along with video journalist Mahira Khan took the new Jimny to Chakrata in northern Uttarakhand. This small hill-station town is more famous as the main base and training centre for India’s Mountain Special Forces but also offers spectacular views. Located off the road to Yamnotri, Chakrata offers a lot, great views of the mountains, amazing waterfalls and spectacular sunsets. And along the way, we also discovered some amazing history with a two thousand year old Asokan edict carving at Kalsi gate, the town where the Yamuna enters the plains.

There is no off road in travelling from Delhi to Chakrata. Road is as smooth as butter. Better to explore area around sahastradhara and Maldevta where you can find lot of off road trails. ANY car on planet earth can go upto Tiger Falls.
