Just a few days ago I asked myself this question... and you amazingly make a video on it! Thank you Drake! 🤙🏻
Ask and you shall receive! Ha
Been Detailing boats in New Jersey for 11 years, I still like watching your videos because I like to see other peoples process. Keep up the good work
Another great and informative video drakey 😊😊😊 cant wait for your new ceramic for boat
Thanks! Ha
awesome again,,i really appreciate the videos you make,,i’ve been learning a lot on maintaining my boat clean and shiny 😂👍🏻👏👏thank you!
Glad I could help!
Merry Christmas, from Germany / Berlin !
Merry Christmas! Thank you for watching!
Thanks so much for your awesome content. Your videos have helped me so much with DIY buffing, to the point that for the first time after a lifetime of running boats as a professional captain and for recreation my boats look ALMOST as good as the pros can do. One small request; would you consider making a video on how you buff the little hard to reach areas? Like behind rails and stanchions, inside radius corners etc? Stuff that is impossible to reach with the buffer?
Thanks again for your content.
Thanks for watching I appreciate it!
Those hard to reach areas I usually use a 1 inch pad on my flex pxe80 or sometimes by hand even
Great video looking foward to the next one,STARKE products work good i haven't used all of them yet my boy Brian was the Co founder of reel shine I really like hybrid marine sealant
Awesome! Yea it’s good stuff
Hey man! Have you used the lake country glass cutting pads? How are they if soo?!.. Love the video's, keep it up man!
Just went through this on a boat I restored for a customer. Glad I did it right seemed the best way to me.
I used 50/50 vinegar 3 or 4 times, barely touched it, then tried meguires 47 (i think it was 47) that got almost all of it off, then I used a green hexlogic pad on DA and Smoove pro Cut 2500. That worked out good but it was really bad stains from a few years of water spots stacking up. I have the forced rotation pads on the way to try with my Bosch GET65-6N sander that has forced rotation. Excited to see how forced rotation is before ordering the flex.
Sometimes you’ll have to use a rotary on the glass with a wool pad. Glass can be a pain to remove swirls though.
Another super helpful video, thanks Drake.
What would you do if the hard water stains have stated to etch themselves into the glass?
you would have to polish it like paint or gel coat. Menzerna on the flex 3401 with the white or orange pad works well.
found and watched some of your videos, very helpful. How about one maintaining teak cockpits? I didn't find one , Looks like excellent work!!!!
Just keep them clean, that’s really it!
Really appreciate all you do, thanks a million. In lieu of that white pad, would an orange corrective pad or red finishing pad by Griot's work? Have a Cabo Express and the windshields have a lot of hard water stains that I've tried most everything on which does ok, but definitely not great...will be trying your method in this video. Down in the Fl Keys and things like this are hard to come by. I have both aforementioned pads as well as the griot's 6" machine. Thanks again.
Hey there! For polishing glass, I think that combo would actually work pretty well!
I’ve got a proposition...I’ve got a 20’ Tidewater center console, and I constantly find myself coming back to your channel for tips on all things maintenance for keeping her looking new! I still struggle with getting her perfect and then maintaining it with how much we fish and use the boat. Would love to purchase airfare for you to come to NC for a weekend and take you fishing and then at the end of the weekend spend a day doing a complete detail and ceramic coating and pick your brain on daily/weekly/monthly maintenance. Would love to know if you’d consider exchange of airfare and 2 days of fishing for some of your knowledge!
Would you use these for Plexiglas/acrylic/Perspex windows?
Hey Drake…. Love your videos… I have a Milwaukee cordless variable speed rotary polisher… can I use that to shine my windows?
Hey Todd!! I personally wouldn’t use a rotary polisher for windows. I would either use a DA polisher or a riced rotation machine
Thanks Drake! Can I just get an inexpensive one from Harbor Freight?
Digging the Stark line of products. Can I use these products on automotive glass?
Yes
Great video Drake! Do you have a recommendation on how to get a 7 yr old glass shower enclosure that's cloudy and etched due to hard water back to it's original shiny clear glass?
Ideal would be CarPro CeriGlass, rayon/felt glass pads, a rotary polisher, patience. Once you get it back to clear and clean, use a water spot remover frequently enough to prevent etching again. I like IGL Delete. I keep my shower doors and stainless appliances coated with TAC Moonlight. A rinseless wash solution wipe down is usually all I need to clean. It's awesome. 👍
Great video Drake! I definitely need to do this on our boat as the water spots are really bad from the previous owner. Question, how far will the 100ml bottle of Thor go? As an example, how much of that Viking could you coat with it? Thanks again and keep up the great work!!
Thanks!
I could do 2 coats on the entire exterior of the superstructure with one bottle.
The ceramic coating really goes a long way. I could probably do the entire top side with 2 1/2 bottles.
Which Flex Polisher are you using? And does it oscillate the head?
What do you use on the black plastic of the window trims? Every time I wash it and touch it, it has black residue that gets on the fiberglass, then leaves black markings all around on the gel coat. Any help would work. P.s. the water spot remove stilln left hard water mark steaks on the glass. It's really built up on there.
Great video! Will this process work for auto glass?
Yes for sure!
Consulta , si quiero utilizar esa cerámica aquí en Miami fl en los vidrios debería esperar igual ? Los 10 minutos, pregunto por el sol y las altas temperaturas
If it’s in the hot Florida sun, I wouldn’t wait 10 minutes. It’s usually about 30 seconds in the hot heat that you need to worry about removing it.
@@DrakesDetailing thank you
GF to bro Since underdog complete products aren’t available for window water spot tasks then what would you suggest? I’m ready to roll here

Can you use ALL of these products on your gelcoat or painted surfaces of your boat? Or do you recommend waxes on gelcoat/paint?
DO you have a video that shows how to deal with etched in water spots?
Not yet!
Question… what should we expect when the ceramic expires???
Will it start to crack? Chip? Will it be opaque? Thank you!
Hey bro! You’ll notice it starting to wear down and it not be as shiny, or dirt resistant.
Hey Drake, can I use other colour of foam pad for the glass???
You can use orange or white, but I personally wouldn’t use any other one.
@@DrakesDetailing ok well noted. Thanks for the info Drake. Hope more videos and tips from you. Cheers …
Great video/ I see you have gone to stark can you still give names off other items that you use as in the uk can not get this and to ship it across will cost to much money for us to make any money plus on the wool pad it seem you use the white heavy cut on most polishes is that correct
Yes, starke has been working great for me, but menzerna is still very good! You guys can buy menzerna over there!
Menzerna wax & menzerna 400 are very good products
On the wool pad do you double sided all the time and is it heavy duty as when I click the links it come up with heavy duty wool pads
Thanks for your help
I really like the double sided pads. Get is pad

Any tips for removing swirls in the glass on like center consoles those always have swirls in them?? Thanks
Hey man! I would just use a DA with a foam pad and a light polish
@@DrakesDetailing thanks brother
Is it okay to apply the products you used on hot glass in the summer?
Good question, No it should be semi cool to the tough.
Apply in morning or evening
Is there a point where the etching is too bad to be restored? I have tried so many things on my windshield and nothing has done the job.
Yes-depending on how deeply the glass it’s etched. At that point, you don’t want to try to go any deeper to remove them if the etching is that deep.
Whats your favorite way to remove yellowing (leaf/mold stains) from the inside of a boat compound or is there a chemical that works. Same also question but for rust stains.
For rust stains I personally use a product called "Rust Aid" it comes in a brownish bottle! Hope this helps.
Same, rust aid will do the trick.
You can buy rust aid at Home Depot
Do you have to polish after removing water spots with either venom or wsp
Yes you can polish afterwards if desired
How do u go about removing swirl marks on glass other then sanding compounding and polishing, have u found a easier way?
No not really, I’m honestly not a master at polish glass, Iv hard hard times fixing scratched and swirled up glass.
I have had good success with an orange lake country force foam pad with menzerna 400
@@DrakesDetailing I’ll give that a shot, most of my customers don’t have this problem but some do and it’s a pain to do it but it sure does look good at the end of the process. Great tip and vid nonetheless.
Thanks bro!
Hey brother, Jason here, I've got a 2020 52ft viking coming up for a detail, how much should I charge for the same process you completed?
This was about $400 for both sides
how can i buy this kit ?

slightly off topic but are you using your Cannon camera for recording the video and then speeding up the footage in editing? Or are you using a timelapse or some other setting? The editing and recording work you do is great, that's my least favorite thing I have to deal with. If you are ever short of video ideas, that could be one of them! cheers!
Nice! Ha yes I use my cannon to record and speed up the footage in the editor
can you put polymer sealants on glass?
yes!
Princess 72, i tried acid, the old water stains on side windows doesn’t disappear 😢
Did you try this method? Or any sort of compounding polishing steps?
@@DrakesDetailing rotary heavy cut polisher does not help as well, other princess boats i just buff these stains, but one i have now just not working, i think at least i should try stain remover
I found out from an auto body guy that the only thing that truly cuts waxes oils and things is amonia
Have you even fallen off a boat while working on it
Yes, ha!
