When a sadistic serial killer begins murdering key political figures in Gotham, Batman is forced to investigate the city's hidden corruption and question his family's involvement.
Cast:
▶ Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne / Batman: A reclusive billionaire who obsessively protects Gotham City as a masked vigilante to cope with his traumatic past.
▶ Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle / Catwoman: A nightclub waitress, drug dealer, and cat burglar who meets Batman while searching for her missing roommate; her moral ambiguity challenges Batman's black-and-white view of good and evil.
▶ Paul Dano as Edward Nashton / Riddler: A forensic accountant who is inspired by Batman to become a serial killer who targets elite Gotham citizens and livestreams his crimes. He seeks to "unmask the truth" about Gotham, taunting Batman and law enforcement with riddles.
▶ Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon: An ally of Batman in the Gotham City Police Department (GCPD). He is the only GCPD officer whom Batman trusts, and they work together to solve the Riddler case.
▶ John Turturro as Carmine Falcone: A Gotham crime lord and Selina's father.
▶ Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson: Gotham's district attorney.
▶ Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth: Batman's butler and mentor, though they have a hostile relationship and rarely speak.
▶ Colin Farrell as Oswald "Oz" Cobblepot / Penguin: Falcone's chief lieutenant who operates the Iceberg Lounge, the nightclub where Selina works. He is not yet the crime kingpin he is depicted as in the comics, and dislikes being referred to as the Penguin. - Фільми й анімація
"You don't have to pay with him, you've paid enough" such a batman line
wtf are you talking about...

Batman really respects the no killing rule here.
And Catwoman has some nice moves on her own. The nails were used cleverly.
he does so but in a compassionate/empathetic way, not in a gross, condescending, self-righteous way that we've often seen from batman in other media (especially the comics/animated series/arkham games). its really beautiful that at the end of the day its about protecting selina rather than protecting his code
@@wholethedogsout880 so perfectly put
How so?
That's what I honestly think about all girls with those long polished weapons, I mean nail.
And Selina trying to hurt Falcone with her own talons. How fitting.
@@theextremeanimator4721 Batman's no kill code let joker fuck up superman, nuke millions and lead to events of injustice.. this batman would've murdered joker if it meant Clark and Lois, rest of city have better life because it's more compassionate thing to do
Turturro nailed it as Falcone! 100% great casting choice!

That reaction caught me off-guard lol.
When it comes to Selina, Carmine YOU ARE THE FATHER!
1:31 I think it’s so creepy how he maintains his calm “mafia boss” voice even as he’s choking the life out of his daughter. Riddler may not be a good guy, but he was right about Falcone having to die 🤷🏻♀️
True. Falcone was far worse than the Riddler. Riddler wasn't really wrong about killing and exposing all the corrupt scum from Gotham. The only problem with him is that he also killed innocent people out of sheer spite.
@@magallanesagustin4952 He would’ve likely been executed but generally speaking, that doesn’t give someone the right to take the law in their own hands in that context.
@@teleportedbreadfor3days Yes it does, the law is inadequate for trash like falcone, he should be killed asap, not held for trial, there is no justice in not allowing catwoman to blow his brains out.
@@Gnarledreaper You’re thinking too shallowly about this. There is definitely no justice in killing him. If Falcone was put on trial, they could expose all of his connections and everybody working under him. They would’ve exposed and done away with a lot of problems and corruptions. With Falcone dead, a power vacuum is left behind and a lot of people, if not all of them, are left untouched.
@@teleportedbreadfor3days He would get out and kill the cops who helped put him there, hell he would probably get that done from inside, and selina would go first.
Best off killing people like this outright, nothing is gained by them living.
Damn that’s such a great ending to the scene. “You don’t have to pay with him, you’ve paid enough.”
He told her that he understood her pain and doesn't want her to suffer any more. Such a beautiful scene.
This was probably the most terrifying part of the movie to me, him just remaining so calm & collective while he’s slowly strangling his daughter
I just realized that Selina's outfit in this scene is the same from the comic Batman: Year One.
You're right
She looks like she just walked right out of it
@@aaronkenyon7112 literally
I feel like out of every live action iteration of Batman and Catwoman, this movie really understood the dynamic and relationship between them. Next to Gotham, I mean.
gotham was the most annoying, toxic, abusive version of them wdym? and im talking about on selina's end of things. she's a straight up BITCH to bruce in that show but I agree with u about this movie being the best version of them
When she says "I’m Maria Kyles kid" she kind of has the same vocal inflection as Falcone idk if that was intentional to show that she’s his daughter, but I thought that was very interesting.
Now that you mention it I do hear it
she had an accent the entire time, subtle but it was there
Turturro is by far the best and the most evil version of Falcone. Tom Wilkinson and the one from Gotham were great, too. But Turturro was exactly how a mob boss is supposed to be: ruthless, cunning and manipulative.
Yeah, right?
Wilkinson had a really intimidating voice tho have to say
The perfect Catwoman. She just looked like she leapt out of the comic of Year One.
@Gabe Mark so what if she’s black. She looked like the character.
@Gabe Mark She was the perfect casting for catwoman. Her and Jeffrey as Gordon.
@Gabe Mark … your racism is showing.
Yes and if she had no lines and just had to pose it would've been fine. She can't act. Go watch the movie again and take a shot whenever she changes facial expression. It will sober you up because you must be drunk if you think this performance did not drag down the rating of the movie.
@@gabemark8662she was mixed in the comics
Fun to see she uses long cat like nails to scratch him.
Vito
She did the same thing in Batman: Year One too (which her outfit here is inspired by)
I really like the visceral change in body language in this scene. Batman and Catwoman are raging through their foes. Batman reigning devastating blows these henchmen. And it ends with these two fierce warriors having this almost gentle struggle. It feels more like an embrace. Almost as if Batman is trying to console her at the same time. I really like that they're going with a legitimate romantic interest for him. I never thought I'd say that for Batman. Even in a lot of the comic Batman comes off a bit of a dick in that regard. A love interest, surprisingly for this kind of genre, made Bruce and Batman seem more raw and more relatable emotions while he dives into the Riddlers madness and his own.
Falcone was brilliant in this movie. So much menace in these warm, soft voiced threats.
I love how she says: He has to pay!
You don’t have to pay with him you pay enough.
I like how he doesn't even dispute her being his kid. Just accepts it for what it is.
Carmine is as sick as they come in turns of film mobsters.
Notice how Falcone took a punch to the face from batman and his glasses were flawless. This is an easter egg of vibranium being used to set up a marvel x dc crossover in the future
Lmaoooo 😭😭😭 underrated comment
Whatever you think of Pattinson as an actor, watch his eyes in this scene. He really shines and emotes in a way that his peers don't often get to as Batman.
Bruce save Selina soul from taking a life
Just like in "No Way Home" when Peter 2 stops Peter 1 from impaling the Green Goblin.
@@JoeTufanoTheMovieGuy your right
Life of a scumbag, not worth anything, not worth grieving over killing.
Nah. Falcone's life was worthless.
I love how she scratched him in the face which would’ve left scars, similar to carmine falcone in the comics.
They did an amazing job with Catwoman in this movie, im so sick of modern Hollywood thinking "strong female character" means they should be impossibly throwing men twice their size around, this movie wasn't one of those, Catwoman overcomes their size and physical advantages by having better reflexes and moves,
she isn't afraid to take on guys much bigger than her despite the massive physical advantage they have, and she uses skill to kick their ass, not bad writing! THAT is a strong female character!
This is the best Batman-Catwoman combo in the movies yet
Batman understands her. When he said she'd paid enough, he was letting her know just how much.
Man how was Selina such a great combatant?
Trained by Wildcat and Richard Dragon.

The acting and the writing are so perfect for a Batman film
0:17 What did the light do?
The Batman turn the lights off.
00:26 i love ❤
The cars on the outside headlights shine into the room yet they probably can’t see what’s happening i often think about stuff like that irl

That sound was more satisfying as an average video
Put the complete scene funeral please
I wonder if it was her mother who made the scars on Falcone face
Wait I know why Carmine Falcone has a scratch on his face in Batman The Long Halloween. He got that scratch from her own daughter
Yup
I already noticed they had Selina Kyle scratching Falcone’s face as an obvious reference to how she’s Catwoman, but I never realized until now that Falcone strangling Selina Kyle is similar to how a falcon uses its talons. Love the thematic choice and details in this scene.
Imma nevert forget the way she missed a clean shot smh
the lights went off
Falcone dodge it at the last second and then the lights went out
@@a.g.m9078 she was aiming directly at him. Even if the lights out he could not have flown away so far that she wouldn't be able to hit the shot
She's probably never used a gun before.
@@theangelproductions why would she own it then. She loaded it right outside the Iceberg lounge
Huh. You know, I've seen this movie a few times now, but I just noticed something: The lighting. At first I thought "Why do the lights keep going up and down?" Then I realized that, of course, it's a visual motif. It's introduced at 0:19. She shoots out the lights and then we see this really bright flashing light behind her, calling to her as she walks away from it, deeper into the darkness. Because the dark is where you find your monsters.
Then at 0:59 it's revealed that the source is the headlights from the traffic, the people of Gotham below. I then thought "Of course. It's the classic theme of light piercing the dark and/or remnants of light lingering within such great darkness. But maybe it also symbolizes the people's indifference? Or perhaps their ignorance to the horrors that are right in front of them?" And that very well may be. But Batman is, if anything, a warrior for the soul of mankind. His is the Pandora's Box story: Yes, this world is full of darkness and yes, evil hates isolation and spreads rapidly like a virus. But there is something else buried beneath all of that--something that's worth all the suffering. It's why he understands by the end of the movie that he needs to be a symbol of Hope, not Vengeance. This theme is displayed completely here as he saves the soul of Selina.
And that's when it hit me, the reason for the lighting: Gotham is watching. They're waiting to see if the collective soul of Gotham (and all mankind) leans one way or the other. And Batman saves her soul in front of all of them. And in so doing, he makes his case that even in the darkest of moments, it is better to fight for the best in us than to give way and allow evil to spread. Even if they don't rightly see it, he's showing Gotham a different path.
Man, I love purposeful and passionate design and storytelling.

1:00 "Sneaky sneaky sir." Please tell me you get that reference 😂
This movie was excellent in every way!
Instead of kicking her legs and feet on the floor I want to see her kicking her legs by doing bicycle or flutter kicks I want to see different kicks. Or maybe kicking her legs up and down like kicking her feet to the sky
Batman and Catwoman vs Agent Simmons, that's what you deserved for what you did to Bumblebee

She would of got off anyways I think
its not about that, its about her sacrificing apart of herself in killing someone
She is a terrible shot
I don’t get it, she missed at point blank range
She shot out the light to use darkness as her cover and to kill Falcones bodyguard and then eventually Falcone.

Where's PHANTOM
a tip to hollywood: never make strangulation scenes showing the pressure points. unless its a tarantino movie you can clearly see the hands or whatever just laying there, no strangulation happening at all. its really REALLY offputting.
stupid
Oooootidak
If you strangle a cat it’ll look like 1:27 ,, not that I know that from experience💀
Catwoman's too rash and reckless in this scene.
She is angry. She found out the her father who basically killed her mother and abandoned her as a child kill her friend/gf. She wants blood, and doesn’t care what happens to her.
For one, she’s a fledgling less experienced Catwoman, and for two she’s angry after finding out her biological father whom she already wants revenge on for abandoning her as a child also murdered her roommate/possible lover (?)
@@Beppo85 not her lover. shes just her friend (she uses pet names like baby/honey with people in general). also she's incredibly angry here because not only did he abandon her and kill her friend but HE KILLED HER MOTHER.
@@wholethedogsout880 She didn’t know he killed her mother yet at the time.

Maybe I'm just old now, but it's really hard to watch this latest Batman movie without missing Michael Keeton, or especially the Christopher Nolan series of Batman movies. Everything from the cinematography to the casting, and dynamic between the characters is just so strange about this movie to me. 🤷♂
I don’t get why Catwoman is always being portrayed as being this thug who always uses a gun with little to no regard of keeping her own identity secret. Quite the crappy cat thief if you ask me, should be trying to be stealthy and cleaver, like stay in the shadows and slowly pick them off instead of coming out into the open like that. Also, how come she needs Batman to save her all the time? Just makes her look like an extremely weak character who can’t even stand on her own. Guess she’ll always be a side character forever.
She is a side character. The movie is called THE BATMAN.
Are you forgetting when she saves him at the end of the film? They save each other: it's kinda their thing.
Also...it's the Bat's year 2. The Cat's too, by the looks of it, unless it's her year 1. I don't need her to be "stealthy & clever" right away; personally, I like seeing them grow into honed & skilled characters.
The movie is called ‘The Batman’ so of course she’ll be a side character and she’s getting a spin off series. And she saves Batman as well later on in the film.
She's in her early years. She's only just becoming Catwoman literally in the last few minutes of the movie. Plus she was running on pure rage and grief, she wasn't thinking clearly. I think she's learned her lesson now that vengeance doesn't fix things if you go down with them.
There is almost TOO MUCH wrong with your comment for me to even begin to pick it apart. It’s like you just diarrhea’d all over the dinning room table and I don’t even know if I want to begin, let alone know where to begin 😂
show's how weak catwoman really is
She would kick your ass
Year 2
And she’s not actually catwoman yet
She should never be tough. She should steal in secret. This tiny little woman isn't beating up any thugs.
Shows how much you know
a 5.2 with no fighting background can fight all the big villains in the movie. stupid movies
If not for Halle Berry, she's be the worst Catwoman ever.
definitely
Her performance was terrible. She got zero acting skill and should have been replaced in the first week when they found out. She does not change emotion ever. They had to add makeup and fake tears to make the audience aware she is distressed. It was cringe how bad her performance was. A literal cat could've done better.
