    Welcome to my channel. Today I'll show you how to make a galaxy tumbler from start to finish, and I'll also give a short run down of (Art Resin's) epoxy resin. It's not a cheap resin, but so far it's the only one that I've been happy with for this kind of application.

      Thank you for your kind words Lisa. Back when I was looking for info on making resin tumblers, I found a lot of videos didn’t explain the steps in detail, which made it confusing and very frustrating when trying it out for myself. It’s good to get straight to the point and not waste people’s time. Thanks again Lisa, I really appreciate it 😊

      @PurchaseReviews Well, I thoroughly appreciate you. See, it's fine that there are a lot of different ways to make stainless steel tumblers with resin, but it's nearly impossible to keep track of the order of the many steps it takes to get to where you want to end up. Most videos pick up in the middle of the process, or they leave something out, for example, how long to let your tumbler dry between paint, or resin, or sealer coats. Or when to sand and what to sand. I usually fail a test of time, I often rush my projects, and it never ends well. But other times it's not me rushing things that leads to failure, it's confusion about what to do and when to do it. THANK YOU INFINITY!!!

    • @PurchaseReviews
      @PurchaseReviews  Рік тому

      Thanks for your comment Nileena. Yes, sanding is an important step cause it helps create a rough surface. Painted metal which hasn’t been sanded will be more prone to peeling and flaking. It’s a very fine grit sandpaper that creates an optimal surface for paint adhesion 😀

    Loved your channel. You described it so nicely step by step. Have you ever taken for example a plain white dinner plate with a raise edge. Then decorate the inside of it. Next applied resin to it. How would you cover it with the resin? I don’t know if you can with the outer edge raised up. I want to cover the whole dish with resin.Thanks in advance for your help.

    • @PurchaseReviews
      @PurchaseReviews  Рік тому +1

      G’day, thanks Karen. That sounds like an interesting idea. You would have to come up with something to stop the un-cured resin falling back into the middle of the plate. Maybe it could be done by laying a smaller secondary plate on top, and sealing it with silicone, and then pour in the resin. Once cured, then cut around the silicone with a sharp knife and remove the smaller secondary plate 🤔 maybe that would work.

    • @PurchaseReviews
      @PurchaseReviews  Рік тому +1

      G'day John. Thank you for your service. Once the tumblers are epoxied they cant go into the dishwasher, or be exposed to high temperatures eg.. inside a car on a hot day.. They can only be hand-washed. Saying that though, the epoxy on tumblers are still very durable. It's a great hobby, but I find candle making better for profits. I hope that info helps. Thanks again John.

    • @PurchaseReviews
      @PurchaseReviews  Рік тому

      Hi Stacee, you can, although it’s not necessary. If you use larger granule glitter then you’ll need a few coats on top before it smooths out. I’m only using very fine glitter, so that I don’t have to do anymore than two coats. Hope this helps.

    How long do you wait in between coats?

    • @PurchaseReviews
      @PurchaseReviews  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Lisa, I normally wait up to 4 hours before I put the next coat on. When applying the second coat you may want to heat up the resin in your cup slightly with a hairdryer, so it’s easier to apply. It should just glide on when applying. Drying times for the main tumbler can vary depending on the weather, but I’ve found 3-4 hours to be a safe time to apply the next coat. Hope that helps, ask any questions any time, I’m happy to help.
