I remember the Clutching At Straws show at Manchester Apollo, the rest of the band were not happy with Fish....The cracks were beginning to show! I had seen them on the Misplaced Childhood tour and it was magical!
I have seen Marillion many times since, with Steve Hogarth, and they are what they have always been, a superb live band with beautiful musical soundscapes!
Wonderful documentary... thanks for sharing
i remember seeing these trucks when i went to see them in liverpool royal court in 1986
Great look at the roadie side of life
Went to one of their shows at Wembley Arena on this tour. Waiting in traffic before the show, and this tall bloke in a raincoat walks past, head bowed. After doing a double-take, I realised it was Fish taking a constitutional before the show. The show was excellent, by the way.
many memories ....87 edinburgh playhouse a highlight...great band
Great upload.....merci!!
19:54 "Sledgehammer" from who you know.....announcing in advance the troubles coming with the singer departure from the band later on :) Sometimes, you never miss the clues.
They flubbed the end of Incomunicado, I bet Pete T is still agonising about that,
bless you
Saw marillion twice on this tour Hanley Victoria hall good concert but you could see cracks beginning
Then saw them a bit later at Sheffield city hall i after to say the band were on top form
Fish was excellent on this date
I think they should have had a big break after this tour to recharge the batteries
Although a few years later fish voice was starting to strain really bad
Fish lifestyle 10 years before finally caught up with him
Having said that marillion with fish is my favourite
4 classic albums that have stood the test of time
As Fish sang on white rusdian: Terror on the Rue De San Denis , Murder on the Periferique .
6:44 Who wrote on that flightcase.....Marillian? And 18:22 😆😆
Marillion was great with Fish 🐟. Since he left…..Hogarth destroyed everything, for me this Band does not exist anymore since 1988. I am still listening to the Fish era albums and I love them all.
Can I just draw your attention to the fact that when Marillion were trying to write the album that became Seasons End, Fish didn't like the direction the band were taking musically. The rest of the band were not happy with Fish's lyrics either.
Trouble had been brewing since before Cluthcing at Straws was recorded. When Steve Hogarth joined they just said be yourself. I have listened to Marillion for 39 years, Marbles, for example is amazing!
Hogarth allowed them to carry on.
@@progmeup I have listened to many Songs with Hogarth and I just don’t like his voice and the way how he sings. He does NOT fit to my personal taste, especially not with a band named Marillion. I have a sort of Hogarth allergy, when I hear him sing, I want to 🤮. But it’s not meant offensive in any way. Everybody has it‘s personal taste and preference.
@@mrsayang And that's perfectly reasonable. But they did create a very impressive catalogue of songs with him, which is appreciated by many people (maybe not as many as the lineup with Fish). I admit his voice took some getting used to, but without him there would be no "Neverland", which I think is one of the best songs that has ever been recorded by anybody.
@@progmeup yes...thanks for the comment. You are right. Good that you and many others like him, it's totally fine for me. I saw Marillion 1987 in a Live Concert with Fish and I was blown away by their great performance and the singing and stage presence of Fish. I miss that era a lot.
4-48 James LaBrie is you?.....
Shame Fishes head got to massive
I am thinking this is Dec 13-14 1987?
