Thank you for joining me for this adventure.
In this video, I try the hot tent setup one more time.
After last month's fail, it was time to head out and do some hot tent camping again.
This time, correcting the issues.
I acquired a hot tent wood stove of much smaller proportions. Making venturing out further possible. IN this video, I spend a night in remote Muskoka, deep in Ontario wilderness.
The lavvu tent is pretty impressive.
The name of the hot tent stove I use is 3W Stove
Enjoy the video.

Sweet winter camping
I really like it too. With this setup, venturing out further in sub zero temperatures is really not a problem.
I love my lavvu. I have size 3 and I got my son a size 3 lavvu also so we can have our own for camping.😊
I am actually packing mine for a trip tomorrow. Simply the warmest for cold weather.
I totally appreciate you not editing out the true reality of the hot stove setup. Sometimes when I set up mine it’s the same way, and other times it’s a breeze.
It’s called life.
And this video was great... thanks!
I got pretty good at the setup since then but it always comes down to how frozen my fingers are.
Wow
Very cozy setup. Just have to keep an eye on the fire.
enjoyed this that flue was a bit of a pain but worth it in the end, shared to my group...Polish & Hungarian Lavvu owners Worldwide...atb
Thank you very much for watching and the support.
@@WildernessBushcraft a pleasure look forward to future videos
아늑하고 딱 좋은 구성같아요
잘보고가요^^/
It absolutely was. I love this setup for the cold nights. The stove comes with me in May for a 100km hike in the mountains. True test only to come.
Nice set up man! Love the Lavvu ! Looks like you had a comfortable , enjoyable evening ! Hot tents are cool !! Adventure on my friend !
I was so impressed with it. It's my go to tent from now on.
@@WildernessBushcraft They are awesome ! I have half of one LOL !
@@WildernessBushcraft Canvas does a very good job at holding heat !
You got to love them Loons LOL. I feel your pain!
Glad you noticed. It teaches patience with freezing fingers.
It was a great video! Muskoka is beautiful, I have to go check it out. We have similar terrain in northern Saskatchewan (North of Prince Albert), although our temperatures may drop a lot more in winter.
I love using the polish lavvu for winter camping. I think all around it's the best tent I ever shad for winter camping and ice fishing, snowmobile treks or on foot.
I don't mind carrying the extra weight of equipment I know is reliable. I have tried a version of the tent stove you used here, and the tinfoil chimney system. It would be fair to say, that it is probably reliable in a climate like BC, or Europe, but they can be unreliable and dangerous in the conditions here and where you are. They can bend too easily, the chimney collapsed on me due to a build of hoar-frost on a night of freezing cold and ice fog.
So I made a small stove out of a .50 cal ammo can, and made a chimney from auto exhaust pipes, that fit into the stove, and even though it means extra weight, if you build it right, it's reliable and safe for heating the tent and cooking.
Thanks again for the great video, I really enjoyed it. Can't wait to see more!
Thank you for the tips. I will definitely be looking out for it from now on. I do have an alternative but it's rather bulky and on the heavy side. Can't beat the folded up size and weight of a titanium stove. This makes me want to try it out during the next Polar Vortex.
pleasant camping
Nothing beats the sounds of nature when you're alone in the woods. You notice so much more around you.
@@WildernessBushcraft I agree
Waterproof it and you won't have to worry about summer "leaking"..... there's silicone based waterproofers that retain the canvas's breathability.
Thanks for the info. I will definitely look into it.
That stove looks great but the set up seems like a pain in the ass ! Especially with cold hands ! Thanks for sharing man !
I agree. Handling of metals at these temperatures is frosty.
Just have to make a secondary camp fire for setup and breaking down camp🏕🔥🤙😁
Thumbs up for the Hortons up hahah
Gotta have my Timmies
Yeaaa nice camp simple too enjoy it for how long? Now this video the view at night right, nice
Glad you enjoyed it. It was a quick overnighter. Two days.
@@WildernessBushcraft haa haaa yea u r welcome bro next time i wants to go camp with u
I'm a great camping companion
Yea i m u r fans now,from indonesia
Wow. The other side of the 🌍. Awesome. Thank you my friend.
Your a better man than me ! That stove would have gotten stomped ! Lol !
Still loving it. Can't beat the weight and small folded size. Will see what the future brings.
5 years and going strong patience is a virtue 🤙😁
I was worried your food was going to fall off of your stove the pans were hanging right over the edge. Great video though!
Lol It is a compact setup for sure. Thank you very much for watching.
💪💪💪
😊
I fast warded the fluke part. It was painful to watch. Lol
Lol. I'm glad you watched the video either way. I agree, the flue was a pain at first. Got much better at it. It does take some practice. You skipped the loons?!?!?
What type of tent protector are you planning on using? I have the same Lavvu and stove, and I'm looking for a good way (other than guy lines) to hold that stove pipe secure within the arm hole. I've seen someone on the Lavvu FB group use a Trangia Lower Windshield to put the pipe through, but not sure if it's the 25 or 27 series so I'm looking for options.
I ordered k e online. It is essentially a perforated pipe on the outside of the flue. It comes together at 5 inches in diameter when assembled. Im hoping for it to hold the flue in place a lot better than 3 sticks. That worked pretty well until the pipe got too hot. Then you better not be sleeping. Lol
I will look up the company and reply to you with it. Hope it helps.
The top of the pipe is still an issue. I'm thinking of using some dope with metal hooks at the end to attach to the pipe with the rings provided with stove. Then stretch 3 lengths of the door now attached to the pipe between some trees a d should be fine. I will be trying this method. It's all about the wind.
The company name is Packraft Sverige from Sweden. They have a titanium tent protector there. That's the one I ordered
@@WildernessBushcraft For my outside burn in I clipped 3 mini carabiners to one of the top rings and ran paracord out to stakes. In the Lavvu, without stovejack support, I was going to try running one guy line to the top of the Lavvu and the other two, out away from the Lavvu.
@@woodswalker7579 that's worth trying out. I will try it out tomorrow. Heading up for another overnighter
Hey I am planning to camp in Lavvu. I had some questions. Do you have any social media where I can contact you ?
SUre no problem. The link to my facebook page is in the banner of the channel. Use that.
Hi, please tell me where i can buy this stove? Link to store please.
I got mine from a website called Packraft Sverige. I forget the link but it's easily googleable. It is from Europe. I have nothing but good things to say about the stove so far. Looking forward to some colder temperatures to try it out in that.
Omg. Lmao. I have the same stove and have never had the set up issues that this guy is having. Makes it look harder than what it is. Bahahahha
Thank you for watching.
Where did you get the sweater/jacket?
I picked it up from Lester River Bushcraft. It's a us based website. They custom make the anorak for your size. Very happy with mine.
I just watched your video You can tell you don't know what you're doing I'm Glad didn't watch you back when you put it out
Ahh the humble beginnings. Still learning but getting better every time. Thank you very much for watching.
what is the name of the jacket?
