    My acceptance rate used to be near 100% with the old payment scheme; post upfront it's 44% going lower. I simply refuse to drive for anything lower than $1 per mile. Ex. They've had the gall to low blow offer me to drive up to 100 miles outta town for like $65. Fuck that.

      @businesscat2895 24 дні тому

      @@AnanseSavage This year I'm trying to leave rideshare behind for good. Last year 2023 they took a 42% cut from total gross which was a whole 4% increase from 2022. When I first started it was 25% but at present it's getting close to 50%. I used to be able to bring in 5-6k a month pre-covid doing less than 40 hours a week but now achieving those same numbers is practically impossible in my market. Time to move on.

    • @AnanseSavage
      @AnanseSavage 24 дні тому

      @businesscat2895 Well damn .. are you gonna try and start your own private driving business or just leave ride sharing alone period ?

    • @businesscat2895
      @businesscat2895 24 дні тому

      @@AnanseSavage I've considered it but the cost of commercial insurance is staggering. Also going at it solo requires a whole different level of commitment - one has to market and reach out for clients, they don't just conveniently pop up on an app. On the flipside there's those out there who are just winging it offering rides on craigslist, non-insured, in cars they don't even own with expired registrations, etc. They may get away with it for awhile until they just don't - the penalties if caught doing illegal cash rides or operating an uninsured rogue taxi are about as bad if not worse than a DUI in my state.
      Anyways besides the worsening fares I had a close call recently that really soured the gig for me. Furthermore Uber has suspended my account multiple times merely on false reports submitted by shitbag pax only to re-activate it days later - citing how great and valuable a driver I am - but never reimbursing me for any of that lost time. Regarding their social scoring system: It's practically impossible to have a 5 star rating. Highest I can maintain is 4.95 no matter what I do, say, not say, or how I drive.
      Most recently I was off the app for a whole week because of an error by Uber's background check service provider - an issue I've only ever had with Lyft before - nevermind that my record is CLEAN. My account is restored (again) but I'm so ticked off about it I haven't bothered to log back in going on two weeks. (busy with other things)
      So at this point (8,000+ cumulative rides later) I feel like they can just throw me off the platforms at any time for any reason so obviously I can't depend on either as a reliable source of income.
      On my spare time I conducted a comparative risk assessment and concluded there's actually less financial risk involved selling weekly option contracts on bullshit like Walmart or AT&T among other ventures than driving passengers or dealing with the customer service aspect of rideshare. Maybe it's just my local market, but fares are so high right now passengers quite literally cannot afford to tip anymore even if they want to and Uber's not passing any of those gains to the drivers. I'm also trying to cash out of my house before the real estate market implodes (likely only after elections) and trade-in my two cars for a solid V8 7-seater w/ a hitch cargo trailer so I can roll on out of here with my family this year.

    FYI, if the ride takes 30mins instead of 15mins, due to traffic/road closures etc. Lyft wont compensate you for the additional time. Uber will

    Yeah it’s pretty stupid for one ride I got 9.27 for Lyft and I was curious so the passenger showed me what she paid for the ride and it was like 37 bucks. How am I only getting 30% of the fair or even if that. They expect us to make it up in “tips” but with fairs so high hardly anyone wants to tip really.

    It’s weird I’m in Washington state and in January they passed a bill requiring rideshare companies to pay us a set rate which can not be lowered. 1.27/mile .37 cents a minute. I wonder if this is why neither Uber or Lyft have upfront pricing in my area yet. I can’t see how it would be possible. We all know upfront pricing was just for them to pay drivers less.

    Dispatcher Fort Lauderdale Night Shift airport You take me out of the parking lot designated for Uber cars (spot) and you do not give me a job after I enter the airport and you know the car crisis at the airport and when I reach the end of the airport you give me a job so I can enter the airport crisis again Does this indicate that you hate me Personally, it also indicates that when hatred meets, your work experience goes away, and the important thing for you becomes this driver, that you master his oppression. This is not the actions of men and women are ashamed to do it. If you are a man who meets me face to face, you fight me behind the scenes in order to find a solution to this problem, although I am ashamed to have an opponent like you because I am a man, but I will concede a little to find a solution to your enmity towards me because after that I consider you a boy and I am forced to forgive you.
