pro tip: wet all the perlite in a strainer so that all of it is moist. strain out all the water and place the perlite in the box. put the cuttings in and give it a good mist. i also put some water in so that there’s about a centimeter of water on the bottom for the roots to suck up once they start forming. i find this method the best and the roots grow like crazy. dry perlite won’t really work
I so need to channel your watering style... I be hitting the plants hard with the watering can so I almost never trust myself to top water 😭 Loved this vlog ❤
I have a perlite prop box that has a TON of Cebu Blue rooting. Like 50+ wet sticks and 20 one leaf cuttings! I have abour 1/4" of water in the box and it keeps the perlite nice and damp.
Wow I’ve never heard of propagating plants in perlite, really cool! Also why does my perlite go yellow or brown when it’s on top on my plants when I water? Surely those ones would go yellow too being watered directly on perlite?
My prop box stresses me. They are growing, but sometimes I get mold, or the roots just stop growing and I can't ever move them.. . It's just a lot of stress
Get you some mosquito bits. It’s way cheaper and way more effective. Sticky traps are moreso for the adults but they don’t live very long. Mosquito bits will knock down the larvae/babies and help prevent future infestations. You can even just sprinkle them in the soil and it’ll take your prevention up another notch.
I have a quick question I have a Caladium and it has been In a temporary spot for way to long, and it’s starting to get discoloration and brown spots I was wondering is that from having all filtered light? The discoloration is like lime leaves and light pink leaves rather than dark pink leaves and green leaves. I checked it’s not root rot. This video rly made me want more plants 😂. Your an inspiration.
Caladium usually do a lot better outdoors! Indoors they do require a lot of light, frequent watering, and preferably humidity. Luckily they grow fast so I'm sure she will bounce back.

Could be the fertiliser in the dirt? My perlite goes yellow from that!
@@lauren3757 oh yes maybe, thanku 👍🏻
Mine only turns yellow with soil. The perlite alone stays white. I have two prop boxes, one has pon mixed w the perlite
@@mwoods4608 o ok. Didnt know if it was just me. Maybe i was buying wrong perlite😂
Btw, where did you get your repotting table? I really love it! It helps with the no mess on your floor situation.
i think you’re talking about my plantfolio! plantfolio.co :)
Yes I am! Sorry I didn't know what it was called. Thank you for sharing the link. I need to get myself one. Each time I repot a plant, I make a mess.
Pitcher plant!

Do you have a link to those soil boxes?
I got some nematodes for the fungus gnat problem 🤣 it’s soooo bad I don’t think sticky traps could do it
interesting!! fingers crossed it works for ya

😍👍👌
I have a question, why is my string of perals molding
not sure! maybe you overwatered and the balls exploded? could be rotting that way
Thank you
Watering the prop box leaving the leaves wet is scary. I soaked my perlite first n then added the cuttings.
Where could we get your shirt??
my merch shop is linked in my description box! goodandplanty.store
Awesome!! Thank you!
