A lot of people think Prof Lambeau is a villain, but he truly believes that Will can be great and explains that greatness requires focus (notably he has no family). The wife farting story was improvised by the great Robin Williams. The laughter by Damon was genuine and it had the entire film crew laughing. You might notice the camera shaking a bit because the cameraman was trying to keep from cracking up. The director had no choice but to keep the scene in the film. So great.
Both Sean and the professor wanted what’s best for Will. They just went about it in different ways. The professor knew he was nothing compared to Will. He wanted him to see what was out there or would have given him a job. He really didn’t stand to gain anything from will’s genius.

If you love Robin Williams, three films that really exemplify his abilities are "Patch Adams", "What Dreams May Come", and "Dead Poets Society". The one time I was in Boston I went to see where they filmed the park scene, and people had written quotes from the film on the walkway in front of it. It truly was awesome being there and seeing that.
I've never seen someone react to this movie and not get emotional. I think you were too busy analyzing things in your own head rather than listening to what Sean was saying to will. Love this movie and your reaction. While watching this i realized that I've been watching your content for a really long time. I found you before you changed your channel name to Alyska. Congratulation on being relevant for so long. Your content is always top notch.
I really enjoyed your reaction. One of my all time favorite movies. I grew up in Boston so I can relate to some of the growing up issues Will encountered early in his life, and his relationship with his friends. Robin Williams role in the movie is an example of how an actor can carry a scene, he's pure genius. Glad you enjoyed it, looking forward to more of your reviews.
It's fascinating to see how many modern react-ers go into this not knowing that Matt and Ben wrote the script, because I remember so much of the marketing and press for this movie being that story, that these two best friends worked on this script for years while working as up-and-coming actors until they finally had enough pull to get the script in front of the right people. And the writing is so great that it definitely doesn't feel like something thrown together by a couple of actors trying to give themselves starring roles in a movie, so I feel like their Academy Award was so well deserved (and I love their energy during their acceptance speech). Matt also really earned his acting nomination, and Robin truly earned his Oscar with this legit award-winning performance (where he even ad-libbed the last line of the movie).
Another VERY good movie that includes one of those weird friendships of people who are completely different but they went to school together is "Sideways". I bet you would love it.
Good Will Hunting is a powerful film. It was nominated for nine Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Actor, took home Best Original Screenplay for newcomers Damon and Affleck, and Best Supporting Actor for Robin Williams.
I haven’t watched a reaction of yours in a while. Haven’t been reacting to my “type” of media. Real happy to see this, since you’re one of my favorite reactors.
So Matt Damon is currently working with the city of Boston to get a bronze statue of Robin Williams on the exact same bench in the exact same park from this scene to not only honor Robin but for people who do visit and sit on that bench so they can feel like they’re actually talking to Robin.
Although Robin Williams was a great comedian, I actually like his dramatic acting even more. This was probably his best performance. Will is the main character, but Shawn kind of steals the show.
Late, but an important point is that therapy is absolutely NOT good for everyone. It's great for some, good for many, but there are a not insignificant number of people for whom it doesn't matter what combination of therapists, therapeutic techniques, effort put forth or time spent: therapy is not effective or good for anyone anymore than it would be to sit in front of a particular crystal for an hour a day every day. People saying that's just kind of a pet peeve because it's getting to the point that people respond with therapy as a solution to everything and almost have started suggesting treating fractures, lacerations and amputations and stuff with therapy.
you should definitely watch "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" there is a great joke about Good Will Hunting 2 you just have to see to believe. It's mainly because Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are good friends with Kevin Smith another great movie you should watch of there's is "Dogma" one of my top 10 favorite movies you'll love it
Lambeau is not a bad guy in this film. Insensitive and ignorant, yes, but he want's the best for Will too in his own way and i think Shawn understands that which is why he goes out for the drink with him in the end. From Lambeau's perspective this is a guy who is smart enough to have anything he wants, Will's smarts surpass anyone he has ever worked with or will ever work with and he is unable to understand the human side of it.
Great Reaction..... I find it Kool that in this movie, Matt Damon wears a (Shelby) Cobra Jacket, and 18 years later he plays Carrol Shelby in "Ford Vs Ferrari"..... Robin Williams improvised so many lines/dialoge....
Matt Damon and Robin Williams won their only Oscars with this movie, and Ben Affleck won his first of two. Ben Affleck also won another for Argo. Casey Affleck, Ben's brother, won the Best Actor Oscar for Manchester By the Sea, produced by Matt Damon. Minnie Driver was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for this, as well.
I don't understand what Skylar is asking of Will. Marriage? Live together? People dump on Will for not going with her, but he is on probation. He would be breaking the law if he suddenly left the city. A warrant for his arrest would be issued. He should have explained that to Skylar (and the audience). And "What do you want to do with your life?" is the biggest question of all that anyone can ask anyone else. People ask themselves that every day. It is a question that rarely has an answer beyond "I don't know." Kudos to Matt Damon for making Will such a barbed and thorny person to strangers. Audiences can HEAR and AGREE WITH the fact that he is guarded and defensive but his unlikeability hits audiences viscerally, no matter how accurate and honest it is. So for Damon to play Will that way is brave and honest even if it risks the audience's not caring for him. Because the audience can hear that Will is defensive but most people don't want to see that. Skylar pushed for a lot too soon. How long had they known each other before she wants him to prove his love by changing his entire world for her. What happens in California? If she goes to med school, she'll barely have time to breathe. From med school to internship to the point where she has a position as resident, her life will be school, work, sleep. Does SHE know this? Has anyone told her? Has she told Will that for the first few years he'll be number three in her life, after school and work? Or he'll be number three if she plans on actually becoming a doctor? No. And what does Will do while she is as busy as humanly possible for four or five years?
In the dorm room scene, you used the term red flag? That is a cheap, modern social media word from a misandrist. He was going through the most difficult moment of his life to that point, and he didn't lay a finger on her. Compassion for him, maybe? Just didn't like the term red flag in that moment.
No kidding. That ruined the whole reaction for me. Soft with no knowledge of how the real world works. She stopped him from leaving was that a red flag? Nope just him.
Well she looks like a child. No life experience. Besides, people in this generation are doomed, they will never find a lifelong marriage anyway. Their mindsets are too self-absorbed, too short term thinking, too much brainwashed by media and their phones to believe life should be a certain way. They'll be alone at 50 before they realize life wasn't like that
If you're so incapable of getting angry without resorting to physical violence even if it's on an inanimate object, that sounds like the definition of a red flag to me. Whether it's because of his demons or his violent nature doesn't matter, it's still a red flag to a second person.
The right academic degree is worth it. You need them for engineering, medicine, climatology, etc. Or journalism, political science, or creative writing. I think too many people went to school and didn’t have a real idea of what they wanted.
When I went to jail the first time my cellmate was in there are on a manslaughter charge. Killed a guy. Reminds me of growing up my mom was a librarian and she would take to me work when she had too so I hung out with all the librarians and read books with them. I'll admit I go to a therapist and seen a psychiatrist....not ashamed to admit it.

Even though they had both written the screenplay, the studios considered them to be unknowns. Kevin Smith, thankfully, convinced them otherwise. For 27 years I thought it was both Will and his girlfriend (Minnie Driver) in the car in the driving to California. Now I find out it’s just him in the car driving to Cali where she’ll most likely dump him. Also, one thing never was clear to me. This came out in 1997 when pretty much everyone was learning about the internet. So for those problems the math teacher put on the blackboard, anybody could’ve just interneted (no Google at the time) it and put the answer on the blackboard. I think Ben and Matt hadn’t caught up on “what is the internet is” yet.
Internet was still in its infancy, there weren’t sites that could do complicated math problems readily available to the general public. The internet had a lot of limitations back then and not everyone had access to it
@@Jmiranda70 Dude, I was alive back then. The internet was in a full blown capacity. First thing I thought was why didn’t Skargaard think that the janitor got the answer from internet?
Yeah, she doesn’t really relate to will or those types of guys. Being a specific type of girl, a pretty girl who seems like she is for the girl boss revolution, she seemed to miss how this isn’t a love story necessary, it’s a story about dealing with your inner demons or trauma. It seemed like she was willfully glossing over that. I hate to say it. Okay I love to say it. Attractive women reactors almost always have terrible reactions to classic movies. I think they look for certain tropes that they love and don’t always like going outside their comfort zone. Also, is Skylar really that great of a person? I think she’s okay but if we break down what happened in the bar, Chucky is the one who came and tried talking to her yet she went up to will only after he demonstrated about as much value as you can with his intelligence and then saying that they could take it outside. So by the end of him destroying that other guy, Will is operating with the most value in that place. Yet she still expects him to come up to her. And she straight up gives him her phone number. Idk, it feels kinda gross, like the only way to get her number was by doing that crazy display and show her your value. Realize I’m analyzing this scene too much.

Love this movie and your reaction. While watching this i realized that I've been watching your content for a really long time. I found you before you changed your channel name to Alyska. Congratulation on being relevant for so long. Your content is always top notch.
RIP Robin Williams😢
“How do ya like dem apples?” 🍎
The 90s really had the last of the GREAT films, some gems in the early 2000s, but it's about it
So Matt Damon is currently working with the city of Boston to get a bronze statue of Robin Williams on the exact same bench in the exact same park from this scene to not only honor Robin but for people who do visit and sit on that bench so they can feel like they’re actually talking to Robin.
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon became the youngest academy award winners for best original screenplay. A title they still hold to this day.
Beauty in the Simplicity is the homerun in this one Alyska. Happy to hear you say it.
“He’s got nothing holding him here” lol except his probation officer 😂 you can’t just up and leave when you’re on probation.
Although Robin Williams was a great comedian, I actually like his dramatic acting even more. This was probably his best performance. Will is the main character, but Shawn kind of steals the show.
Ronin Williams, Ben Affleck, and Matt Damon were all very terrific in this film. It was a pure classic.
Such an amazing movie. I seen it when it came out and I’m glad that Ben and Matt got an Oscar for this. They deserved it
“How do ya like them apples?”
Classic
Late, but an important point is that therapy is absolutely NOT good for everyone. It's great for some, good for many, but there are a not insignificant number of people for whom it doesn't matter what combination of therapists, therapeutic techniques, effort put forth or time spent: therapy is not effective or good for anyone anymore than it would be to sit in front of a particular crystal for an hour a day every day. People saying that's just kind of a pet peeve because it's getting to the point that people respond with therapy as a solution to everything and almost have started suggesting treating fractures, lacerations and amputations and stuff with therapy.
Thank you!! It’s nice to see someone else who understands this. And I’m saying this as one of those people who therapy doesn’t work for.
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
you should definitely watch "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" there is a great joke about Good Will Hunting 2 you just have to see to believe. It's mainly because Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are good friends with Kevin Smith another great movie you should watch of there's is "Dogma" one of my top 10 favorite movies you'll love it
i personally always assumed that the bit about Will’s “brothers” was about foster brothers
It is a question that rarely has an answer beyond "I don't know."
Kudos to Matt Damon for making Will such a barbed and thorny person to strangers.
No. And what does Will do while she is as busy as humanly possible for four or five years?
oh fuck off... what a load of rabble....
Now you have to react to Good Will Hunting 2: Hunting Season
LMFAO!!! Not many people will get that unless they seen the movie
Such a great beautiful and sad movie. RIP Robin Williams
Another pleasent reaction with Alyska!
Let me know if there are any Films series or Lore dives You want to get into, alright?
This may be my favorite review you have done. Well done.
Seen this one more times than I care to admit. Did help/inspire me back in the day to actually do the engineering thing.
Such a great nostalgic moment for an Xer! Loved it then and now!!!!!!
@@PaavoPesusieni-e3k All these baseless surface assumptions about a stranger online you don't know the first thing about. Wild stuff.
@adamparker43 nah... She is just an airhead
Yes, gen X teenagers were just as violent if not more but with more testosterone. A lot more.
What a phenomenal movie.
One of my favorite movies for sure. Glad you enjoyed it!
So many kids growing up like will did think they did something wrong to get that kind of treatment
This video has some of the worst cuts for this movie.
We all need a friend like Chucky 👍
That's my favorite movie of all time. 10 of 10
Excellent choice. One of my favorites. I must offer a few recommendations (if you haven’t seen them already,) that you will like and should get substantial views…
-Braveheart
-A Few Good Men
-Scott Pilgrim vs the World
-True Romance
-Boondock Saints
-Edge of Tomorrow
-Fight Club
-Tombstone
This was absolutely fantastic and sad movie. RIP Robin Williams we all love you and missed you so much 🙏🕊️❤ He was so incredible and spectacular in this movie!
When i was young anyone saying Christmas was coming up in september would probably get in a fight lol. Thise were the good old days of no fhrostmas stuff before thanksgiving.
Thank you so much Alyska 💖
RIP Robin Williams. Miss you legend ❤️🙏
YES NEW REACTION TIME
So you have to tell me, what's cruel about greyhound racing? I've never heard that before 🤔
Nothing .. those dogs are very well cared for and they get to do what they love doing the most.
@@JPatel1995 Cool, that's what I assumed. Thank you bro... Some people. 🤔
@@gingerbreadman1969 assuming animals in sports are well cared for is a moronic assumption
So happy to see you!!!

I guess he finally finished his burger
You should react to Louis CK talking about this movie and the actor who made it😂
Reading the comments 4 minutes in make me want to stop watching. Haha good luck with your reacting!
After reading these comments I don't think I'm going to watch this movie. Doesn't seem like this girl has the emotional intelligence to appreciate the movie for water is or understand the characters.
my first Casey Affleck movie
Among this type of films, I can also recommend Gifted with Chris Evans. I hope to see your reaction to this film. Best regards
Great reaction to this beautifully performed and written film. Thanks so much for sharing your reaction with us. Without Kevin Smith becoming a producer on the film Good Will Hunting, no studio wanted either Matt Damon nor Ben Affleck in the lead roles. Even though they had both written the screenplay, the studios considered them to be unknowns. Kevin Smith, thankfully, convinced them otherwise. Please watch Clerks.(1994)
Written/Directed/Starring Kevin Smith
@@faisalmemon285sure, you were alive then...😒in completely diff dimension --- because NO. just no!CAP!
Great film! Great choice for a reaction! Thanks for the upload!
The last of us 2 HBO trailer is out
