I love the things you make - you make it look so easy. I hope to start making items with the molds I have bought. I have no understanding of resins yet. I need the easièst to work with. Keep up your great work. Elaine Park. Spain.
Hi Marva! The PU makes great castings for Painting. Acrylic Paint and many more mixed media products work awesome with PU. It tints perfectly with Black too!
beautiful, especially the shell. Im going to be trying that , the dusting the mold with mica powder first. Totally beautiful and such smooth, even results.
It is a great idea, but I am very slow when working on projects. I'd be like Sherry Moulton and end up with big white blob of white poop. Lol! Great experiment to see how each works with the resin.😊
That shell came out gorgeous as did the Hummingbird. Makes sense the resin transparent dye wouldn’t work as well as alcohol ink. But the other two I ❤.
I have never used a liquid colour in PU I just never trusted it and as I usually use black and not white PU. I love brushing mica on first as it comes out so lovely. Putting foil leaf in your mould also looks fab. I love it as it is so fast. You can also spray with alcohol to de bubble.
Polyurethane works great for outdoor projects. It also does not yellow in UV light like many epoxy resins. I have seen artists add a few drops of water to it to create a seafoam like consistency which holds stays when the cure is finished. I have not played with it yet. So it's great to see you work with it. Thank you! The Holo on your hummingbird turned out stunning! Thanks for testing it. I would love to see a clear epoxy coat over the shell. I bet it would seal the chameleon color shift powder and really make it shine. I wonder if it would all give the illusion of depth as well. This product would be great for resin lamps bent at shaped at mid cure.
yes, I've seen demos of them doing a flat round plate and at 8 min. (or when it's first all white) into the cure, they shape it over a low bowl and also flute the edges, it's gorgeous!
Good tutorial for a new product. Watched it a few times ; still not jazzed up about it but ordered some so I can try it out. Again you made the tutorial easy to follow thank you. Have a great evening.
It's fun and has its purpose..I love all art supplies that help me create..I will still be using my regular resin and uv but there will be time I use this as well .nice to have a variety
@@marvelous4363 Oh me too, some epoxy resin small thin things NEVER fully cure. I like to make lots of little inclusions like tiny hearts, bears, stars, butterflies, etc. S&T is always giving us tiny little molds. I have a bunch. BUT, I must use curing machine or the heated mat or they will never cure. I have gone to using my colored UV resin on these tiny things. Even so, I cure them in the nail curing thing well, then I set them on the windowsill for a week. After all that if you put them in a ziploc or tight container, and open it a month later, it stinks and is sticky. Some resin refuses to harden. That's ok in these inclusions. But I made some leaves and pumkins for fall and my husband picked some up months later and complained because they were sticky and it was hard to wash it off his hands. sooooo. Looking forward to the hardness.
@@marvelous4363 One thought about this resin thought. You know how you go crazy and mix up WAYY too much resin?. Well, I'm going to make sure I have half a dozen things to pour resin in at all times RIGHT THERE by my work because I always make too much resin and with this I know there will not be time to go get a mold to pour into. I think you have to have everything all set to go and then, 1, 2, 3, POUR. LOL I'll pour a LOT of white inclutions. and I have buckets of glitter. I'm going to see if I can't put in a half ton of glitter and get it to show up on that white. maybe dust the mold with glitter before I pour. Also I want to try like a clear round mold filled with clear or a light resin. Then I want to drop this white resin into it right before it hardens. See if I can make drips.
This will be wonderful to make white things and put stickers on them. I have used about 100 of the stickers you gave me for winning the drawing THANK YOU. I still have hundreds left. Then I bought some from that sticker place you put links to. They are lovely but so hard to get that backing peeled off. However, They are going to get more use. There are some lovely holographic stickers I just hate to use. I think I am making everyone a trinket dish with a sticker for Christmas this year.
I think you should try "painting" a mold with resin tint before pouring. Might be interesting. 🤔 Could stain the mold though. 😅 Alcohol ink could work better that way too if you wait for the alcohol to evaporate. Again, risky to the mold so maybe use one you're not too fond of, lol.
Does it have an odor? I've seen alcohol ink work when it gets mixed in all the way. So glad that the mica works - it's so shiny! So glad that the holographic molds work too. They're both gorgeous. So much fun!
Wondering if you sprinkled glitter on the mold first w/o mixing it in the resin, then poured the resin over it, maybe then the glitter might show up more? Can't wait to try things out.
It has its strength and weakness..I love my regular resin but this is something different..I like how hard it cures. some one said they have a brand that cures black that would be perfect for things dusted with the micas..
That's fine there are uses for them all. I love my regular resin but I do like this a little more than my UV Resin. It works beautiful for small items.i so I'll like my UV but this cures so hard and smooth.
@marvelous4363 I think I'm so partial to my slow cure is because I like the way my different pigments meld together to get those awesome effects. That's the whole reason I love resin art, is for the cool effects I get while it's slowly curing If I ever want to make a bunch of white blobs over and over again, I guess this would be the go to. 😆 🤣 😂
@@Ali-H3444 marva acquired some really cool affects with this PU and none of them were white the mica looked just as good on these moulds compared with resin imo …still each to their own 😎😁✌️❤️
Experiments are so much fun!! These are fantastic, May have to try this resin out! Have a great day
Very pretty!!
Okay I've been on the fence about this but now I want it! Yours is the 1st I've seen! Thanks for sharing!

What a Game Changer !!! Love the Mica Powder result as well as the Holographic Butterfly !!! Way To Go !!! 😻😻😻

That’s pretty awesome stuff! I really want to try it. Thanks for trying some products to test that helps us all out. They really turned out great. 😊
I watched Daniel earlier. Great job! Now we know u can brush molds and use holographic molds!
Wow wow we don’t have on uk site yet 😢 these projects came out amazing ❤❤❤ those them
Hi becky, UK here.. yes now in UK via Lets Resin
This is so cool, and I didn't know they came out with this. I need to order some. Your pieces came out very nicely ❤
It just came out Friday. It's a great addition to the resin family
Awesome, hummingbird and sea shell turn out gorgeous!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
You are welcome ❤️

Very cool 🎉
Beautiful I love the mica powder and holographic 😊
Thank you for doing the experiments for us. Results of the mica and holographic are cool.
I'm so excited for the micas

I plan to do some more work with this stuff. Gonna try topcoating and a statue.

Thanks, you tried a thing or two that I haven't seen yet. Like mixing dye into the mix and the holographic mold.
Beautiful

Love it. If you heat your mold up before pouring, it sets quicker. I've used the Alumilite™ Amazing Casting Resin.
Very cool. I make a lot of white items. I'm usually in no hurry but it might be fun to have it done so quick.
It hardens very well..some on my smaller items some time have problems hardening well

thank you so much as i want to try mine .. was just wondering wot i could put in there, so seeing u brush the mica in, i will try that 1st. so thank u
No problem I want the black version of it now..
I just saw Toonpish crafts using this product and she poured from the side of the container, said it was much easier. Hope this helps

So glad I found your channel, so very informative, thanks so much for sharing! Any idea how deep you can pour this type of resin?
I think when I did the conversion to oz it was 7 oz ..so small to med pours

I thought about that after I was done..
Sherry Moulton and Claire's Crafty Corner just used this too.
So did Daniel Cooper also
Hi, awesome pieces! I am confused by the droppers-what were you doing? It was off camera so I couldnt tell. ❤
Using them to get the resin out of the bottle.vwjen they are really full bottles it's hard to pour a tiny amount without spilling it.
Love love love that you tried all of these techniques I was thinking of. I wonder if you could mix with uv resin to get clear sections?
Maybe I'm gonna try some experiment
@@marvelous4363 ill be looking for that ....thanks ...your work is awesome
That leveling table you showed in one of your videos could you tell me what kind. I’m not sure which video it was. Thanks

Yeah, I’m too slow, too!
Where did you get the resin and the mica powder? I am in love with it

Sorry but I'm not impressed. Just being honest, I'll be sticking to my beautiful slow curing resin.
