I recently bought a $200 ebay replica of a American Pro 2 Jazzmaster, It was mostly appealing because I am in school and cant afford anything real. Im glad to know that when it comes there is a chance that it isnt garbage.
If you’re looking for a great tone, a replica where changing the pickups won’t ruin the design is the way to go. Otherwise they’re fantastic wall pieces, with a semi decent tone
Do you think getting a rep of a guitar i cant find the original of and swaping the pickups is a good idea? The rep is a 150$ lp style guitar and im planning to put pickups of about the same price, or should i just get a 300-400$ lp?
Hmmm. Here’s the thing, I have a replica of the ESP Kirk Hammett mummy guitar. Even if I replaced the pickups, it’s still a cheap guitar. What my recommendation would be is to check out a guitar from Firefly. They have some awesome LP designs and their quality is far superior to a no-name replica. Also, the firefly is cheap enough that you can change the pickups on that too. A firefly with upgraded pickups would be a badass guitar for $400. Their website is Guitarsgarden.com when you get there, their LP style guitars are called FFSP. Let me know what you think of their designs!
@ Thanks for the fast and long response. Sadly we don’t have firefly’s here but I guess I’ll look for similar guitars. Btw, do you know about cort cr 200? I found a cheap one close by but they have mixed reviews so wanted to ask.
@ if that’s the case I’d get a used LTD EC-256. It has the LP shape and the pickups are actually pretty good. They’re $499 brand new so I think you can find a used one in your budget. As for Cort, I don’t have any experience with them. But I do know they’re made in the same factories as other brands. Everything I’ve heard about Cort has been positive, I just don’t have firsthand experience to know for sure
I would type in what you’re looking for. For example I typed in Kirk Hammett guitar. When you see what appears to be an expensive guitar for a fraction of the price, you know you’re looking at a replica. Also, it will have a “Gibson” logo if you’re looking at LPs as opposed to a budget brand guitar in the LP shape, with the budget brand’s name on the headstock
Not quite. But, with these poor quality pickups, unless my hand was in the exact sweet spot, Palm mutes sounded terrible. That’s not the case for my other guitars. In this case, the shorter strap put my hand exactly where it needed to be
It's not really a whole lot different than the expensive one the trem is a piece of garbage on the cheaper one and the pick ups suck worse but do a couple upgrades and you got a really decent guitar
You don't have to replace those pick up covers you can use the same covers and put different humbuckers in underneath the original covers I did that a few times just take the pick ups out of the original covers and it should mount right switch the pick up rings out and pick up covers and put them in your EMG pickup mummy would still be okay and EMG active pickups underneath.

I’m hoping it will be great! Also, what you play it out of will influence the sound greatly
did it come in how is it?
Sometimes, a cool guitar is more of a great walk hanger! Nice demo!
Are they technically just pickup covers, can’t you swap the pickups but cover them with those, or does the eBay one have active pickups aswell?
No the pickups are passive and I think it’s painted on the actual pickup
sounded the same...if I played that kind of music id save my cash and get the replica
The pickups are not pickup covers with the design on them? It's actually on the pickups?
Do you think its worth getting a Chinese dime washburn on aliexpress?
I was about to ask on that other comment if you could do a review on the replica, but you did it looks like

What you’re saying is. It doesn’t totally suck. And it looks really cool? I was waiting for some Scott Ian dance moves
Haha that’s exactly what I’m saying. Funny enough I released a short 5 days ago, “how to Scott Ian in 60 seconds”
@@thetattedbaldguy I will have to watch that😂

How do you even find an eBay replica? I’ve always been interested about the LP models

@@thetattedbaldguy I think I knew that was the point you were making
very nice bro, sounded great
Thank you !
How is the neck chunky?
Not at all actually.
these are just pickup Covers... you can remove them and switch the PU without changing the Design!
Good idea. I have is getting the jim Root active emg set because they have no covers and putting the painted covers on them
So a set of pups and most likely a better trem and you’ve got yourself a metal machine. I’ll have one in the ouija design. 😃
Well sent all you’re doing is chugging. I don’t hear a difference.

That’s a great point. I’m always a fan of upgrading the less expensive models

does the bridge stay in tune??
It has a Floyd rose, chances are it will
