This series goes to show even scottish folk (me) dont know what we miss. heard of the NC500 but never ever imagined it to be that beautiful. I think the weather on this trip just makes it all the more scottish. The more bends you went round felt myself tilting with you. Magic ride , added to my list of must do's
Just finished watching this trilogy and found it thoroughly enjoyable. I particularly loved the running commentary, you do a not too bad scottish accent, being a scotsman I've been all over this beautiful land and it's always nice to see it from someone else's perspective. There are many b and b's along the nc500 that are much cheaper than hotels although booking in advance is essential if you're on a budget. I have to agree the west coast is my favourite as well particularly glencoe. I had a little chuckle to myself when you mentioned about the little house at altnafeadh at the head of glencoe when you said you wouldn't live there where would you get a curry. Well i wouldn't either that's the house that belong to the infamous jimmy saville! Anyway thankyou for showcasing scotland in all it's glory even when the weather wasn't the best, it's not always like that, I'm now going to watch your hebridean adventure.
After emerging from the mists of bringing up kids, and reliving my m/bike days again, this series was perfect! Cheers mate, one GS to be bought in the very near future AND following your route.
Great series. Loved the lot of 'em. What a treat to live vicariously through you. Some day I hope to make it to the UK for a visit. Thanks for sharing!
Indeed. In another life, I was Parts & Accessories manager at a Toronto Kawasaki dealer. Thirty years later, it still remains my most enjoyable job. So, yeah. A solution must be found.
Thank you for all your efforts. I greatly enjoy your clips, find them both informative and enjoyable. I hope you enjoy making them as much as we enjoy watching. Again many thanks.
Great series with superb narration. Loved the ' not sure what the Michelin man is riding' quote, made me laugh! Sir, you are a natural presenter and I look forward to your TV series. All the best.
Brilliant,I did same trip across Scotland, not ones. I really enjoy watching this video, its brings my memory back, when I was living there over 10 Years.Thank you.Vaclav Macek,Zlín
So much fun coming along for the ride .. Thanks so much for sharing these wonderful roads with us all .. You have to come to New England for some riding ,.. All the best and thanks again .. Guy
Inspired by your recent trip, did my own this last week up to Scotland. Had perfect weather and thoroughly enjoyed it. What a beautiful part of the world with stunning scenery and top roads to go with it. Thanks for the videos, keep up the good work.
What an adventure you have undertaken with brilliant camera footage and commentary. Some of the scenery was just breathtaking especially through the Cairngorms and those roads just look as inviting for a bike as they would a car. Many thanks for these videos and I am sure you have given lots of your followers and new followers food for thought to completing the NC500 or the MCN 767 or even just apart of it.
Epic trip. Recently rode that road out of Braemar, really good. Nice sweeping bits followed by rollercoaster dips and blind summits. Brilliant series of vids.
The Cockbridge to Tomintoul road features daily on our bbc radio Scotland travel reports in the cold months! Thank you for all the effort that's gone into this series. All the best, Scott
Loved it, thanks so much, as an Aussie who hasn't been to my ancestral homelands your tours have been fantastic, I've now feel as if I've been to Scotland, both coasts, and had a fantastic tour of Wales...next I'm of to Spain.... Great stuff, thank you, wish I still had my old Ducati '74 860 GTE.. what a corner hugger it was....
Wow, just watched all 6 episodes, one of the best most informative tour series iv'e ever watched. Almost feel like I don't need to do it myself now it was that good. Just got back from 2 weeks touring Portugal and think a week up in Scotland would be good in September, some very useful tips, especially regarding the daily mileages, you really earned your supper and a few pints on a couple of them days
I've watched your NC500 series of videos many times now and it has inspired me to do the trip on my GS. This is my 70th year so I'm trying to work through my bucket list. Off to Scotland in June. Thanks for a great series of videos.
Enjoyed the videos thanks. I did the route a few years ago with a mate on our LML scooters. They only have a 5L tank so range is about 110 miles, no problems with fuel as carried a 1L bottle, but didn't need it. We also did the isle of Skye and Arron too, so your westcoast videos also brought back memories 👍👍 Good work
Brilliant, watched all the episodes and thoroughly enjoyed them, well done Missendenflyer for a very well edited and informative video. Now even more excitedly looking forward to my Scottish trip at the end of the month on my F800r.
TheMissendenFlyer yes I have, all of them. My reply was supposed to be for the new videos which as I said are great, thank you. For some reason I didn't notice that it had flicked on to another vid of yours, then I realised that some of the other replies were over a year old, silly me. Keep up the good work, regards Bryan.
These videos are the very best of what UA-cam has to offer. I grew up in Aberdeen so have spent time around some of these roads and areas - since leaving Scotland, I have lived in San Diego for 23 years now but really would like to move back to the U.K. If and when I ever do, a motorbike tour or Scotland would have to be on the cards. There also did not seem to be speed cameras or the like, making for the occasional 'blast'. Thanks for the videos from a homesick Brit!
TheMissendenFlyer Why do I want to move back? I miss woodland, forests, open fields, old historic homes with character, naturally green countryside, hedgerows, proper weather with four discernible seasons, good road surfaces (terrible here) etc etc. Oh - and Bovril (it's now illegal in the USA...). Anyway, until such time as I can come back home, I shall love vicariously through your wonderful videos!
Thanks for the videos TMF, Scotland is beautiful. I really enjoyed them, not long now til my trip. 1st September is looming and I can't wait.I'm looking forward to your up and coming trips and really appreciate the time you take to share your adventures.Regards.Mike
Thanks Robin, sounds like you’ve a lot of catching up to do! Better crack on because in January I’ll upload my 10 part Slovenia tour and that’ll be followed by my mega tour in Thailand!! Lots to come....thanks for watching!
Great tour of Scotland I done the same and to watch your take on it was like I was back doin it thanks for that and all your videos is great watch them all the time keep them coming
Today I grabbed a good glass of single malt Scottish whisky, sat in my sofa and watched all 6 episodes of your Scotland vids. I really enjoyed it. So much I’m thinking about visiting Scotland next year 😉. Keep up the goid work and see in the UK someday!
Oh yeah, I'm watching it for sure! I must say though, despite having seen only 3 episodes of Western Isles so far, I do like the North Coast 500 tour more. A lot more! That part of Scotland is simply spectacular, breathtaking expanses of sheer ruggedness, inhospitable remoteness, beautiful glens and epic mountains. Is there anything that beats that? And since I like the cold and the wind, I think I might've been born in the wrong country. I think I might be a Scotsman at heart! :) I probably would've set up a tent there in the middle of nowhere for an entire day just soaking in the power of that place! haha
I've really enjoyed this series of videos, thank you for taking the time to share and upload them. It's certainly encouraged me to think about something similar very soon!
Brilliant stuff, very skillfully done, many thanks from an east coast scottish person, Dundee based who misses the great outdoors on my doorstep ( March2021), you have helped me to re think my future and planning of further journeys exploring Scotland on my doorstep. Also to check out detials of getting a bike and licence etc. many thanks.
Top marks for this series. I've just completed virtually the same trip can't wait to go back. The roads in the Cairngorms for me are some of the best in the UK.
Doing this trip on 22nd of this month so been watching this with interest, 500 miles up to Inverness on day one, three days doing NC500 in a clockwise direction, then a 500 miler ride home on day 5. appreciate you documenting this TMF, I can't blooming wait 😉
Really helpful MF and enjoyed the tour. I am heading along the same route a week on Tuesday and my appetite has been well and truly wetted so thank you.
I am beginning to really like your videos of touring Scotland. On the GS, identical to yours, I have done the south west corner of the US last year- San Diego, this year the south east - Key West and The North East - Lubec, ME on my new 2017 GS Adventure all from my Home in Atlanta. After concluding with the 4th corner next year and the bonus tour to Alaska, new endeavors need to be in sight. I might very well start with Scotland thanks to your beautiful amazing videos. Keep on feeding my wanderlust
Nice one - I've been there (Georgia) would you believe? ...once flew a Cessna over the Blue Ridge mountains out of Atlanta...(well Cobb Co McCullom)....
Just watched this series again, as I am off to the NC500 next month. I was already excited about the tour, but this has taken it up a notch or two.. Great vids, as always, TMF.
Feel like I'm repeating myself but it's worth saying: great tour, really scenic, thank you very much for filming it and sharing with us, I really enjoyed watching it from beginning to the end :) Cheers!
I'd say the best stretch yet, great roads! Really enjoyed the series of vids, insightful and enjoyable. Now 100% confident I'll head off on an adventure in Scotland. Keep em coming TMF!
Enjoying all the videos you put out especially these ones of Scotland. Very well done. Planning to do this trip early May this year from Ireland. Keep up the good work.
Cheers TMF a great series of vlogs, and thanks for the useful tips at the end, I'm planning on heading up to John o groats in the next few months on the RT , can't wait. Looking forward to your next vlogs, highlight of the week.
Excellent series MF, enjoyed every one, thank you. I was there around the same time as you, may even have seen you and not realised, excellent riding and beautiful, stark, brooding landscapes. I'll be back!
I've just watched this series and it brought back fond memories of my trip to Scotland last year. A great way to idle away some time whilst in lockdown and I'm already thinking of touring Scotland again when this Covid 19 is finally behind us. Thx for sharing.
Really enjoyed watching all those vids you put together on this trip. Fantastic👍 Done the route many a times both on classic scooter and my BMW bike. Will be doing it again soon on my T100 👌
Just completed the 767 on my duke 390 (starting from my hometown in Glasgow) - absolutely amazing, must say this series did inspire me to do it. Thank you for uploading :-)
TheMissendenFlyer Only slightly better I'd say - only caught in the rain when leaving the Cairngorms - rare to get 3 good days in a row in Scotland! Can't wait to return to the west coast again, something special for sure.
I have posted a short clip with my trip if you are interested. Totally agree with your comments and tips at the end - so glad I did not camp and AirBnB'ed it instead. NC500 is good, but there are so many cracking roads to West of Scotland and the traffic drops right off - Argyll, Isle of Bute, Oban etc so good.
Agreed on that one, can't remember the name of the road but the one leading to cock bridge is full of beautiful sweeping bends, definitely an enjoyable one! I just clicked play and the 1st thing I heard "heading towards cock bridge" DOH hahaha!
Excellent video, I never get tired of riding on those roads, I've done them a few times now. I generally go in April or September when the traffic is lighter. Keep up the good work.
Really enjoyed your Scotland tour , watching from here in Peru I really wish you could do a tour out here !! The roads and scenery are amazing , and as I travel everywhere on the triumph here we regularly pass over the Andes at 4;600 meters above sea level . Your narrating is great , carry on the good work . And if you ever fancy doing a test ride on a ten year old tiger 955i , it's waiting for you .
Nice ending to a great tour. Enjoyed your Scotland trip as a series. I love your bike reviews and helpful info videos as well, but this just made a laid-back change.
Great stuff, shown the wife the series and managed to convince her to do a similar trip next summer up there on our Triumph America. What's been good to note is that for me I think we will not worry about the east coast and John O'Groats and focus on the west side. It will allow us to spend more time in those areas, shorter riding days etc etc.
As I've said previously, thoroughly enjoyed this tour and inspiring seeing as you've done this on your own great stuff. I like your relaxed commentary style makes for easy viewing! - I must go up to Scotland again (last time on a VFR800), but would love to try the North Coast 500 on my newly acquired FJR1300 - Cheers!
Thanks for the excellent series of travel videos on your travels through my native country. Embarrassed to say I haven't done the 500 route yet as a full adventure run, but have been on many of the roads you covered. Honestly mate thanks for sharing, thoroughly enjoyed them all and keep up the good work. 👍👍👍
Great final episode! Enjoyed watching all of them, my dad and I have just come back from a mini tour of the Scottish boarders, in part, encouraged by your vids!! Nice one!
Scotland is awesome I did the NC 500 on my 250 l slow going but plenty of time to soak it all in .Going on the tracer with the wife this time can't wait till on next week love the vids cheers
So nice to roll into your home at the end of a long ride! You assess everything, then give some very good recommendations. Always, always quality content. Thank you very much! (UA-cam has a "good bit o' kit" by hosting these videos from TheMissendenFlyer.)
Really enjoyed the whole series pal, thank you for sharing. Great to see another fellow biker and you - tuber uploading brilliant videos. Cheers and safe riding. Series has been a great help in planning this next year. Need to get the Spanish trip over and done first.
This series goes to show even scottish folk (me) dont know what we miss. heard of the NC500 but never ever imagined it to be that beautiful. I think the weather on this trip just makes it all the more scottish. The more bends you went round felt myself tilting with you. Magic ride , added to my list of must do's
Another series in the bag. I really like these U.K. tours, absolutely brill.
Great series, really enjoyed these. Awesome video with great narration. Looking forward to more, thank you :)
Cheers Chris - lots more tours coming soon (editing them as we speak!)
Just finished watching this trilogy and found it thoroughly enjoyable. You're going to love it David - welcome back to biking!
TheMissendenFlyer
Triple Black? Worth the extra £££'s??
How much extra?
TheMissendenFlyer
You are taking 2k from the standard GS ...
Great series. Loved the lot of 'em. What a treat to live vicariously through you. Some day I hope to make it to the UK for a visit. Thanks for sharing!
You're very welcome Trane - where are you based then?
Originally from Ontario, Canada, I've been in Tokyo since 1991. I haven't ridden since coming to Japan. Driving me crazy.
You've got to put that right!
Indeed. In another life, I was Parts & Accessories manager at a Toronto Kawasaki dealer. Thirty years later, it still remains my most enjoyable job. So, yeah. A solution must be found.
Beautiful country. Big GS just love's the road. Once again, thanks for sharing the beauty of Scotland, wish we had that type of scenery in Texas. LOL
But you’ve got the sunshine and good steaks!
Thank you for all your efforts. I greatly enjoy your clips, find them both informative and enjoyable. I hope you enjoy making them as much as we enjoy watching. Again many thanks.
+Cyndee And Steve Linde Thank you very much - and yes, I love making these, whilst people keep watching I'll keep making them!
Wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing this. I plan to watch this series again at least once a year.
You are a man of impeccable taste!! :0)
Great stuff & thanks for putting this out there! Appreciate it👍🏼

Yes, definitely on the list....
I've watched your NC500 series of videos many times now and it has inspired me to do the trip on my GS. This is my 70th year so I'm trying to work through my bucket list. Off to Scotland in June. Thanks for a great series of videos.
You'll love it Dave, best of luck!
Enjoyed the videos thanks. I did the route a few years ago with a mate on our LML scooters. They only have a 5L tank so range is about 110 miles, no problems with fuel as carried a 1L bottle, but didn't need it. We also did the isle of Skye and Arron too, so your westcoast videos also brought back memories 👍👍 Good work
A great video, I have seen them all. Thanks for that
Thanks for watching and for stopping by! All the best - TMF
Brilliant, watched all the episodes and thoroughly enjoyed them, well done Missendenflyer for a very well edited and informative video. Now even more excitedly looking forward to my Scottish trip at the end of the month on my F800r.
Have you started to watch my latest Scotland tour series? ua-cam.com/video/MfOffZhF3Wg/v-deo.html
Thanks for taking the rest of us along! Great trip, and I liked your summary and touring tips.
Thanks for coming with me Ben - gave Billy no mates someone to talk to!
Ha! That's a great point!
Wow I'd love to move to San Diego! Out of interest what is it that you miss that would make you come back???
TheMissendenFlyer Why do I want to move back? I miss woodland, forests, open fields, old historic homes with character, naturally green countryside, hedgerows, proper weather with four discernible seasons, good road surfaces (terrible here) etc etc. Oh - and Bovril (it's now illegal in the USA...). Anyway, until such time as I can come back home, I shall love vicariously through your wonderful videos!
Brilliant series! Touring Scotland is on my bucket list and you just reaffirmed why.
Cheers Rob!

I've really enjoyed this series of videos, thank you for taking the time to share and upload them. It's certainly encouraged me to think about something similar very soon!
It would be rude not too! Go for it, you'll love it...

Glad you enjoyed it - Scotland is beautiful and best explored by motorcycle!
Top marks for this series. I've just completed virtually the same trip can't wait to go back. The roads in the Cairngorms for me are some of the best in the UK.
+john greenaway Thank you John - I agree!

Yep, much the same as my timetable, except the ride up and down was 400 miles not 500....big days on the bike but you'll love it - enjoy! - TMF
Really helpful MF and enjoyed the tour. I am heading along the same route a week on Tuesday and my appetite has been well and truly wetted so thank you.

...I don't always take my own advice ;0) Thanks for the kind words - TMF
Feel like I'm repeating myself but it's worth saying: great tour, really scenic, thank you very much for filming it and sharing with us, I really enjoyed watching it from beginning to the end :) Cheers!

Brilliant film and trip, really enjoyed it. Inspired to get into touring. Having training for my test haven't ridden for 40 years! Thanks.
Great stuff Alisdair - best of luck with your test - let me know how you get on....exciting stuff!
Really enjoyed all you bike tests and trips. Thanks will do!
Excellent series MF, enjoyed every one, thank you. I was there around the same time as you, may even have seen you and not realised, excellent riding and beautiful, stark, brooding landscapes. I'll be back!
Nice one Nigel - me too for sure...all the best - TMF
I've just watched this series and it brought back fond memories of my trip to Scotland last year.
A great way to idle away some time whilst in lockdown and I'm already thinking of touring Scotland again when this Covid 19 is finally behind us.
Thx for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Really enjoyed this series, thanks for posting.
You're welcome Tim, thanks for watching...
Really enjoyed watching all those vids you put together on this trip. Fantastic👍
Done the route many a times both on classic scooter and my BMW bike. Will be doing it again soon on my T100 👌
Yes it's about time i did it again too.....
Highly enjoyed your series. + great bike !!
Cheers Larry....many more on the channel!
Damnit, I laughed way too hard when you said "they're not called the fifth, sixth, and seventh" - well done.
Loving these vids really well edited and put together. Brilliant footage loving it!!!
👍👍👍👍👍👍😁
Cheers Mark...
@@TheMissendenFlyer seriously good . Watching your west coast scott trip now👌👌👌
enjoyed series excellent videos and great narration thanks Bill
Cheers Bill - more tours to come - stay tuned!
Just finished the series - thank you so much - one day perhaps for me - but very much appreciate the vlog.
Glad you liked it.....
Just completed the 767 on my duke 390 (starting from my hometown in Glasgow) - absolutely amazing, must say this series did inspire me to do it. Thank you for uploading :-)
Great stuff - I trust your weather was a little better than mine?
TheMissendenFlyer Only slightly better I'd say - only caught in the rain when leaving the Cairngorms - rare to get 3 good days in a row in Scotland! Can't wait to return to the west coast again, something special for sure.
Next time try the A86 from Kingussie to Spean Bridge - great road.
Willco....cheers - TMF
I have posted a short clip with my trip if you are interested. Totally agree with your comments and tips at the end - so glad I did not camp and AirBnB'ed it instead. NC500 is good, but there are so many cracking roads to West of Scotland and the traffic drops right off - Argyll, Isle of Bute, Oban etc so good.
Agreed on that one, can't remember the name of the road but the one leading to cock bridge is full of beautiful sweeping bends, definitely an enjoyable one! I just clicked play and the 1st thing I heard "heading towards cock bridge" DOH hahaha!
Yea A86's a belter, it's got everything. Only problem is it takes you to the A9, which is the only road to be avoided.
why avoid the A9?
Enjoyed all the vids, nice to hear your appreciation of our wonderful scenery & roads. Just one wee niggle - we don't have any valleys or lakes...
Sorry Roger, I was an English man abroad after all! :0) I'll be back soon though and be checking out all ye lochs and glens!
Great stuff, once again! That 2nd vintage motorcar appeared to be a 1960 Austin Healy 3000, known as the 'First of the Last".
Yes I did know that (honest) - gawd knows why I called it a Sprite, slip of the tongue....beautiful car.
Excellent video, I never get tired of riding on those roads, I've done them a few times now. I generally go in April or September when the traffic is lighter. Keep up the good work.
Cheers Triumph Rascal, it is a bit of a bikers paradise up there isn't it...
Thanks David, very kind of you - I'd love to tour Peru....never say never, keep that Tiger ready for me!
TheMissendenFlyer You more than welcome anytime , now that would be a video I would love too watch .
Nice ending to a great tour. Enjoyed your Scotland trip as a series. I love your bike reviews and helpful info videos as well, but this just made a laid-back change.
More to come (as this one seems to have been quite well received)....
Looking forward to it.
Nice one Paul well done on that!! ...and yes, just touring the West would be magnificent enough! ....although those Cairngorms roads are fabulous...
Really enjoyed this series TMF.......thanks for the uploads.
+jimmyjoe119 You're very welcome :0)
Just watched the series for a second time, as we’re off to do similar in a couple of weeks. Very informative, thanks very much 👍👌
Enjoy! Hope the weather holds for you!
+Steve Walton Thank you Steve - the big Yamaha would be perfect for the NC500, go for it!
+Alex Faulds Thank you Alex - it's a great route, I think the Scottish Tourist Board are on to a winner with the whole Nc500 thing - cheers - TMF
Great final episode! Enjoyed watching all of them, my dad and I have just come back from a mini tour of the Scottish boarders, in part, encouraged by your vids!! Nice one!
Great stuff - thanks Paul....
Great video, such beautiful scenery
Thank you!
fantastic trip I'm sad it's finished many thanks tony
Me too! :0) Thanks for watching - stay tuned for more trips soon!
Good to revisit the tour I did last year without getting wet! My impression of Scotland, as fantastic as Greece but without ouzo.
...and with Whisky...
I snickered. lol. Love it, great series. Thanks for sharing!!! Been great lunchtime entertainment for me here at work.
Well done. Bit tough at times. GS seems perfect. I'm aiming to do a weekend tour in Montana, hotels are looking expensive though.
Camping it its!

To echo Uday, thank you thank you thank you for no music but that of the engine!
Thanks for posting that, great series! Heading up to glencoe and Glenfinnan next month.. Cant wait!
So nice to roll into your home at the end of a long ride! You assess everything, then give some very good recommendations. Always, always quality content. Thank you very much! (UA-cam has a "good bit o' kit" by hosting these videos from TheMissendenFlyer.)
Thank you Aimee - appreciate the kind words!
Really enjoyed the whole series pal, thank you for sharing. Great to see another fellow biker and you - tuber uploading brilliant videos. Cheers and safe riding. Series has been a great help in planning this next year. Need to get the Spanish trip over and done first.
Nice one Paul - I'm yet to ride in Spain but it's bright on my radar....enjoy (and thanks for the kind words) - TMF
Cracking Series. Roll on next summer.
Nice "little" tour, thoroughly enjoyed it, looking forward to when you do the Islands.
Thanks Mark - stay tuned!
