Hi chaps, just caught up with your channel and I have to say, what a lovely mixture of sail(?), humour, pathos and cheese! As an east coast mud plugger, a little bit envious of your location. Keep up the tolerable work!
Thanks Chris, south coast has its ups and downs. I guess wherever we are we can consider ourselves fortunate if we are able to get in the water. Thanks for your comments, made me laugh, and sail safe. Dave
Nice day for a potter Dave and Dave! When I see you I will bring my own cheese- I am partial to a nice Cheddar- American cheese is nasty. Dave you are improving that boat way too much ! Joking apart solar is fantastic and is so helpful. I am back in July to Lymington doing a spot of sailing so I will maybe come see you both in Beaulieu. And those sausage rolls were just caught in time Dave !
Hi Dave and Dave good to see you back. Well I have my Moody now and I am doing almost as big a refit as cool runnings she is still on the hard but I will look forward to showing you and swapping notes. This time of year it’s best to fill the heads and the water system with food safe environment friendly antifreeze. I hope that Cool Runnings survives your callous neglect. Cheers H.
Hi Jochen, Dave O has a beneteau 36CC and I have a Swedish built Najad 390. Let us know if you make it to the Solent and join us for a beer. Thanks for your comment.
Beautiful part of the world, and congrats for not running aground. You guys love to live dangerously. As a past British Rally Champion, I thought I stuck my neck out, but not a patch on you two. Do you allow motor boats up the Beaulieu?? Must visit again. Looking forward to more of your adventures.
@@davidoliverinsights1 Oi!!, that’s you off my Christmas card list, and don’t dare touch the bottle I give to Dave Rabetts (which he told me not to tell you about). I’d have hoped you would understand that this 79 year old ex Atlantic sailor finds it very difficult to handle those white flappy things now, especially with a 76 year old wife that refuses to go up the mast these days😀
A quick question. Why, or rather how, was the water system expected to work and/or allowed to freeze if use was required? For ‘experienced yacht masters’ it is rather unfortunate! 😂
No! No! I made a choice based on years of getting it right that the temperature would do no damage and I haven't emptied my water tank this year. HOWEEVR HOWEVER on Pelaonia you have to drag water every trip cant wash up cant drink copious amounts of tea. Sorry I stand by my judgement
Sorry about that Michael. We will be back. Weather and travel have interfered somewhat. Mr. Oliver gets back from the States this week and then on Friday we are on his Cool Runnings for the fitting of his humungous cockpit enclosure. Hope all is well with you.
I'll not hear a word said against your mothers sewing. I was just very glad there were no pictures what happened the next day when you wore the repaired trousers into work
Hi Guy's. I feel rather smug that I drained my water system out and put antifreeze in my head's now! Oh and one other thing to pull you up on with the comment, grandkids swim in the river, if you read the berth information, technically swimming in the river is prohibited 🙈
Hey Tommo, how are you? Good move re the water and didn't know about the swimming thing. I swim with my grandkids off the back of the boat all the time. Keep it quiet now.
@@LeeShoresLazyJacksandLunches I swim too 🤫 I'm ok thanks, I had a mild heart attack in October, was diagnosed with diabetes in December. But it's ok. New diet, lost over a stone in the last 3 weeks alone and feel pretty good. Hope you are all ok too.
@@fat_tommo_goes_boating wow Tommo, that was a tough three months. Makes you think about what’s important in life. Glad it was mild but look after yourself. You’re in our prayers. See you on the river for a swimming race in the summer.
PLUS PLUS .. Every year 'Ive drained my water tanks and never needed the 4 month waterless irritation.. So I have risked it this year enjoyed my water for washing up and showering been bliss
Thanks for the update
That looks like just the sort of hideaway gunkhole that I would like to visit!
Come on down and bring a beer!!!

Sounds crazy idea to go out in freezing temperatures. But on the other hand it's such lovely sunny day

Let’s try and get that sail this year Fiona.

Good to hear from you Hillary. Glad you got that Moody even though there is plenty to do. Good solid boats those. Still in Bembridge?
Well done.
Great video and look forward to your next one with hopefully some sails hoisted . ⛵⛵⛵
Thanks Shakes. Hope all is well.
Good to see your not just fair weather sailors! 😀
I think I have to question the notion that Rebbettes is even a sailor Justnot convinced
Steady on you two.
Hello Dave and Dave! What a cool YT chanel you have!
What kind of vessel do you sail? I will visit the Solent in autum!
Best regards Jochen

Dave drinking tea again!!!
Together with the obligatory constant trips to the heads. Never ends.

Motor boats are most welcome Michael. Come and say hello to the two daredevils.
@@LeeShoresLazyJacksandLunches Look forward to it - do I have to bear gifts?

Very true Kevin, though your use of the plural concerned me. There was only one Dave at fault in this particular manner. Stay safe old chap.
