Now we must protect that grass as if its our own! 😂
Great journey till the oofs occured. Least there was still hope. Keep it up Guys 😎 👊
That's how my dad fixed our lawn when we were kids then when we took it down he blamed our pool..... It was fool proof
Full pool fool proof 👌
Hi HTD. Just a suggestion, but you may want to acquire one of those hard plastic paddling pool / sand pit thingies to stand your pool ladder’s external feet in. Fill it with water and anyone getting into the big pool will have their feet washed before they get in and you’ll reduce the amount of grass / debris that you have to scoop out of the pool to keep it clean. Saw this on another YT video and thought it was a great idea 👍🏼
Have a wonderful summer splashing around with the girls❤
OMG, you _want_ the kikuyu? That stuff was the _bane_ of my family's lawn when I was growing up. My mum would dig it up by the roots any time she saw it.
We live near the beach, very sandy and dry. CLEARLY hard to maintain a good lawn but Kikuyu and Couch strive in these conditions, so I've heard. Talk to me in 12 months and we'll see if my whole lawn is your Mum's dreaded weed grass.
I was wondering this too, tbh!
I admire your gardening dedication. Our lawn is mostly weeds, nettles, and something that maybe could be grass but who knows. It keeps raining, at least the backyard looks green I guess.
Building a pool isn't something I considered as a lawn fix, thanks How to Dad for opening my eyes
Thank you. I'm here for the people. 🙏🏼
weeds are the actual plants that keep our native animals alive. english lawn = valley of death for native bees, pollinators etc.
I'm loving the choice of a 1.3m tall high pool with a removable ladder (with no instructions!) to avoid having to make the "how to get a consent for your pool fence" video!
My husband was outside and looking quite thoughtful, I asked him, what he was thinking about and his reply was, you know honey, I’ve finally come up with an idea for our lawn. Stupid me asked him what it was, he replied, well concrete it all 🤦♀️🤣
Sounds like my husband😂😩
@@heidimarchant5438 oh noooo! There can’t be more than one of him !!! 😜🤣🤣
😆😆
Only you could get me so invested in lawn care 😂
He makes us interested in so many things we thought we'll never try 😂
Jordan actually said in one of his early videos that he use to work for a Landscaping business before the “How To Dad” enterprise. You can say taking care of His Lawn is Professional Habit.
@@PHN-2024 I clearly was a terrible landscaper!
FUN FACT: I was a landscape labourer in London, England between 2010 and 2011. I moved a lot of snow to dig a lot of holes.
@@HowtoDad Hey, Jordan. Why did you leave London? Did You Miss the Meat Pies of New Zealand?
@@HowtoDad Man what a winter that was! Remember hanging round for weeks
"Setting up a pool's about as fun as growing your lawn" 🤣🤣 At first I wondered why you would get a pool this time of year and then I remembered summer's just starting for you guys. Have fun!
I was wondering this too! lol
I admire his tenacity.
How to Dad is the artist, and the lawn is his canvas.
This canvas has issues.
@@HowtoDad 😆😆
That green canvas decided to turn brown !!!
@@HowtoDad lmao 😂😂
If I hadn't watched How to Dad grew his own lawn, I'd never have understood why people put up the "don't walk on grass" sign.
I learn a lot from your videos. :"]
Jordan being a former Landscaping Professional knows when to go to Plan-B. It’s going to be Summertime in New Zealand in a Couple of Months so the Pool will be Perfect to keep Cool for the Family.
Jordan has responded to another comment I posted that He was a Terrible Landscaper, Which means His Plan-B was always Better than Plan-A.
If I order a pool will I get the free How To Mum included?😂
It could be arranged.
LOOOL!!
😲😲😲
Great way to patch things up😂 going into the pool before it fills up is traditional!
How to mom crawled inside the pool box for content! Gotta love her! 🤣🤣🤣
Yes! 🤗
Hahhh I did exactly the same thing! We had an alpaca ranch/farm and I put in an above ground pool “for the kids” in the yard. Similar build out, but without a heater, we only could make use of it 5 months of the year. And with me (our how to dad) constantly messing with the filter and chemicals. Wishing you good luck on the outdoor endeavors! 😂
1:04 thanks for the American translation! It's very helpful. I'm looking forward to "how to pool maintenance" and "how to pool repair"!
I'm not...
Haha! I did NOT see that coming! I was ready for lawn advice. 🤣
Yeahhhhh, I don't do lawns and I only have one gardening tool. It's called a cement mixer and I endorse this product 👍Nice pool though. Oh and good luck with the various things that will thrive and mutiply in there just as the good lord intended. Yup, been THERE alright.
It'll be the Devil Pool before you know it. We have bore/hard water and it is so hard keeping it from going green. If it rains it turns to a swamp. We have to buy this expensive granular stuff and a hydrochloric acid to keep on top of it.
It keeps the kids happy for an hour so that's a win
I was thinking the dog is gonna be one happy pup once she gets in there, lol
Rip some holes in the liner lol
I think the pool's shadow made a great improvement in the backyard. Disappointed no people were found in the packaging.
Did the accent change when dad read out the dimensions in metric vs standard, or am I hearing things!?
It did! You imperial users need all the help understanding you can get😅 #MetricForTheWin
I heard that too. Haha. Cheers from Santa Cruz Cali!
I sorta did this with my tiling project. I busted through the dry wall. I have a tile bridge over the hole. A nice utensil holder covers that right up. That ensures no one bangs it and breaks the bridge.
We could have a pallet and do moss, clovers, flowering ground covers, etc instead of grass. tall grassy shrubs like pampas instead of box hedges are less maintenance. Best part is that some species will always be more drought and sun tolerant and will not grow as tall as grass. Everyone else but you will have bleached grass in the summer.
Looking forward to the next series of “How to fix your leaking pop-up pool”…
NNNNOOOOOoooooooooooooo
Hey, now! Give it a chance first! lol
Our deepest sympathies are with you mate. We used your advice/tutorial back when we were trying to grow grass. I often wonder had you dug a trench like moat around the infected grass (severed the root) if it would have helped reduce the spread of the plague. Hope you enjoy the pool!
Amazing solutions to all my parenting questions. This one was indeed the best.
You have my utmost admiration HTD... but not for your canny lawn fix, I can't believe you actually got in the pool in New Zealand in September🥶
North Island, never gets really cold.
@@leslyeglover3506 I live in Perth and I wouldn't go in our pool till December
Out of the box engineering. Good on ya!
We are doing the same project, thank you.
That is so cheating! You were so proud of your lawn.
🥴😄
Um you clearly missed this video: ua-cam.com/video/AxRqhT6yf5M/v-deo.html
Hey bro, you could have called the local fire house and ask them to fill the pool. Most in auks and far north will do it as a training session
Kikyu grass is really robust once established. Looks like a problem with the initial soil composition maybe? (Assuming you have been watering it and fertilising it sufficiently).
Should have just bought that rollout carpet lawn.. maybe more expensive initially, but in the long run probably going to pay for itself in terms of time and money saved that has been going into trying to save the current one?
We have the same pool 16x32 ft
Love it!
Danya
I laughed so many times during this video! Can't wait to see it in use!
"21 days into the pool set up..." 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That is the grass I am trying to get out of my very small lawn!!
Who wants to tell him pool chemicals when can kill the lawn around the pool.
Yeah I did think that.....the vicious cycle continues.
yea, but if you put a 0.5 meter border of pea gravel around the pool, then it's supposed to be bare, and it will avoid muddyness being tracked about.
The nastiness of the chemicals is outweighed by the benefits of the water (as long as you don't go overboard on the dosing)
A tip from me, use the ready mixed pool tablets rather than playing with all the different bottles and test kits, it is a touch more expensive but I have never had a problem (apart from when I've run out😙) and spend more time enjoying the pool than battling with a chemistry set.
Legend has it that the pool is still filling up to this day.
oh yea, it's spring equinox down there. have a fun summer.
TWISTY SLIDE!!!
I know you already have a slide, but you could add a twisty slide from the top of your deck. I'm going to add one to my soon. Safer then going down the steps for the younger ones.
Y’all are going to have so much fun!!! 🎉🎉🎉😊
nice pool 👍
Good old Kiwi ingenuity!
Final Countdown keeps popping up ❤
I haven’t seen it yet but I’m excited!
Fix lawn fast & get a pool out of it 👀 Sold (Kekw) It was Sadge to hear when lawn decided to give up despite your hard work. Least you kept going & persevered once again. Great work, Keep it up & Stay Safe Guys 😎 👊
Actually, I was like, "Dude, no wonder your lawn looks like that-you've got a dog"

@@HowtoDad 🤣
I thought maybe because the kids were probably running around on it a lot! Yes, I have heard dog pee absolutely destroys lawns as well though.
Loved how you turned it around! Great lesson for your fam in how to overcome the unexpecteds in life.
(Wish I’d seen this years ago, we just put in a raised garden…but there’s still room🧐)
Great video. This video should help people how to fix there grass.
Great idea!
And no lawn were harmed harshly during the video 📸
You should try growing clover, it's a lot easier to manage, needs a lot less water and it's really damn pretty
How to fix your lawn? I bought a pool😂
Would be nice with more videos like this in addition to the other HTD ones 🤗 So nice to see all the girls and HTM 💗🌸
Finally well get some good pool maintance instructions coming up... here in Europa we are going into Winter. But i want to see how its done for nett season.... im counting on you....
You should put a water bucket next to the ladder if don't wanna see too much grass and dirt in the pool...
Good point! Once someone goes in, they better have dry feet, and if they get out, they stay out until they are dry again. No going in and out constantly !!
I am laughing hysterically at your time stamp comments 🤣. You guys are the best !!!❤️🙏🏼
Next video: how to clean your pop-up pool. :-)
Watching this because lawn is D.E.AD! Very entertaining 😅 I need a pool
Ya know? 🤔 It really does look better.
Dog rocks are the best 👌 they work.
These can't possibly work as described. They supposedly lower "nitrates found in your dog's diet, therefore lowering the amount of nitrates expelled in his urine that causes the lawn to yellow." but that couldn't possibly work because THE SAME WATER goes in dog bowls as DIRECTLY waters the lawn.
Moss lawn. Looks great. Survives drought. Eco friendly.
Or pool... pool is good
In my crystal ball I see a handful of little girls jumping from the trampoline right into the pool.
Awesome mate.
Plant some canna lilies next to the pool. My friend did that and they were very successful with the splash out water from the pool
Great vid man! Useful and entertaining 😊
Next chapter in the saga: How to keep your pool blue! (Kia kaha)
that's a nice looking pool!!
how much was it??
Probably a LOT
Quick fix your lawn!!👌👌
I've got a solar pool heater up in Whangārei we're not using anymore.
NICE! 🤙
The 30 minutes must be just for opening the boxes and taking the parts out.
Love the whole LORD OF THE RINGS shout out... ;-) hire some hobbits to help with the rest of the lawn mate!
My man really just did a hair transplant on his lawn.
So get ready for future pool videos
Effective money management is needed if we want to build a strong financial future tomorrow, I started out with 10k, 3 years ago investing In diversified stock market. I did two duplexes with seller financing, Fast forward to now. I am worth 500k and currently finishing my 8 unit apartment building. I am 35 and already retired from the rat race. stock investing works if you are willing to put the hard work in.
I didn't get help with money and still wont to this day. I am working on fixing my past credit history. I still made it without the banks. Investing got me where I am today. I haven't reached the goal yet but I am glad at where I am now.
Am really impressed, At 35, i was worth a little over $200k but what you have done with your finances is pure genius.
You have done well girl. it's people like you that set the benchmark for people like us to know that attaining financial stability is possible with the right investment plan.
@Rickie Gayle Experience does play a key role when investing in diversified stock market, that why I have Rachel Hilda , whose expertise has greatly aided in persevering the diversified stock market. Over three years she helped me in growing my portfolio using their diversified knowledge of the financial market.
I don't want to be seen promoting anybody on here, am only making this exemptions for you as we all can grow from each other.
epic bro i saw you in public but i was to scared to come up to you
One man's pool is another man's (*the neighbor) eyesore. 😒
You do need to replace those mineral rocks like every 2 months.
from the looks of your backyard, you might be spoiling your children my dad is too :D
Gonna have do some more videos to pay the water bill.
I was thinking his water bill was gonna be outrageous filling up this thing. 😆
Great video! So funny!
This channel turns into a "how to lawn"
Odd previous comments about the dog water minerals. Bottom line though, thinking maybe that one could be a scam.
Give How to Mum 15 minutes while you're looking it up and it will be done. 🙄
Here, because of the extreme heat, we dont have the right to have a pool, to save water
I cant wait till he has to fight with the pool because algae keeps growing and making the water green.
lmao you can tell Jordan is just so done
How’s the pool doin 8 months later?
Those dog rocks couldn't possibly work by altering the water because THE SAME WATER goes into the dog bowls that waters the lawn. It most likely is your pup's urine that's burning the lawn.
Um....maybe go back and rewatch that bit mate 😅
Oh good he's finally snapped
I was thinking spray paint
maybe the 30 is mean to be 30 days lol
My thoughts were 30 mins to fill up the pool, not assemble! But both are horribly inaccurate. Maybe 30 mins was just to take everything out of the box. 😂😂😂
@@danielleking262 or 30 minutes arguing with your other half :P
This is basically what i plan to do with my hair to cover my hair loss
I thought the title says "dad lawn" lol.

Can we get how to mom videos? Pls?
This seems like too much work for me
