      @andrecurtis2335 4 роки тому +12

      @@gaiita Is that why Asian Americans are doing so well? Think! We need to start recognizing our power for self determination. Politics is a corrupt playing field, and blindly following behind ANY politician is a foolish practice. Sis, heed the gravity of my words: Politicians don't tell you what you need hear, they tell you whatever is necessary to get your vote. Kamala used to brag about her imprisoning our brothers, now all of a sudden she is anti-police.
      Black people continue to be at the bottom of the barrel because we continue to engage in the same self deprecating practices. Change is difficult, but better is only possible through change. We have so many wealthy black political leaders running black cities and neighborhood yet we have the worst cities for decades. And if your ONLY explanation is that whitey is holding us down then you deserve the pathetic results you're getting.

I was accepted to Brown ED so i’m a bit biased but from all that Brown has done for me so far, I would recommend Brown over everywhere else. My only tip to you is don’t focus too much on the rankings of these schools. At the end of the rankings are always changing and all these schools are great! Fellow biology major here at Stanford! Neurosurgery is the third top competitive match to get into after graduating from Med school. Reach high young brother and get educated on the field you aspire to go into.
    Tip: Do not tell your professors or other snooty biology/chem majors about you wanting to go into Neurology. I can tell you that in our field being someone of color and wanting to attend Med school is already a reach and foreign to the major demographic in our fields (ahem Whites and Asians) so when asked what you want to get into say: I wish to be a physician someday. And let that be your driving force. Saying that you wanna go into a specific field makes people look DOWN on you really quickly. Also, Gen Chem will humble everybody in the room real quick so keep watch on that. Much luck on your journey! Go to the counselor's office regularly each semester. Get in your hours and take those chem classes in your 2nd year if you can once you get out all of your humanities out of the way!

    • @matthogan1000
      @matthogan1000 5 років тому

I have a sister with cerebral palsy and growing up I wanted to become a neurologist in hope of working with people with cerebral palsy. You have now motivated me even more. Congratulations on your amazing acceptances!

    I rarely tear up, but the story of your brother and his impact on your ambitions moved me to tears. I've watched this video almost 6 times but I usually only skip to the Penn acceptance in hopes that one day (hopefully December 16th) I will receive the amazing news you did, but this was the first time I watched till the end and I'm so glad I did. Keep being great, we are all rooting for you!

    Thank you for renewing my faith in these college acceptance videos. Yours was preceded by the world’s most vapid and annoying girl that I had to shut down halfway through as I could no longer listen to her whining and putting all these schools down for failing to recognize her mediocrity and “like” how she totally fits in to USC so she has no idea how they couldn’t accept her [insert vomit].
    You are going to be an amazing doctor! Thank you so much for sharing your journey and all the great advice. Well done, young man!
