Thank you! It's funny you should say that, because this cover only took 3-4 hours to record, I know it by heart. The long break is because I've re-wired and re-powered my studio room which took ages to complete :-)
@@noflyzone1608when I learned it years ago I simply listened to the song obsessively until I eventually memorized it. Then found tabs and went to town. Was easier that way. I mean the song was hard but you know what I mean
@@KingGrio even the best cannot learn this in 4 months, for what i see here the guy plays this since a long time and had perfected this masterpiece over the years, this version is better than the loomis one, and it quite a statement to achieve what the guy had done here, RESPECT
This, is incredible. My hair is blasted backWARDS! How in gods name is this possible to replicate so good. Wow. I cannot even play this on my airguitar
Excelent. I listened to this record for the first time back in 2005 when I was 14. It is my favorite guitar record ever. Thanks for this wonderful cover. Jason deserves all of the recognition of the world.
Simply mind blowing ….imagine how many hundred hours you had spend to perfect this solos note by note. Jason Becker should watch this. The best cover I ever heard. ❤❤❤❤👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Peter, I must inform you that I had a strong urge to defenestrate my guitars (from the 2nd floor) after watching your amazing renditions of Yngwie's music....the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back, being "Little Savage". After watching this latest video (Becker's "Perpetual Burn"), I have instead decided to set them on fire, unceremoniously and with extreme prejudice. My gosh that was amazing. Keep up the great work, and thanks for sharing. If you ever feel like working out and filming Yngwie's extended Kree Nakoorie guitar solo, from the Metallic Live '84 concert, I will be more than happy to purchase another guitar to become disgusted with -- I most likely will launch that one directly into the center of the Sun.
No defenestration, please. Think about the innocent passers by outside. Please consider the Tufnel option and go for a coffee table instead. Japan '84 ... that early pre-hs3 tone is outstanding. Food of the gods.
AMAZING WORK PETER!!! I used to play with another shredder buddy of mine, down here in Melbourne Australia.. was so much fun.. super challenging.. and relentless. Absolutely🤘 faultless brother! (I found this video because I just watched your Little Savage Malmsteen video). Best, Simon Hosford
with a lot a work i was able to almost play this song till 1.31, and it's a fucking pain in the ass to play, the level of accuraty speed and virtuosity is insane, great job bro
Growing up & naive dual humbuckers and Jackson guitars have always been my favorite but strats/single coils have won me over since so now I own a hss Jackson🤘
I could construct some nice praise but man.. you skills are absolute fucking insane. i'm no slouch on the 6 Strings, but you sir, kick ass on another level.
Great Cover...............I find some differences in your interpretation (basically the arpeggio finger positions of solo 1 and solo 2) from the transcription you posted in your website .....However, I like this better. You are an inspiration. Do keep it coming. Cheers!!!!
Whatever Luthier that dresses your frets does an Incredible job. I just noticed after watching this video many times, they are flawless. Question : on the 11th/12 fret area above the low E string. Is that wear or natural wood pigment?
Fantastiskt! Att ens våga ge sig på detta stycke kräver mod och talang. Grymt bra spelat. Jag är född 1970 och har fortfarande kvar Perpetual Burn LP-skivan jag köpte på 80-talet. 😊
I work as a transcriber myself and have transcribed this piece several times over the years. However, I don't use transcriptions when playing a cover. I prefer to play by ear and memory. This one I've played since '89 so it's basically in my DNA by now.
Hi Peter, how would you rate the level of difficulty of Jason's playing compared to Yngwie's? Btw, you've done some excellent work on all of the pieces you've covered here on your channel!
Thank you. For some reason Becker was always "easy" for me, I think because his lines usually are very linear and rhythmically straight, it's easier for the brain to handle. Vintage Yngwie phrasing is a lot more free flowing, and as a result more challenging to get right. Yngwie is slightly more complex specialized techniques such as his non-linear picking patterns and b) certain rhythmical nuances such as playing across the bar. Vintage Yngwie is a bit harder to play because he had a warmer old-school tone, used less distortion, which requires a different touch than a full blast, mid-scoop metal tone like Becker. He on the other hand, requires more control of "modern" tremolo bar techniques such as pull ups (Vai was an admitted influence), faster metal riffing, and atonal chromatic Schoenberg-like 12-tone rows . And of course a few Japanese scales from Friedman. So it all evens out in the end.
It’s oddly amazing yet soulless. Just sounds like a flurry of well placed notes and amazing runs. But when it’s over I can’t remember any musical theme or harmony.
This explains why it's been 4 months since your last cover. 😉 I'm always amazed with how clean and accurate your playing is.
Thank you! It's funny you should say that, because this cover only took 3-4 hours to record, I know it by heart. The long break is because I've re-wired and re-powered my studio room which took ages to complete :-)
It's honestly a record he can get those out in 4 months.

I discovered about Becker last night. All I can say is: we are blessed. Let's not take life for granted.
I wish I was learning about JB Today. There is so many awesome songs to discover. Lucky you.
Simply put...Holy Crap! And I had no idea Jason Becker was that good. Dang.
All of Jason's stuff is difficult, but this one is bonkers. So frantic and yet totally musical. I never really how crazy some of his lines were.
Thank you sir
Jaon Becker is hands-down my favorite. I love Satch, Marty, Yngwie, Lynch, et al. But this takes the cake my friend. Great Job!
Still cant believe you dont have at least 100k subs. Amazing play

Those are real "nicks" in the wood. "Accident" 10 years ago, both my strats have neck marks from it.
