There won't be any escape. The Warhammer IP is owned by Games Workshop, and lest we forget, they have a current track record of being anti-consumer as hell. Fan-made anything involving the IP gets sniped almost as fast as Nintendo whips out cease and desists against fangames and what they replace them with is sub-par. Which of the lesser evil do you want? You'll have to pick your poison in what you support here. I'll be standing clear of both SM2 and HD2 until something yields. No idea when it will give, but I'll be waiting.
The reason i want to play space marine 2: 1. Campaign 2. Can dodge and run without running out of stamina 3. have parry and gun strikes 4. Have classes 5. have melee weapon
You are lowkey overreacting yes what they did with the new update wasn't great they still added stuff the only real nerf was fire they also buffed other things(more minor yes but even then) @kylepage7491
@@Even_N.D. It's going to be if Arrowhead keeps up their nonsense. Treating the game like it's a e-sport with metas and nerfs instead of focusing on important issues like the excessive ragdolling, performance issues and unbalanced enemies with terrible gameplay mechanics.

Why is everyone comparing Space Marine 2 to HD2? If y’all are expecting the same gameplay loop from SM2 you’ll be disappointed, these two games are not similar. The characters, the enemies, the gameplay, it won’t be a replacement. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t wait to play as Titus again but I’d hate for all these people to be disappointed and shit on a game because they are thinking it will be like Hell divers 2. Maybe go play Space Marine 1 so you have the gist of what the game will be like?
Agreed. I'm looking forward to Space Marine 2 because I had a blast playing the first game. I enjoy Helldivers 2 but it's NOT the same game and never was. I hope people will understand that if they never played Space Marine.
@@curiouspanzer5881 SM1 is what got me interested in the universe, the Astartes in particular and I’ve dabbled ever since. I just hate to see people review bomb a game because they see ultramarines fighting through hordes of Tyranids and are expecting it to be like a game that is fundamentally different. I guess space+hordes of insectoid monsters = HD alternative by that logic lol.
@@Deathcore615I mean people today are inherently dumb and dumb witted. I can't tell you how many times people are like this has the Same execution mechanic that Doom 2016 had .... and I'm like you mean like Space Marine had back 2011. The mechanic hasn't changed.
@@maddogs1989 The executions were always great in Space Marine, they look even more brutal in 2 thanks to the graphical upgrade. It doesn’t seem like critical thinking is an abundance these days unfortunately, either way I hope SM2 gets people into WH40K despite it not being an alternative to HD2
It won't be the death of the Helldivers 2, but it will be a major blow to their playerbase and income, and hopefully the massive wake up call they need. A game only dies when truly nobody is left.
@@vlanson6529 I feel like it'll pull a good chunk of the player base away from Helldivers 2, but by the looks of the comments there are a lot of dedicated divers
@@gregfromcultmeetingswarhammer Is far less appealing to the masses Helldivers was for easier for the average person to get into then the Warhammer verse.
Space Marine 2 is going to be successful without having to rely on the failures of helldivers 2 all signs points toward the right direction so don't worry. I commented on this as a Warhammer 40,000 Fans. There will still be thousands of people playing Helldivers 2 even after Space Marine 2 has been released because it's ultimately completely two different games offering two different experiences to the players.
First one was anything but a dud, and if this is at the very least that game with a new coat of paint it will be good. I feel like the biggest issues with some of the past games is they were always close to being great. Personally I feel like the XCOM style gameplay would work better as a Deathwatch game than say an overhead twin stick shooter they had some years ago. Playing a Grey Knight should be a faster paced power fantasy shooter like Doom. I loved Boltgun, but a single marine pulling all that off by himself feels a tad hard to believe, but I'd believe a Grey Knight could pull all of that off without issue.
@@gregfromcultmeetings evidently, but as you stated in the vid, always commenters happy to point out an error 👍 the older game Rogue Trader often gets conflated with 40k but Warhammer 40k proper was a 1987 release. To this day no acknowledgement or correction. You'll do fine young man 👍
Its not hell divers. Its nothing like hell divers. Its gears of war with god of war melee combat and unlike hell divers the diffcult comes from skill not weapon nerfs and enemy buffs
a big ask for maybe one Marine, a company would be able to do within a few years maybe, the Nids are not to different from the Nids... in both games, though the Tyranids do scale a hell of a lot higher with their hyper intelligence... though they did have more units and bigger units in HD1 for the Terminids. the bots would be similar to Abominable intelligence to them, but they would be more of a threat one Marine would be bodied hard by the firepower the bots can field, but I think a company with supporting assets could be up to the task, if its first company then would be pretty quick for both fronts.
3:29 man sorry but there is to much lore space marines alone have over 100 books but just look up space marine legions lore or a timeline it’s not gonna get all the lore but it will be most
@@TheCanineContrarian That helped a lot, but can't be completely at fault here, the lack of diferent content and the community not liking the decisions being made by the devs also played a significent role
Leutin09 is a good lore channel for all round info on the setting, Theamberking is good for theatrical stories on specific characters, Majorkill for memes. Also to my knowledge theres still active PvP servers/players on Spacemarine 1 after all this time people liked it so much. As long as they don't make it into something dumb or try to ape off other games ideas and keep it as an upgrade to what it was Spacemarine 2 looks like a straight home run on all fronts
not every new thing needs to be "the death" of something else. They can both be good games without needing to have it out like school kids in the halls or something
A random Helldiver wishes he was anything like a Adeptus Astartes/Space Marine. One Space Marine is worth a thousand Helldivers. Normal civilians in the Imperium of Man will throughout their entire lives without even seeing a Space Marine. Space Marines are genetically enhanced super soldiers in power armor. A Helldivers are glorified cannon fodder. Warhammer 40k inspired alot of games like Halo, Gears of War, Starcraft and Helldivers.
Helldivers more resemble the Astra Militarum/Imperial Guard to be honest. Definitely still elites within their ranks, but elite fodder nonetheless. They fight like the guard too, expendable units constantly thrown into the enemy wall until it shatters beneath the bodies of its main forces.
Space marine 2 won't kill helldivers, simply because it can't replicate the experience. The number of coop missions available is vastly limited, compared to the generation in helldivers. The same goes for its equipment, and more. Saying its a hd2 killer is the same asinine behavior behind all the would-be WoW killers, and is based on superstition as opposed to facts. Deep rock Galactic has a great chance, and even it doesn't match the militarism on display in HD2. HD2 is having a balance problem largely, not a gameplay one. It's a good game, hampered by bad balancing. The difference is the balance can always turn around. It hasn't yet but still may.
Not sure how it works in space marines but in Hell diver you can call down supplies/items/weapons that your entire team can use. Find that very helpful giving your other team mates a shield, gun etc etc
@@goasupreme4804 You cant call anything in Spacemarine 1, and definitely not 2. Space marines in 40k go in with what they bring, and rarely do more then resupply or re-equip in safe zones, neither of which are available in the game. There is ammo stations, but that's it. It's really important that when talking about competing games, to actually go look at them with a critical eye and stay off hype wagons of fans, especially any who say X will kill Y, because those people are the first liars and mis representers. I say this as someone who played space marine 1, will play the second, and played HD1 and HD2. I barely had to see the trailer to Space marine 2 to already surmise its features. I saw someone discuss how SM2 would kill darktide. But there is no evidence that SM2 will even have Darktide's barest bone experience, which is a horde hack, slash, shoot game like l4d2. Don't trust would be 'fans'. Trust analysis.
@@WintersFinalstandI mean you can already watch the co-op missions on UA-cam for space marine 2 that look pretty much one for one of darktides missions.
@@dark_winter8238 Aye. But I doubt somehow that itll be the same. Plus the playstyles are visceral but not really the kind of randomized challenge that is darktide. So in the end, darktide remains still unique. SM2 will eventually grow old more quickly then DT.
Helldivers 2 went from causing death and destruction to run around for 40 minutes while doing as little fighting as possible. They wanted to make the game "hard" and all it did was force people to use brain dead methods to get objectives done and the "harder" you make a game the more you force a meta.
This is kind of an overdramatic and not very based take. No matter how you slice it, Helldivers 2 is (and will probably continue to be) a colossal success. The fact that it's a live service game which got the numbers that it did (probably 10x what they were expecting) AND charged $40 to play means Arrowhead is absolutely swimming in cash right now. I don't know why people can't understand that it is the norm for games to lose 90% of their initial player base after a little time. Most will unlock all the stuff they wanted and go play other things with occasional return trips as desired or as content is added. It's not like Arrowhead gets paid by the head per hour of engagement or anything. Hell, because of their monetization model, they're probably saving a boatload of money in server costs while they just keep building. The writing was always on the wall that it's going to be a game with seasons of high and low player interest, which is fine. Acting like Helldivers 2 is going to die just because of a few community snafus or because there's another game where space soldiers shoot at bugs is silly. I'm sure Space Marine 2 is going to be a fantastic game, but, as a massive Helldivers 2 fan, I have no interest in it. I don't know anything about Warhammer, but the game looks like Gears of War mechanically which are games I do not care for. The set of people who would like both probably doesn't have nearly as much overlap as you would assume. I normally don't even like shooters, but Helldivers just nails the tone in a way few things do for me. The fact that Arrowhead got people like me on board in the first place is like a testament to how special and unique what they have really is.
Let’s be real space marine 2 won’t have the same feeling of Helldivers 2. Objectives will be linear story, there’s no on going true war as it’s all campaign, you can’t call down air support or orbital support which is a huge missed opportunity in a warhammer game imo. This game won’t kill Helldivers
@@gregfromcultmeetings I won’t deny that it seems like a great game but it certainly won’t have the same effect Helldivers did. Nor will it sadly be able to achieve that. Helldivers has just so much going on it feels like you’re fighting a real war. Especially with the evolving major orders which is something I can’t see space marine 2 doing
@xecutor3459 SM2 is just going to be a story driven game just like the first one. What's going to bolster the replay ability of it is going to be customization options, the class level up and perk unlocks, the mission based co-op PVE, hoard mode, and the PVP. Hell, the first Space Marine still has an active pvp scene even though it came 12 years ago. I'm not saying that it's better than Helldivers 2 but it certainly does have more going for it
It's gonna be great, and I'm super excited. However, eventually, it's gonna grow stale as sm2 is not intended to be a live service game, whereas hd2, despite whatever it may have going on, will still pump out lots of players on new updates.
People are so fickle. People uninstalled the game and reinstalled within a week of the new update. I’ve had fun on both games, and will not stop playing either!
Depends on how much they monetize Space Marine 2, how much they make off it, and how much more they add to it. Like if they add more enemy factions to the PvE mode and not just Tyranids, then maybe. Personally, I think Darktide only being on PC and XBOX only is more damaging to its playerbase size. If it drops on PS5 I'm jumping in the second it's there.
@@silkyjohnson4208yea it’s poorly optimized too on pc or at least it was on release it’s a super fun fps hoard shooter tho and the latest updates I think are in the right direction
@Rockybukkakke I don't know if you've been back but I feel like it's pretty good now as far as optimization. The game could have been something great. I think the gameplay is good. But everything outside of the gameplay is mid at best
I've played several hours of Space Marines 2, and I can unequivocally say I will miss the open world-ish settings of Helldivers 2. But the nerfs they did on Breaker Incendiary and Flamethrower was the final straw for me. Plus, I am a big fan of 40k lore. So, I am moving on.
Dont forget they got that one dev who did terribly on hello neighbors 2 online and killed it as well! The discord moderaters for the most part isn't looking so hot
As much as I, too, enjoy memeing on Alexus Kravchenko, the "Bringer of Balance" and aforementioned dev who ruined Hello Neighbor 2... at this point, it's not just him. Surely Arrowhead is aware of his reputation at this point. The fact that he's still around just goes to show that Arrowhead is not only aware of the kind of shitty balancing that he does, they outright agree with him and are actively working with him to ruin the game for the sake of """challenging difficulty""". The entire balancing team is in on it.
Bro imagine if we get the concept of helldivers 2 but the setting of 40K, and the helldivers are replaced with space marine, now imagine all the skins, enemy factions, OP weaponry etc we could get, man can only dream...
If I was the Dev for HD I would drop the biggest of biggest update the same day War Hammer 2 come out! I talking about 50 new weapons, city planets, 8 new vehicles, and 3 new enemies to fight!
HD2's biggest blunder was one of the most basic game developer rules: never nerf "overpowered" weapons, buff other weapons and/or create new enemy types to level things out instead. They screwed up by nerfing all of their fun to use "OP" weapons and accessories and vastly increasing the number of enemies and difficulty to the point that the only viable option was to play the game like a running simulator, a boring meta.
Helldivers and Space marines wont be the same at all .. the " COOP " missions of space marine II will be the same mission with few variation similar to game like left for dead Darktide etc.. With variation difficulty ennemy type etc.. made by an Ai director .. Hell divers has some sort of interactive wars going on so unless Space marine II decide to go this route it wont be the same at all SM 2 Operations will be exactly like Dark tide types of PVE contents and they will had missions down the roads but it wont go as fast as hell divers and the game wont be a RTS like with defense building etc.. and so on .. Would be really cool if SM 2 was like Hell divers in PVE operations but i doubt it will
The only similarity is genre - Hordeshooter. Thats it. Every other aspect of the game different. For me personally SM2 looks very clanky. As well as every other shooter that dont have weapon weight mechanic (drag). No mechanic of loosing ammo after reload. Push your fellow with fart of Recoilless Rifle rear? Give me two. I wish SM2 the best but it is absolutely different game. HD2 will not die after release of SM2 no doubt. But AH has last chance to save the game cos even those who defended nerfs are hostile now.
Helldivers 2 captured Lightning in a Bottle, and with it had a literal LICENCE TO PRINT MONEY. But not only did they fumble the bottle and smash it, they insulted us for them doing that and then they blocked 90% of the player base on PC, because of requiring a console account on PC. After that they saw people still managing to have fun (somehow) and proceeded to kick dirt on any little embers of fun they saw, snuffing it out with patch after patch of nerfs to weapons and making everything in the game suck to use... in a PVE GAME. I'm beyond convinced, I'm CERTAIN that Helldivers 2 was a fluke it was so good on launch, and the atmosphere and "I need a Hero" and "Paint it Black" music over epic gameplay moments hard carried the game this long. The magic is all gone, as the devs hate fun, so let them go the way of concord and play their own game alone, without us.
I dont think it's fully the Dev's fault. I think Sony just got it's grubby mits on it and killed it even further than it already was. Not to mention the mas PC limitations as u mentioned. Some comments here still think it's on steam, but I think they forget the US of A isn't the only country in the world lmao
nah I am still playing helldivers, and I will play space marine. I hope the devs change up their behavior. So I keep diving, but I will also be a salamander space marine.
Right now theres 8 missions that follow a story and bosses. Its linked to the campaign as when you play the story you hear about the other squads completing certain objectives. Youre this squad. Hopefully they add more later on and quickly. There lots of upgrades and perks to unlock so thats the replayability.
Okay to break it down for you, Helldivers lore as you said is defending your homeworld from the alien bugs and robots (I didn’t played it although I would love to), meanwhile warhammer 40k lore is more like, the very but very last stand of humanity against the horrors of the galaxy, the emperor is half dead and isn’t really too much of a help, humanity is breaking apart and going against itself all the time, the aliens win against us in terms of ability, technology and power and our only real hope is two super big space marines called Primarchs which hasn’t seen each other yet but we want them to already. That’s pretty much it in a very summarized way.
Because of the direction ArrowHead chose. Many players are fed up of dev's inability to properly support this game. And it will be more if AH will continue ruin HD2.
I am a long time 40k fan, have been hyped for Space Marine 2 and it will probably be my GOTY, and I think it probably will kill Helldivers 2, I don't think its going to replace it. There is a season pass, but I don't think its going to get long term support for its PvE and PvP modes. It could, they could add tones of new armor, weapons, and even classes like Chaplains, Librarians and maybe Terminators and even Dreadnoughts, but I don't think its going to get that. As for you're request on the Lore.....thats a tall order. Even a quick summary would probably be a 45-60 minutes of uninterrupted lore dump just for a cursory rundown of the overall lore, history and races/armies in the setting. I mean Humanity alone has like 5-6 different major important factions, and the Space Marines have over 100 different Space Marine Chapters. All I'm saying is its a lot, and its gonna take a time sink just for the general overview of the Lore and if you like it and want to know more its really gonna become a timesink.
I actually started learning about the lore literally when I was bored of listening to music while working out. So I started putting on audio books/lore channels while getting my best sessions in. That and when I play a no story game and have my second monitor open
Space marine 2 is a power fantasy 3rd person shooter and Helldivers is a strategy third person shooter they’re nothing alike. Oh wow you actually don’t know anything you’re talking about.
I don’t hate Helldivers 2. I truly hope the developers can have a No Mans Sky redemption. There’s a good foundation there that is just fun. It has a pretty perfect gameplay loop that the developers got in the way of. I think they set out to make what they thought would be a relatively niche game and instead became of the fastest selling PS5 games. They weren’t prepared for it and the results are apparent. Space Marine will live and die by its gameplay loop. If they get that down, it is going to take a lot of the attention. But if Helldivers can sort out their growing pains and expand their gameplay and options it can have a long life ahead of itself. And as a gaming fan, I want both of these games to be incredible.
@@DannyMartin3z by all means, nobody hates Helldivers 2, hell I love it to this day. We all just hope the devs see the competition and fix their wrongs
If you wanna get into (at least the easier side of) 40k lore, start with Space Marine 1 and Boltgun. The two games are connected, take place on the same planet, and the latter is influenced by the former, you’ll understand how different playing an Astartes and a Helldiver is. It also isn't too lore-heavy and makes a great starting point.
The difference in the concept of the two games is linked to the lore and what developers want us to feel playing. In HD2 we are just a bah of meat sent to a world to complete a mission, if we fail the next in line will take our place. We are like the Imperial Guard (now called Astra Militarum) of 40k, we are sent in endless waves against the enemy to win thanks to our numbers rather than our equipment. SM2 is focused on the overwhelming power of a Space Marine. We are not part of an army, we are the army... and in the game there are 3 of us... not 4 because as developers said "it would have been impossible to balance according to the lore". Space Marines are not expandable soldiers, they are among the most precious resources of the Imperium, there are medical squads with the only mission to recover fallen SM bodies to get their organs and armor back to create a new SM. SM work in squads of 4 (according to the new lore) and developers reduced the numberbof players to 3 because lorewise the whole campaign should be a walk in the park even now and a fourth member in the squad would totally make it unbalanced. As you said the HD2 concept is cool and makes the game fun but it turns annoying fast especially if developers highlight this aspect too much. HD2 should be a sort of Left 4 Dead or Darktide in an open world with many spawning enemies super easy to take down and some elite encounters to spice the match; players should be able to run across the enemies like a hot knife in the butter and stop just to deal with over the average enemies that will drain more resources and time than expected. The poblem is that developers idea of the game is to just run to the objective complete it and get out of the planet... they don't want players to focus on resourses and secondary objectives, they don't want us to clear the map and the evidence of this is the lack of ways to spend such resourses and money. The game is empty and developers have acted against the players to slow us down as much as possible to hide it but now the balance is completely fucked up even for the main concept of the game and we are not expandable soldiers anymore, we are just meat bags thrown agains the enemy like cluster bombs.
Helldivers 2 and Space Marine 2 are the same game in principle and theme, with only one difference. Mission Structure. In helldivers you are dropped on a open map to complete randomly generated objectives with no restrictions except the map border. These missions tie into a player driven meta narrative but overall have no story. You are free to tackle the objectives anyway you see fit. The only limitations being your number of lives and time limit. In Space Marine you will have a set list of missions to choose from that tie into the narrative of the story along a linier path. Like Vermintide or Left 4 Dead you will play these story missions over and over with the only variation being the enemy composition. Helldivers is open map with very little mission structure. Space Marine is linier with a large amount of narrative.
Also WWZ mechanics mixed with SM1s mechanics which is what this game was based from anyway,Gears of war notched up to 100% with super soldiers of the Imperium.
Ultimately, we few who still enjoy helldivers 2 might be better off without those people who are just around for the hype. Almost every game needs to go through some updates before the scope and balance fit the bill. It's not even been one year the game is out. I don't know what the flamethrower was like before, but picking one up felt satisfying. At the very least I am excited that with time the game might get more and more updates. If they dont come, so be it. I've bought way worse games for the same money that I regret buying. Helldivers is not one of them. It's a lot of fun.
I was there the first week of launch. I played for a solid 3-4 months, and went back yesterday for funzies. I gotta tell ya, the difference is night and day
I don‘t think SM2 will kill HD2, purely because HD2 feels more cinematic and SM2 looks like your average WWZ, L4D2, vermintide game. Being able to call in air support, heavy bombardements, sentries to hold a position feels just better to me. I still might give SM2 a try purely because it has a multiplayer similar to Halo.
THANKS PLAYSTATION FOR LETTING HELLDIVERS 2 DIE YOU OWN THE IP ARROWHEAD CAN ONLY DO SO MUCH IF PLAYSTATION ISNT GONNA PUT ANY MONEY BACK INTO A SOLID PRODUCT THATS SAD
i loved helldivers and still really enjoy it, but the lack of good updates like new stratagems and enemies is insane. Weve been waiting for vehicles almost since launch with them being leaked and some people even getting to try them, and yet they still arnt here and maybe even got scrapped. One thing to note btw is that sm2 and hd2 are not the same price. Hd2 is 40 usd, spm2 base edition is 60 usd
Helldiver's 2 kept overwhelming us by the bugs and machines. But now we shall become the astartes and show the Helldiver's the true honor of a warrior and how we shall slay these beast with blades and bolters! For honor and courage, for maccrage, for ultramar, FOR THE EMPEROR!!
I cannot wait for the game to drop. But my love for Super Earth will never fade. I hope the game comes out with a helldiver skin at least to show my love for both games.😊
If there’s anything positive I can take away from Helldivers 2, it’s that I at least got over 120 hours for $40 USD instead of $60-80 USD and that next time, I should not get a game because of some short form content hype. Once I have the money again, I’ll definitely look into actual gameplay videos to see if Space Marine 2 would be a good purchase since I am already wanting to buy it, though I don’t wanna repeat Helldivers LOL.
I’ve played the leaked build, this game might be a good contender for game of the year for sure, but the target audience for SM2 just isn’t the helldivers community. Don’t buy this game expecting it to replace that.
Yes while the main focus of the advertisement may be the co-op mode, Space Marine 1 was always about the pvp and looking at the season pass structure it seems like they will absolutely start focusing on the pvp mode more post launch
Why are you dogging on space marines 2? Im not saying the game is flawless, but the game rocks. Helldivers and space marines 2 are vastly different games that have no business being compared.
I simply, respectfully, and humbly disagree. While I do not doubt that Space Marines 2 will be a smashing hit within the 40k community and a good sum of outsiders, from what I've gathered about 40k and its world is that it's rather niche (albeit has been growing majorly in popularity for some time) and due to that fact I feel like it would be harder to get into compared to a game like Helldivers 2. While Helldivers 2 does have lore and story, in comparison to SM2, it's really on the back burner. You don't need to know anything about the HD2 universe to enjoy the game, I didn't know anything when I first played. Now, I'm not saying that SM2 will only be enjoyed by the lore lovers but (from what I've seen) it's definitely more geared towards them, which is great might I add. I think SM2 appealing to the community of 40k will do it a GREAT service in the long term and in fostering a dedicated player base. However for people on the outside I can see how it might be a bit difficult to get into. Demographics aside, I also think the core gameplay loop and features are just too different. Speaking only from what I have seen from SM2 gameplay trailers, I think where the similarities start and end between SM2 and HD2 is the hoard shooter and squad system. That's it. Here's a few reasons as to why I think this; - In SM2 you obviously choose your loadout/specialty off rip and there are predetermined roles to play. This is NOT a bad thing at all but it is not like HD2 where you can mix any of the stratagems at any given time. - In SM2 if you die, you die. Unless you get revived you're done until your entire team dies. In HD2 you can die as many times as you want at no cost except for the reinforcement budget which is shared. - Going back to equipment, in SM2 it looks like all you'll have at your disposal is what your character has on them. You don't appear to have call-ins or any additional external equipment at your disposal. - In SM2 you are a SPACE MARINE. A badass genetically modified super soldier. A rare breed and you are some of the best humanity has to offer. Your death would have a massive cost, you are not a grunt, you are the main character(s) in a way. In HD2 you're just another enlist, you have no special qualities and your death is just a number. - While in general the shooting hoards is very similar, SM2 has more hands on combat mechanics than HD2 (duh space marines are jacked op heavy weights, why wouldn't they throw down) such as parrying or just more melee versatility in general. Compare this to HD2 where you couldn't hope to effectively lay hands on anything larger than yourself. I could list more if I really wanted to get into the gritty of it, but I don't. Basically what I'm trying to get at is the games are different. While I cannot say for certain what it is like to play SM2, I can just tell they are going to feel VASTLY different and offer a vastly different experience in general. I don't think you'll be able to get that feeling of calling in close air support and huge orbital explosions going off around you in SM2, much like I don't think you'll be able to get the feeling of beating aliens to death with your hands brutally and relentlessly in HD2. All this is to say, no, SM2 will NOT kill HD2 nor do I think it's going to dwindle the player base significantly. (the devs are doing that just fine on their own) Some players will leave to play new games, which is natural. Each game looks like it will have different itches they will scratch and you won't get the same feeling from them. As to HD2's current situation... it's bleak right now. The devs are being strange and words are hollow. However I don't think the situation is unsalvageable. I love HD2 and I have no doubts I will find enjoyment in SM2, maybe even more-so than HD2. But no one is wrong to say HD2 is suffering right now. I truly do think the devs have the best intentions and I will hold out hope, for a while longer at least. If I could summarize this in one short sentence it would be: I won't play space marines because I want to be a helldiver, and I won't play helldivers 2 because I want to be a space marine.
You missed one important point. People just want to come home and kill shit. COD is garbage, helldivers 2 is garbage and so are the other multiplayer games like Overwatch and apex all of em losing players. If Space Marine 2 gets the hype that helldivers did it will crush hell divers into shit. Based of the gameplay I just saw in this videos for space marines 2. I’m going to buy the game now. People don’t give a fuck about lore they just want to kill shit
В игре SPACE MARINES 2 кооперативные задания будут идти параллельно с заданиями сюжета Тита, где-то даже мы сможешь услышать отдачу команд и прочее такое, что свяжет те два прохождения. To start with, I would like to say that I love the enthusiasam that your bringing to my most beloved franchise. But I do feel that I should clarify a very important point. Most of the Lore heavy content will be found in the main campaign. There will be six co-op missions that are tied in with the main campaign. They take place at the same time, run parallel to the campaign and will be the same layout and mission every time. The only thing that will be randomised is the enemies. What you will fight, where they are and how many of them. The PVP is going to be where the games life blood flows, as it was in the first game. This is where the customisation will really shine for both Loyalist and Heretic Marines. With different game modes and room for so much expansion. It was the PVP that kept players coming back and keep on playing. It is the 41st Mellenium, and there is ONLY war!
It’s unfortunate that Arrowhead Studios conceded to Sony and is now stuck doing unsuccessful damage control after Sony’s poor decision-making just to boost numbers. Space Marine 2 is cool, and I’m glad it’s happening since the first one was pretty fun. But I’m not getting my hopes up, especially after hearing it’s going to have a cash shop. I just hope it doesn’t turn into another attempt at booting up an IP and milking it dry. If it’s a success, though, I’m definitely going to roll as a Salamander because they’re the only respectful Space Marines I know of-although I still prefer the Astra Militarum. And if I don’t see you later, good afternoon, good evening, and good night. Thank you, Greg from Cult Meetings, for reminding me of that classic line from The Truman Show. 17:14

He says that he isn't hating helldivers as much as I think, but everything out of that small section made it seem like it hates or just doesn't care at all about Helldivers. He also said that it will be the last nail in the coffin, while also saying that he doesn't think it's the end for Helldivers, which makes no sense. I'm very excited for Space Marines 2, as someone who knows almost nothing about the franchise. But I don't want it to replace Helldivers at all. This guy speaks so much in finality and absolutes while acting like it's chance (which it is, but he does not portray that well). He also acts like as if Space Marines 2 will 100% be better in every single way and do this and that guaranteed, saying but not portraying at all that it is just what he thinks. It's ironic when considering he's talking about Helldivers, which started off amazing but then when to shit, as if it couldn't happen to this game as well. I mean no disrespect to you, Greg, but please do a better job portraying things. This comment is not gonna be popular, I can tell, but I hope at least people will be slightly reasonable with their backlash.

For the Emperor!

Helldivers 2 went from causing death and destruction to run around for 40 minutes while doing as little fighting as possible. @@gibster9624 a meta in a PVE GAME by the way
Preach.

Fuck new content. Bugs still there from day one, not fixed. Every patch new bugs plus more nerfs. fuckem! WH40K FTW!

@@simple9208 I've played one, and I have yet to play bolt gun, but by the looks of it, it's going to be AWESOME
Nefing weapons in a pve game make no sense to me.
EXACTLY
Did Helldivers die yet? 😂
Nope, it’s still has players and loyal players
After the new update, everyone reinstalling 😂
Why cant we just enjoy games for what it is instead of comparing games and putting them in a bad light holy shit 😭
Both games don't allow you to kill the Heavies by flaming the leg for 2 seconds though.
They're not the same at all. They just share horde shooter gameplay and that's it
@@mtk1808 I think being space marines are a tad bit better 😂
True, I just feel like I sucks that the devs and Sony took it off steam. It lessens their player base by millions
To be fair HD2 has 12 people on the development team.

i loved helldivers and still really enjoy it, but the lack of good updates like new stratagems and enemies is insane.
FOR THE GLORY OF THE EMPEROR!!!!
The Astartes are a bunch of pussies. The Guardsmen are the true heroes of the Imperium.

Yes while the main focus of the advertisement may be the co-op mode, Space Marine 1 was always about the pvp and looking at the season pass structure it seems like they will absolutely start focusing on the pvp mode more post launch
The game will be fun, that is already more than what Helldivers 2 in its current state will provide.
It sucks compared to helldivers, animations /.gameplay environment physics are far less superior, its linear and scripted
Why are you dogging on space marines 2? Im not saying the game is flawless, but the game rocks. Helldivers and space marines 2 are vastly different games that have no business being compared.
@@jortx5578 probably because the content creator is dogging on HD2
Demographics aside, I also think the core gameplay loop and features are just too different. Speaking only from what I have seen from SM2 gameplay trailers, I think where the similarities start and end between SM2 and HD2 is the hoard shooter and squad system. That's it. Here's a few reasons as to why I think this;
- In SM2 you obviously choose your loadout/specialty off rip and there are predetermined roles to play.
If I could summarize this in one short sentence it would be:
I won't play space marines because I want to be a helldiver, and I won't play helldivers 2 because I want to be a space marine.
Exactly and i think you put it into great detail for the outsiders completely lost,SM2 was in fact made BY the WH40K community…
You missed one important point. People just want to come home and kill shit.
COD is garbage, helldivers 2 is garbage and so are the other multiplayer games like Overwatch and apex all of em losing players.
