I’ve seen so many videos like these, and all of them curse and yell at the cat for scratching it. Thank you for.. 1. Scruffing the cat 2. Having a rinse bucket 3. Reassuring the cat 4. Wearing gloves 5. Making it quick Not every cat will enjoy a bath, but you did it right. Good work!
Tezara thank you for the kind words.. I appreciate that... She's a good girl, most of the time.. but she always deserves to be treated well.. thank you very much
Introverted Soul. Scruffing means grabbing the scruff, which is the lose skin behind the head. It mimics the way cats carry their young, and makes them feel safe and cared for. Just remember not the lift an adult cat solely by the scruff, kittens are so light it doesn’t hurt them, but for heavier cats it can be painful. Have them stand on something or support their body weight with your other hand. Good luck with your future companion :)
My kitten is 11 months old and already hunting birds and rodent. Not to mention I literally cannot bathe him since he is so aggressive, He must have got alot of testosteron.
I learned from the first time washing a cat... Sweat shirt with a small jacket/coat and gloves just makes things better/safer😂😂😂... Now I wash 4 cats and I rather be sweaty than scratched the hell up...
Cute video but my cat would jump out & try to kill me on the way. So 1st- Prepare a will. 2nd- Say a prayer & 3rd- take kitty to a professional cat bather ;-)
I think when you transferred her from the soapy water to the fresh water she was literally like "NOOOOO!" It's so funny how vocal cats get during bath time. So hilarious!!!
An useful tip for all of you out there: Keep the water really warm, I’ve noticed that cats are less stressed when the temperature of the water is really hot, not to a boiling point, of course but it’s easier to bath them when the temperature is well adjusted. (:
I wash my cat at least twice a year. I thought cats never needed baths but i decided to wash my cat one day just to see if the water would come out clear when I did. It was grey and every time I wash her, the water is a lil grey. She grooms herself well. It seems like cats cleaning is just antibacterial.
See how she's gripping hard on the edges? If you put a thick towel on bottom of each bucket, she'll have something to grip onto and feel less stressed. They have fear of drowning and water, so giving their paws something to grip onto makes the experience easier for both you and the cat! I'm speaking from experience as a foster carer of feral cats
Thanks for the tips! I have given my cats an exorcism. Dark clouds formed over the house and I heard what sounded like tortured souls crying out!🔥 After this, using the gloves and sweatshirt, things were fine! 🐱 Hm, the sun is out again...
That's a cat from heaven, literally, to wash. A few meowls and bit of a scuffle. Our family cat Pushkin turned from a sensitive, intelligent appraising kitty to a ball of fury and fangs if we ventured him to get washed. We tried everything. Small baby baths, luke warm water, different cat shampoo, preying, arm protection, even the sink, treats, sponge washing, you name it. In the end we gave up and used pet wipes lol.
This is so smart! The water is already soapy and then the rinse water is separate and everything is ready. This makes it quick which is really the best part for a cat. I have allergies and have been wanting to see if bathing the cats would help. You are genius! Once every seven years isn’t so bad. 😂
WOW!!! You’re not dead or in need of hospital! I went through WWI and WWII giving my 19 yo old phewie cat a bath. Almost had to call the EMTs. It was not pretty. She did get clean but will never be done again. Good for you, I admire your courage. 👋
Awwww poor kitty!!! Im surprised that the owner stated his cat smelled bad from not having a bath. Every cat I've ever had including the 2 cats who I adopted as strays never smelled. They were mostly out door cats also yet they managed to keep themselves clean and never smelled bad.
What an absolutely wonderful job you just did. God bless your caring and gentleness for this purr kitty. I have 8 rescue cats and they all have their own personalities. God love them 💕
trying to put any cat into a bucket, tub or etc. is traumatic (fear of drowning and all). much better to use a hand sprayer inside an enclosed tub/shower. cat will be less likely to try to escape when they know the door is closed and any attempts to escape are thwarted. wet the cat, pour diluted soap on as needed, massage in and rinse.
No way would I try this with my cat Charley. She is a female feral. Even the vets had trouble getting her out of her box to sedate her. Just for taking bloods. She now has a reputation. One vet said they will have to firmly hold her. What a joke. She soon changed her mind on that one. So no Charley will not be having a bath. As I would have to wear real armour.
Good job, but next time use a washcloth to really scrub down to the skin. My Honey Bunny, the hairball from Hell, gets leashed to the kitchen sink & is bathed in a dishtub then rinsed in the second sink with the faucet sprayer. I try to "wring" her out so the towel isn't sopping wet. She had her yearly summer bath a few weeks ago & as long as her back was to me, she only fought a little. But when I picked her up to wring her out, she fish hooked my finger with her nail & I had to plop her immediately on the towel. When I put her down, she literally cussed me out and ate her lunch in angry snatched mouthfuls. I fear next summer will come too soon, haha!
Thank you for the tips with the two buckets. I've just washed my cat like you did and it wasn't so bad. I was dreading it because I had to do it all by myself.
As soon as I saw the gloves...INSTANT LIKE! This is the video I need! I even wear a coat while bathing my cat. Smh I almost pass out everytime! Can't wait to see this!
Well, My cats are scared of water so all they do is run away, they don't scratch or anything.. I take them to a small bathroom so it's easier for me to bathe them
You are blessed with an angelic cat! You inspired me to give my 4 1/2 lb kitten her first bath in the bathroom sink and she was also an angelic kitty! Thanks for the video:)
Great job! You made a very difficult task look super easy. And inspired me to perhaps attempt this feat with my kitty. I suppose we just have to ignore those horrible sounds they make and realize that they really aren't in pain.
well I have to say you guys made it look pretty darn easy. let's see if Lucy short for Lucifer is his cooperative. I really doubt she will be. but you've given me a little bit of encouragement so I thank you for that
Your cat can talk, that is cool. 😺🙀😾 When I was a kid, I lived in the mountains of PA and I loved animals and would bring every stray home with me, and there were quite a few, because if people did not want them they would drop them off at a wooded spot and take off. One time I found a kitten and my little girlfriend and I proceeded to give it a bath in a small sink on our back porch. That kitten sounded like a mountain lion, screaming and yelling at us and we were covered in scratches, but we did it. Back then, we did not worry about diseases like we do now. We were fine, but the kitten never got another bath.
I started bathing my cat when he was 3 months old. In the beggining, of course, he used to get scared and bite me. Now, as he is used to bathing every month, he stays calm and everything comes easier when we allow cats to hang on something and be standing, so you can wash their back, belly, tail and paws with safety and both you and the cat get less stressed.
I lean a screen in the tub by the back wall of. They have a frame and you can adjust their size. Water in the tub sprayer ready to go. Pop them in the tub they run up the screen and I hold on. Works every time
Aww 🥰 what a sweet cat, such a lovely voice..when Impending doom lurks in the tub🛁 😂 Cats feel so soft later, then the next day they roll around in the garden and get dirty again 😂 Always check your pets for ticks 🕷 Great 👍 video thanks
This was very helpful! We adopted 7 year old brothers & have had them for 10 months. One of them wreaks REALLY bad tonight & I will have to bathe him. I was dreading it until your video. Not so scared now. They have never been bathed.
Awww, she did awesome for having never been bathed before! I was recently adopted by a feral outdoor cat who I saved from the collar that was put on it when it was little and then growing out of it, and I've been looking for videos of how to bathe a cat. This little guy's neck is raw on the bottom and left side of where the collar was digging into his skin. I wonder if I should use some sort of medicated, yet sensitive soap.
Wow! Your cat was so nice. The second I sat my cat in a shallow, warm bath she clamped her teeth right into the thick, fleshy part of my hand (right between the thumb and finger) and refused to let go till I let her go. Two years later my son decided to try and his result was exactly like mine. You know what they say about the third time being a charm? Well, it wasn't. The third time he and I attempted to wash our cat together. Let me just say that I had no idea cats could leap to the ceiling and run around the bathroom literally on the wall , but she did. After that we only used natural wipes on her and those she actually liked.
Looking this up since I have to bathe my husband's cat who is prob twice as big as this one and has a double coat and abosolutely despises water. Oh and we don't trim his claws either. It's been about over a year and a half since his last bath.
There's a friendly cat in my area that I would love to pet but don't often because he always ends up giving my hand dirt. He's dirty. I'd love to bathe him just so I can not feel gross giving him a little attention.
Meepin Snek. Most pet stores. Like Petco have a water less cleaner for cats. It comes in a plastic bottle and it pumps cleaning foam into your hand. Then use it to sneakily pet the cat. He will like the petting and won't notice he is being cleaned. Takes odors away and condtions their skin too.
Love how so calmly the Hell cat took the bath. Soon as either of my guys see the tub with water in it. Then the turn to hell cats. But they both love getting toweled dry after.
try doing this a 2nd time as i did with mine bet u get a claw to the wrist. or arm. face. or leg. mine punctured my wrist and a vain in the process. so next month she is getting a cat bathing bag. to keep her swingy little claws under control. were i dont get injured.
If you are calling your cat ( from hell) what should i call mine? When my daughter tell me to give the cat a showers i wish iam a magician and disappear
Good job! Now I need to know how to bathe a gigantic Norwegian Forest Cat who acts like a chill Buddha till bath time. Double the aggression & size of this cat. Any thoughts? 😖
Wow, that was easy! I have 13 cats, the short hairs are OK, the long hairs (6 or 7 of them) have flea dirt. Some of them get rather grumpy if you pick them up much less take them near water. Due to the extreme cold they're all inside for the winter and I don't want a mess of fleas hatching this summer. I'll be doing this by myself, the only help from my wife was to buy an Accidental Death Insurance Policy. Pray for me.
All my cats were hell growing up lol. Cried just like this but way louder. I fostered a 3 week old kitten i ended up adopting and did baths a lot. Now be just resf his head on the side of the tub and just sits patiently waiting. I rescued this new cat. He is older and the most loving cat I ever saw. But he hisses and freaks out at the sight of the tub. I want to scruff him but don't want to lose his trust. He really dirty and I just want to get him clean so my husband will let me adopt him. 😁
Awww... So sweet of you to Foster and adopt. I now have 8 adopted dogs... They don't mind having bath. 😁... Good luck with the new guy, hope he can calm down enough for you to get him clean. You may won't to try a wet hand towel sponge bath style for now. Good luck. And good job.
Good job but she was fairly mild and did not protest too much. I am about to bath my 6yr old cat who I have just inherited and I know she hates water. She hates being brushed and she hated it when I put cats dry shampoo on her so I know she will fight like a tiger. She loves rolling in the dirt but not too keen on washing herself. Wish me luck!
Your video is reassuring to see. Thank you for sharing. We never had a cat before moving to the country almost 6 years ago. One by one they showed up needing a home and we now have 6. Our grandson is coming to visit us and he is allergic. I plan to bathe the cats in a special shampoo that reduces the dander. I am a bit intimidated, to say the least. None of these cats have been bathed. They are great at cleaning themselves and do not stink, thank God. I pray that bathing them goes as well as your experience with your cat. Again, thanks for sharing.
I wish you luck.... But I would say depending on his level of allergies it may not be enough.. a good HEPA filter vacuum to vacuum the house will help too.. hope it goes well. And good for you for adopting all the cats... I now have 8 dog dogs. So I know it takes a lot of work. Anyway good luck.
Cat from hell? Boy, this sure is like the sweetest and most peaceful little kid ever. My kitten screams so much I'm pretty sure I'll either have to stop giving her baths or get kicked out by the neighbours 🤦
Wow Your cat is so calm ! when my parents showerd my cat he was like an ambulance and kept going on and on never stopped but! Bt at the end they smell so good
Wow he's relatively easy to deal with yes he complains and resists a bit but I have a permanent scar from my cat if I even bring him near the water he'll struggle harder than a fox hunting it
Whenever I bathe my cat I have to wear at least 4 hoodies to protect me from my cat's claws, also gloves and shoes. If your cat is from hell my cat is the legit devil.
If that's a cat from hell then my cat is Satan.
Jali Gill she's normally quite mean I think she felt like she was in a compromised position and decided to be a sweetheart
Jali Gill 😂😂
Mei
hahahaha I can't stop laughing, how you describe your cat, jeeezzz... I can imagine how difficult you handled that little satan :)
Cute video! But, this kitty makes my cats look like DEVILS!!! Lol..
2:40
Owner: "One more bucket and we're out"
Cat: "NoO way!"
Pe6yc 😂😂😂😂
lol I heard it
Pe6yc z
Pe6yc I heard it too!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Pe6yc I heard the SAME thing! They talk. .. mine talk back when I speak in a disciplinary tone. Lol
OH, she was a perfect angel! My cat (slash) is like trying to bathe a weed eater running at full power!
😁😂🤣❤
So is my Whisper, I can't even carry him into the bathroom.
😂😂😂
lol i like ur cats name
@glasslinger - I got the swedish chainsaw gnawing at 9000 RPM, screaming satanic tounges.
It amazes me the range of voices cats can make. They almost have human level vocal chords.
I’ve seen so many videos like these, and all of them curse and yell at the cat for scratching it. Thank you for..
1. Scruffing the cat
2. Having a rinse bucket
3. Reassuring the cat
4. Wearing gloves
5. Making it quick
Not every cat will enjoy a bath, but you did it right. Good work!
Tezara thank you for the kind words.. I appreciate that... She's a good girl, most of the time.. but she always deserves to be treated well.. thank you very much
Should we wear gloves?
please could someone tell me what scruffing is and why you should do it (I’m planning on getting a cat in the future)
@Molle Björk thank you : )
It sounds like she’s screaming “WHYYY??? Why?!?!?” 🤣
😂😂😂
Funny!
I thought the same thing! Whyyyy! Whyyyy!
🤣🤣🤣
“just one more and then we’re out”
“NAUUGHGH”
AAHAHAAHAH I DIED
i tried to bathe my cat and ended up with many scars and pee on my leg.
Daenerys Stormborn same !!
Daenerys Stormborn I tried I almost ended up with a Trip to the hospital
Even me, when i tried to bath my khao manee cat, i ended up have a long wound on my finger with many blood
My kitten is 11 months old and already hunting birds and rodent.
Not to mention I literally cannot bathe him since he is so aggressive, He must have got alot of testosteron.
Who’s pee was it?
"If I'm gonna die I'm gonna have it on film," hahaha love this guy
You did a good job comforted her made it as quick as possible she is gorgeous
♥️❣️♥️🤗🐈.. thanks she's a great cat.
She's an angel! My cat tore me to shreds.
better to wear thick coat and gloves to avoid having scratches and getting bites.
I actually love your two rub system. It's intelligently designed and it's quicker than doing it in one bath tub. Great stuff.
And the kitty seems cooperative.
Oh this one still ok, you are lucky, at least she stay in one place :) my cat like a ninja everytime she had her shower time
Azliana Lyana ikr mine would shout and I'd feel sorry for her so I stop midbath
LOL SAME
Ninja😂😂😂😂😂
Mines too
Dont wash a cat . You will kill her one day . Wash is something we never do . They don’t need. It is not good for them
I learned from the first time washing a cat... Sweat shirt with a small jacket/coat and gloves just makes things better/safer😂😂😂... Now I wash 4 cats and I rather be sweaty than scratched the hell up...
haha yeh lol my cats are the same scratched to bits if i dont have the suit of armour on
Cute video but my cat would jump out & try to kill me on the way. So 1st- Prepare a will. 2nd- Say a prayer & 3rd- take kitty to a professional cat bather ;-)
😹😹😹😹😹😹🤣🤣🤣
🤣😹
Now that is funny. LOL
i’m afraid they’ll mistreat her if i take her to a bather!!!
@@izzyroig6281 Find a good bather. Read reviews. I found a wonderful lady & was allowed to stay & watch.
Nice! I think the cat liked having the edge to hold onto.
Miss Ladybug was running up the steps saying "I can't believe I just went through that but I do feel better....but I won't tell him that"🤗
Yep, awwww
I think when you transferred her from the soapy water to the fresh water she was literally like "NOOOOO!"
It's so funny how vocal cats get during bath time. So hilarious!!!
An useful tip for all of you out there: Keep the water really warm, I’ve noticed that cats are less stressed when the temperature of the water is really hot, not to a boiling point, of course but it’s easier to bath them when the temperature is well adjusted. (:

Ssssaassssssssssssssssszszzzzzszzzdddds@ssssssssssssssssssssssssss@sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss@ss@ssssssssssss@
Thumbs up for Ellie. She managed the horrible experience of a bath pretty darn well.
Thanks for taking and posting the video.
I still have the scars from the first time we tried to bath our Ragdoll Cat Coffee. We've only used dry shampoo since then.
Thanks for the tips! I have given my cats an exorcism. Dark clouds formed over the house and I heard what sounded like tortured souls crying out!🔥 After this, using the gloves and sweatshirt, things were fine! 🐱 Hm, the sun is out again...

Fashion a stockade!

True
It's a whole lot easier if you start them out as kittens. Both mine love their baths & blow dry too.

1:35 🤣🤣 sounds like hes saying "whhhyyy???" His hooman betrayed him
I think this cat is a angel. Mines gave me stitches TWICE
Good job, but next time use a washcloth to really scrub down to the skin. Lol that's the reaction most cats have when getting a bath. Semi-passive resistence while vocalizeing their displeasure of this experience.
I've seen worse cases
Start when they are young and they won’t care near as much.
I started bathing my cats when they were kittens (6 weeks old) because they we're so dirty when I got them.. But they still hate water up until now!!
My Stryker is 7 years old and he is still resisting water
This is the main KEY,, start when they are young, I did it for all 3 of my cats, all gone now. My new cat,, I missed that window. She is a demon!
Well, My cats are scared of water so all they do is run away, they don't scratch or anything.. I take them to a small bathroom so it's easier for me to bathe them
Nope not true 😂
That was not hard, you have very peaceful cat.
My cat is also very peaceful, you can check my cat washing video.
How to clean cat after pregnancy please tale
You are blessed with an angelic cat! You inspired me to give my 4 1/2 lb kitten her first bath in the bathroom sink and she was also an angelic kitty! Thanks for the video:)
My cat will literally twist and turn in ways you wouldn't know were even possible.
Mine too, but I’m gonna try the two tub method
That cat is well behaved
I really doubt she will be. but you've given me a little bit of encouragement so I thank you for that
“If I’m gonna die, I’m gonna have it on film.” 😆
You did a great job with the kitty. She deserves treats after being so good.
kroakie4 thanks... She is still doing great and a very happy cat... ♥️
So after watching this video of a cat "from hell" it has been confirmed that my cat is the Devil himself.
I am so impressed!! My 20yo tabby never had a bath. She was psycho
Great ideas to wash in tubs!
Your cat can talk, that is cool. 😺🙀😾 When I was a kid, I lived in the mountains of PA and I loved animals and would bring every stray home with me, and there were quite a few, because if people did not want them they would drop them off at a wooded spot and take off. This video gave me courage and the unearned confidence to bathe my adult cats this week. Thank you and pls pray for my soul.
🙏😂

wow that was a really good cat. no scratching and didn't shake the water off like a dog does. great job
I lean a screen in the tub by the back wall of. They have a frame and you can adjust their size. Water in the tub sprayer ready to go. Pop them in the tub they run up the screen and I hold on. Works every time
That's a great idea

Great 👍 video thanks
This was very helpful! We adopted 7 year old brothers & have had them for 10 months. One of them wreaks REALLY bad tonight & I will have to bathe him. I was dreading it until your video. Not so scared now. They have never been bathed.
She really trusts, and tolerated the bath very well.
The sounds the cat is making is absolutely adorable!
She’s actually doing really good!!!
I really enjoyed this! The love you have for your cat is wonderful! WELL DONE!
She’s actually quite mild in temperament. Sweet cat.
Awww, she did awesome for having never been bathed before! Yeah I would definitely talk to somebody like a vet to know what to use for soap...
That's super sweet I hope you have good luck
Your a very good father , cats in safe arms bless her and bless you
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Should call it how to give a nice cat a bath
I was expecting to be murdered by her.. the calm was unexpected to say the least ...
Im scared mine will scratch me. Cat doesn't like to be picked up. Do cats get submissive in the water.
Nooooo... hahha.. in general it will get worse when you ad water
Wow! Your cat was so nice. The second I sat my cat in a shallow, warm bath she clamped her teeth right into the thick, fleshy part of my hand (right between the thumb and finger) and refused to let go till I let her go. Your cat was an angel. I gave my Sammy a bath today and legit went for my eyes. I was like...OH MY GOSH!
There's a friendly cat in my area that I would love to pet but don't often because he always ends up giving my hand dirt. He's dirty. I'd love to bathe him just so I can not feel gross giving him a little attention.

Love how so calmly the Hell cat took the bath. Soon as either of my guys see the tub with water in it.
Then the turn to hell cats. But they both love getting toweled dry after.
Good that he doesn't get angry at the cat. Cats react like that because they are really scared, not because they are trying to give you a hard time.
I gave my cat a bath yesterday and she is super mellow. You did a great job.
try doing this a 2nd time as i did with mine bet u get a claw to the wrist. or arm. face. or leg. mine punctured my wrist and a vain in the process. so next month she is getting a cat bathing bag. to keep her swingy little claws under control. were i dont get injured.
Awww bless this beautiful little girl! 😘❤️ All nice and clean ❤️🐈😘❤️

Good job! Now I need to know how to bathe a gigantic Norwegian Forest Cat who acts like a chill Buddha till bath time. Double the aggression & size of this cat. Any thoughts? 😖
You can almost hear the cat say "what did I do to you to deserve this", with one look
Wow, that was easy! I have 13 cats, the short hairs are OK, the long hairs (6 or 7 of them) have flea dirt. Some of them get rather grumpy if you pick them up much less take them near water. I'll be doing this by myself, the only help from my wife was to buy an Accidental Death Insurance Policy. Pray for me.
Hahahahah... praying extra hard for ya. Have fun.
Yesssss...the two tub method is best because no time for them to stress or rest while they strategize, just dunk dunk and done. Good job.
U deserve my subscription man.. such a patient guy..
You did a great job, so organized. Got the bath water ready with soap and then another tub with clean water. But still calming kitty down, was hard.
This is a well behaved cat in my opinion.
My cat Tiny only allows me 5 to 10 seconds holding time and i have learned my bloody lessons can't even trim her claws
Awwwww your so sweet speaking sweetly and not even being rough on the cat and underhand her😇😍😍😍
Your video is reassuring to see.
Is the cat saying no
Cat from hell? Boy, this sure is like the sweetest and most peaceful little kid ever. My kitten screams so much I'm pretty sure I'll either have to stop giving her baths or get kicked out by the neighbours 🤦
That's not a cat from Hell. My cat is a sturdy 30 pounds and rather large, but not obese.
He's fixed and he goes for the jugular.
same... have a fat cat... 25 lbs... girlfriend owns it... i have not tried to bath it once... not even once...
I started my cat out with wipes (designed for cats) then moved on to soapy wash cloths. Now he doesn't mind a bath.
How dose your cat like baths . My cat hates them
Good video! You can also try putting a towel on the bottom of each bin if you want, it gives the kitty something to hang on too.
Wow Your cat is so calm ! when my parents showerd my cat he was like an ambulance and kept going on and on never stopped but! Bt at the end they smell so good
This is what I need. I inherited my cat & i know i take better care of her than previous owner. Its going to be hard but i have to wash her.
That was great, now do u have a tutorial on nail clipping?
You're a good cat dad :) Seriously, you did a great job.
Schatzi P thank you so very much for your kind words... She is a sweetheart...
Wow he's relatively easy to deal with yes he complains and resists a bit but I have a permanent scar from my cat if I even bring him near the water he'll struggle harder than a fox hunting it
I have a scar too :) My cat Wilma from my teenage years.
@@U2BEMatchmaker gotta love cats they are so cute but such a handful when it comes to bathtime lol
Whenever I bathe my cat I have to wear at least 4 hoodies to protect me from my cat's claws, also gloves and shoes. If your cat is from hell my cat is the legit devil.
Thanks, using tubs idea is very helpful.
