One more time, I want to share with my channel followers another sample that shows customized square diamonds.
This pattern can be used on car door panels and other interior parts. Besides, on furniture too. In fact, bigger projects involve adjustments to the basic pattern according to the panel we would like to customize.
I have again used Latex Eva foam 6 mm thick and thin Celtec cardboard (by the way Celfil cardboard is much more flexible and better quality). Thes products are used in the shoemaking industry for shoes' insoles.
A layer of vinyl is sewn down to the thin, flexible cardboard following the desired pattern. The thin cardboard is then glued down to a hard cardboard piece.

What size thread? What color? Measurement of scales? The foot on your machine? Did you make it??
I used a polyester thread, pink color, 138 size. The rhombs/diamonds for this samples are 5x5 cm
I made the foot prototype by hand

I am stiĺl trying that glue you used with the heat gun a few years back! Cant find it in europe! When you dic the door panal sample! Also am presuming that thread is 69/40's in UK speak?
I used a 138 size polyester thread for top stitching on this current video.
Regarding the polyurethane glue that is activated with heat there is a list of suppliers in the first anchored comment of a related video attached below. Hopefully you could a similar one in the UK : ua-cam.com/video/TIKF6NvXHE4/v-deo.html

How do you finish the thread on top without a backstitch?
The thread ends on top are pulled down through to the reverse side, then glued down to the cardboard.

Square diamonds 5x5 cm These measurements can change according to personal taste and size of the panel.

I made it myself by hand. A lathe operator can do a better similar one.

It is not advisable for seats. A flat pattern will be much better.
No problem for door panels and other car interior parts.
A headboard in a bedroom would look nice. As mentioned in the description these are just samples and some adjustments will be necessary according to the project in mind.
Not for the seating surface...the high spots will wear prematurely.
