As a student of Yamada Yoshitaka (Genshin), I was taught beheading ritual for persons doing seppuku. The form was called Kaishaku, because you were assisting the person. It was the "moniri" or entrance into the ryuha, Shinshin Ryu. I do not believe that he is related to Asaemon.
Is the tear bridge the one depicted in ashita no joe? Also, these must be the haunted places and you are so brave to visit these places. Thank you for the stories!
Asaemon appear in an old manga called Samurai Executioner, who also appeared in Lone Wolf and Cub where he was killed at the end. Although Asaemon was more of "sword tester" than a simple executioner. During the Asaemons career, they used many famous treasured katanas, including the "Tenka Gohen" swords where he wrote review of each swords
I think it is very cool that the Manga: Hells Paradise, has members of Yamada Asaemon as its main characters! the story is fictional but it’s very interesting that they are based on the real historical figures…
Japanese culture and history have countless beautiful aspects. However, most of Japan's history is filled 2ith bloodlust, brutality, oppression and a distinct lack of human rights. Not to say Europe was much better, just different. But at least a country had it's borders and laws and the times there was war inside if any given nation was significantly less than in Japan. Plus in Japan, the people who lived in the area ruled but a deposed lord, had a high chance of being slaughtered along with the family of the Lord. Life in Japan was brutal, and short, and constantly filled with violence. Which really brings out the ultimate question, the Samurai were a privileged class of people who oppressed the common people greatly and were ruthless in doing it, a d their main form of religion (for a lack of a better word) was Bushido. Bushido is the main reason 2hy life in Japan was so horrible, and when the Title of Samurai was abolished, so should Bushido, have been relegated to something of the past. Because Bushido promoted a highly violent way of life that was meant to dedicate a person's very soul to their Lord's whim, and death was of no consequence. But Bushido is diametrically opposed to modern peaceful society in Japan. It's values are abhorrent and inhumane by today's standards. I personally feel Japanese culture would be much better off without it because it causes too much confusion and inner turmoil in the hearts of Japanese people, and caus8ng the highest suicide rate in the G7 nation, by far! Adherence to Bushido led Japan to the great tragedies of the war in the Pacific leading Japan to be the only nation to ever have nuclear weapons used on it in anger. Bushido is a relic of the Shogunates of the past, and is designed to maintain control over the warrior class so they can be used by the Warlord's who seek power. Japan is so much better today than what Bushido cou.d ever hope to accomplish even at it's peak. Today's values are far higher and far more noble than Bishido ever was because it was a brilliant piece of propaganda that incorporated all the most valued aspects of Japanese society at that time. It's long past due that Japan should cast aside Bushido and move forward 2ith much higher values r3cognized by all the world powers and economic powerhouses of the world. The single most influential document that has sent out a tidal wave across the world was and still is the US Constitution. And I feel every nation has been positively affected by it and it continues to garner higher values around the world. Japan should keep many of it's traditions alive and in practice, but some AR not worthy of being practiced still. We see some have been cast aside quite easily but Bushido is one that needs to be removed from schools and society because of the damage it does.
Bushido is not a religion of the samurai, bushdio is created by a Japanese writer that wants to make the Japanese samurai a good chivalry like warrior. But in retrospect they are just mercs for hire by shoguns(warlords). Because in his journey to Europe he saw the knights and their code of chivalry to protect it's people not to oppress. So it is like a coverup.
And, this guy was very unhappy when the subject managed to eat some rocks, or gravel, before execution, could cause damage to sword if using it in the cross-body cut.
Wielding a Dotanuki "Executioner" katana Also a history tid bit, the kid that played Daigorō was arrested as an adult for weapons smuggling and imprisoned.
Using of human organs certainly helped to create new outbreaks of deceases ! How dangerous is not relying on his own common sense.! This valise until today...
Many thanks for your wonderful insight in to what was an extremely skilled occupation much like the famous English hangman Albert pierrepoint.his father and uncle hangmen before him.🙏🫶✌️🏴

Look at Nanjing Massacre
US constitution? certainly not the American Indian point of view!
Bushido is not a religion. It is a warrior's code of conduct. Shintoism is the accepted religion of the Japanese.

@History of Katana (HOK) 興味深いことに、私はこれらの場所のほとんどを訪れたことがありますが、最近たまたま訪れた南千住と涙の橋を除いて、歴史を知りませんでした。なぜそこがあんなに不毛で居心地の悪い場所なのかが分かりました。
And, this guy was very unhappy when the subject managed to eat some rocks, or gravel, before execution, could cause damage to sword if using it in the cross-body cut.
Swords were expensive back then.
Not surprising, the atrocities of the Japanese are well known during the WWII. Good video.
What kind of Katana is used by Asaemon executioner ?
Perhaps the Yamada Asaemon should exchange notes with German official Executioner Franz Schmidt about the trade. Both later on became a Medical man.
Why are CC on by default? I can hear and understand everything.
To be honest as many heads as this were taken following a major battle in japan, if their side lost in a battle
Jubei Yamada
does this had an impact for the judicial system of japan?
Lone wolf and cub in real life!! Family tradition I respect
Wielding a Dotanuki "Executioner" katana

Thought it was the other Manga, Samurai Executioner.
