Since Uber has this deal with Tesla, they should input a pop up that explains how to get in and out when you get someone with a Tesla.
"So one technically started in Wake Forest, come on, that's basically Raleigh" in favor of cities absorbing the suburbs? Pretty based...I'm loving this Urbanist Alex era. Saying "Alright, I'm just gonna start driving" right when one pops up for a short journey was such perfect timing. You learning Morse Code to communicate with us is dedication. And kudos to the guy at 8:41 doing an arm pump for being the star of the show
Absolutely! Embracing urban growth means we can create more vibrant, interconnected communities that enhance both city life and suburban experiences. The idea that places like Wake Forest can blend into Raleigh's urban fabric is exciting-it opens up opportunities for better

@@GoHerping some do, some don’t. I’m in a mid sized city and have had people literally drive up to me and then take off when they see I’m going 8 blocks or whatever. It sucks. I recieved $350 promotion one week for completing 30 trips. It was awesome, but now the promotions are like $15 to $50 depending on which quest you choose.
One of the things that bother me the most is when a passenger sits in the front seat specially when is just them. It shows very little social intelligence. Why do you need to sit in the closest space next to a complete stranger in practically a box. I keep my front door locked, and I tell them to go to the back if they try to open it. If they don’t like it they can kick rocks.
I totally understand your perspective! It can definitely feel uncomfortable when someone chooses to sit in the front seat with you as a driver. It's all about creating a comfortable space for both parties. Setting boundaries, like keeping your front door locked and asking them to sit in the back, is a fair approach. Everyone should respect each other's comfort levels while using rideshare services. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

The window tip was great advice. I've been doing Uber for about 3 weeks now. And i've had At least 3 passengers who smelled really bad. One smell all like cigarettes which is not nearly as bad as the other 2. Who smelled like terrible body odor it was the worst I've ever smelled. I couldn't even give any more rides for at least 30 minutes to an hour afterwards cause I had to stop and clean my car and even then it took a while for the smell to go away. But the thing I regretted the most was not being able to put my window down without it being awkward so I had no choice but to leave it up.
So I like to talk about now - How was your Christmas, any plans for New Years. Bring up weather, depending on your location mention the local sports team. Ask them how long they have been in the city pros cons about the city and so on. You control the conversation. If you get one-word answers or one sentence as a response - clearly, they are not in a chatty mood and just drive them to the location. Gotta a good feel on the PAX - a lot of times theyll be appreciative that you weren't talkative. Bad workday, a fight before living the house, or whatever. Ask some starter questions and if they don't engage then move on.
Definitely have to read the room. I’ve been given good tips sometimes from passengers that seemed very unapproachable and where I couldn’t wait for the ride to end because of the vibe. But I’m guessing they just weren’t in a good mood and appreciated being just left alone.
It's actually pretty bad lol that's not a large amount of money especially after gas, wear&tear and taxes that's fuckalls maybe if you live in your moms basement sure it's good you can't live off this money lol and I wonder what the next 6 hours after these 2 looked like.
At this point, I’m feeling your frustration with opening the tesla door so you should put a sign on the back of your front seats that explains how to open the door with pictures lol
Hi! I own a business and work as a manager at another. I can probably afford a new car, but having a car paid off has made me stubborn and I estimate my new car cost to be at 600$ including the note and then insurance monthly. My idea is that I would do 3 shifts with Uber a month to pay for it. Based on your experience, is this feasible?
i haven't gotten an uber quest in over a year now which sucks. so my average earnings is $22-25/hr after electricity expense for charging. i'd say it depends on what kind of car (gas expense), how much you care about it (damage from passengers) and how long you'll keep it (resale value). mine has been very beat up from people's shoes, bags, keys. and the increased wear and tear plus now it has a ton of miles so the value is lower. overall, it's been worth it for me, i started doing these apps in order to keep my head above water last year. so this is the preferred outcome versus having to sell it to cover my other debts! personally, i wouldn't want to uber with a brand new car while also working fulltime. i imagine it may be more valuable to focus on scaling the business to generate an extra $600/mo instead of cutting into your freetime or worktime
You should consider putting a little placard near the door handle, interior and exterior, with instruction for opening the door. I’m sure a lot of people would still ask, but lol… seems like a good idea to me.
The more you drive the less often you will get these offers so don't get used to it. I've been driving (only passengers) for over 8 years part time. The last time I received an offer such as this was when I stopped driving for 2 months in the beginning of the year due to the lowered pay that began in Jan 2023. Great job going home after completing the bonus. That's the only way to do it. Don't let any of these companies take advantage of you. I have not driven in over a month in solidarity over low pay from Uber. It's the only communication that they understand. Good luck!
I never got used to strangers getting in my car. Anything could happen at anytime and you’re on you’re own. Food delivery is much more safer, convenient and easier. It’s quite dangerous doing ridesharing these days. Try to stay safe out there buddy.
yeah, i've done about 500 more rides since this video and like 490 were completely pleasant, but those few outliers really do add to the overall stress. i've recently only been doing amazon and doordash, though i'm missing out on earnings by not dealing with passengers
Uber fired me after changing my car I got a new Subaru cross trek and the company said no go to me for the background check they did and fired me I really wish they didn’t do this but they claimed I had a past background issue they didn’t find prior to buying a new car pretty sad I can only do Walmart and instacart deliveries and I’m losing my income at 45k with instacart and what ever at Walmart spark it’s pretty sad that Uber refuses to let you work when you update your cars like me! Ps not one other app has said my background is bad only Uber! And I did 260 trips before they fired me I was set for 90k a year!
Looked at a Tesla, noticed the door handles and thought they'd be a problem opening for some. Was going to put a small transparent sticker which says 'push' but looked at a different car, not electric.
they're the same app, I think there were a few individual steps to activate each one. but yeah, I just disable Uber eats and Uber pet when I go online, but keep uberX, comfort and green enabled
Perhaps try hanging various decorations in your car- to get people to talk about different things. Making use of 'conversation starters'. Otherwise, the insides of cars are pretty sterile.
If I'm doing a quest like in this video, pretty much ignore it and go for the shortest rides possible. when I don't have a quest, I shoot for about $1 a mile, sometimes a little less. Most people will say that isn't enough, but most trips around here are pretty long
I prefer Uber of all the apps as well. Although Instacart is fun and addicting. Door dash is ok if you live in a busy city. I was a delivery driver for years though and love delivering food.
@@GoHerping yes it is indeed an interesting way to make money on the side as well because you are just trying all games for maybe 10 to 20 minutes and accumulating
Lol. Without the +$100 bonus it’ll be $50 in 2 hours. Which is about $25 an hour. Typical Uber move: they lure “not so smart” drivers to think $150 in two hours is typical (which is not) and then those drivers keep driving more and more hoping to get more of those sweet bonuses (which not happen often)
@@GoHerping haha. Exactly my point! They normally give those promotions to either: new drivers. Or drivers that didn’t drive a few months. Just to lure you back into the system. Once you’re in, they keep ducking you with low a- fares.
Uber has a built in map, I assume it's just a version of google maps. but I often put the address into Tesla nav, if passengers want the car to drive itself to their destination
@@Chipinitv it's just a usb c so it can go in and of the ports. though mine is plugged into the center console cigarette lighter so i have the other ones open for phones
I wonder why you don’t like the food delivery apps. For your area it should be solid especially with colleges nearby. Or is it just having the smell of food in your car? 😬😅
I've tried it more since this, maybe 100 food deliveries total? uber eats orders are rare, aside from a few places which actually includes a chick fil a just off campus - but most offers are less than $4 for a lot of miles. Doordash gets a lot of offers, but they're usually 5-10 miles for the base $2.25 rate, even when I'm super picky and lower my acceptance rate. there's just so many people dashing that take $2 offers before it gets raised at all
@@GoHerping that’s makes a lot of sense. I multiapp between DoorDash, UberEats and GrubHub. GrubHub has the best $/mile, DoorDash has the most volume but the pay is all over the map so I try to only use DD during peak and on rainy days. UberEats is just trash for my market. It’s like $0.50 or less per mile and no volume. Definitely have to be adaptive in these hustles. Sounds like you are. GLTY🙏
lolol. while I've never been carjacked, I was using the Summon feature at the store which drives the car without anyone inside. one dude thought I had forgotten to put the parking brake on so he chased it to get inside and hit the brakes, but he couldn't figure the handle out. rip
as of recording this video, i was brand new and doing it part time. after recording this, i continued doing it part time for a few months but i haven't ubered in quite a while now. i think i did a little bit at the start of 2024, but it's so exhausting to me
They must have not had anybody to drive for Uber in that area so they needed to provide a heavy incentive hence those kind of promotions. I’m in So Calif but east of Los Angeles and I have never seen those kind of offers. It’s usually $15 for 20 trips which is a joke. I have heard from veteran Uber drivers that the promotions USED to be good. But these rideshare companies are practically bleeding money trying to survive. Awesome deal for you tho. 🎉
Yeah, sure. I worked the New Year's Eve Promo like this $50/3 rides in three hours. They literally did not give me any rides. It took the whole three hours to get 3 rides in a busy area. I certainly didn't get the darned $200/5 rides for the two hours that remained. Stop promoting this crap. It's all a scam.
When I used Uber (for rides to and from work) I talked about literally everything but only if the driver wanted to talk. Some drivers just want silence and I respect that. 😅
I also drive a model 3 for Uber and having to instruct every person how to get in and out is Soo annoying. I put stickers on my door handle so I can say "push the red dot with your thumb and grab the black piece with your fingers"
uber earnings would be funneled into self employment, so it depends how much you earn in general. for me, all my income is self employment so it's a higher bracket compared to somebody that's employed and does Uber on the side
I am a full time Uber Driver in Boston MA and I wish to get promotions like those 😅 for you to know, don't work by the (mile money) work by the (time money). I work 1 dollar per minute, 20 minutes $20 dollars , 40 minutes $40 dollars of course my acceptance rate is messed up but make money 💰 🤑 💸 😀
Now Uber is trying to let you make $22/hr in LA with Tesla. You spent long hours of waiting time to make $700/ week in LA with Tesla. If you don’t mind taking UberX share ride, you mind make more money with Tesla. Don’t forget your insurance cost for Tesla. Even regular driving range will cost you staring from $3000. If you tell your insurance company you will use it commercially, it will start from $5000 just car insurance alone.
So I've gotten better at conversations with passengers, the only problem is they almost exclusively talk about the car which I enjoy, but it gets a little repetitive for videos... my next goal is to explore more unique topics to keep things interesting lol.

Are uberx and uber eats bundled into one app? When you are online for both. did you receive uberx and uber eats requests simultaneously?
they're the same app, I think there were a few individual steps to activate each one. but yeah, I just disable Uber eats and Uber pet when I go online, but keep uberX, comfort and green enabled
In Fayetteville nc no available quest no available up-front fares
yeah, i haven't gotten a quest literally since this video. it's been over a year
When u get paid do u have to wait until u can touch the money or u can use it right then and there
you can do instant payouts which is like a $1 fee, otherwise it's a weekly deposit
whaatt people like the door dash videos more ?? I love these uber vids, the variety you get😂
i think people just enjoy watching others suffer lol
unfortunately, they dont have quest like this or them at all in Indiana 😩
i never got a quest like this again sadly
Yea those quest back in the day were lit!
Nice quick edit there... 7:58 Stop sign? What stop sign?
those are optional
Good job. Do you work in vancouver?
I love how he should us Him running a stop sign😂
What's the rules on filming customers?
Perhaps try hanging various decorations in your car- to get people to talk about different things. Making use of 'conversation starters'. Otherwise, the insides of cars are pretty sterile.
I live Irvine, California Uber works sometimes two hours Three hours a week I never made 150 I go close not far you ar lucky
When you are trying to decide whether to accept a ride what is your per mile dollar amount your looking for?
If I'm doing a quest like in this video, pretty much ignore it and go for the shortest rides possible. when I don't have a quest, I shoot for about $1 a mile, sometimes a little less. Most people will say that isn't enough, but most trips around here are pretty long
I prefer Uber of all the apps as well. Although Instacart is fun and addicting. Door dash is ok if you live in a busy city. I was a delivery driver for years though and love delivering food.
They only give those good trips to new drivers who just signed up recently.
Great video overall have you tried downloading apps like play well to make money while you're just chilling
I've never heard of that but it looks ridiculously sketchy lol. I normally respond to emails or youtube comments if there's downtime though
I've never gotten a promotion since!
@@GoHerping haha. Exactly my point! They normally give those promotions to either: new drivers. Or drivers that didn’t drive a few months. Just to lure you back into the system. Once you’re in, they keep ducking you with low a- fares.
How in the world do you get quests like that?
i don't know lmao. been ubering for a full year now and never got a quest since this video, i assumed at the time that they were more common
Hi, I also got this offer. It's because I haven't made any rides for more than one month,it's uber want me back to drive passengers.
How’s possible ? Whats your uber rank. gold, plat or diamond ?
i still haven't gotten another quest offer like this one, my rank is blue at the moment but I think it was gold during this video
That beeping noise in the beginning is nerve wrecking. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
How I never get that kind of quest ???
its been half a year and I haven't gotten any other quests since! No idea why I got this one
people being confused by how the tesla works will never get old
Hi Alex what dash cam do you use
its a vantrue from Amazon :) geni.us/GHdashcam
These are the quests we need. They took these away.
the quests we need, but don't deserve i guess...
Where is this
5:15 the infrared on her phone confused me for like 10 seconds
Ahhh a front seat sitter! I didn’t know they existed still.
Edit: interesting take!
My car wont move if they dont put on a seatbelt
Alex uploading so many videos, I can’t keep up
What do you use for GPS?
Uber has a built in map, I assume it's just a version of google maps. but I often put the address into Tesla nav, if passengers want the car to drive itself to their destination
Yeah, but what do you make the rest of the time?
usually i make $150-175 a night in 5-6 hours if i do college campuses. but since students are on break, im making more like 20/hr
What camera do you use to record???
the dashcam is a vantrue, handheld is a sony zv-1. they're linked in the description too :)
@@GoHerpingthank you where do you plug it in a Tesla?
@@Chipinitv it's just a usb c so it can go in and of the ports. though mine is plugged into the center console cigarette lighter so i have the other ones open for phones
Which city are you in?
GLTY🙏
You should just open the door for them
Where are you driving uber ?
raleigh nc
Imagine someone trying to carjack you but they can’t figure out how to open the door 😂😂
lolol. while I've never been carjacked, I was using the Summon feature at the store which drives the car without anyone inside. one dude thought I had forgotten to put the parking brake on so he chased it to get inside and hit the brakes, but he couldn't figure the handle out. rip
@@GoHerping wholesome attempt: thwarted
Are you full time or part time driver ?
as of recording this video, i was brand new and doing it part time. after recording this, i continued doing it part time for a few months but i haven't ubered in quite a while now. i think i did a little bit at the start of 2024, but it's so exhausting to me
Hi bro where are you doing uber?
central NC
Do you need special plates to do Uber in your state? In NYC you need special taxi plates to do Uber
no, you just need an Uber sticker and a paper on your windshield with your plate number if you're doing airport pickups
I thought that was like a known no no in getting in the front seat. That seems awkward
Where is this now man :(
Was that girl using a strobing flashlight to find the handle? lol
install a baby mirror will help you watch the passengers
When I used Uber (for rides to and from work) I talked about literally everything but only if the driver wanted to talk. Some drivers just want silence and I respect that. 😅
Who TF gets in the front seat of their Uber lol
I use to uber before covid and if it was a single rider more then half jumped in the front seat
Weird as F
@@DeRussellMasinalol
I have been doing Uber over 5 years I had some rude n drunk n smelly n friendly customers! I do Uber n Lyft on the side
I also drive a model 3 for Uber and having to instruct every person how to get in and out is Soo annoying. I put stickers on my door handle so I can say "push the red dot with your thumb and grab the black piece with your fingers"
that's pretty clever lol
I really hate when they seat at the front 😂
Alex made a friend 🥰
They arent wearing seatbelts!
TAKE OUT DEORECIATIKN ON YOUR CAR, MAINTAINENCE, GAS, INSURANCE.
YOU ARENT.MAKING SHIT.
UBER IS UNSUSTAINABLE.
the US has a 62.5 cent tax deduction per mile, that covers pretty much every vehicle's gas/maintenance, unless you're using a supercar
You should explain to your audience that this offer 100 for 5 trips is ones a life is not ever day or every week
u can see me replying to all the comments saying that. i was a brand new driver at the time of filming, so i had no frame of reference
Where do you live?
Hi
How much tax ?
uber earnings would be funneled into self employment, so it depends how much you earn in general. for me, all my income is self employment so it's a higher bracket compared to somebody that's employed and does Uber on the side
You won't be making that much once you become a veteran driver for Uber.
What city is this?
raleigh - but i've never gotten a quest this good since filming lol
