I love the fact that you bought a VCR to appreciate a viewer's gift. ***That's*** fan service... above and beyond, my man, above and beyond.
Hell yes. The time lapse VCR I used to make it died a few weeks ago.
KCUF: The best kcufing station on the air!
I was a security guard in an office building in the 1990s. We had a 24 hour VHS VCR. In a locked case was the VCR and a stack of tapes numbered 1 to 31, used in rotation, 31 Spares, properly numbered were kept if a tape had to be "pulled" from rotation, in case ANYTHING happened. (IIRC, They were plain old T-120 VHS tapes.), I do recall they were from from Radio Shack! - (I was the guy sent to get them when new!)and being that I worked 2300-0700 or (11Pm -7Am to you MERE MORTALS!) got to change the tape at 00:00 every night. (OK, More like 23:59:58..) Ours had no sound, BUT-It recorded 5 cameras!! I would LOVE to see THOSE tapes played at SP on a "normal" VHS deck!!!
9:24- Welcome to Oddity Archive...on a 50 year old VHS dubbed in SLP mode underwater.
I tink I may have literal boxes of unmarked videotapes. They're all my son's old children's TV shows from 20 years ago. The labels all got old and fell off. I could be cruel and send 1000 hours of unmarked Teletubbies...
I like it x
Woke up late, that that's OK. A new Oddity Archive is s a great way to start a Thursday morning.
The guy from Manos is on his last legs too.
Well... Technically, he should be on his last HANDS.
I do have a recording of vhs tapes and one of them was an eas test like the 18 hour tape, muffled audio, visible grain, and minor color glitches
Was not expecting a 12voltvids crossover today
i like the hissy noise&flutter version of your theme song!
Those are pretty cool. Sanyo made a time-lapse open-reel VTR in the late 60s, you should look out for one. Databits has one
I would love to have this recorder to make a time-lapse of the view from my window.
I need one of these to catch whoever is stealing my girlfriends mail.
I got a camera for the computer, but the software I tried wouldn't recognize the camera.
This seems like much less of a headache with pretty much no learning curve.
This was probably used with an old home security camera system or something.
Maybe, but it would have been higher end for home use., more likely a lower end commercial (mom and pop) use case.
@@jamesslick4790 That also seems reasonable. Probably came with a camera or two as well
Hope you post the whole tape to Archive Annex!
I guess Temponaut uses the same technology
Love the vhs intro on vhs videos! Accruals recorded it to a vhs!
Actually
Wait, First Alert? The...company that makes cheapo smoke detectors?
It's a "name" in "security", So..Yeah. I have a pair of Smith & Wesson handcuffs.
Well, I actually have quite a bit of VHS tapes, a majority of them being from a school. So, you know what kind of content is on there.
I guess you just found something for the hipsters that think SLP mode is just not shoddy enough
