I sat down with my knitting the other day, clicked on You Tube, and was over-the-moon excited when I saw you had a new podcast! Yeah! Thank you so much Ruth for taking the time to share your wonderful self with us. You bring joy and many, many smiles!!! I watch every podcast, don't always comment because I am too busy knitting, but just wanted you to know how much I appreciate and enjoy you!
Dear Ruth, I was a bit concerned last episode when you had nothing on your needles.😮 Now, I feel much better after seeing your beautiful WIPS and FOs this episode. I also enjoy ‘waiting time’ = free knitting time 🎉. Thank you for your words of scripture, always an encouragement or challenge for me. Happy Knitting. God Bless ❤
Couldn't resist the name of that yarn" Have Faith and get out of the boat", it follows on so well from the Bible study we had at our house this evening. Looking forward to squishing it and deciding what to knit. Twinset and purl pattern bought and cast on planned for Friday.
Congrats on 6,000 subscribers...that is so exciting! Thanks for sharing all of your cast on's with us. I love the Brush Strokes sweater and I think those colors are good for you. Always great to spend some time with you😊.
Dearest Ruth!! I love the knitting portion of your videos but I ADORE you sharing your thoughts and inspiration for the Lord. You have no idea how much you’ve helped me over just the past two videos!! The words were absolutely Holy Spirit inspired for me personally!! I fell asleep last night during the last half of your podcast, (yes, the menopause got me!) so had to re-Watch the last half this morning. What a BLESSING!!! Thank you for being faithful and getting out of the boat! Here’s to getting our feet wet today!! 💙🩵🤍🩵💙 God bless you dear Ruth!!!
So lovely to see your beautiful projects Ruth. I am in bed here in East Devon nursing a hot waterbottle and Covid! My brain is full of cottonwool so had to stop knitting on my vest top as I was making too many mistakes, your podcast was perfect timing to keep me company. 😊
Oh that Woolly Waffle Shawl is gorgeous. The colors are stunning. I am excited to see how you feel about the pattern down the sleeve of your top, it looks fantastic, I hope it is comfy.
Great to see you this afternoon, helped to bring some warmth to this very cold day 15 degrees Fahrenheit, yuck! So your podcast was perfect to sit and knit with, I am working on the Garden Cardigan by Ankestrick. This is a great cardigan worked top down and the button bands are knit as you go. This is going to be a gift for my Aunt (87). Happy knitting 🧶😁
Hi Ruth , I love that rubard color on you , I to have those lovely hot flashes sorry to say I’ve had them for 22 yrs. In our knitting group we each have them at different times it’s to funny . Anyway love all your projects.
Hi Ruth, enjoying your podcast while I’ve taken myself upstairs to knit in bed (on a dreary Belfast evening). The London Night Walk socks look like they’d be a good gift knit.
Thank you for another great video and I love watching all your podcasts. You’re so joyful and always leave me in good spirits. I’m just recovering from some surgery at the mo and knitting away as I watch. Xx
Texas is freezing and I am bundled on shawls and throws. I don't have any woolie socks and am feeling the motivation to learn. But I am busy teaching myself more Tunisian crochet so I can teach it. Love your podcasts and I always listen to the very end.
Ruth you are a joy to watch , I wish I was talented as you. Retired last year and tried to get into back into knitting I'm 63 .Good at aran so glad I came across your channel. Unfortunately I've developed trigger finger, wearing a splint at the moment, have never knitted a shawl, but you have inspired me kind regards Debora x
Thanks Ruth for sharing your projects and for sharing your insights on getting out of the boat. I just read that passage yesterday and what struck me is, Peter did fine until he focused on his surroundings (the wind and waves) rather than Jesus- something I need to remember when the going gets tough.
Ruth, you are amazing. Can't believe all the beautiful projects! and so quick! I don't blame you for your "resolution" and wanting to touch the yarn; i have done the same thing and ordered online and now I have odd skeins - but I'll find a use for them!. And I just want to say that I feel you get gifts for a reason, and I am sure encouraged by the lord, so welcome them and keep making beautiful things and inspiring people. Congrats on the 6K too!. and I love the color of your sweater....it's not drab at all!
Yeah! Another video from Ruth. Makes a great start to my day. Thank you for the inspiration you offer, and for sharing your testimony at the end of your videos. Cynthia (a surgical nurse who knits and crochets nearly every day, from Southern Maryland USA)
Ruth, as a bigger person I've come to the understanding that if I wear black, vertical stripes, detail that doesn't draw attention...I'm still going to be a bigger person! So wear the colour, wear horizontal stries, wear all the texture and detail you want! I affectionally call the back of my arms ham hocks! I have lipoedema so I don't have a choice on how I look, its me take me as I am! I love the Ella Gordon sweater, so pretty. I bought a few of the pattterns for Lam, can't wait to start one.
Hi Ruth. Such a lovely podcast and message. I've been going through your podcast catching up and listening to the latest as well. I feel very blessed to have met you on the zoom and your messages are so encouraging. I was telling my friend about you at church on Sunday. I can't believe how much knitting you have done so far. Rachel's sweater was the very first one I knit in the round when I started knitting again and I love it. I think the yarn suits you to. Finishing my Maggie shawl and yarn has arrived for my Simon. Loom forward to the next podcast. God Bless.😊
Hello Ruth, Thank you for another enjoyable video. I am so pleased you are up to 6000 subscribers - thoroughly deserved - and I hope you get many more. For me, it is the happiness and humour that spills out of you that is a joy to watch. And you do some pretty super knitting as well! I liked the fact you go as a family to get your hair done. It reminded me of a time my mother, I and my two sisters were going to a wedding (a very posh do - and we are NOT posh). So off to the hairdresser we went. All the women in our family go white haired very young (26 in my case). By the time the hairdressers had us all sorted out the whole salon looked like there had been an avalanche in the alps. All the other ladies having their hair done were in hysterics. Still one of my happiest family memories - although I can’t recall the wedding at all! Looking forward to your next video, but in the meantime, take care and have fun.
Well done on 6k subs, well deserved. Loved everything on your needles. Hope you won't get to cold tonight. Its freezing here in 🇮🇪. Take care, best wishes from 🇮🇪
I’m with you in regards to stash. I’m determined to use a lot of stash this year. So far I’ve done granddaughters sweaters, mittens, hat and cowl from stash that I have had over about three years. Felt so good😀 Thanks for showing your projects. Giving me some ideas.
Hi Ruth you again have absolutely amazed me yet again, your thoughtfulness and the amazing amount of you knit since last podcast just amazing .i love all your readings to I’m not church goer now I really do appreciate your readings .keep up all your brilliant works ect loved it all xxxx
Hi Ruth, everytime I watch you I feel extra motivated to knit while I watch, I dont know what the reason is, I watch plenty of podcasts but always get an extra strong urge to get the needles out when I sit down to yours, kooky. I loved Evas socks, she did choose well and I enjoyed your message at the end. I was just last night watching another Northern Irelander (not sure if thats how one says it), a pastor called John Lennox, the youtube video was titled Daniels message to the church today Professor John Lennox if you want to look it up. While you talked about scripture today I just couldnt get the video out of my head, perhaps theres something in there God wants you to hear so I thought I would pass it on, either way you have nothing to lose because it was a brilliant talk he gave on Daniel. Take care and happy click clacking. Tara
Hello Ruth from Maryland, US on a bit of snowy day. I love your vlogs so much. You have inspired me to get knitting on my own Wooly Waffle. We made a summer trip to a Canada’s Maritime provinces and I bought the yarn at a shop in Halifax Nova Scotia.
Love all your projects! As soon as I finish the two sweaters on my needles, I'm starting a T&P pattern - either the JoMo socks, or one of the Power of Three shawls. :)
Amen!!! 💞💞💞 Thank you, Ruth, for all you shared. God's love for us it's SOOOOO amazing and undeserving, but yet freely given. ❤ Your new projects are beautiful. It makes me wish i could wear pullovers too, but i can't, i need cardigans. Oh well, lots of lovely patterns out there for them too. Looking forward to seeing you next time. Enjoy your knitting! 💕🧶
Thank you for another lovely podcast. I knit the Lady Whistledown last autumn and I have had so many compliments when I wear it. I also bought the Simon shawl on release day but am waiting for East Anglian Yarn festival to purchase my yarn. I love the colours you have picked for yours.
Love all your new cast ones! Enjoyed this morning knitting with you. I’m decreasing a hat that was a UFO for quite a bit (years) it’s a Doctor Who hat for my hubby. I charted the color work and I’m using the “The Force Awakens” Hat by Hannah L. I replaced Star Wars with Doctor Who. One of the reasons it has taken so long is I miss placed the chart work pattern, then I found it but the project bag with the yarn was hiding (the house elf loves to hide things) 😂 and like some hubby’s he would move to the bottom of the knitting list. They can say or do the most aggravating things at times. But his hat will be done today! We actually are having really cold weather right now! We have had high temps of 74F and it is now 25F today. All in the first few weeks of January! Loved the Stephen West shawl you did! The navy blue trim is beautiful! I’m planing my Twinset and Purl knits! Thank you for the enjoyable morning! 💗🧶💗❤️
What a lovely, uplifting episode - sometimes we need to be reminded of our faith ❤ my parents are 89 and 87 and still go to church as often as health will let them, so faith has always been part of my life but sometimes I need reminders of what God and Jesus mean to me 🙏 On another note I don’t mind you talking about your menopause journey - it’s time our trials and tribulations of this part of a woman’s life were recognised and discussed! Let’s be honest if MEN had to go through this (I’m 65 so my night sweats and flushes have lessened but not gone) then I’m sure there would be a Government department set up to oversee medication and strategies!!! Rant over 😂 Thank you once again for a beautiful podcast and chat xxx
"Trust Him to carry you through the storm." YES. Thank you for the encouraging word today. It's been a rough week and I appreciate your encouraging podcast! Blessings to you, sweet Ruth. I am almost finished the Artus shawl and love it. Thank you!
Hi Ruth! I love all your new cast ons! My ears really perked up when you were talking about the commercial sock yarn because I had something odd happen to me the other day - I had been running errands and when I got home it was such a beautiful day that I took a walk (I usually wear athletic socks when I walk). After I got back home and took my shoes and socks off, it felt like the balls of my feet were burned or blistered! I was wearing a pair of my hand knit socks in Patons yarn. I’m not going to make that mistake again! I had never experienced that before. I love your podcasts and am slightly envious of how fast you finish your projects. I have only been knitting for a few years and am so slow. I was a crocheter to start and am definitely faster at crochet. Thanks for sharing your love of knitting with us! Take care!
Glad I'm not the only one who struggles with commercial sock yarn. It isn't a race. Aa long as you are enjoying knitting then it doesnt matter aboit your speed x
Thank you so much for sharing! I always look forward to see and hearing what you have to share! How many times do we not get out of the boat? Thank you for the reminder!❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for the Bible verses. On the 12th of this month, my daughter who was 40 lost her battle with cancer. Once again thank you for the Bible verses. Thank you for all you do. God bless you.
I am a regular viewer and thought I was subscribed, but just realized I wasn't Thanks for the reminder! I am now subscribed and hope I helped get you to your goal!
Ah, Ruth, I love your podcast! I grumbled at you a few episodes ago for so much chatter at the beginning but it hasn’t stopped me from watching. ❤️Today I hit that subscribe button for you…it looks like you made it to 6000! I enjoy all the knitting, but I especially appreciate your messages sharing reflections on the scripture. They encourage my heart. I just recently read that passage in Matthew about Peter. So many times I can relate to Peter. What I realized this time was that as long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus he could walk in the water. It was when he took his eyes off the Lord that he began to sink! That spoke to me and I know where I need to keep looking! Thank you for sharing with us. 🥰🥰
Congratulations Ruth. What a lovely milestone, 6,000 subs. As someone who has only done 4 episodes of my own podcast and was thrilled to get 100 subscribers, I can’t begin to imagine how wonderful it must feel 👏👏👏👏 We are going to Edinburgh for the 1st time this weekend and ginger twist is on my list. It is our 40th wedding anniversary so i am using it as an excuse to treat myself 😝 All your knits are fabulous as ever. Your shawl is gorgeous and i like the navy trim. Thanku for the lovely podcast xx
Lovely podcast, great WIPS. I’ve just bought the Simon shawl and can’t wait to cast it on. Lovely SewCanSue project bag. I had one very similar from her for Christmas and it’s so beautiful.👍😀🧶
Ruth, thank you for a joyful, inspiring podcast and message. BTW, I CO the Simon Shawl Saturday and it looks like you and I are at about the same place in our progress. Mine is red and white.
Thank you sooo much Ruth… as always, such a wonderful time to sit and knit with you 🥰👏🏼🧶
You’re joyful, genuine, uplifting and I like what you knit. That’s why I watch! Keep on keeping on!!!❤
Thanks so much xx
Thank you for the devotion at the end. Great projects and cast ons.
Oh, Ruth….you brought me to tears today….happily…🙏❤️…thank you

Thank you so much for all the new podcasts. You inspire me and now I have to go cast on three new pair of socks by Twinset & Purl.

Thanks Ruth for sharing your projects and for sharing your insights on getting out of the boat. I just read that passage yesterday and what struck me is, Peter did fine until he focused on his surroundings (the wind and waves) rather than Jesus- something I need to remember when the going gets tough.
I think I'm not so different to Peter.
Ruth, you are amazing. Can't believe all the beautiful projects! and so quick! I don't blame you for your "resolution" and wanting to touch the yarn; i have done the same thing and ordered online and now I have odd skeins - but I'll find a use for them!.

Beautiful color of the sweater

If I am over in NI we will have to meet up. Don't know when that will be though as my daughter is doing GCSEs this year. Maybe the summer x
Hello Ruth,
Thank you for another enjoyable video.
Love that story x
Well done on 6k subs, well deserved. Loved everything on your needles. Hope you won't get to cold tonight. Its freezing here in 🇮🇪.

Yumminess overload, congratulation on your 6k❤️

Happy New Year. Lovely knits. The sweater colours you have on and are working on look wonderful on you. Take Care.

It was when he took his eyes off the Lord that he began to sink! That spoke to me and I know where I need to keep looking! Thank you for sharing with us. 🥰🥰
Congratulations Ruth. What a lovely milestone, 6,000 subs. As someone who has only done 4 episodes of my own podcast and was thrilled to get 100 subscribers, I can’t begin to imagine how wonderful it must feel 👏👏👏👏
We are going to Edinburgh for the 1st time this weekend and ginger twist is on my list. It is our 40th wedding anniversary so i am using it as an excuse to treat myself 😝
All your knits are fabulous as ever. Your shawl is gorgeous and i like the navy trim.

Lovely podcast, great WIPS. I’ve just bought the Simon shawl and can’t wait to cast it on. Lovely SewCanSue project bag. I had one very similar from her for Christmas and it’s so beautiful.👍😀🧶
Happy knitting x

Ruth, thank you for a joyful, inspiring podcast and message. BTW, I CO the Simon Shawl Saturday and it looks like you and I are at about the same place in our progress. Mine is red and white.
I definitely want a red with something Simon Shawl x
Question about blocking socks. I am new to sock knitting. You mentioned blocking. Do you have to reblock every time they are washed?
Not at all. They will stretch out with wearing. Just nice when I podcast or gift them to make them look a bit prettier x
I don’t think the sweater you’re wearing is drab I think it’s classic. It looks very nice and the lace detail at the hem is really nice
Thank you x
