don’t like an entry fee & my recent market charged $5 entry and about 30 people turned up just to enjoy the vintage car display and pinup girls competition and had no interest in shopping. If a couple and their children wanted to attend, that is a lot to waist $10 on the simple pleasure of buying at a market, it’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve experienced and I’m not vending at any markets that do it in 2025
The last craft fair I went to, I paid a $20 entrance fee and another $40 to take a class ($68 total with tax). Once inside I spent close to $300 buying from just one vendor. I purchased a unique item that I couldnt make myself. Sorry, but I am not buying a lot of these crochet items because every other crocheter has the exact same thing and they all brag about how fast they can turn them out on tiktok or youtube shorts. Ive been crocheting for years and Im just not gonna buy something that I can make with a free youtube tutorial
That’s a fair point! Although a lot of people aren’t able to crochet items for themselves for whatever reason. I’ve had a good number of people tell me they tried crocheting and didn’t enjoy it or understand it, but they still love the plushies. Either way, I totally get wanting to find something super unique after spending $20 on an entrance fee! ❤️

Yikes!! That sounds like a ripoff😬 Especially having any helpers pay for their entry. Talk about a “no thanks” lol😹

Preach queen!! I completely agree! At $150/booth, with over 150 vendors you’d think that would be enough 😩 I’ve learned my lesson lol

That stinks when shows are like that. The fee is ok if it's more of a fundraising fee.
Totally agree! Pretty much all of the high school shows I’ve been to were fundraisers for the kids, I much prefer those 🥰
