- Budgie is the debut album of British hard rock band Budgie. It was released in June 1971 through MCA Records. The US version on Kapp Records includes "Crash Course in Brain Surgery", originally released as a single and covered by Metallica on their 1987 EP Garage Days Re-Revisited. "Homicidal Suicidal" has also been covered by the Seattle grunge band Soundgarden. Canadian band Thrush Hermit covered "Nude Disintegrating Parachutist Woman" on the album All Technology Aside, included on the 2010 "The Complete Recordings Box Set". The opening track "Guts" can be seen as a precursor to doom metal.

Saw Budgie at The Night Gallery in Waukegan with Captain Beyond in '76 I think...lotta brain cells ago. "Onward thru the fog!"
@@roberthill8744 I know they were in the States in the 'fall of '76. If not Chitown then Philly maybe. I know they weren't touring the US much then but I definitely saw them somewhere. Great band.
@@roberthill8744 I feel very fortunate to have grown up in that era. There were so many great bands in the 70’s. So many great festivals. I have a daughter born in ‘96 who loves to hear about Queen, Zeppelin, Bad Company, Kansas. Just to name a few. Budgie was a band that I tend to forget but always kicked ass. When I play that first album it still gets people’s attention. “Who is that?” lol
Budgie. The Welsh answer to the Led Zeppelin question. Awesome. Burke Shelley is the man.
WHaT ABOUT THE LIVING..! WHat ABOUT THE dEAD..!
@NickHill668 What do you mean "Your music"? I listen to Budgie all the time! I was curious as to whether or not the bass was purposely mixed high in this song or not.
Why the fuck is the bass so high?
