    "Spicks and Specks" is a song by the Bee Gees, written by Barry Gibb. When the song was released in September 1966, the single reached No. 4 on the Go-Set Australian National Top 40 (No. 1 on other Australian charts), and when the song was released in other countries in February 1967, it reached No. 28 in Germany, No. 2 in the Netherlands and No. 1 in New Zealand.
    "Spicks and Specks" is dated to early July by the memory of Geoff Grant (Geoffrey Streeter) who played the trumpet. Grant recalls working three nights in a row on four songs including this track, "I Am the World", "All by Myself", and "The Storm". There were no charts; Barry sang what he wanted live, and Grant copied it. Some of the artists whose disks came out in August recall hearing "Spicks and Specks" being worked on or completed, further confirming that early July is the approximate date of the song's recording. "Spicks and Specks" was a ballad around a strong piano beat.
    The single entered the Sydney charts at the end of September and stayed in the top 40 for 19 weeks, peaking at number 3. It appeared on the Go-Set National Top 40 for sixteen weeks, where it reached number 4 early in November.

    Unsurprisingly, Barry was quite a player during this time. I can totally understand why.

      This song went to no. 1 on the Australian charts list at the same time they left Australia to pursue a bigger career in the UK. Everyone on the ship knew about their success with their no. 1 hit but the same couldn’t be said about the people in the UK. That didn’t last long. As John Travolta once said - when these three brothers starts to sing magic happens.

    У Барри модельная внешность и потрясающая мужская фигура с длинными стройными ногами!! Одежда на нем всегда сидит безупречно!!
    А Робин всегда носит одежду на размер больше, она у него мешковатая.

      @@virginiaconner3340 You're so right, I'm a huge Barry Gibb fan. However, the reason why I love him so much is definitely his personality and lifestyle.

      @Melke.2024 Barry and his brothers were some of the nicest people in the music business. Polite with a great sense of humor. Loved it when they teased each other, and then you heard Barry's infectious laugh/giggle.
      Was so happy to see Barry receive The Kennedy Center honors. It helped remind and/or inform people of his legacy.

      @@smurfstoolsoldiesmusictimemach The recording is the original 1966 studio recording - but the visual is from a 1971 live performance in Australia. So it's not really the Bee Gees in 1966 as the title suggests - which is why the vision and audio is out of sync.

    Love his voice, but Robin couldn't keep time if his life depended on it...

    • @ilyk49
      @ilyk49 3 місяці тому +1

      That's because the audio is not from the same period as the vision. Audio is from 1966 (studio recording) and vision is 1971 (live performance in Australia) and the two haven't been synced properly. Nothing to do with Robin's timing.
