Hi from Russia! I find your video very helpful and also very cute! It's so lovely to see you spending time with your daughter while gardening! I have a one-stem rubber plant and will try to make it bushier following your advice. Unfortunately our climate doesn't allow to keep plants outdoor until about late May, but in summer I will definetely put my plant outdoor and hope it will be bushy in those few month.

Thank you so much for this video. Really important what you said about the sunlight requirements. All videos on internet say it is a indoor plant and they provide tips for indoor care. This way one of my rubber plant died because I followed indoor instructions. And 2nd one leaves were falling. After keeping them in sunlight for entire months I see new shoots and healthy leaves. Thanks you for your videos and honest gardening.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Your daughter is adorable! :) Just a tip....when I prune my rubber plant, I place little pieces of paper towel over the cuts and the nasty sap doesn't drip everywhere. The next day, the cuts will have sealed and you can gently pull off the paper towel.

I swear that what I'm about to say is absolutely true!!! We bought a house 8 years ago in southern Spain. Where there were already 2 large rubber plants in 2 huge pots. They are both in the shade, never ever getting sunlight and I have never fed them. They are not only doing extremely well but are absolutely HUGE. So work that one out 😂.

I live in a temperate climate, so I can only put it out during the time frame of late spring to early fall, but mine still had an amazing development! I've got 6 new branches. In August however, there was a hailstorm, which wrecked quite a few leaves of my rubber fig, so you do need to watch out for events like that.

I was looking for a video related to the breeding of rubber trees, and I appreciated it. cut the stem nodes and plant them in the soil, and it's amazing that a new root has been formed. And it was nice to be able to see the actual video of trees growing more lushly when cutting new leaves.

I can see the spots where the new branches would form on my rubber plant, i think im just gonna do a soft cutting for now come spring time and see how it does, ita about 3.5 feet tall and very healthy so i think it will be okay. I just want it to be more bushy. I would keep it outdoors if it wasnt cold in the winter where i live, so i bring it inside once the temperatures reach a certain point, then take it back out once it warms up enough. My aerial roots are only a few inches long right now, but there getting there. Such a great plant. I have mine on the side of my house where the sun rises. It gets around 5-6 hours of sunlight a day, then is shady. I only water it once the soil dries all the way. Its already put on many new leaves this growing season. I cant wait to cut it and see it branch out. Thanks so much for the informative video! 👍🏻

Thank you for the video. I've read that pruning the top off the plant stops it growing vertically and thus should only be done when you're satisfied with the plant's height. Have you found this to be the case? I have two rubber plants (one is actually a rescue lol because it was in a nasty state when we got it but it's recovering and has started branching out slowly).

It'll keep growing up unless you don't have good lighting. Plants grow toward light and these guys do good with a few hours of sun a day 🐯

Hi! How old was it when you started pruning? I have a one year old plant that I want to try to make bushier but I'm wondering if it needs to be older and a lot bigger first. It's currently 2 feet tall without the pot

Thank-you for such an informative video! And thank-you for mentioning that rubber trees are NOT low light houseplants.
