Fish, one of the best songrwriters. Marillion was never the same without him. The album "Vigil in a..." is brilliant as well. The feeling of the album made me think about Animals by Pink Floyd. Listening to him on this interview, ahh, as a dutchman, I love Scotland.
Great interview. I really love the Fish era Marillion. The lyrics were amazing. Also, the visual imagery was beautiful, surreal, and fitted the music so well.
That disparaging mention in The Young Ones was Neil the Hippy (Nigel Planer) expressing his love for the band, though Neil was held up as the epitome of all that was uncool and 20 years out of date. That said there was a huge group of people who loved Neil, myself and my sister included, and our friend Ceri and easily a few dozen others that we knew, so on that basis we bought Marillion records - and Hawkwind, the other band Neil mentioned - and we *loved* it. I remember learning all the words to "Misplaced Childhood". We'd sing songs from it on the way home from the pub on Saturdays.
He will be remembered for all the brilliant lyrics he has given us all these years . Fish your the man, thought provoking as ever thank you from a Dublin man who you have inspired over the years to write in your shadow some decent lyrics
Nice little interview there from Hayley, well done. He is so much more of an absolute legend than people think. Going to get all “parent-like” now…….. FISH!? YOU SAID YOU’d GIVE UP THE SMOKES! GO TO YOUR ROOM NOW!”
Should never have left. Tragic loss. The replacement front man in Marillion looks like one of the wizards from Harry Potter and has about the same presence and voice.
@@josephdemenezes1522 well the difference is that most of the Phil Collins Genesis material was still ok. A bit more ‘pop’ I would say but some of it was still fine. Whereas the Marillion material went down the shitter very quickly with a very few notable exceptions.
Absolutely love fish! Marillon was never the same without him ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
One of my favourite artists - watch his live every Friday night, he engages with his fans far more than your average legend
Fish, one of the best songrwriters.

Good to see Fish, 1985 was a great year for some of the best songs ever . ...... I left school that year in Durham England
Great interview. I really love the Fish era Marillion. The lyrics were amazing. Also, the visual imagery was beautiful, surreal, and fitted the music so well.
Long live the Big Man, still listen to all the fish marillion albums, absolutely love them still, Top man fish
Love Garden Of Remembrance. Very moving.
how did I miss this? Well done and what an album to call it quits with. Thank you Fish
I love him 😍

Lovely interview and beautiful new song ❤️
Brilliant
Great story about meeting Robert Plant. And I agree, „Big Log“ is such a beautiful, atmospheric song.
is it about doing poopoo in th etoilet?
Todos os álbuns do marillion com fish sao fantásticos . Ele em carreira solo deveria ter mantido o mesmo estilo de música.

He has now ! He vapes.
The Young Ones!
Love Fish
Phil Collins had the good taste to lay down the drum machine pattern on Big Log that set the tone for the track.
We used to be friends in 1975 /77 then he went to Australia

I like H but I'm definitely Team Fish in that regard. We all prefer Fish
Agreed but He was in my opinion too big for the others..like Gabriel on Genesis and.indeed Marillion like G was never the same...

Get words from fish but a very fake sounding anoying interviewer. She forgot to ask about his favourite colour
Lavender Blue? 😆
Green , He's a Hibee .
Maroon Burgundy
Could listen to Fish all day long, but I hope I never have to hear that awful presenter again
Brilliant
