It's the most wonderful time of the year, and it's time to celebrate! Let's take a look at some of TF2's most festive non-festive weapons. It's Christmas (Smissmas) after all, so let's bring on some yuletide cheer.

Some people have been asking about the Spy-Cicle. Rest assured, this was NOT a conscious omission like the BFB in the Meter video, and was rather an honest to God mistake. I'm planning on making a video about weapons I forgot in the Subcategories series once the year rolls over, so expect it in there. I apologize regardless.
Looking forward to that, and I’d like to make a suggestion for the omission video on the self healing side: the Pretty Boy’s Pocket Pistol. More specifically, why it deserves mention, but also deserved to not be in that video.
Short version: PBPP’s heal on hit is not significant enough to rely on for actual healing. Instead, when using it like stock, it fills the candy cane role of healing you just enough to keep you in, only this time you don’t have to win the fight to benefit. As someone whose burst damage aim is…not great, this has saved me several times. But yeah, perfect fit for the “forgotten” video: it’s technically a self healing weapon, but if you use it FOR the self healing, you’re kind of using it wrong.
jumping completely counters the holiday punch and makes it useless
Shouldn't the spy-cicle be here as well? It was added in the same update as the wrap assassin and holiday punch, the item description talks about how "it's the perfect gift for the man who has everything", and was even used in the "A Smissmas Story" comic where spy gives it to a child who then stabs Old Nick in the neck with it. Sure it's not particularly festive, but as far as a Christmas or winter holding knife for spy goes that isn't just a reskin, it's the best we have
"My favorite class is the spy"
I completely forgot about it lol. Add that to the list for the eventual "Mistakes" video.
@@TealOpalGOD DAMN IT HOW COULD YOU FORGET THE SPY CICLE I MEAN ITS MADE OF ICE I CANT BELIEVE THIS IM UNSUBBING I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE IVE HAD IT IVE HAD IT PEOPLE LIKE YOU GOING AROUND JUST FORGETTING ABOUT THE SPYCICLE THIS IS WHY THE AMERICAN ECONOMY IS THE WAY IT IS NOW BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU FIRST ITS THE SPYCICLE BEING FORGOTTEN WHATS NEXT? WHATS NEXT?????
Still all melees lol
@@orlandodanielgonzalezalcar3360my favorite class is the one who does damage
I say the negative of the holiday punch is that you can’t tickle people when there jumping
Omg if Valve every updated the game again that should be in the list
i'm surprised people forgot the holiday punch can stun ubers, that's like its main offensive upside.
i think its a mix of the HP being almost entirely associated woth either gimmick loadouts or hoovies and people just assuming ubered players wouldnt be affected cause, well, its an uber.
16:33 the sheer disrespect.
I was hoping someone would comment about this clip
@@TealOpal Well, I can't say that I am not glad to have been that person, yourwelcome! =)
The Candy Cane is better at surviving afterburn than the Sun-on-a-Stick. But yeah, becoming extra vulnerable against Soldiers (most played class) and Demos is not a fun tradeoff.
If you pair the guillotine and wrap assassin with the BBF you get what I call the "Mosquito" Scout, because the bleed damage from both cleaver and WA can recharge the BBF boost within seconds. You basically become an annoying pest that will piss off the enemy team and potentially cause some of them to try to hunt you down, and if you lead those enemies away from the objective it could give your team the advantage. You're probably going to die, but if you can distract the enemy team long enough for your team to win, then it would be 100% worth it.
Glad to see the channel's grown to the point where you've got a sponsor deal. Get that bag, king.
This video is well done, especially the taking the holiday punch seriously part.
After listening to your description of the wrap assassin, I think it would be interesting to see a video covering different weapons that have damage penalties. I don’t know what that would imply, since there are so many, but I would watch it lol.
Trickstabbing with the Holiday punch is too funny to me.
glad youre appreciating the wrap assassin. back when i played there were flank scouts in 6s even who would use it because theyre less likely to need the BB for uber building. the wrap assassin is just an (almost) free spam thing. think the wrap assassin is even meta in highlander iirc but i could be wrong on that.
Calling Pyro "Scout Kryptonite" is a bit wild imo but I get that you're probably talking about newer/very casual players.
I also think you forgot about the Holiday Punch's biggest weakness: the space bar. It's the easiest way to make sure a heavy doesn't stuff your uber push. People probably end up countering the stun by jumping during ubers all the time without even realizing it since unless you're a heavy or pushing into a sentry nest players tend to jump a lot.
I appreciate the understanding. My videos are primarily written for/from the Casual and pub perspective as I myself don't have much experience in competitive (especially recently). I never want to posture about understanding the nuances of a metagame I have no right to speak on, so I like to stick mainly to pub discussion.
The Holdiay Punch thing is 100% valid. I've personally never experienced too many players jumping to avoid it outside of dedicated Holiday Punch 1v1's but I absolutely should have mentioned it.
scout's on his knuckles shit
interested in this years update, hopefully some tight cosmetics
Holiday Punch is really funny on -1 servers that invert the stats
When it crits or hits in the back, instead of no damage it instakills and the Heavy is forced to taunt
Crazy how the Holiday Punch is in theory broken as hell but is entirely balanced by the fact that it’s used on Heavy
Candy cane are very parable play as pocket scout , like sanvitich it can be very vital to medic while nullifying down side by overheal
That's how the holidays should be about: good feels.
Wrap assassin is scouts best melee, can’t change my mind. Gotten so many random crit ball throws that do like 80+ damage.
Believe it or not, if the ball flies for over a second, it automatically Crits.
haha yeah
Not quite but good effort
@@TealOpal haha yeah

It's Christmas, not Smissmas!
@@kerenb14haha yeah
the holiday punch can be 100% countered by the jump button...
you know its pretty hard to consistently hit a perfect bhop
@@isyeayesyup you dont need to, the timeframe between jumps is tiny and you would have to land a Frameperfect punch to make them laugh.
4:39 flava scout
Man, i love the holyday punch, the only one i use, its good
I'm pretty sure you need to customize the sponsor script to your audience
They actually didn't give me a script. The stuff I said about enjoying it and having friends who enjoy it is unironically 100% true lol.

Its funi the mittens do more damage than the fucking spiked knuckles
With the Wrap Assassin, Guillotine, and the Boston Basher all doing bleed, it makes me wish that there was a primary weapon based around it as well. Like, there could be a full subclass here. The idea I had for a primary was a gun similar to the Shortstop in terms of range that deals bleed on hit. If the target has 3 or more bleed stacks, the primary does Critical Hits against them. The downside is that the gun only has two shells instead of 4 and reloads a bit slower, so you would wanna use it in conjunction with your other bleed weapons.
Point is, Scout has a subclass idea that just RIGHT THERE and Valve just... never did anything with it.
You know, a Christmassy weapon for each slot would be fun. Like, say, a cookie themed scatter gun. Then Scouts can run it with Mad Milk and Candy Cane to be the ultimate jolly mirthmakers.
All of these items are great in my opinion, especially wrap assassin!
i play on uncletopia 95% of the time, and i still run the holiday punch on defense heavy most of the time. being able to turn the tables on the kritzkrieg/uber matchup is genuinely huge
HDP only counter uber heavy as they have to be rev to do thing , rest may simply jump to deny taunt animation.
Zesty complained that the Holiday Punch shouldn't be able to stuck ubered players but I say getting caught by a Holiday Punch in back is fair game since he is the slowest class......though random crits doesn't help the case.
people dont shoot holiday punch heavys because they assume their friendlys
Just ate homemade sandvich and it was absurdly delicious
I love the wrap assassin
holy shit ive been sleeping on ALL of these. ESPECIALLY the Holiday Punch
HOLD UP
THE CHRISTMAS BOBBLE GIBS?!
Pyro Gaming.
Can we actually talk about why all the holiday weapons (including the spycicle) are melee weapons?
4:38
*flava flav
can you talk about movement enhancing weapons? there are quite a few of them
i think you forgot the Spycicle, since it was literally part of one of smissmas comics.
and whats more christmas the an icicle?
haha yeah
i am like 90 percent sure the holiday punch making other heavies with it equipped always laugh isnt true.
unless it specifically requires they be on the ground or something like if being mid jump cancels it
@@x_kill568 You cant make anyone jumping Laugh cuz you can't taunt while jumping usually
@@hawkticus_history_corner ill definitely have to check this for myself sometime then bc the jumping thing would def explain why I've never seen it despite like 1k hours
The Candy Cane is a solid weapon idea that was implemented poorly imo. Even with all the potential of free heals on the weapon somewhat punishes you for fighting groups of enemies because they're much more likely to get the health kits over Scout, I have never used the candy cane but have benefitted from it's healing upside plenty of times. If the health kits gravitated towards Scout & remained exclusive for Scout for a few seconds than team mates than everyone else I think that would make the weapon more alluring to use. I think the 25% damage penalty could be lowered too, even if Scout is good at dodging projectiles it punishes him hard for even thinking about getting hit by them.
The Wrapped Assassin is great fun even though I prefer using the Guillotine for my bleed fix. In general both weapons are great long range harassment tools unless your starving for some melee kills I'm unsure why anyone would run it over stock.
The Holiday Punch is great fun & the most alluring Heavy melee to me outside his two more practical ones. The weapon really punishes anyone who doesn't respect or notice a slow ass giant man running up behind him. If Heavy had a more confident base speed it would be a disgusting weapon, getting this weapon on a higher mobility class on a randomiser server is straight up disgusting.
Isnt scout 1-2 shot to explosives anyways, so it technically doesnt do anything but make it guaranteed 1shot or close to it
Tasteful Eminem vs ibs to intro the wrap assassin
oh my god fort boy was sponsored
when did therealjims talk about the candy cane?
Don't ever let me see that gfuel bullshit again
Weapon (Christmas) in TF2 have always seemed like a strange case to me.
