Hello Everyone, today we're going to do a waterproof test on the Sony Xperia 1 II, which we've been using for two weeks before today's test.
The Sony Xperia 1 II is a 5G smartphone which released on 22 May 2020.
The Sony Xperia 1 II looks similar from the previous generation Sony Xperia 1, but brings a new camera system, support 5G, and the usual hardware upgrades.
The rear camera module is moved from the centre to the top left corner, while the fingerprint module remains on the side frame.
The camera system is one of the biggest highlights of Sony Xperia 1 II, with technology from the A9 and lenses from ZEISS.
The three camera lens are all 12 mega pixel. With equivalent focal lengths of 6mm,24mm and 70mm respectively.
The Photography Pro and Cinematography Pro APP bring the similar parameters and color settings as the professionals. To put it simply, this is a camera APP that uses a micro-unit UI,
The operation interface is inspired by Sony Alpha cameras. We will also update a Xperia 1 II camera review video later.

Xperia 1 II stayed under 1.5 meters of water for half hour without a single bubble come out.
We took it out of water and and we played the music,video and others, everything was normal, everything was fine.

Here we removed the battery cover, no waterdrop were found.
Keep disassembling the phone,no water intake,no water droplets and the waterproof lable did not turn red.

My brother always critize Sony phones since I have been buying them for years now. Today we went beach and he was so shocked that my phone withstand the water. We recorded about 20 to 25 videos and all came out clean. He wants to buy a x performance like mines now. No matter how expensive sony phones are, I will always and only buy Sony phone because of its excellent qualities. I had Sony Walkman phone, Sony Xperia mini 10, Sony Xperia ZL and now Sony x performance. I still have the ZL and none never disappoint. No iPhone or Samsung could by-pass Sony phones in this lifetime for me

My Z5 compact is still perfectly waterproof after 4 years of use. I hope my 5ii will prove to be just as durable.
The xperia phones are excellent. My wife's Z3 was working perfectly when we We're forced to upgrade it 6 months ago due to no more Compatibility with Google. Unfortunately the new Sony Z phones were way too Expensive.

Mine xperia x compact still get pressure test up to 20-25 bar
inside it looks very different from all 2020 flagships...resembles angly 80s tape decks and all that stuff from that era, which is cool.
I had the xperia z1.... took it with me an huge waterslides... lazy rivers... salt water ..... sold it on after 2 years for a profit!
Sony don't mess with these features, that's why their products are expensive but worth it for those who seek longevity. The remain question is this : After tearing it down, is it going to be a waterproof phone?
That would cool video to watch and I'd be super interested to see how it ends.
Generally speaking, the waterproof will weaken along with the daily use of wear and tear, of course, will also affect after teardown.

M5 is an old model, the ip68 rating may decreased over time if rubber or glue is resisting the water.. maybe not the case with new xperia model such as xperia 1 ii
