I’ve been using that stuff since it came out, it doesn’t make the deck that slippery, I’ve used other water beading deck sealants and they are so much more slippery. Great product and great video.
Please try a drill brush! I use it with comet and it will get the non skid super clean, bright and and ready for wax. I use the yellow which I believe is a medium bristle.
I definitely appreciate the video Drake. I have come across many boats here in Michigan that are not well maintained. This step-by-step helps much. Thank you
GREAT video! I did this last year and it turned out great. What should we do for regular and yearly maintenance for this system? Do we need to compound yearly? Thanks!
Hey man! You should not need to hard buff like this every year. You can maintain the shine by keeping a good polymer sealant on it every 4 months and regular washes with Si02
So sweet thank you. Been looking for the right way to clean them. My gunnels & floor are non skid so I do this video on those. Question: my hardtop is a t-top, gel coat & highly oxidized. Can I use this same approach to make it shine again? For example my finger tips are whitish when drag them across it. What are your thoughts around this? Many thanks.
Yes, but for best results if it’s chalky I would do a 1000 and 2000 grit wet sand then these steps. Use mirka abralon sanding disks. drakesmarinedetailsupply.com/products/mirka-abralon-foam-grip-disc?variant=37398779494576
@@DrakesDetailing Awesome. ok! its a center console, so if the center console is chalky then follow the same process. Sounds like I have to really do good restore all around, then go into maintenance mode. Salt water & sun really kicks the crap out of gel coat. Thanks Drake!!
So got another question for you. My wife was helping me clean the non skid on my new boat and get it ready to seal it with starke hyperhold to protect it and make it easier to clean in the future. I went to the store to get some more microfiber towels and a few other things and she had already applied the nautical one non skid and had already starting applying the hyperhold over that before I got back. Will that matter as we did it backwards from what you did in this video? Really couldn't say anything to her because in all reality I am blessed to have a wife that actually doesn't mind helping keep the boat clean and I told her what I was going to do and use but not in what order.
Drake I love you videos. When it comes to cleaning non-skid I can’t get those very small rust spots. I was wondering if you tell me how to get rid of them.
This video is exactly what I need. Thank you so much! Do you have any tips for cleaning the rubber handles? My boat has those black spots like this one does. Curious how to get it off. Thanks again!
Awesome content. I am using the meguiars one step 67. stuff works great on flat areas. i am having difficulty getting in rounded areas and recessed cleats. Any pointers?
Yes, I personally wouldn’t use meguires. The results will not last. I’d switch over to shine supply’s line of compound. shinesupply.com/ use my discount code, DRAKE15
I'm learning a lot by watching your videos and I appreciate it. My boat is new and I've been using the Star Brite Non Skid Deck Cleaner every time we wash the boat. Will this be sufficient for keeping my non skid in good shape? It says it has PTEF and advertises it provides a protective barrier. Thanks!
Hi Drake. Great video. I am taking ownership of a new Everglades 315 this week. What would you recommend to apply topside to seal? Should wash with dawn and apply a ceramic coating? Or should I use Jescar power lock and top it off with colonite. Thanks for your help.
Hey man! If it’s coming from a dealership, I would use wake up polish on an orange Lake country force rotation pad and Jescar powerlock. Before doing both of these steps, it would be advisable to wash with Dawn first. shinesupply.com/collections/marine-products Here’s a link to all the products I mentioned above Please use discount code: DRAKE15 at checkout 😎 Hope this helps !
Wow! Thanks for the tip about Antonio and Marines Shine! I'm out on the East End of Long Island and my only wish was I could get someone like you to detail my boat! Will call him today!
Hi Drake, fantastic videos throughout! I'm curious if you re-made this video today if you would use all the same products for the non-skid or if there are any products that you would substitute? Thanks and I'll do my best to buy through your links!
As a follow-up question, how do you tackle removing grime from plastic non-skid such as ladder and anchor covers that are not fiberglass/gelcoat? The fiberglass cleans fairly easily but the plastic seems to want to retain the stains. Thanks and best wishes as always Drake!
Instead of wool pad, I used a foam pad with DA polisher and Meguiars ultimate compound. I didn't have the stuff Drake used and also I didn't have an orbital machine. After this, my non skid still looks and feels night and day better.
great video. I have snap in carpets over my non skid flooring. I will use this method to seal the gel coat floor. What is best to protect the carpets? I am thinking of starting with pressure washing and drying the carpets. Any suggestions on marine carpets?
Drake's Detailing How about waterproofing Bimini Tops and covers? I’m thinking I’m going to lay them out on clean concrete and pressure wash those two. What’s the best product to put back on them to make them waterproof again? Any suggestions…
Looks great but just noticed the seats need heavy work. Wouldn't you want to do those first since the chemicals will be washed down onto the fresh floor?
Hey great video and going to try these steps on non skid. We have some on the bow and worried about the wax on the hull we just did getting washed off with the use of the purple stuff cleaner. Did the hull before we saw this video! What would you recommend? Paul
Great video as always. Question, how would you recommend cleaning and maintaining a soft grip floor like SeaDek or Gatorstep? Any product recommendations would be welcome as well?
A diluted degreaser like super clean will clean them right up! I kinda go over it in my “detailing a ceramic coated boat” video, I believe it’s around 6:45.
I did the Jescar Power Lock on my 35' sailboat topsides and when I buffed with fiber towel I went home. This morning I have a blue haze all over the boat. I called Jescar and spoke with Eric and they never heard of this before and are going to research it. I sent in pictures and a link for this video. I told them that I think you know your stuff but I'm in a pickle as I do not know how to remove it. I tried to use a yellow 3M wool pad (Dry) and it did not faze it. I need to safely remove the stuff and still have the ceramic next step to do. Thoughts??
Kick ass video! 🙌🏾 I’ve always omitted non-skid Unless it’s over 10 years old. We finish with a nano coating from Permanon to give the glowing protection about the non skid.
Great content as always. Do you do the nonskids before or after compounding the interior? Bumping the rotary with super cut compound on a detailed panel might screw up the finish?
Just bought a 2005 center console - your videos have been super helpful trying to figure out how to get it looking like new! Just wondering when I do these steps on the non-skid - is there any reason I shouldnt also do it on all the other topside surfaces? For instance the center console is very chalky so I am wondering if I can apply this process to it to get it looking like new
Great information thank you! I take it since all theses Gel Coats restorations require don’t type of harsh cleaner like degreaser I should save the non skid for last if I can’t to the complete boat in 1 shot correct?
Yes, I always like to save the nonskid decking for last because that is always going to get dirty until you are completely done. I always start from top to bottom.
We where waiting for this one. thanks a lot man, you’re videos have been so helpful. Quick question should I use the buffing brush instead when it comes to old school soft sand types of non-skid ?
I’d still stick with this method, I don’t find that the brush has a nice finish, or you can do the first step with the brush then do the rest as in this video! Thanks for the comment
Great information, but how about other types of non-skid. Our cigarette has a non-skid on the deck "bow section " that looks like it was done with a paint roller. Very coarse. Just eats the pad?
Just finished my boat with your total system, (Starke R, Elevate, Jescar +, Nautical 1 non skid protector. Took a couple days but looks like a new boat. BTW, how do I clean the Jescar out of my pads? I've soaked in SuperClean for an hour, still greasy. thanks, Rob
Question regarding Pads. Should I change my cutting pad when I move from Heavy Cut Compound (Presta Super Cut) to Medium Cut Compound (Menzerna Heavy Cut 400)?
Absolutely you should. Use a white wool cutting pad with the heavier compound, and then use a yellow lake country wool medium cut pad with the medium cut compound. You will notice all the difference!
@drake It is really great in this video how you have the product currently being used overlayed in the bottom right corner. I have so many videos up right now, and this really helps me scan the videos to find which product at what point in the video. do you intend or would you consider keeping this feature?
Amazing video brother. Like the content. How do you deal with aggressive non skid patterns? The foam applicator your using in the video would be done in no time on my boat😐
I use this for all the nonskid patters, heavy cut compound with a double sided wool pad and I hold the buffer sideways and follow whatever pattern there may be
One last question in this regard. Considering I'll be using Shine Supply Heavy Cut and Chop Top when I polish the HULL, can either of these products replace either the Presta Super Cut or Menzerna Heavy Cut? I'm just trying to reduce what I have to store.
Drake, great video. I have the non glossy sandpaper type non skid. Do these same applications apply to it or should i use a different method? Thanks for your time. Got minor oxidation
Great video, thanks for posting. Can see how this works on diamond non-skid but what do you use (if different) for more of a sand paper type non-skid like you run into on a typical sport-fish?
Thanks Drake, awesome video for renovating the non-skid. Question: can I use the Ardex 600 for heavy cut on the non-skid or has to be Presta super cut? And vice versa - can Presta be used on the topsides? Just trying to see if 1 product can be used for both as I do this just once a year. Thanks again
Love the videos Drake! For buffing the rest of the interior boat deck (everything else besides the non-skid), would you recommend this same process? I noticed in your before and after how much shinier the fiberglass walls became
Hey man! I would do a little bit more detail the the “smooth” gelcoat on the interior of the boat. How much oxidation do you have in your interior? That will tell me how to direct you better! 😎
Great video!!! I have been working on my boat following your advice and things are turning out great. Since I'm sanding the rest of the interior with 1000g, is it ok to also do the deck? Thanks again for the great videos!!!!
Really enjoyed your vid. I believe you mentioned using "Presta Super Cut" and "Jescar Powerlock Plus Polymer Sealant", as two compounds used in this project. In a different vid, you mentioned you like the "Starke Level R Heavy Cut Compound", for 2021. I noticed on the Jescar site, they have a new "Jescar Ultra Lock Plus Polymer Sealant" introduced. My question is, would you change to these two newer compounds mentioned or stick with your initial recommendations in your vid? Thankyou for your vids--very educational. Grant
How does the Jescar Power Sealer you generally use in recent videos compare to the Nautical One Non Skid Sealer you used in this older video? Is the Nautical One sealer better specifically for use on non slip? Thanks!
Great video...I got questions! (I'm a new detailer. Did 1 boat and quoting another today.) Can a DA machine work on the non skid or should I invest in a rotary? Also, do you do these same steps for the rest of the gelcoat surfaces topside or is this specifically for the deck?
Yes absolutely, please see one of my many gelcoat correction videos on my playlist on my channel and you’ll see that most of what I do is the “smooth” gelcoat, and it will be a step by step on how to do it! 😎 Yes I do think a rotary would be a good investment for you business! Hope this helps! 🔥
@@DrakesDetailing thanks! Greatly appreciated! I used a DA on the first boat I did below the rail and it worked great. Based off your method of using the edge of the pad to get the diamond- deck style nonskid I can see how that may not work too well for me.
You don’t want to ceramic coat over a wax or polymer sealant. It won’t adhere. If you got the ceramic route, you polish and perfect the gel coat, degrease it, then apply the coating.
Hey Drake. Big fan of yours. I have (molded) non skid on top of my gunwales. How do you suggest cleaning and sealing. Its a new boat in great condition....wannna keep it that way.
I have the same, drake said to do it in the same manner as the floors. He has a video out there where you don’t have to do all the steps if gel coat is in good shape.
Hi Drake -thanks for the video! I’m wondering how much power lock we should be using? It looks like you used a really small amount, but I don’t think you mentioned the actual quantity. Thanks!
Awesome video! Thank you for dropping all the knowledge. You have inspired me to tackle this on my own. I have a 32’ sailboat that is 17 years old. It has lived its life on a lake in north Texas and I don’t think the gel coat has ever been cared for. It doesn’t leave white on my hand when rubbed but it is dull and absorbs every thing that gets on it. Do you think it would be best to use a deep cut, polish and seal or just a polish and seal? I have a dewalt dwp848 polisher, will this be ok for all steps? Feeling pretty good about being able to do this. Feeling the only real challenge will be the hull sides since the boat is in the water. Thanks again for what you do.
Hey drake, how much do you charge for doing non skid? Is it included in the price per foot when doing correction steps on the rest of the boat or extra?
I'm in the mid-atlantic which means about a 5 month boating season. The boat is covered for usually 5 months. How often (x per year) do you apply Jescar sealant ?
Hey Drake, great great videos thanks, would it be a useful "plus" to protect with a specific nano ceramic or whatever coat the non skid? or better to maintain it regularly with an Sio2? just wondering cos i dont find the same products in italy. thanks
Ceramic is the best options, but also the most expensive. I typically recommend even if you ceramic coat it, to still apply the Si02 on a monthly bases
@@DrakesDetailing ok thanks a lot, one last question, i have a 2005 trophy 2502 wa, how would you quote the gelcoat hardness on those? again thanks for those tips and videos
Hello drake, I noticed when I connect the 8” double sided wool Pad to the makita 9237c. once it’s in place. The screw of the polisher sticks out. Is there a bit or extension I am missing. I do not want to scratch the hull.
Yes you need the double side pad adapter. drakesmarinedetailsupply.com/products/double-sided-rotary-pad-adaptor?_pos=1&_sid=22988f116&_ss=r We are sold out, but you can get it on Amazon
Hey bro, you need a rotary variable speed buffer. A grinder is not made to run continuously like a buffer will, and it will not provide the same results. It will just overheat.
I have lots of oxidation on the interior of the boat (other than the deck) around cupholders, cleats, etc. It's a smooth surface. I'm fairly sure the process would be similar process to remove the oxidation, but do I need to handle it different from the gelcoat or non-skid? This is 2002 Seadoo Islandia. And is tape/cloth the right method around seat cushions that are bolted?
Hey Corey! Yes, the gelcoat you will want to cut with a buffer, then swirl remove nicely so you don’t see the “halos” in the gelcoat. As for the nonskid, you can just use the sideways method as shown in the video. You don’t need to worry about this on the nonskid because you don’t see the swirls or “halos” because of the pattern of the decking (aka it’s not smooth like the cockpit gelcoat because it’s textured).
About how long will the wool pads (double sided last for you? I have some deep gangway ledges since it is a cuddy cabin/walkaround - and I'm going to try using the side of the wheel since the dewalt is too wide to reach down when held parallel. Regardless - good instructions as always; much appreciated. Stay hydrated in that FL heat.
I highly! Highly endorse Nautical 1 products! Their Sio polish is what I put on my boat. It’s sex smooth and slick! Minimal wipe down after taking the boat out of the water.
Hello, I have a small red boat, it got heavily oxidized, I was able to restore it all but I can’t seem to get the oxidation out of the nonskid deck. Any recommendations to get the color back?
What do you recommend for the LEGO brick style non skid. This stuff is litteraly Like abunch of little spikes almost and it’s destroying my pads. I’ve done half the top deck of a 34 foot race sail boat covered in ropes (absolute nightmare with the rotary I know) but it’s destroyed 2 of my pads and I’ve only done one step on half the deck 😂 I signed up for a nightmare.
Didn’t work for my on the topside of my Pursuit. Mine seems to have mold in the gel that won’t come out. Maybe a stiffer pad is needed? How are wool pads rated?
Just wondering how you would clean and wax a sprayed micro bead non skid for the bow of sportfishers without removing the nonskid. Id love to hear some opinions
I just use alittle super clean and water to clean my pads... rinse them out very good and attach it to the rotary buffer crank it all the way up and let it run for about 30 seconds. It willed perfect every time. Microfiber I just use Arm and hammer detergent and white vinegar in the washing machine. Dry them on tumble dry only!

Love the videos! Great info! Just bought a used Boston Whaler and previous owner hit the floors and other nonskid areas with SoftScrub. Would you recommend this same process to bring it back??? Thanks!
Is there any way to use a rotary for vinyl seats in bad shape? Or will it just pull the protective layer off and destroy them? I’m restoring an X-star I got for a steal with only 250hrs but the seats are terrible. Trying to resell it and not spend $6k+ on reupholstering if possible.
Hey man! A buffer will absolutely destroy and rip right through your vinyl. Just try some diluted degreaser with a magic eraser, then follow up with a sealant afterwards

I’ve been using that stuff since it came out, it doesn’t make the deck that slippery, I’ve used other water beading deck sealants and they are so much more slippery. Great product and great video.
Awesome! It is a great product for sure!
Please try a drill brush! I use it with comet and it will get the non skid super clean, bright and and ready for wax. I use the yellow which I believe is a medium bristle.
Thanks for the tip!
Great job I have been watching you for a couple of days now and you have taught me how to detail my boat to the max thanks a million
I definitely appreciate the video Drake. I have come across many boats here in Michigan that are not well maintained.
This step-by-step helps much.
Thank you
I like it! You always learn something new in the boat maintenance business 👍🏼
Yep! There are better and better boat detailing products coming out!
Love your videos! What do you typically plug your power tools into? Do you often run into situations where there aren’t any power outlets around?
I require that the boat be near adequate power and water sources in order to be able to do the detail
Yes exactly!! Maintenance is everything! Wax your boat every 4 months like clock work!
Try rust aid or a product called iron x by car pro
@@DrakesDetailing thank you i will be trying it out and i will let you know if it works
This video is exactly what I need. Thank you so much! Do you have any tips for cleaning the rubber handles? My boat has those black spots like this one does. Curious how to get it off. Thanks again!
Hey! Can you send a picture of what you are referring to to my Facebook or Instagram? @drakes.detailing
Thanks for all the tricks and tips

Wow! Thanks for the tip about Antonio and Marines Shine! I'm out on the East End of Long Island and my only wish was I could get someone like you to detail my boat! Will call him today!
Hey Drake - realized I can't find the information about A Marine Shine in the description details. Is Antonio still operating?
I do not know, let me check
@@DrakesDetailing Thanks Drake!!
Some great video bro. Lot of great info.
Thanks man! 😎
Hi Drake, fantastic videos throughout! I'm curious if you re-made this video today if you would use all the same products for the non-skid or if there are any products that you would substitute? Thanks and I'll do my best to buy through your links!
I was just getting ready to ask the same question
Pressure washing is the easiest way to clean them, make sure they dry good! You can apply 303 fabric guard on them after to protect them
Drake's Detailing How about waterproofing Bimini Tops and covers? I’m thinking I’m going to lay them out on clean concrete and pressure wash those two. What’s the best product to put back on them to make them waterproof again? Any suggestions…
303 fabric is good for that as well! Or even better is IGL fabric guard
Looks great but just noticed the seats need heavy work. Wouldn't you want to do those first since the chemicals will be washed down onto the fresh floor?
Yes, but in this case we weren’t doing the seats
What do you do for the inside walls of the boat.? Do you polish and buff as you do with the hull.? Ottawa, Canada.
Drake's Detailing perfect, I’ll take a look at that video. Thanks for the very quick response.
No problem
I did the Jescar Power Lock on my 35' sailboat topsides and when I buffed with fiber towel I went home. This morning I have a blue haze all over the boat. I called Jescar and spoke with Eric and they never heard of this before and are going to research it. I sent in pictures and a link for this video. I told them that I think you know your stuff but I'm in a pickle as I do not know how to remove it. I tried to use a yellow 3M wool pad (Dry) and it did not faze it. I need to safely remove the stuff and still have the ceramic next step to do. Thoughts??
Awesome video!! Quick question have you ran into having to detail Bimini top plastic windows? What is best product to use? Thanks:)
For cleaning or protecting ?
Both. The clear plastic has a toughness to it I think from not being washed after use in salt water. Could I get away with using jascar sealant?
Yes, but if it feels rough jescar won’t remove that..
Kick ass video! 🙌🏾 I’ve always omitted non-skid Unless it’s over 10 years old. We finish with a nano coating from Permanon to give the glowing protection about the non skid.
Nice!!
Great content as always. Do you do the nonskids before or after compounding the interior? Bumping the rotary with super cut compound on a detailed panel might screw up the finish?
I usually do the floors last, I’m never really had an issue with messing up the finish. If you do hit a spot, just polish it back out
Just bought a 2005 center console - your videos have been super helpful trying to figure out how to get it looking like new! Just wondering when I do these steps on the non-skid - is there any reason I shouldnt also do it on all the other topside surfaces? For instance the center console is very chalky so I am wondering if I can apply this process to it to get it looking like new
you can use the same steps!
Only different thing I’d suggest a microfiber pad for the da for laying down the jescar for partical type non skid
Micro will work great with both as well!
Great information, but how about other types of non-skid. Our cigarette has a non-skid on the deck "bow section " that looks like it was done with a paint roller. Very coarse. Just eats the pad?
I’d suggest chop top compound with a foam waffle pad on a rotary
Nice work as always!
Thank you!
Just finished my boat with your total system, (Starke R, Elevate, Jescar +, Nautical 1 non skid protector. Took a couple days but looks like a new boat.
BTW, how do I clean the Jescar out of my pads? I've soaked in SuperClean for an hour, still greasy.
thanks,
Rob
Awesome! Glad I could help!
You don’t clean Jescar out, just save that pad for Jescar only
Question regarding Pads.
@drake
It is really great in this video how you have the product currently being used overlayed in the bottom right corner.
I have so many videos up right now, and this really helps me scan the videos to find which product at what point in the video.
do you intend or would you consider keeping this feature?
Thank you for the feedback!!! Yes I intend to keep doing this!
Super video 🤩Will it be even shinier with yellow woolpad with the menzerna 400 or the same as with the white wollpad?
Non skid really Doesn’t shine, so that’s why I don’t waste the good pads on them
what do you think of Shurhold compound? Is it abrasive enough to remove moderate oxidation? How about their polish/wax - does it last long?
Wasn’t a fan of there products, they didn’t wow me. The brush and machines are good though
Sure, I suppose you could.
Drake, great video. I have the non glossy sandpaper type non skid. Do these same applications apply to it or should i use a different method? Thanks for your time. Got minor oxidation
Same steps will work fine
Great video, thanks for posting. Can see how this works on diamond non-skid but what do you use (if different) for more of a sand paper type non-skid like you run into on a typical sport-fish?
Same system!
The Ardex cakes up a little too much to do nonskid with m, I’d stick with the presta
@@DrakesDetailing thanks a lot again, Drake. Cheers
@@DrakesDetailing Thanks for the reply! Lots of oxidation, it's a 1983 boat that's never been refinished.
Great video!!! I have been working on my boat following your advice and things are turning out great. Since I'm sanding the rest of the interior with 1000g, is it ok to also do the deck? Thanks again for the great videos!!!!
I usually don’t recommend sanding the deck, become the gel coat on the non skid is very thin, buffing it like in this video usually does the trick!
Grant
I’d switch to starke level r heavy cut and use starke hyper hold
@@DrakesDetailing Thankyou, I appreciate it. Where and how do I donate? I'm new to this. Grant
How does the Jescar Power Sealer you generally use in recent videos compare to the Nautical One Non Skid Sealer you used in this older video? Is the Nautical One sealer better specifically for use on non slip? Thanks!
In my opinion, just car holds up a little little bit longer. The nautical one is still really good stuff!, You just need to apply more often.
Awesome informative video, keep it up bro
Thanks brother!
I have ever video shows but your video are the best I do mean that brother drake from GA I am going to take all of your advice brother drake
Thanks so much for your kind words!
Hi Drake, After I do this procedure, is it possible to put a ceramic coating over the polish and wax sealer?
You don’t want to ceramic coat over a wax or polymer sealant. It won’t adhere. If you got the ceramic route, you polish and perfect the gel coat, degrease it, then apply the coating.
Bro your the man
Thanks!
Hi, great video!
Is it possible to perform this procedure with an oscillating machine or do you need a rotating one? Thanks :)
rotary is best!
Hi Drake -thanks for the video! I’m wondering how much power lock we should be using? It looks like you used a really small amount, but I don’t think you mentioned the actual quantity. Thanks!
I can get about 10 25 ft boats out of one 32 ounce bottle
Thank you such an informative video
Glad it was helpful! 😎
Did you do your sailboat? About to do all of this to an 85 Catalina.
Hey drake, how much do you charge for doing non skid? Is it included in the price per foot when doing correction steps on the rest of the boat or extra?
Yes, if I give somebody a package deal, then the nonskid is part of it. So it’s included in the price that you give them. Just wrap it into it.
I'm in the mid-atlantic which means about a 5 month boating season. The boat is covered for usually 5 months. How often (x per year) do you apply Jescar sealant ?
I would apply it twice per season 😎
Killin it as always
Thank you!
For a brand new boat right from the factory and dealer can you just apply the non skid sealer to it with out a strip wash and buff?
@@DrakesDetailing i managed to find a dealer selling the presta super cut compound, would it be comparable to the super 600?
Yes! Presta super cut is great use it instead on Ardex 600
It’s hard to day how the gel coat is, all boats are different, even from the same manufacturer
Drake, after the wool cut with presta, should I switch to a fresh pad for menzerna? Or just keep on rollin. Thanks again.
In a perfect work yes, but on non skid it isn't so important that you use a different pad.
Hello drake, I noticed when I connect the 8” double sided wool Pad to the makita 9237c. once it’s in place. The screw of the polisher sticks out. Is there a bit or extension I am missing. I do not want to scratch the hull.
Yes you need the double side pad adapter.

We are sold out, but you can get it on Amazon
@@DrakesDetailing Thank you brother.
Great video, thanks for the info
Glad it was helpful!
Great video man 👍🏼
Thanks bro!
Can you use a grinder with a wool pad, or do you NEED to use a variable speed buffer?
Hey bro, you need a rotary variable speed buffer. A grinder is not made to run continuously like a buffer will, and it will not provide the same results. It will just overheat.
How do you feel about putting a Marine Ceramic Coating on the non-skid?
What is the price list do you recommend ( reasonable)?
I usually charge $15-$20 per foot per step
Your the Man!
Thanks!
Hey there! A good wool pad will last for about 60 feet if you take care of it, and clean it out about every 10 feet of use
@@DrakesDetailing Good advice - and thanks again; be well!
I highly! Highly endorse Nautical 1 products! Their Sio polish is what I put on my boat. It’s sex smooth and slick! Minimal wipe down after taking the boat out of the water.
I have used their products before, and they are definitely very good 😊
Bro, how about trying out the usual market stuff availible in the uk.
Those tips would be well amazing for folk over here. 👌
What products are over there ?
Hello, I have a small red boat, it got heavily oxidized, I was able to restore it all but I can’t seem to get the oxidation out of the nonskid deck. Any recommendations to get the color back?
m.ua-cam.com/video/u2IQoU8Vjrw/v-deo.html
What do you recommend for the LEGO brick style non skid. This stuff is litteraly Like abunch of little spikes almost and it’s destroying my pads. I’ve done half the top deck of a 34 foot race sail boat covered in ropes (absolute nightmare with the rotary I know) but it’s destroyed 2 of my pads and I’ve only done one step on half the deck 😂 I signed up for a nightmare.
Hey bro! Sometimes unfortunately that kind cannot be buffed because you’ll burn through the nonskid in the buffing process
Didn’t work for my on the topside of my Pursuit. Mine seems to have mold in the gel that won’t come out. Maybe a stiffer pad is needed? How are wool pads rated?
Wool pads typically come in medium, and heavy cut. I’d try a heavy cut wool pad if you are not getting the results with just a foam pad alone.
Just wondering how you would clean and wax a sprayed micro bead non skid for the bow of sportfishers without removing the nonskid. Id love to hear some opinions
the same way as this video. Just more surface area
Would love to do this, but would take me a month on my catamaran nonskid!!
Haha, it definitely is worth the results though 😎
How do you clean your pads and microfiber rags? Any specific product?
I just use alittle super clean and water to clean my pads... rinse them out very good and attach it to the rotary buffer crank it all the way up and let it run for about 30 seconds. It willed perfect every time.
Microfiber I just use Arm and hammer detergent and white vinegar in the washing machine. Dry them on tumble dry only!

Yes absolutely

Thanks for that tip Drake⚓⛵👍
Thanks for watching!
Can you put the ceramic wash and wax in the foam cannon?
yes!
For heavy oxidation please name the products you would use from start to finish? Thanks Richard
