This explains why it's been 4 months since your last cover. 😉 I'm always amazed with how clean and accurate your playing is.
Thank you! It's funny you should say that, because this cover only took 3-4 hours to record, I know it by heart. The long break is because I've re-wired and re-powered my studio room which took ages to complete :-)
It's honestly a record he can get those out in 4 months.
@@ClassicSoloSpotlightHow did you learn the song? Awesome playing btw, truly inspiring
@@noflyzone1608when I learned it years ago I simply listened to the song obsessively until I eventually memorized it. Then found tabs and went to town. Was easier that way. I mean the song was hard but you know what I mean
@@KingGrio even the best cannot learn this in 4 months, for what i see here the guy plays this since a long time and had perfected this masterpiece over the years, this version is better than the loomis one, and it quite a statement to achieve what the guy had done here, RESPECT
I discovered about Becker last night. All I can say is: we are blessed. Let's not take life for granted.
All of Jason's stuff is difficult, but this one is bonkers. So frantic and yet totally musical. I never really how crazy some of his lines were.
Thank you sir
Wow. Incredible. Bravo.
I have been playing over 40 years and just playing air guitar to this track wears my fingers out! Peter you truly have a Gift!
Dom, it's all about warmups and a steady stream of caffeine!
Still cant believe you dont have at least 100k subs. Amazing play
Give it time!
I finally hear Jason Becker's music playing, the level is sky high, but hearing it is a dream, thank you !
This stuff makes my head spin... Your skills are colossal Man... And Jason Becker is a Guitar God.... 👍🙂
Immense technique, been watching you since that "kill the king" cover, you deserve a lot more recognition.
Incredible!
Thank you!
Absolutely brilliant playing on this complex masterpiece by Jason...BRAVO!!!
Simply put...Holy Crap! And I had no idea Jason Becker was that good. Dang.
Simply mind blowing ….imagine how many hundred hours you had spend to perfect this solos note by note. Jason Becker should watch this. The best cover I ever heard. ❤❤❤❤👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This, is incredible. My hair is blasted backWARDS! How in gods name is this possible to replicate so good. Wow. I cannot even play this on my airguitar
Those air guitars can be tricky though
Excelent. I listened to this record for the first time back in 2005 when I was 14. It is my favorite guitar record ever. Thanks for this wonderful cover. Jason deserves all of the recognition of the world.
You are very welcome.
Wow😮....
I slowly put my guitar down watching this.
Just insane talent. Jesus Christ.
Peter, I must inform you that I had a strong urge to defenestrate my guitars (from the 2nd floor) after watching your amazing renditions of Yngwie's music....the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back, being "Little Savage". After watching this latest video (Becker's "Perpetual Burn"), I have instead decided to set them on fire, unceremoniously and with extreme prejudice.
My gosh that was amazing. Keep up the great work, and thanks for sharing.
If you ever feel like working out and filming Yngwie's extended Kree Nakoorie guitar solo, from the Metallic Live '84 concert, I will be more than happy to purchase another guitar to become disgusted with -- I most likely will launch that one directly into the center of the Sun.
No defenestration, please. Think about the innocent passers by outside. Please consider the Tufnel option and go for a coffee table instead.
Japan '84 ... that early pre-hs3 tone is outstanding. Food of the gods.
Best cover of this song I've seen yet.
completley insane
Stunning!
Thank you!
Think this is one of if not the most difficult piece of music to play on guitar, and you absolutely nailed it my friend, well done
2:00 - 2:18 just amazing😱
Just discovered your channel. Your technique is incredible!
Jesus man, you ok? Gorgeous playing there! F'ing well done - one of the most difficult songs in guitar history and youve aced it.

Nice job Pete. outstanding!
Thank you sir!
Flawless victory
Holy shit that was smooth. Amazing
Growing up & naive dual humbuckers and Jackson guitars have always been my favorite but strats/single coils have won me over since so now I own a hss Jackson🤘
hss is great
100% perfect !!!!
Far from perfect, but still very good.
WOW!
I love you Jason
best version
I could construct some nice praise but man.. you skills are absolute fucking insane. i'm no slouch on the 6 Strings, but you sir, kick ass on another level.
Fantastiskt! Att ens våga ge sig på detta stycke kräver mod och talang. Grymt bra spelat. Jag är född 1970 och har fortfarande kvar Perpetual Burn LP-skivan jag köpte på 80-talet. 😊
Tackar och bockar för denna trevliga kommentar!
That is the best cover ever. 1 note i think u missed - wow
Sweep with bridge 😮
Yes. You should check out the sweeps in "Liar". Bridge+neck doubled together.
awesome cover you've played with this Jason Becker 's masterpiece !!! keep on this great work with Shrapnel covers
Thank you Antoine. I will!
@@ClassicSoloSpotlight maybe YRO the next time !! remember your excellent transcription for this Racer X song

@@ClassicSoloSpotlight don't know if you remember but i wrote you like 20 years ago, to thank you for your amazing transcriptions.
@@andresludmer Yes, I saw your name and it triggered my memory!
@@ClassicSoloSpotlighti learned so much from your amazing work back then. forever grateful! love from Rosario, Argentina
Holy dog shit. This was amazing.
That is an incredible talent and I hope you are making a lot of money from it my friend .
Holy crap dude
Serrana full cover please
The part right at 1:50 where you seamlessly go into the tapping part. Chills man
That part is a b*tch
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
How do you play so cleanly effortlessly
Practice.
Could you share the tabs?? Amazing playing!
Well done!
Which dimarzio’s do you have in there?
Sounds great 👍
Great Cover...............I find some differences in your interpretation (basically the arpeggio finger positions of solo 1 and solo 2) from the transcription you posted in your website .....However, I like this better. You are an inspiration. Do keep it coming. Cheers!!!!
Yes, the old transcription was 20 years ago, some details have indeed been altered. Thanks!
do you ever use transcriptions or do you learn everything by ear?
I work as a transcriber myself and have transcribed this piece several times over the years. However, I don't use transcriptions when playing a cover. I prefer to play by ear and memory. This one I've played since '89 so it's basically in my DNA by now.
Temple of absurd please
Whatever Luthier that dresses your frets does an Incredible job. I just noticed after watching this video many times, they are flawless.
Question : on the 11th/12 fret area above the low E string. Is that wear or natural wood pigment?
Those are real "nicks" in the wood. "Accident" 10 years ago, both my strats have neck marks from it.
Hi Peter, how would you rate the level of difficulty of Jason's playing compared to Yngwie's? Btw, you've done some excellent work on all of the pieces you've covered here on your channel!
Thank you. For some reason Becker was always "easy" for me, I think because his lines usually are very linear and rhythmically straight, it's easier for the brain to handle. Vintage Yngwie phrasing is a lot more free flowing, and as a result more challenging to get right. Yngwie is slightly more complex specialized techniques such as his non-linear picking patterns and b) certain rhythmical nuances such as playing across the bar.
Vintage Yngwie is a bit harder to play because he had a warmer old-school tone, used less distortion, which requires a different touch than a full blast, mid-scoop metal tone like Becker. He on the other hand, requires more control of "modern" tremolo bar techniques such as pull ups (Vai was an admitted influence), faster metal riffing, and atonal chromatic Schoenberg-like 12-tone rows . And of course a few Japanese scales from Friedman. So it all evens out in the end.
I still don't know how this is possible 🤣
deym
Ok.. I always thought that I was the only one feeling Becker’s true intent.. 🧐 It’s Holdsworth time for both of us, me feels… 🥰😍
How long did it take you to transcribe this song by ear?
I did my first written manuscript of this at 14 or 15 I think. Its how I taught myself to write notation.
3:01 - 3:10 @_@
GTFOH. That's impossible. 😂
For you maybe. I figured this out from vinyl when I was 14
@@ClassicSoloSpotlight Yeah whatever. 🤣
just very amazing, jason will be proud on you my frend
