It looks good. A number of finish mistakes, but no deal breakers. The biggest problems are the pickups and the frets. The pickups in mine are weak. They almost sound like hot P90s. The other issue is the frets. Excellent fret ends (ball ends) and the frets were polished smooth. The problem is, there are a number of high frets, making the guitar unplayable above the 10th fret unless I raise the action to an unreasonable level. I'll have to waste the new set of strings and break it down again to fix those frets. We'll see what I end up with. Overall, I really like this guitar a lot. It reminds me of my ESP LTD M200fm (waaaay back when they were neck thru). I'm glad you turned me on to these. Really liking this new project. BTW, I wasn't sure if this was an actual neck thru. It appears to be. If they contoured a set neck heal this extent, I'm not sure the glued in neck joint would survive the string pressure/truss rod counter pressure) for very long. They would have had to remove a LOT of supportive material to make that contour. On the other hand.... who knows. They painted the cavities, so I can't tell that way. @@FultonStreetBeats

This will "probably" be the last update, to not beat a dead horse. I found nine high frets. I leveled and re-polished all the frets. The result was major. I didn't consider that the quacky P90 sound was something other than the pickups. It was. There was so much fretting-out going on, that it was transferring through the pickups. Now, with the fret buzz gone and the dead frets resolved, it doesn't sound like that anymore. It sounds like a guitar with weak humbuckers, but that I can live with. It no longer sounds like a hot single coil. I order new pickups and they arrived. Unfortunately, the maker of the guitar seated the pickups in the covers with epoxy, not wax, so I don't see me trying to do the swap. The covers on this model are key to the aesthetic, as they have lettering printed on them. I would rather live with the decent, but not great sound, rather than risk ruining what the guitar offers visually. I got this one for a very personal and important reason, so it doesn't need to be perfect tonally. Once again, thanks for doing videos on these guitars. I really like this guitar A LOT overall and wouldn't have known about it but for your video. Yours has become one of my favorite channels, in part because of videos like these. All the best. I always use random sellers. Mostly from eBay. I just make sure they communicate well ans have good feedback before I order. Also I make sure it's USA stock at the moment.

kinda funny I was messing around with my schecter and it was acting funny. The battery was dying. .

Really I had one and mine lasted for at least a year the battery was good for a long time mine was the schecter demon six with Floyd Rose always remember to pull the cord out when through playing it

Eddie Van Halen's blew me away. Does this play like an ESP. I've had RGs since the late 80s and keep seeing these fake Jems. I've had a Japanese one and a USA custom shop. And I'm just as happy with a $400 RG with the FR licensed trem.. I feel like I'd be buying a replica Ferrari, sight unseen, just to end up with an old Fiero with a plastic body kit glued on.. But the Fiero GT was awesome.. And I always completely modify whatever I get. It's the feel I'm concerned with. Does it feel like an ESP?
It feels fantastic. I haven't played a ESP version or LTD version of this guitar to compare. But I can tell you it feels better than my Schecter Super Shredder in my opinion. I will be updating with all neck measurements soon.

More likely a glued in set neck construction than a through neck design at that price.
It's possible though. I bought a Bullfighter strat style guitar on Amazon about a year ago that is definitely a neck thru (unfinished wood construction, 7-piece neck). It was only $219 regular price. On the other hand, the heel on the one I just purchased (white OUIJA) seems "lumpy" in the Ebay photos, so it may be that they chamfered the heel to try to make it look like a neck thru. I should be receiving it in a few days. I'll let you guys know which it turns out to be.
@@cbbinyMy only scepticism is Fender Japan in the 90s and maybe the 2000s had glued on wallpaper photos of flame maple for their flame maple topped strats/teles. I've seen plenty of them, genuine products, on Jauce/Yahoo JP auctions. Otherwise that can be refuted by the fact that the industry is extremely connected now than ever before and you indeed could easily find a neck through construction rep/fake anywhere for the price of a set neck instrument. The wood is not hard to come by anymore and even flame maple isn't wallpapered on because people are smart to avoid such ridiculous industry practice/experiments of old. Having said above I'm inclined to believe your guitar could truly be a neck through. I've had an SLX Soloist neck through, those cheap models that came out 10 years ago, transparent finish. If they can afford it, the rest of Asia can, reps or not.
