    “Every time you break a grip, that’s your time to attack and pass.” That concept alone helped my passing game a ton. As a white belt that wrestled the attention to grip payed dividends! Thanks a ton for the info

    I like the concept of the number of limbs that you are able to use between top vs bottom.

    Keenan, thank you for the very informative vid on the closed guard. Yes, I was taught the wrong way, and I’m a tall guy, it is tough to stand up. I’m definitely going to use your technique the next time. Thank you again

    What do the 4 people who "disliked" this video have beef with? I've been training martial arts and combat sports for 27 years (BJJ since '99) and still found this informative.

      TLDR: fire off a sweep quick and get out.
      i only have problems with it when i don’t fire off a sweep. i never sit in it. if the space is there ill throw it in up to the armpit and turn my leg out. cross the other foot to the far side hip and sweep. it actually sets up a NASTY bicep cutter but i let it go because i’m not even a purple belt yet.

    Is the guy on the bottom open for a heal hook when he does the Lasso guard? Ive never tried it but it looks like it's there.

    • @Krenbeebo
      @Krenbeebo 8 років тому +2

      +sinister0077 Not unless that grip on the sleeve is broken.

    • @cutthroathb
      @cutthroathb 8 років тому +1

      U would have to break the sleeve grip first like he shows in the video but it's tough to finish a heal hook on someone when wearing the gi anyway cuz there's so much for them grab on to in order to stop u. Even after u broke the first sleeve grip by the the time u sit back with their foot they're just gonna sit up and grab ur sleeve again. I guess if u were really good At heal hooks u could make it happen cuz the tap comes so quick when heal hooks are done right. I wish they were legal in ibjff cuz the heal hook guys are killing it no gi right now and I'm curious if they'd have the same success in the gi.

    Hey Keenan. Just a dumb random question, I want to know like if i train at your school or a gracie jiu jitsu school would it be disrespectful if i used the rubber guard? Thanks for your helpful videos.

    • @dragonrand5
      @dragonrand5 8 років тому +2

      every gym ive ever been in doesn't care what type of guard you use. but they probably won't teach you rubber guard.

    • @Vscustomprinting
      @Vscustomprinting 6 років тому

      Only a bad gym wouldn't go over rubber guard stuff, you need to know what you are up against
