    No way in hell does that Igus bearing come out on my 2017 Mallet E. I tried and tried, it seemed like it was solid aluminium, not like the one supplied. The rest of the install was straight forward.

      I must have the same pedal as you! The instructions with my refresh kit show using the solid metal rod to tap it out. Hahaha, not mine! The pedals have never been rebuilt, though, and have a couple thousand miles on them, so probably stuck pretty good in the housing. This video confirms my thoughts of needing to use a small screwdriver to tap them out.

      The manual here ist absolute Bullshit ! The actual Mallet E / DH have a solid aluminium stop sleeve machined out of the body and acting as a hard stop for the bushing. This makes it impossible to get the bushing punched out ! You have to punch so hard that the alloy sleeve will crack and come out with the alloy piece looking like a separate washer plate.

    The igis bearing (clamshell) which came with my pedal refresh is too large. It cracked upon trying to press back in. Old one slipped in with just my fingers and a little grease

      I have been wrenching for years and replaced many linkage bearings in many frames. Your carbon bushing is hard as shit to remove. Make a video with some extra tricks. Maybe a video rebuilding used pedals would make sense for a realistic refresh.

    Hi, when you say "Igis bearing" is this the one that is the needle bearing, or have you changed it for a bushing? The old pedal rebuild kits with the needle bearing were great. I own 5 pairs of crank brothers pedals which I'll be replacing for Shimano when they are due for rebuilds if I am unable to procure the old version of the rebuild kits.

      Hello and thanks for your question. Only 11 Series pedals (Eggbeater 11, Candy 11, Mallet 11) come with the needle bearing cartridge instead of the Igus bearing used on the other models. However, non 11 Series pedals can be retrofitted with the needle bearing cartridge in place of the Igus bearing. The needle bearing cartridge is purchasable through the 11 Series Refresh Kit (int.crankbrothers.com/collections/pedal-accessories/products/pedal-refresh-kit-eggbeater-11-candy-11).

      Hello and thanks for your question. A parts orientation image for the universal head used on our pumps can still be found in the Support Documents section of our website; pump heads are the most common component of a pump that are in need of regular maintenance. Any further technical information regarding the pump body can be discussed with one of the technicians in our service center (949-464-9916).

    Can you switch longer spindle to non LS model?

    • @crankbrothers
      @crankbrothers  Рік тому

      Yes! The internals are exactly the same - you can swap from 52mm spindle to 57mm spindle and vice versa.

    I will never buy another pair of crank brothers pedals. Absolutely no need for a rebuild to be as difficult as it is and require so many tools.
