- This is Version #3 of my ultralight Silky Gomboy 240 saw. It is half the weight of a standard Silky Gomboy and functions as good if not better than the original. It has a spring loaded locking button, is high visibility red, and employs a rubber handle for comfort and reduce cold hands when used in winter.

I’m loving this saw so far ! I’ve been testing it out since early august and it works great. It’s super sharp, feels good in my hand and most importantly, is extremely light ! Thanks for sending me a promo. It’s quickly becoming one of my favourite pieces of gear ! 💚
Great to hear! To be honest, I love it too :)
Used one of your pervious iterations a bit; looks like you made all the right improvements.
Good to know. I think we all knew the downfalls of earlier versions.
This looks fantastic!
We are getting very close!
That looks amazing!
Production version is being released in about a month. Very exciting.
Really looks great dude. Well done
Thanks, I appreciate that. I put a lot of work into this.
Hope it pans out. I would certainly want one of these.
It will make it to production, just a matter of time. It is so very close to perfect right now.
This is really cool!
Glad you like it.
Would buy these. I love the silky but it is a little too heavy for trecking. I woul definly get a lighter version. Make it titanium, less than 100 € and I order ;)
We released the production version in February of this year. There is a new video up on it and it's available on our website.
@@Suluk46 I would have bought if you were in europe. But with VAT price is too high then !
@Suluk46 Looks amazing. What do you think the weight will be? While I love to carry a light pack, I'm not a "weight weenie," I'm just curious. I have the Corona 10-Inch RazorTOOTH Saw and it's okay. Used it in late December during an overnight trip to cut down a couple small trees - maybe 4" in diameter at the most - and processed it all into firewood.
Anyway, well done. Thoughtful design. Looking forward to seeing what you bring to market.
I'm just finishing up the first batch right now. Weight is under 6 ounces. This will be released in the coming weeks.
@@Suluk46amazing! Well done. I'll buy one. I'll message you on your website so that I can get on your list.
Looks awesome.
Same saw I carry while adventure motorcycle riding. Well the heavy stock one , not your light one ;-)
Might be time for an upgrade..he he he
What’s it cost$ I went to your web page and couldn’t find it.
Not available yet. But soon.
What is the purpose of the 2nd locking position?
Just for ergonomics when cutting at an otherwise awkward angle. Gives some options.
Can you let me know here when the saw is available for sale?
I can add you to our newsletter, that's the avenue to get to know first. Just send me your email.
Ill take 20! No but seriously. Silky needs this bad. There is not a darn thing on the market for backpackers for a solid saw besides Laplander saw, which is still heavy to the size needed. Thats a nice size that beats a tiny 5 inch saw. Hopefully all is well and you can get thsoe back in stock.
Thanks for the kind words. They will be back in stock shortly
.. As a long term carpenter ,, the pull cut is unnatural ,, are there blades with either straight or forward cutting teeth ??
Check out our Uki Bucksaw for something that might interest you. A traditional bow saw is probably a better fit for someone who wants to cut on the push stroke, as the vlade is supported on each end. The pull saws will actually cut on the push stroke to some degree, but depending on how hard you push into the wood, that will load the blade in compression, so it will either buckle or break.
I'll buy one and give you feedback?
That's the plan. Basically a small batch of beta versions released for additional feedback. Just need to work out some kinks on this versions.
Where can I buy one?
My website next month.
Awesome I want to buy 2!
damn @BenAylsworth needs one of these!
Everyone needs one :)
