Summer of Night, Hex, A Winter Haunting, Children of the Night, Funland and My Best Friend's Exorcism are all available for online rental at the Internet Archive.
SO stoked to see my best friend's exorcism on here! i've been binge-watching your videos and i loved your thoughts on stephen king, so knowing you recommended grady hendrix as well just bumped that up my tbr list!
Love the video Jimmy. Recently read Summer of Night and loved it. If you liked Laymon, try Endless Night. That book is fantastic. Surprised not to see Robert R McCammon on there. He's up there with King.
I'm reading " Summer of Night " for probably the fourth time since it came out. It reminds me of how we were growing up in the late 60's and early 70' s . Great book. Takes me back.
@@jimmymango Yeah, I've read just about all of MacCammon's books. Swan Song was good too. Boys life is his best but all his books are worth reading. But not really read any of his Matthew Corbett stuff. Probably need too. Have you read and John Skipp and Craig Spector books ? Splatterpunk from the early 80' s ? Check out " The light at the end ". Most of there books are good. You can get them on Kindle pretty cheap. The paperbacks are hard, and probably expensive, to find. Good stuff. Sorry for the long winded reply. 👍
I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos! No I haven’t read Song of Kali yet. It’s in my TBR. I just finished the Hyperion Cantos series. Love Dan Simmons though!!!
I will definitely check that out. I just bought a bunch of Laymon novels from a used book store but that wasn’t one of them. I will put that on my list. Thanks!
I love Grady Hendrix's The Southern Book Club Guide's to Slaying Vampire.. hands down one of the best horror novels I read in 5 years.. Richard Laymon's style though is a little bit smutty to me so I just gave up.. new subscriber here
Hello I liked your video I really appreciate you just reading the synopsis of the horror books and not telling us the whole story.I love Joe Hill as well what is your favourite Joe hill book?
Just discovered your channels loved hex I'm a fan of stephen King and joe hill it was Stephen King that got into Richard laymon and Bentley little due to their review comments of Stephen King books i recommend the store by Bentley little and the island by Richard laymon
"In the dead of night:the mystique of the demonic Igbo mask". The cover is creepy, if feels and looks alive. I dare you get past the cover. The story is unusual, different, non-western and s-c-a-r-y.
Had to watch this.. love horror🥰yeah I didn’t know til today that there was a horror booktube community!!
Love your recommendations. A lot I've already read, but I'm grateful for some fresh authors.

Definitely adding some of these to my “must read” list!!!! Great video!
I'm so glad to see horror books finally making it to bbooktube. Thanks
I’m glad you enjoyed it 😊
great job man, thank you keep up the good work
I've read as many Laymon novels as I could get my hands on back in 2013 ... King & Koontz cover blurbs say it all
I feel the same..any book that takes place in a small town or suburbia is an instant pick for me.
Glad you discovered Richard Laymon! His books are fantastic, loved Night in the Lonesome October and Endless Night
Thanks for the recs. I’ve been thinking about which one of his I should read next.
Since I don't watch movies as much I'm loving reading horror. Appreciate the recommendations
You had me at teenybopper.
Ania Ahlborn, Michael McDowell, Sarah Langan, Keelan Patrick Burke….all great non-King superstars
I put Hex on my want to read list.thanks.
Me too I'm keen to give it a go, the plot sounds great
I absolutely loved the Dan Simmonds books you mentioned. Thanks for sharing
Love the video Jimmy. Recently read Summer of Night and loved it. If you liked Laymon, try Endless Night. That book is fantastic.

Thanks! I am actually currently reading Boy’s Life. It’s my first Mccammon and I’m loving it!
@@jimmymango sensational. It's one of my favourite books.
@@jimmymango Swan Song by McCammon! Just finished it. It was incredible. A must read.
That’s actually hilarious. I just bought it 2 days ago. Can’t wait to dive in. Thanks for the rec!
@@jimmymango I did the audio book. It was excellent.
Thanks for sharing. I’ve added Hex and My Best Friend’s Exorcism (also enjoyed Horrostor) to my TBR 😉
Highly recommend DSimmons....Song of Kali
Summer of night sounds great. Just a pity it’s so expensive to buy atm, I’ll just have to be patient.
Thanks again for these recommendations 😷😎👍🏻

Thanks for the recs! I will look into those authors.
Does Dean Koontz fall under this category because I’ve read some of his books and he’s really good
Oooh i did not know that about children of the night. I loved the Summer and Winter ones.
Hey Jimmy, glad I found your channel. Good recommendations. Dan Simmons is amazing. Have you read "Song of Kali"?
I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos! No I haven’t read Song of Kali yet. It’s in my TBR. I just finished the Hyperion Cantos series. Love Dan Simmons though!!!
I'm looking at the books behind you and I see that I've either read or own most of them
I once found an Exorcism book in a thrift store. As tempted as i was I left it behind God only knows where it had been
summer of night is very similar to stephen king, kids in small town fighting with evil.
Thank you for only reading the the synopsis I appreciate not telling us the whole book also what is your favourite Joe hill book
You gotta read The Stake by Richard Laymon. I got major King vibes from it. Such a page turner!!
I will definitely check that out. I just bought a bunch of Laymon novels from a used book store but that wasn’t one of them. I will put that on my list. Thanks!

Cool books thanks dude
Nice list. Some great titles there.
Hello I liked your video I really appreciate you just reading the synopsis of the horror books and not telling us the whole story.I love Joe Hill as well what is your favourite Joe hill book?
Thanks Teena! The 2 Joe Hill books I lived were Horns and Heart Shaped Box.
Oh I love horror novels, subscribed ✨✨
Just discovered your channels loved hex I'm a fan of stephen King and joe hill it was Stephen King that got into Richard laymon and Bentley little due to their review comments of Stephen King books i recommend the store by Bentley little and the island by Richard laymon
I’ve ready the island. I’m hooked on Laymon. Thanks for the recs!
Hex is marvelous! 🇧🇷
I thought Hex was really disappointing, I had such high expectations and ended being a kinda nothing book
what is that cover from behind you with the red devil on fire
That was a special edition of Horns by Joe Hill
all that Dan Simmons and no Carrion Comfort?
I hadn’t read it yet. I reviewed it in a more recent video.
So Jimmy, what is the better novel; Summer of Night or It?
It really hard for me to choose between one of these. I loved them both.
"In the dead of night:the mystique of the demonic Igbo mask". The cover is creepy, if feels and looks alive. I dare you get past the cover. The story is unusual, different, non-western and s-c-a-r-y.
Does Dean Koontz fall under this category because I’ve read some of his books and he’s really good
Most definitely! I’ve reviewed some of his books in my other videos.
