- Making a dragon in a hurry - can I use PU Resin for something this deep? I've only used it for very shallow pours before so lets see. And will it work with the Just4YouOnlineUK Ignition Glitters?
Update - since the release of this video some of my subscribers who were in the live premiere chat and I agreed we'd call this technique Alien Crystals :)

I only found out recently too. I'm in discussions with Let's Resin to see if they will launch a black version of their PU Resin so watch this space

I only found out recently too, one of the viewers told me. it comes in a few colours apparently. I'll be testing the Let's Resin one soon but so far they only do it in white

Hiya Tracey. Hmm my dodgy memory won't allow me to recall which of the Blue Peter projects I made as a kid. However I do recall entering several of their compertiopns and was delighted to come runner up 1 time. It was for drawing a poster for helping save the planet. Boy does that bring back memories lol. I got a keychain pen thingy, a book voucher and the thing I was most happy about was "A Blue Peter Badge" and I am pretty sure I still have it tucked away with my important documents lol. The highlight of my childhood lol.
Anyway, great video as always. Love those flakes (not tried mine yet) and the dragon is adorable.

Me too! I did read up and google said that depending on the brand it could handle anything from 1cm to 3 cm so I thought I'd try it. I'm getting some of the Let's Resin white one soon as that's the only colour they currently do PU in, I'll do a review of that and see how deep it will work to

I did think that advent crowns were rather dangerous and I bet they wouldn’t be allowed nowadays what with health and safety. Tracy island was huge in our house
Yes they were, they stopped making them in the end. You know, I never made a Tracy Island> I really should have. Do you remember the tissue paper snowman? Ours came out of the loft for several christmas's
Here in France, I've only been able to get PU Resin in White or Beige... Hoping that will change. From the UK, I may not be able to .. sans Customs charges, that is ...😊😮
@@alcg3981 I hope so. Until recently I could only find white but people have sent me links to find other colours. You can colour it of course, or paint it afterwards, but dark solid colours like black would be practically impossible with just white available

I have a gnome mold that's close to 4" tall x 2 1/2" wide and it does a fine job there too, cures very fast though! But I like that! 😁

Loved blue peter ! Yes I wanted to do Tracy island but they kept running out of fact sheets 😕 And I think those advent crowns were a bit dangerous as I'm sure I remember one catching fire once 😁

Yes the black is great for this sort of thing. Let's Resin are sending me some of their brand to try but currently it's only available in white. Apparently if it works out popular they might do it in black too in time

I remember Blue Peter & yes I got a badge. I'm in my 60's so have no recollection of the stuff I'd make!!! Only the white PU stuff available to me in Canada,wish they had decent spouts on those bottles. I'm sure I've lost a good bit to spillage. Most I've used is 20mls each at a time. Not brave enough to do more! Your Dragon turned out very nice.

Thanks, and yes go for it. It's a bit scary at first as you have so little work time but if you're impatient like me its magic for quick results. i'll soon have some of the Let's Resin PU to try so I'll let everyone know how I find it

It looks quite beautiful. Not sure about the brand you're using, I haven't used it before,but I have poured quite deep with let's resin PU and they came out nice. .I love that dragon.
At the time it was the only brand I could find in black. I am getting some of the Let's Resin one to try but at the moment they only do it in white. I hope they do black in future as us resin people use a lot of black
@miniscenesgb I hope let's resin comes out with black, too. I hope I didn't sound negative with my comment, I just wanted you to know you could probably make a deeper pour safely if you had something you wanted to do. You make outstanding things

Why can't you mix the black with the quick white powder?????
white powder? Meaning Eco Pour? I have no idea what that would do, I've not tried it but I'm not sure why you would want to? Polyurethane resin cures very fast and is available in white too - Eco Pour is a water based casting powder intended for different results all together - its like a ceramic and eco friendly finish rather than a hard chemically plastic finish like this polyurethane. I I wouldn't now why to try mixing both and I am not sure what the chemical reaction might be. Eco Pour has a catalyst in it that is activated by water. What did you have in mind, so I can answer better please?
Looks amazing, colours so vibrant and beautiful. Would this be suitable for exterior use on ornamental decorative pieces?
I think so! Not 100% sure though - Ive had a piece outdoors all winter so by summer we'll have a definitive answer on that question

I'm a 54 year old woman that Remembers Blue Peter so fondly I Loved it it had a bit of all sorts on it . I can Remember they always had there regular dogs that was on the shows every time. I don't know if anyone that watched it the 1st Dog that was on, It was a Black & White Sheep Dog called Sheep he was Beautifull, Then I think after & I'm not sure just befor Sheep didn't appear any more the 2nd Dog was either a Golden Ritrever or a Labridore I think it las a Labridor & her name I think was Bonnie I'm not 100% sure. Please anyone if I'm wrong please tell me

Smooth on has an onyx fast and slow PU resin. Its Sooo much better than epoxy resin IMO and you don't need to torch it. 😂
I've not heard of that brand do they have it in the UK? , I'll look out for it. I don't tend to torch it, just seeing if you can. I don;t think it will ever replace epoxy resin until they find a way of making it clear. You can't do effects like Larimar or even Petri with it either. But it's a fab alternative if you just want fast. I have some of let's resin's brand on the way so i'll be reporting on that soon
