There is something very satisfying when hand raking. Even with all the machines out there, hand raking still is my favorite for getting the job done. On a small lawn of course lol. Love that Landzee spreader. Nice job Shaun.
Hi.. yeah I know.. I should.. just havent done that yet 😳😳. I have been doing follow up videos several weeks after the jobs got completed. I do plan to call by this garden, this week and get some pics or footage which I will upload
Hi Shaun how much does your roller weigh? I currently have a lawn company come 3 times a year and add treatment to my lawn. But they say that I should generally not use a roller on my lawn and especially not one over 40 kg. Because it will compact the lawn to much, because I removed a lot of weeds by hand the last 2 weeks, I now have a lot of bare spots that I need to reseed and have just done that by filling in new grass seeds topdressing, but no roll presser. What do you recommend?
Hi Jimmy they have a point but seeds do need to touch soil well. I dont generally use a doller any other time than seeding. So you could use a roller (sorry not sure of mine nor do I worry about the weight) or simply walk over seeded areas to push them down a bit. I've also had odd times when it's been raining during a renovation and I ended up being unable to roll as it all stuck to the roller.
Was it a clay base soil? I have only weeds in my lawn, should I kill it then rotovate it and bring compost in or can I just kill it scarify it to the ground as it's weeds and only weeds?
Nice job done shaun, jjust one question for you, on what setting do you put you're seed spreader on ? As I've got a Scott spreader as you have. I put it on the highest number .
Hey Shaun, I’m working through your videos (they’re great btw) and note that you regularly put down a wetting agent as part of your process when overseeing etc. Is there a specific watering agent product that you’d recommend ?
Hi any should do the trick.. it's just to help the lawn in heat stress and aid seed germination. I'm just looking at some online to start using on my own lawn.
Hi Jay yes they should do just fine. As long as the grass is actively growing over 7 degrees itll do its thing. As we get closer to winter though it slows down a lot. September is typically a great time
Lovely job, 👍 not seen a soil roller George . Looks like it did a great job 👍
Yeah its a good bit of kit 😊
Making my way through your videos. Something quite therapeutic in seeing your lawn renovations.
Thanks! 😊
Great job Shaun , like to see what it looks like now
I'll call by this week and upload a few photos of it.havent been back myself since it was done
That bagging up technique is genius! Stealing that! Nice one!
Ha ha nice. It gets harder as you get older or more unfit 🤣

Hi Shaun I've just done something similar to my lawn but didn't put down fertilizers before seeding is it necessary or will it take longer to grow.😀👍👍
Hi no its not entirely necessary but does help. Just keep it noce and damp over the next few weeks 😊
@@LawnRight will do thanks 👍👍

Hi no not clay based.. id apply some roundup.. wait 3 or 4 weeks, scsrify heavily, seed then thin layer compost on top.. firm it all in and keep moist
@@LawnRight great thank you!

Same here mate highest setting. I still find the seed is slowish to.drop so I usually go over the lawn 2 or sometimes 3 times

How come you use compost for overseeding instead of Topsoil? Great videos.
Thanks! I've used both with great results.i just prefer compost as you're also getting some nutrients in as well
@@LawnRight ok thanks for the reply. I work for a Lawn Treatmebt Company and we always use topsoil, was just curious.
Great video, will the seed germinate and grow in September? Or will it be spring before you get good growth
