    Interesting experiment Tracey 🤩 Well done! It may be something I try in the future, let us know how the UV testing goes in an update vid. Yes, definitely needs some more experiments for sure. I'm sure you will unlock some great pros with it in more experiments, it definitely beats the boring black or white PU limitations 😍😍😍x

    I think you definitely have something with the pu Petrie effect. I think I like it better than the epoxies one. The cabochons look like planets, or super cool natural stones, with what is called fortifications. So exciting. Quick cure expoxy is generally a thicker consistency whereas in my experience PU is useful for incredibly detailed pieces. You should try a really detailed mould and you'll probably find that is the benefit over a thicker quick cure epoxy resin

    • @miniscenesgb
      @miniscenesgb  10 місяців тому

      That is a good point, that's why I tend to use low viscosity deep cast epoxy in very deep moulds - which takes a couple of days at least to cure. So yes, a very good pont indeed

      Good question, I've not tried that yet. I'll add that to my list of next t questions to answer for when I get another batch of the resin.

    Alcohol inks do not work well with most P.U. resin. The Let's Resin P.U. resin has some videos about making a tie dye effect with alcohol inks. Some of the resin inks will work. I've found the cheaper ones don't. The acrylic inks are an absolute NO. Most dry ingredients work well, but I have found that the P.U. resins DO NOT like mold release, so if you keep your molds soft by storing them with mold release, definitely wipe them down. NO water based anything. Water will make it bubble over. I hope that helps!

      Yes definitely. I have a whole video on that on my channel. And this video here was to answer specific questions on clear PU, rather than the white let’s resin one

      @@miniscenesgb They definitely have their own properties. I usually use the illumilite P.U. resin, otherwise called model pro and color pro. They have black, white and clear. The color pro is the clear, and it takes some practice to get used to the particular needs of that resin.
