Thanks for this video Tim, super helpful. For those reading comments, the customer service from Crankbrothers is SECOND to NONE. Amazing. Thanks again Tim!!!!
The needle bearing is 11.8mm long, make sure your 14mm socket is deep enough to catch the bearing. Otherwise, you will drive the rod into the bearing. If you don't have a deep enough socket, a proper sized hole drilled into a 2x4 works good
Can i install the refresh kit (w/roller bearings) on an eggbeater model 1 ?
What can I do if the slotted plastic end cap won't undo with a slotted screwdriver?
the plastic cap would not hold up to a screw driver and stripped imediately
8Nm for hex endcaps is way too much! CB service bulletin I have says 3Nm!
How do you get the cartridge bearing out if it disintegrated and all that's left is the outer part of it stuck inside the pedal? It's also blocking the drift from pushing out the igus bushing.
Might be a little late but I took a 14mm drill and drilled it out. Worked fine
How do you determine if the pedal is 2010 or newer?
The easiest way s to head to the support section on our website and send the tech guys a email with a picture of the pedal. They will be able to tell you the year and provide the exact part numbers you need.
Is there any kit for egg beater C 2012?
what is the average life of a pedal
Hey Rahman,
There are many factors that go into estimating the life of one of our pedals. For instance, pedals used for riding downhill or more rugged trails will wear quicker, whereas for cross country riding, pedals will wear slower. We also have various levels of our pedals that increase in durability as you go up in level.
Ultimately, proper maintenance will extend the longevity of the pedal. Here is our recommended maintenance schedule: www.dropbox.com/s/zspt19h9p45zrg7/Pedal-Maintenance-Schedule-JUN20A.pdf?dl=0
We do have a warranty on our pedals as well, so if your pedals fail prematurely, feel free to contact our warranty team and they'll be happy to evaluate your case.
Thanks for your commment!
