Veloren is a multiplayer voxel RPG written in Rust. It is inspired by games such as Cube World, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Dwarf Fortress and Minecraft.
Veloren is fully open-source, licensed under GPL 3. It uses original graphics, musics and other assets created by its community. Being contributor-driven, its development community and user community is one and the same: developers, players, artists and musicians come together to develop the game.

Indeedo. But i quite enjoy dwarf fortress adventure mode as it is. Kinda hard not not get lost as u spawn in a giant ass fotress underground tho.

This is amazing, I'd like to see a economy system, where certain materials or certain items sell more or less depending on the town.
That's actually already in, but it's getting reworked to make more sense.

I'm kinda mad at him. İmagine tons of people waiting for your game for 7 years. And you don't even ask them what they think about your decisions. And remove the key mechanics of the game. That's so disrespectful.

@@gibran8959 takes like this are the problem. You can‘t compare two people just because it makes it easy for you. Would you survive as a starving child? Many don‘t and some do, does that mean that those who don‘t are just weak? No it means both suffer but some can get through it miraculously. That Murray (and his team, which btw Wollay didn’t have, he just had his wife and she was helping him a ton but never ever was the center of attention since he was the main developer and community manager) didn’t abandon No Man‘s Sky is honestly nothing but a miracle. He got shit on for something he had little control over. Though just because Murray was covered in an Internet Historian video doesn’t mean he is the only developer who gets confronted with crap from their community for not meeting expectations. Wollay did make mistakes, yes, but he nowhere near deserves the constant judgment and toxicity that comes from comments like yours. Costs you literally nothing to not be entitled and hateful on the Internet. Don‘t be this mad about a passion project that overwhelmed the developer who just wanted to make a fun little game and couldn’t handle the attention he got.

thanks for the vid, never played and have followed the project for a while now, dont think im gonna play yet still looks still very barebones in content but its promising :) I like the weapon skills, but I think they should have some unique specializations for builds to fill the space classes leave behind

I think something they need to change is the color palette of the world, in Cube World the colors were so vibrant and pretty.
i think cube world in general had a cutesier more anime inspired asethetic while this is more high fantasy tinged, so i think the colors work for this context, but an option to have more cubeworld esque and vibrant colors would be nice!

Veloran will be a good game i think!
You can bunny hop. Literally just hold space while moving and you will gain speed comparable to rolling. This also works out of rolling and you will maintain the roll speed. There also seems to be a glitch where you will sometimes get double jump height if you jump out of rolling.

Can say from my own experience, checked it out a year or so ago and I didn't really enjoy it. Came back today and it honestly felt like a different game, the combat could use a bit of polish and the gameplay curve still needs to be worked on but I was having fun. Crazy amount of progress in that time
So is this basically trove mixed with cube world but updated 🤔 and not outdated as AF

Unfortunate fact is currently that the pets / mounts are completely useless unless youre prepared to lose them constantly. They are less than useless in combat and they constantly get killed by enemies. So make sure you have multiple Collars in order to re-tame a new critter every time you want one :D

Eagle isnt a flying creature. Not in Veloren. It walks on ground, at least Ive personally never seen Eagle in the air. It is always down to earth
hello hello can i have some help in how to decrease some graphics because it's quite difficult to play this game for me because of it's slow performance on my pc so which graphics should i reduce please?

@@baumapfel4463 since the player base is only limited to around 80 people average daily on the main server (not including the people that play the game in single player) the community is relatively small. There are mods that people have made on the discord right now, you just need to ask, also the game already has a good amount of content compared to steam release of cube world imo, yet veloren is adding tons of content consistently every week so stay tuned. Also making ur own mods is relatively easy, they walk people through on making ur own stuff on the link I mentioned and there is tons of help and modders within the discord too, I hope that helped :)

Sooo are characters server side or client side, if i make a character on a specific server joining a different one makes me start from the beginning?
Yep. Each character is different BUT now u can trade between ur characters if u multi-client (opening the game twice, on the same pc)

I get errors when I use commands. How do you know how to use these commands when the wiki doesn't explain how to use them correctly? I treiad adminify with my correct name and it said could not find player. Help please.

It's open source, it definitely does not have a keylogger. If you want you can compile it yourself.

It's an open source game, I doubt itll ever be on steam, unless someone's take the code/game and claims it as their own and throws it on steam.

it can be put on steam deck, also since this game is open source, open source games usually never go to a real triple A console such as the nintendo switch. too much funding for a game thats purely free where the devs dont get paid anything
@@OptimalGuides In our case it's mostly just that it's not legal, we used a license that isn't compatible with any of the non Steam Deck consoles. So unless console manufacturers start supporting open source (which they're probably not going to do for just one game) it can only get unofficial console releases / homebrew.

I mean is this selfmade or did someone just copy cube world and expanded? Since not only the graphic is 1/1 but also the animations are exactly the same I mean im not happy what Wollay did but its still his and its hard to believe that this isnt a hard copy.

Any way never meant to talk it down it looks amazing and im excited for a game like cube world but the way we all hoped for, if this turns out great im fo sure gonna make my mates buy it.:D
@@Gandorhar The source code also includes all the assets (including voxel models, etc.), as well as the graphics engine that renders everything, the world generation, and so on... not sure what else there is to graphics!.
