You know the workshop is gonna be good when "Kaz" Kazanoff and Nick Connolly bring the stories.

Teaming up together for an hour of Jazz and Blues with the splash of New Orleans sound, Nick Connolly on the keys, and Mark “Kaz” Kazanoff on Sax work with students of camp on improvisational ideas and band stand awareness. To touch on the swing of the New Orleans sound Nick pulls the Caribbean sound out on the keys quickly joined by Kaz. To wrap the session an open invitation was given to students to join the team. Goodness it was good.
Each day students, faculty, and family members were honored to have professional musicians in the jazz and blues industry take us to school during the masterclasses. These workshops taught valuable skills and provided an opportunity to ask the pros about music, and their experiences. A real treat every year has been to see our day-to-day instructors head to the stage to play along this jazz and blues greats.
A little information about the camp:
Texas Jazz & Blues Camp welcomes students from 11 to adult, with most in their mid-teens. Previous jazz experience is preferred but not required, as long as the student has the equivalent of 2 years’ experience on their instrument and has an interest in learning to improvise.
