Heather descent One of the million trails at Winhill (was skipping through a bit) Screaming mile( Now has been felled as is a MESS) Went uo Whinstanley Torr which is a horrific climb (not worth climbing tbf do it as a descent) Then cut onto i think its called Alpine track (usually a bit frowned upon riding and is in a bit of a state. Dunno why think its some weird clashing parties as usual luke the main way was original footpath. Anyone looking to do this or similar woukd advise going up from lady bower inn, down to the Dam, up towards Hagg farm descents , cross over to winnhill , climb the beast then go down Winhills fun trails for a bit better variety , alternatively head alongbthe Res until you find a thin muddy trail with a sharp right into it) If starting hope / castketon side : Climb broken road , go round to the edale / backside of mamtor through the hill cut in , take the trail heading up the hill passed ghe bus stop , follow along the trail path made of stone until it widens a lot and you can see the majority of edale / castleton both sides and head down the trail on the left (just before another uphill) ride along road towards Hope not back to castleton. Head uo jaggers clough , up to hope cross way , decide on potato alley , the beast or upto Winhills peak to do roman road (about 1 mile DH of rocky shared space goodness or sample Winhill and rotate round via alternate paths. If taking potato alley would advise crossing snake , go down Hagg farm and cross again then go along bottom of res to meet above route then do Roman road. Above average elevation climbs tk distance , good variety of flowy / mellow trails to the bit more crazy . Good variety of terrains. 100% will always have mud.
@OriginalCyclist aye , local 😂 some nice XC / "Enduro" routes Hayfield way too. Lovely 20 mile loop you can do with some epic cake stops at Sett Valley cafe and Dutsons Marple. If your ever passing just go to Dutsons it's amazing! They do a house brick sized Mars bar
Ace video! Been looking at bits and pieces to throw into a peaky d ride and the ladybower route looks ace. Thoughts on doing it on a hardtail? Definitely looks like something we'd prefer in the wet as the some of the group are newer riders 🤦😂
You have probably done the ride on the hardtail now, but hardtails are fine. Did a 30+ miler around there yesterday on my hardtail amazing! Dont go too crazy on pressures as its super rocky in places , and you don't want to get bounced off line. The modern hardtails with enduro geommetry, 2.6 tyres ect handle those steep, rocky descents extremely well. Beautiful place
@@matthewneeds285 glad you enjoyed it fella! Yeah we did a big loop last year throwing in lady Cannings, devils elbow and had a great time. Kept pressures low and I echo your thoughts about being bounced off line. Just gone tubeless so might want a insert for some of the stuff in the peaks!
Love riding around there and the different bits you’ve done look amazing. Fab video as always 👍👍👍
Thanks buddy
I've ridden here for quite a few years, brilliant fun, my ebike make sense up the Peak district.
Yeah an e-bike would work well on some of those climbs!
@@OriginalCyclist I actually rode up the beast on one.
@@fatyowls you're mad! 😂
Lady bower or even the peaks have some fantastic trails guys. Nice😁👍
Thanks dude 🤘
Ya cant beat the Peaky goodness. I do love the Dales but most riders im with live near the peaks. Enjoyable video.
Peaky goodness, like it.
Great route. Much dryer when I last did it 😀
I can't wait for some dry trails again!
Cool! Is that last descent Bamford edge? Never ridden it but definitely going to after seeing that.🤩
Not sure what it is called but it drops down to where the pub is on Ladybower. The Ladybower Pub maybe? 😂
@@OriginalCyclist That's from Whinstone lee tor, know it well.
Could you post a GPX file of the route please?

If starting hope / castketon side :
Climb broken road , go round to the edale / backside of mamtor through the hill cut in , take the trail heading up the hill passed ghe bus stop , follow along the trail path made of stone until it widens a lot and you can see the majority of edale / castleton both sides and head down the trail on the left (just before another uphill) ride along road towards Hope not back to castleton. Second :) good to see you out in the wet and rain! Starting to think it was just me!
Ha ha! I don’t usually film in the rain as the footage is usually unusable but the weather caught us a bit short!
Your videos are lowkey addicting man keep them coming!!!
Thanks man. Working on it 👊
I saw an awoplane ... great vid btw

Yeah, hardtails are fine the Peak. I don't currently own one, so full suss is my only option but you do see people riding hardtails there.

That looks proper gnarly
There's some great natural stuff there
What’s the name of this trail/loop? Thanks
I’m not sure it has a name. If you search for popular Mtb routes near ladybower and Edale you’ll find them
Very stable chest mount footage, may I ask what go pro you’re using?
Just a hero 9, nothing fancy
Have u got a route for this m8
It was years ago, so not a GPX. There are a bunch on here which cover the same trails flattyres-mtb.co.uk/route-guides/peak-district-mtb-routes/
Hi, looks like a great route. Did you record it on Strava? Would be interested in doing it myself one day.
I did but I keep my account private. If you pause at the start you’ll see the route
@@OriginalCyclist cheers mate
