When the Lord called me to his way, I was addicted to porn and masturbation; I was addicted and I didn't see a way to be free from from it, but through his GRACE and mercy I was freed from it. I got sick and was in pain for almost three years, and my desperation I turned to the Lord and asked Him healed me and one of my promises to Him was not to live in a sinful way anymore. This is deceitful. Homosexuality is clearly a sin in the Bible. It’s not condemning you for you can turn to Jesus and repent and sin no more. Thieves and adulterers are also sinners everyone is. Besides, the Bible provides clear qualifications for the office of the bishop (overseer), pastor or elder in a local church. In his first letter to his spiritual son in the faith, the apostle Paul writes to Timothy, 1 Timothy 3:1-2 1 This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop, he desires a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, THE HUSBAND OF ONE WIFE, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; A bishop is just another way of saying overseer or pastor. It’s talking about someone who has been entrusted by the Lord with spiritual oversight over a local congregation of believers. Now, with reference to the romantic and sexual relationship option for a “male” bishop or pastor’ the Bible makes it clear: his only option is a wife, not a husband. Also, notice 1 Timothy 3:2 doesn’t say “trans” wife, so there’s no wiggle room for a man identifying as a woman there either. Arguing that Christianity is diverse because some christians are homophobes and some aren't is like arguing that a specific strain of the flu is diverse because some people who get it die and some survive. A tolerant Christian isn't a different kind of Christian, they are simply less Christian, analogous to how someone who got a less severe case of the same flu was less sick than someone who died of the same flu.

@@johndSolis The difference is, there is no "doctrine" or set of tenets guiding the BLM movement, the LGBTQ+ community, or feminism. The LGBTQ+ community in particular represents a diverse group by definition (hence all of the letters). And while there are different schools of thought within feminism broadly, none of them are codified in the way that Christianity is. Black Lives Matter is both an "organization" AND a broader "movement" (where people tend to conflate the two things). The ONLY thing they have in common is support for black lives, but everything else in terms of politics and goals is on the table. So you're really comparing apples to oranges here. It's a poor analogy because Christianity is supposedly guided by a single source document (the Bible), which is supposedly the inspired word of God. It is this "thing" which they venerate that compels MOST of them to adopt harmful, bigoted attitudes towards the LGBTQ+ community. Yes, there are SOME gay friendly churches and yes there are many Christians who are not homophobic or transphobic. But they are the minority! They don't take it as seriously as the fundamentalists. Hating gay people is something that is taught in Christian churches of many denominations! When you break that down by numbers, it looks like this: The Catholic Church (68,202,492 members), The Southern Baptist Convention (16,136,044 members), The United Methodist Church (7,679,850 members), The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (6,157,238 members), The Church of God in Christ (5,499,875 members), Jehovah’s Witnesses (2,500,000 members). Of those groups, ONLY the United Methodist Church is LGBTQ+ affirming. And while many Lutherans, Presbytarians, and Episcopalians could also be seen as "gay friendly", the rest of them deny membership based on LGBTQ+ identity and actively harm the gay and transgendered community. That’s 89,838,411 (Mainstream Christians), 6,157,238 (Mormons), and 2,500,000 (Jehovah’s Witnesses) which totals at least 98,495,649 people out of 331,000,000 Americans. Nearly 1/3 of all Americans - all identifying as “Christian”, who were specifically taught as part of their doctrine that gay men deserved the death penalty (Leviticus 20:13), that homosexuality is akin to murder, that gay people do not go to heaven (1 Corinthians 6:9-10), and that the LGBTQ community does not deserve the same rights as straight people. That is not just some indistinct scattering of "toxic people" masquerading as Christian. No, that's is called "Christianity"! That's what the Bible says (in English), and that's how most Christians who read it interpret it. The LGBTQ+ affirming Christians who are members of Christian churches represent an outlier group and exist as the minority. And they are no doubt considered heretics by the larger Christian community. Christianity is an open-door to find dogma, hate, and rejection and unlike other groups - this behavior is codified in their doctrine! You don't just get to somehow pretend that this is equivalent to the "bad apples" among BLM, LGBTQ people, and feminists. Yes, one CAN interpret the Bible differently. Particularly if you do your do diligence and employ intensive research into Hebrew and Greek, and putting them in their proper written and historical context as Brandan does. But how many Christians actually do this? Most don't because it's too hard or time consuming (or rather they just don't know any better). It's easier for them to just "absorb" beliefs from their culture, the tradition, and their pastor. The poll results you brought up are interesting: That people associate Christianity with being anti-LGBTQ as the top of the list. The reason is: It's easy for people to talk about sins they don't personally struggle with. So, for most Christians, homosexuality is an easy sin to condemn. The vast majority of those pointing the finger & obsessing over that particular sin (which they aren't tempted with) avoid any discussion of other anti-Christian views they may promote - which is a sin. For example, almost all of them likely believe Heliocentrism & even dogmatically defend it... despite the fact the Bible explicitly & obviously teaches a Flat & stationary Earth from cover to cover. When it's brought up the Bible teaches that - they simply make things up & lie. It's ridiculous.

Technically the Bible doesn't condemn the person. You can struggle with same sex attraction. It becomes a sin when you act on that attraction. It is homosexual sex that is condemned in the Bible. A person struggling with same sex attraction needs to do like the Bible. The Bible says to live Holy and in cleanliness. So that means you need to pledge celibacy. You need to live a single life or remain a virgin. Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 are clear as day about homosexual sex being a sin. Romans 1:26-27 punishes idolaters by making them engaging in homosexual promiscuous sex. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 tells us abusers of themselves with mankind won't inherit the Kingdom of God (Heaven). I think what is best to do is to understand what the concept on why "gey" was condemned in the Bible. Like what did people do around that time when it was written in the scripters. God is against all forms of sexual immorality, including LGBTism. We can't change God's standard of holiness just to suit "our identity" as a person. We must come to grips that God is very holy and no sin can ever enter into heaven. When the Lord called me to his way, I was addicted to porn and masturbation; I was addicted and I didn't see a way to be free from from it, but through his GRACE and mercy I was freed from it. I got sick and was in pain for almost three years, and my desperation I turned to the Lord and asked Him healed me and one of my promises to Him was not to live in a sinful way anymore. The Lord healed my body and also He freed me from my desires of the flesh. It was all thanks to his GRACE. I can’t say that I am a Christian and continue watching porn, etc. But it is all thanks to His GRACE. I could do it on my own. Lord used my sickness and pain for me to turn to Him and freed me from the sins of the flesh.

Ezekiel 16:49-50 very clearly explains the Sin of Sodom, and nowhere in there does it mention homosexuality. [49 “‘Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. 50 They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen."]

This is deceitful. Homosexuality is clearly a sin in the Bible. It’s not condemning you for you can turn to Jesus and repent and sin no more. Thieves and adulterers are also sinners everyone is. The word queer is intended to be an all-inclusive umbrella term within the LGBTQIA+ community that is used as a quick identifier, without being too specific about one’s sexual orientation or gender identity.
However, there’s no such thing in the Bible. You can’t be both a queer and a pastor because the terms are diametrically opposed to each other. Besides, the Bible provides clear qualifications for the office of the bishop (overseer), pastor or elder in a local church.
In his first letter to his spiritual son in the faith, the apostle Paul writes to Timothy,
1 Timothy 3:1-2
1 This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop, he desires a good work.
2 A bishop then must be blameless, THE HUSBAND OF ONE WIFE, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach;
A bishop is just another way of saying overseer or pastor. It’s talking about someone who has been entrusted by the Lord with spiritual oversight over a local congregation of believers.
Now, with reference to the romantic and sexual relationship option for a “male” bishop or pastor’ the Bible makes it clear: his only option is a wife, not a husband. Also, notice 1 Timothy 3:2 doesn’t say “trans” wife, so there’s no wiggle room for a man identifying as a woman there either.

The words “elder, bishop, overseer and pastor,” all seem to denote the same office or function in the local church, so we see them being used interchangeably. Again, they’re simply talking about someone who has been entrusted by the Lord with spiritual oversight over a local congregation of believers.
It appears from the above verse (verse 5), that elders (or bishops, overseers and pastors) were lacking in Crete and/or other cities, so the apostle Paul provided a list of qualifications so that Titus would then be able to appoint (or ordain) those who were “called” by the Lord to that ministry office.
Now, let’s address something else you stated.

And while many Lutherans, Presbytarians, and Episcopalians could also be seen as "gay friendly", the rest of them deny membership based on LGBTQ+ identity and actively harm the gay and transgendered community.
That’s 89,838,411 (Mainstream Christians), 6,157,238 (Mormons), and 2,500,000 (Jehovah’s Witnesses) which totals at least 98,495,649 people out of 331,000,000 Americans. Yes, one CAN interpret the Bible differently. Particularly if you do your do diligence and employ intensive research into Hebrew and Greek, and putting them in their proper written and historical context as Brandan does. It's easier for them to just "absorb" beliefs from their culture, the tradition, and their pastor. The poll results you brought up are interesting: That people associate Christianity with being anti-LGBTQ as the top of the list. The reason is: It's easy for people to talk about sins they don't personally struggle with. So, for most Christians, homosexuality is an easy sin to condemn. The vast majority of those pointing the finger & obsessing over that particular sin (which they aren't tempted with) avoid any discussion of other anti-Christian views they may promote - which is a sin. For example, almost all of them likely believe Heliocentrism & even dogmatically defend it... despite the fact the Bible explicitly & obviously teaches a Flat & stationary Earth from cover to cover. I think what is best to do is to understand what the concept on why "gey" was condemned in the Bible. Like what did people do around that time when it was written in the scripters. There’s actually another passage in Scripture that speaks about homosexuality, but it’s a euphemism so it’s easily missed. 2 Samuel 3:29, and the context is a curse.

But we are supposed to believe that only this one sexual misconduct is to be scrutinized via cultural context? Or do you assert that sex with an aunt or sibling, or sex with an animal has possible merit in some contexts???

Once a church decides the homosexual act is not a sin, to be consistent that church must decide greed, theft, adultery, anger, drunkenness, gossip and slander are no longer sins either.

God is against all forms of sexual immorality, including LGBTism. We can't change God's standard of holiness just to suit "our identity" as a person. We must come to grips that God is very holy and no sin can ever enter into heaven. We must believe that Jesus Christ is the only One who can save us from our sins, because He has paid for them with His blood. He can change your desires to be after the things that He considers holy and righteousness, including living in purity before marriage.
It is not a sin to be tempted. It is a sin to give in to the temptation. This is what has happened to our so called Christian schools and cemeteries because that is what they have become. They are dead and apostate which isn’t a surprise because the Bible says that this would happen in the last days and clearly we are living in the last days. We are all sinners in need of a Savior and that is Jesus Christ. Without the Holy Spirit, we are unable to overcome. Jesus said that we would have trials and tribulations but He said that he has overcome the world.
