As a black woman growing up and living in Florida, I’ve mastered a few ways, but the best way I ignore and keep those thirsty FL men to leave me alone, is to have both AirPods in my ears, listening to music or holding my phone up watching a video/movie playing, or make a phone call. Some still don’t care and still trying to talk to you. I just point to my ear and phone indicating I’m busy, and continue ignoring them.
but isn't that dangerous , because these pple can become violent or touchy in any second , shouldn't u be on high alert to try and defend yourself ? not hating on u ,just worried lol
The reenactment is very entertaining. However, being a woman can be very taxing. We should NOT have to deal with mini panic/anxiety attacks every time we walk past a group of men!
Best course of action I find is to completely ignore them, not engage in any kind of conversation with them. They might say "Are you deaf? You didn't learn how to talk?" but soon they will get tired and leave. It's insane that we have to daily manage and think what to say, and what would the best course of action be to keep ourselves safe.
I've done the same thing lmao and for some reason one time some old man kept trying to guess my name and bother me I remained silent for a 30 min maybe more and he gave up
I'm a black woman living in FL for almost 3 years now and I've noticed that creepy-ass old dudes love acting up toward me like it's too much to let me mind my own business. It blows my mind.
It sucks that this happens so much. I work at a library and the harassment was so bad in the my first few years that I've resorted to being very clipped and surly to men who look like they're going to chat me up. It sucks because especially in the South, there are some men who are just nice and polite without wanting anything in return but I've learned my lesson from being nice and polite myself and how it can be taken the wrong way.
I felt that when Kelly said "being a woman is a part time job" 😓 Living in Brooklyn, NY as a woman sucks when you need to run errands alone. Brooklyn men are a different breed and I don't always feel safe

Old men are especially creepy. I blame Hollywood and society for normalizing these old man/ young girl relationships. They think they have a shot with women 40 years younger than them and that they can buy them. I'm sick of it.
Girl, put earphones on when you’re outside so even if someone talks to to annoy you, you can pretend you didn’t hear him. I do that all the time whem im alone outside because other people are intrusive and sh*t. I’m introvert too and i prefer my space. (Or you can pretend to talk to someone else while having your earphones on haha) Sometimes If someone is really annoying and approaches. I say, “can you please give me space? I just wanted to be alone and to relax today. Thanks for understanding.” Then I smile a little. They back off. I usually also have a book with me when i go outside when i go to a cafe or my ipad so people know i am doing something but sometimes we can’t avoid annoying people😅
Actually, that's not a good idea. I once saw an interview with jailed predators and one way they choose their victim is to look for girls/women with earphones in (because distracted). 😕

“I don’t want the Chaka Khan”😂😂😂 this wiped me out. But actually as a Floridian I can testify some of these men out here are on another level and it doesn’t matter what you are wearing or how u present yourself some men just wanna harass us
Him: "Oh you busy? Then just give me your number" (*sits there waiting as if it's his RIGHT to have your number*) Why are some men always acting out of pocket??? THE AUDACITY
It’s her giving him a number anyway for me. Every time a woman gives a pushy man their info to appease them, all it does is “prove” to them that you want their pursuit and are just playing hard to get and they were right to demand it. Whether true or not, that’s their narrative.
When I worked at a health food store there was a customer who every female coworker were afraid of.
Looking at your picture, I can tell your ignore game strong 😂😂😂 (I mean that in a positive way- you’re beautiful 💖)
I'm usually just rude, plain and simple.
but isn't that dangerous , because these pple can become violent or touchy in any second , shouldn't u be on high alert to try and defend yourself ? not hating on u ,just worried lol
@@laurynwambui_ Being rude will get you killed nowadays.. Please be careful, these men be psycho

The reenactment is very entertaining. However, being a woman can be very taxing. We should NOT have to deal with mini panic/anxiety attacks every time we walk past a group of men!

Listen, I died at Chaka Khan only to be resurrected for this. I'm dead again🤣😂😭😭
Another idea is to go give your EX’s number
Best course of action I find is to completely ignore them, not engage in any kind of conversation with them. They might say "Are you deaf? You didn't learn how to talk?" but soon they will get tired and leave. It's insane that we have to daily manage and think what to say, and what would the best course of action be to keep ourselves safe.
I'm going to start speaking in Swahili or something to make them go away
@Supermodel Chick yes!! avoiding eye contact is another great tip.

Yep
I felt that when Kelly said "being a woman is a part time job" 😓
Living in Brooklyn, NY as a woman sucks when you need to run errands alone. Brooklyn men are a different breed and I don't always feel safe

I am going through a heart break right now so I’m hurting. This channel really helps me get through the day. Thank you so much for making me laugh and smile. You really belong in television
I've heard that line so many times its actually so disturbing. 'Wow you look so much like my daughter... Anyways what's your number?' Like how gross can you be.
He sounds like Trump! Lol
(Or you can pretend to talk to someone else while having your earphones on haha)
Sometimes If someone is really annoying and approaches.
@Bloom what if I told you, you can have headphones in… with nothing playing 😉. No distractions

He would say things like 'oh that's 5 dollar? are YOU included? 😏' ...or lean tooooo much over the counter to comment on our clothes. Every time I think back, I wonder why we never said anything, but once you're in that moment it's so difficult to speak up. Disgusting!
We have to learn. We have to learn to not be nice to these creeps and prepare in advance what to do and what to say. Yes, the gropers are counting on our shock to get away with it. I yell, "Don't touch me!" if they somehow many my sideways stand and distancing technique.

The sentiment you’re expressing Kelly: the hypersexualization of Black women. We are either the “mammy character” or these exotic sexual ‘beasts’.
