I bought the recipe and even used the additional ingredients except aloe vera powder, which I did not have. I used a hot water bath to melt the heated phase and it never got totally clear, but I added everything together, for the 200g batch. I poured the recipe into plastic deodorant tubes. Had to tap out a lot of bubbles! Got three tubes to give to myself and my daughters. If we like it, I'm going to make a batch to sell. Thank you so much for the video. I forgot I had the agave nectar scent, too, but I want to use it when I make the big batch. I had used an essential oil blend by NOW called Bottled Bouquet.
Wonderful! Let me know how it goes for you and your daughters! I've been using it for several years now and absolutely love it! Using my agave nectar today actually 😂
I bought this deoderant recipe off of Etsy. I can't wait to try it. I've made deodorants with baking soda in them and it would irritate my skin. I'm happy to find one that is baking soda free. Thanks!!
You don't need a hook, I'd watch just to be cheered by your laugh 😄 This was interesting for me, because the deodorants are on my short list of next products to add to my line. Well presented, thank you! 😊
Aww, thank you Violet! This formula is def one I would recommend you start with. I tried so many different recipes before landing on this one - so much waste! Good Luck!💖
Tammy!!!! I swear we are twins separated at birth!!! I was just talking to a friend about expanding my products (if I ever get back in the soap room) and actually said "wonder if I could do deodorant"? Thank you so much...this was super exciting and I watched it twice...maybe 3 times..lol!! FANTASTIC once again!!
Also...just a question...wonder if you just melt the hard oil and emulsifiers by themselves and then add the liquid oils..if that would help with the cool down quicker and clearing it up? Also....which preservative did you use? I am so excited about this one...thank you again for sharing.
haha Great Minds/ Long Lost Twins...it all works! 💖 - I use optiphen plus as the preservative. I love your idea of melting the hard ois/emulsifiers before adding liquid! 🤦 - next time I will try that, thank you for that! (hoping soon for your soap room my friend!)
I brought the recipe! Thank you for the plug ❤️ Waiting for one ingredient to make it. I’m excited because over the past 3 years it has been so hard finding store brought deodorant that fits my needs. Hopefully this will be my answer lol. Thanks soooo much ❤️
I'm not answering your other question just now so it stays in my feed (otherwise they drop off and I forget LOL) - I'll check my formula when I get home and get back to you!
Thank you! I just made it while watching this video again! I love it so far. I got curious and rubbed some on my arm to see how it feels and oh man… this stuff is bomb! 😂😍 My oils did come out clear. Could it be the oils you used? I accidentally overheated my oils in the microwave! But everything still came together beautifully. I highly recommend 💯
@@thebeatinstitutemue8966 it might be the oils that yours came out clear - I'm so glad you like it! I love it! My customers do too (the ones that will actually give it a try LOL)
¡Hola!
Yippee they came out great. I love all the 'different' things you do, always really interesting. I have a sneaky tip, nothing to do with making deodorant as I don't have a Scooby-Doo about that. Your diatomaceous earth, pour that leftover bit in a small bag. Put your new large bag in the now empty tub, then just put the little bag of the old stuff inside on the top of the new stuff and screw on the lid.
Hey Lisa! Thanks for the tip! I actually did that with my stearic acid, and for some reason had a mini meltdown with the diatomaceous earth hehehe - I'm an idiot sometimes. 😳😂
Tammy, I've never made a deoderant! I know shocking!!! I just thought maybe hand crafted deodorants were all hype, and wouldn't really work. I don't have to use a lot of deodoran personally. Never have had too. I just don't sweat! My 17 year old son actually has a condition where he can't sweat. He can't be outside if it's 80 degrees or above. His inability to sweat causes dehydration issues and he passes out. So, I often wonder if he got some of his issue from me. Although, I do perspire ever so lightly, where he doesn't at all. It's crazy. You have inspired me though, to buy this recipe and give it a shot! I haven't released a new product in awhile. It'll be fun. If I get in trouble with it, I know who to ask! Which makes this easier than usual. Jill
Hey Jill! You're right! I read that first sentence and thought WHAT?!?!? (then I though "I can't believe I make something Jill doesn't!) You are becoming my formula Hero 😃 That's crazy about your son, I'm surprised it causes dehydrations, my mind it thinking it would cause an opposite situation... You def get with me if you have trouble, I can help you for once hehe 💖
Love the video! I was wondering if for the balm you've omitted the cetyl alcohol completely, did you raise the percentages of certain ingredients to make it an even 100%?
I believe this one looks right: www.etsy.com/listing/712666940/diy-natural-deodorant-balm-baking-soda?ref=yr_purchases it has been a number of years and the cover looks different but the ingredient list looks the same - good luck!!!
Hi Josie, honestly I don't remember how I did that - usually I would make up for it, but I may have just adjusted all the other percentages without it. Sorry I can't answer for sure!
Hi I love your videos! Thank you for sharing! Can you tell me if this deodorant and balm would be safe for “nether” areas like the name brand Lume? I’m hoping to find something natural that is safe like lume is. Thanks!
I suppose it could be considered safe to use in that way, although it takes a bit of rubbing in that may be uncomfortable to do. It also would depend on the fo or eo that is used, you have to be pretty careful there. Good Luck!
Thank you …I got so excited over this until I saw the amount of different ingredients it needs to make it let alone buying the recipe.. I can’t imagine how much it would cost for every single ingredient that is needed to make this recipe it’s not worth the price if just using for yourself ..I understand if your selling it and I see you do sell it which I would like to do but now that any kind of PayPal form of payment at a Etsy store, EBay etc - if you make over $600 your going to get a 1099 form..
the new guidelines came out a couple of years ago and dropped the safe usage of lemongrass to next to nothing. I can't even use it to make soap anymore 😢 check out eocalc.com - they have a great resource to help you figure out how much is safe to use
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique oook...... I think it's fine that we use lemongrass. That study doesn't seem accurate, lemongrass seems to be in most ingredients such as lip balms, Deodorants, Soaps, detergents, a Haircare & more. I've not heard nothing wrong in using lemongrass, but okay...
@@respectdatruth7160 the report is accurate I'm afraid. If you look at any lemongrass EO IFRA document you will see the IFRA show it at 0.04% for deo and 1% for soaps. If you are seeing it in products they are either not following the industry standards or they are using it at a very very low %. I will say a friend is helping me come up with an eo blend for a soap and we are using lemongrass at 1% and I am super excited to try it. She says it is strong enough to come through at that low of amount. 🤗
Is there a recipe for this that I may be able to get close? Im on a budget. I had to leave my career of over 20 years to stay home with sick daughter who has special needs. She has auto immune disease and some skin issues. I have been working on lotions and butters. So far they are working great! Now Im looking for a recipe for her deoderants and hopefully shampoos. I can only purchase a few ingredients at a time so it takes me a while to gather them to make the recipes. My hope is to be able to one day introduce them to other parent that are going through the same issues that we are. Thanks for sharing!
Great video and topic… does your deodorant eliminate/lessen sweating and odours? We are in the middle of summer here in Australia, ( average temp 36 -39.c) so desperately need to find a good recipe
Hi Susan! I would say yes it does lessen sweating and def odors - but probably within "reason" my husband will still sweat and get a bit stinky after playing golf all day in the summer. I don't really sweat much anymore, but in the heat of the summer if I am out in it I will. So, normal days and activities we don't have a problem, but I won't say never. It's so dang hot there! 🥵 I don't know how you do it LOL
Hi Lisa! I get them from Etsy - www.etsy.com/listing/504712220/eco-friendly-70-ml-100-pack-deodorant?ref=yr_purchases This is the lowest price I have found, and no the oils don't seep through at all! Good Luck!!🤗
Thank you for the great video. I have had this recipe for quite awhile and haven’t made it yet. I need to order some o gradients. Curious why you didn’t like the cetyl alcohol. I usually love it. Thanks!
Hi Hilary! I usually love cetyl alcohol too, but I found it made this deodorant too thick for my tastes (in the balm) it is perfect for the solid / stick, but I still lower it a bit I think. Good luck with your making it!
I can't find anything anywhere for that recipe. It calls for liquid zinc ricinoleate which I also have searched for and can not find anywhere. I wonder if she took it down because there is no place to purchase that ingredient. 🤔
Tammy, I enjoyed your video and was so impressed I ordered that recipe from same place you did. I followed your link and found the recipe to buy but I haven’t been able to download it. I paid 10.00 and have receipt but still can’t download can you help me please. Thank you
oh no Debbie! did you go onto the Etsy site and go to your previous orders. I think there should be a download option there. I think it should have gone to your email that you sign in to Etsy with, but if not I hope it is in your past orders. Other than that I don't think I have much help for you. I'm not affiliated with the shop at all, I just really like her recipes. I would def contact the shop if you still can't download it. good Luck!
yes, I use these from Etsy - www.etsy.com/listing/504712220/eco-friendly-70-ml-100-pack-deodorant?ref=yr_purchases I found them to be the least expensive and still really good quality!🤗
I love your videos! But how do you clean up your bowls after making your deodorant? When I use dawn It smears and takes forever for me to clean, there must be a better way! TIA!!❤
haha - it is such a struggle. I usually will microwave the bowls or use a heat gun to melt and then wipe with paper towels like crazy. It takes a lot of paper towel usually but otherwise it takes a ton of water - gotta choose your battles on that one 😆 once I get as much of the balm off the container as I can I then go in with the dawn. even then it can take a couple of washes to get the job done. thanks for watching and for your kind words! 💕
Hey Tammy! I purchased this recipe. . Made some testers and I remembered you said you omit cetyl alcohol from the stick form. Does that make it softer/ more spreadable? It feels grabby and pulls armpit hairs on men. Other then that I like it so far. What did you up in its place?
Hi Laura! I double checked my formula to this one. For balms, I dropped the cetyl alcohol altogether and for the solids I dropped it to 5% (instead of 7). I think it does make it more spreadable and less draggy. My husband had that same problem and he now uses it with no problem. The only thing I don't like is the solids are messy with the cardboard containers. They get a bit gunked with use. But honestly, I haven't had anyone complain about it. But that is one reason I prefer the balms. As far as what I replaced it with, I don't remember exactly. Maybe nothing LOL - back then I would just drop an ingredient without too much thought of keeping a formula at 100%. But it must have worked out ok. But you could always replace with more powders or even oils if you want to see about making it a bit softer still. Let me know how it goes!!
@Walnut Creek Bath Boutique thank you so much, Tammy! I will certainly be giving it a go! I like the formula myself. It is pretty draggy on my non hairy armpits, I can only imagine how my husband feels 🫢 Do you not use this formula anymore? Thank you again so much!
Hi Tammy. I have this same recipe, but haven't made it yet. You said that you lowered the percentage of cetyl alcohol a bit in the stick recipe. Is that because during cooler months, as written, it's too hard? Do you keep the cetyl alcohol as written in warmer months? Do you mind saying how many percents you reduced the cetyl alcohol? The reason why I'm asking is the deodorant recipe I made up, I have had to make two variations...one for cooler weather, and one for warmer weather.
Hi! I don't change my recipe at all for the time of year. I haven't had any problems with the hotter temps, but I don't do a lot of outdoor shows either. I don't mind sharing my % - I don't remember what the recipe calls for so I am not sure how much less I use, but I use the cetyl alcohol at 5% Hope that helps!!
What are the ingredients after zinc oxide. Sorry my english not well. I want to check the ingredients price first and then buy the recipe because too many ingredients that I didn’t see in other natural deodorant. Thanks
Hi Eva - let me just give you a link to one of my deos on my website, there you will find a list of all the ingredients I use. I hope this helps! walnutcreekbathboutique.com/collections/all-natural-deodorants/products/sunday-morning-deodorant-balm
The last time I added .5% and it wasn't enough so will go up to 1% and see. The problem is you have to add before it gets too cooled and thick, so it is hard to adjust. I going to keep tweaking it until I'm happy. I am adding to the base right after powders but think it may be better to add right before powders. I'm not sure it really matters though.
This deodorant sounds amazing and having no bicarb soda as an ingredient is just fabulous. Do you have to use Essential oils or are Fragrance oils okay too. Sometimes the happy accidents are the best. I found both powder and pellets for the Zinc Ricinoleate does it matter which you use? Wonderful video you always explain everything so well that it makes me think I could make these.
Aww, thanks Tanya! You don't have to use essential oils, my agave nector is from WSP. It is an odor eliminator fragrance so that is why I chose it (it smells wonderful!) - about the powder, I suppose you could use that, but I think it would change the consistency a bit, and the consistency is key when making a deodorant. Well I think it is, I have made some that are too hard and wouldn't melt on the skin and others that were too soft and was a mess on the skin LOL
OMG that deodorant is amazing!!! As soon as I’ve watched your video, I ordered it (with some soap and shampoo because.. well.. why not!? 😅) I’m also a soap maker and tried many recipes for deodorant but was always disappointed. I’ve never found a deodorant without baking soda working and my skin is super sensitive.. I finally got the package 3 days ago (yeah, I live in Malta so it takes time to get it in a US hub then shipped to EU 😅) and I’m sooooo happy with the deodorant!!! I probably won’t pay another 27€ shipment fees, but will definitely check that recipe! Thank you sooo much! I love your videos!
Hello Gaelle! That is awesome that you liked the deodorant! Your comment reads like you bought it from me but I don't think you did. I am just now trying to figure out my international shipping settings so that it is completely fair to both parties - I am struggling big time on that. I am curious how long you had to wait for your package after ordering it though. Thanks for watching and your lovely comment!! 🥰
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique I did buy it from you, but because you don’t ship to Malta, I used a hub from Malta post, so it gives me an address in US (it took 5 days to get the package to the hub from the moment I placed the order), but Malta Post takes between 1 to 3 months to ship from US to Malta, that’s the only reason I got it so late, but I use their services a lot so I knew! and your products are really good! Well worth the wait ☺️
@@gaellevierset9529 Oh my gosh! I had no idea that package was going out of the states! I had to go look for it on my website haha - I suppose all of the letters after your name was part of the shipping process. I'm so happy you told me this! I'm such a newbie when it comes to international shipping. I sent a practice package to someone in the EU and it cost me 17 American dollars - I didn't think that was too bad. But I have no idea what my customers see when they are trying to order. Again, working on this - thanks again for being so great! 🥰
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique 17$ is good! With Malta Post, it cost me 27€ 😆 but yeah, that’s how bad I wanted to try your products 😅 I know only my own soaps and really wanted to try yours and that deo! I have no regret at all and if I can help a bit small businesses in the process, it’s even better! ☺️ thanks for your work and again: love your videos!
Hi Tammy, found your channel while looking for natural deodorant. Your channel name also caught my eye since I currently live by Walnut Creek CA! I just have one question. What do the ingredients smell like before you add the fragrance? I am looking for a fragrance free deodorant and am new to all this so don't know if the various ingredients have their own scents or not (yet). Thanks for your time and help! Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Hi and Welcome Donna!! I just happen to have some unscented base I made up so I ran down and took a sniff LOL - I would say it has soft sweet and floral notes that I do not find unpleasant. It is by no means a strong scent and I probably wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't been specifically looking for it. Thanks for watching and commenting!💞
I don't have complaints from customers with them - but they do get gunky and a bit messy on the outside. There is just no hope for it I don't think. I really prefer the balm. I think it is cleaner. Good Luck!!🤗😃
Awesome vid again! I'm off to buy this deodorant recipe! Thank you so much for sharing! 😀 Welp, not only did I buy the deodorant I bought 3 more recipes! Lawd, I couldn't stop myself! 😳
hehehe - you caught that did you?!?! I just add a pea size (or 2) to my fingertips and rub it in until is has absorbed. Really pretty easy, and not gross at all once you get used to it 😆. The ebook recommends rubbing in the solid (stick) as well but I don't usually mess with that when I use those.
Any reviews for this recipe I have teenager I need to know if it will work for them? 10 dollars if it works is Worth but I need to know if will work on all
I can't answer the why of it I'm afraid - I just know that the usage rating went way down with the new IFRA standards (I have a video all about that if you are not aware of what that is) I had to stop using it to make soap too, as the rating is pretty low. You can still use it but not at the % I like to use in soap
Question, are you using Optiphen Plus or regular? I see in the group many are using plus but im not a fan of it lol. Regular one I use regularly but if I need to get plus I gueeeess I’ll order it 😂 Haven’t in years! I do have Euxyl though
I finally remembered to look, I do use Optiphen Plus in mine. but looking at my notes on both of them, I think plain ol' Optiphen would work just as well. I'm not familiar with Euxyl so can't comment on that one. Regular Optiphen has a wider range of pH levels, I don't remember off the top of my head what the pH is for this but I'm thinking I might just switch to the regular. Thanks for your comment, it really go me thinking!💖
This is interesting but I'm curious to know why you wouldn't put the cetyl alcohol at the balm at all but at the solid you would? is this a not so good ingredient?
Hi Nina! Cetyl Alcohol is a great ingredient but it adds too much viscosity for a balm. The solid needs that "hardness" but the balm without it is nice and scoopy 😀
Wow! I’ve been curious about this recipe and this video makes me want to buy it! I know it’s not an antiperspirant but with all of the powdered ingredients does it absorb moisture? Thanks again for another great video. From one Hoosier to another I am tired of the cold and ready for spring! 🌸💐🌺
Hiya Neighbor!!! - I suppose I would say yes, it does absorb moisture. I guess I haven't thought about it in awhile...so that is a great question because it made me evaluate that. Now my husband will still sweat in the heat of the summer while golfing, but day to day I would say not much sweating. Oh this cold, I too am so ready for spring. We had our snow (finally)- now I'm good and done with it! One snow a season is all I care to live with.
It’s good to perspire - healthy in fact. What we are aiming to achieve with de…odour…ants is exactly as the name suggests - prevent the odour. This is achieved by the use of antibacterial/fungal ingredients 😊. However our diet and overall health can also be a determining factor Blessings
super bummed the link to purchase is no longer available! I have all the ingredients and really want to do this! Your awesome and the video made me laugh. Some of the same mistakes I make. I don't feel alone. lol
aw, thank you for your very kind words!! yes we are certainly in this together LOL I don't know why the took the recipe down. It really doesn't make sense to me at all. You might contact them and ask maybe...if you do please let me know so I can tell others that ask me about it!💞
Going on Etsy to look for recipe. Will the balm and the lotion recipe be together? Also want to get the natural tubing . You made my day by posting this. Found the zinc pellets on make your own buzz. Wish that WSP would let us combine orders. Ty so much. Wish I could make this today 🥰
Hey Laurie, do you mean are the balm and the solid together? The recipe is for the balm but she states you can put them into the tubes instead. I just found the recipe needed slight tweaking for the 2. (I know what you mean about WSP - I just ordered last week and 2 hours later wanted to add to it
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique WSP also owns Make it your own but different ordering Would like to combine for ease. I want to say that WSP has a 24 hour add-on policy but I have done it after that time as long as the order hasn’t been filled. I love WSP but in the last year they have taken two weeks approximately to fill an order and then several more days to get it to me. That’s a long time to wait on ingredient
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique oh… Forgot to talk about the bomb thing. I was asking if the recipe for sale online at Etsy is for a balm and then a little bit different for the solid lotion type that you put in the stick. I went on the Etsy shop and looked but it doesn’t make that clear. I would like to do both. And since I’m here, is there a way to make that balm into a stick form by adding some plant-based wax or hardener . I’m not sure if I want to use my fingers to apply 😁
@@lauriewilson4741 ohh I didn't realize that is what you meant - yes that would be nice. They also own Rustic Essentials now. Honestly I rarely order from WSP anymore, customer service is not great and I don't feel they have the same care for us they had when they were smaller. I do order from Make Your Own frequently, but the other two probably just a couple of times a year. I waited over month to get my order from WSP last year. That's crazy! (and I'm sorry, that is unacceptable) 🤷🏻♀

I like your video. But that a lot of ingredients. How do you set the price to cover COG and profit. The cost of each stick of deodorant got to be set high I imagine.
It really isn't that bad - I don't remember what my markup is (I'm not at my computer) but I do know it isn't one I was too worried about when I adjusted my prices this month. I think I have it around at least 5 x my cost. There are a lot of ingredients so the upfront cost to make it can be high if you don't routinely have them in stock. I have been on my second diatomaceous earth and magnesium powder after maybe 4 years of making them. they last forever
@@charlesedwarddavisjr.6022 I'm not sure if that is a question LOL but I don't mind sharing - my margin is around 80% for the solids and 85% for the balms. I like to be over 80% profit if I can. My candles I can barely break 75% though 🤔
Maybe but cocoa butter is considered a brittle butter and coconut oil is considered a soft oil...it may change the consistency to the point that you may need to increase your liquid oils a bit. My room is so cold that all my butters are pretty much harder than others (it stays around 60- 65 or so all year long)
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique maybe it’s a trick of the camera…but it looks luscious and solid unlike coconut oil which is translucent. I get my virgin coconut oil at Sams or Costco.

Hello Tammy. I love your video. Just for a little correction on your label. Everything is perfect but gram abreviation is g and grain is gm. Only you need to change and then will be perfect. With all my respect. Sorry I don't know if you change this already I am looking your video on August 2023 . We are humans and sometimes happen. Thanks for your nice video.
oh no! I'm so glad you told me this! I actually have always used gr (not gm) but then I went back and watched this and I DID use gm - I don't know, maybe I had a misspell moment and I usually just copy one label and tweak it to make another, and never caught it. THEN - I went and looked at my current deo labels and they ALL have gm on them 🤦♀️so again, I'm very happy you caught that mistake and shared it with me. I'm off to fix my labels now! 😂😂😂

Hello and thank you for this video. The recipe link isn’t working for the recipe.
ok thanks for letting me know! - try this one: www.etsy.com/listing/712666940/diy-natural-deodorant-balm-baking-soda?ref=yr_purchases
(then I though "I can't believe I make something Jill doesn't!) You are becoming my formula Hero 😃
That's crazy about your son, I'm surprised it causes dehydrations, my mind it thinking it would cause an opposite situation...
You def get with me if you have trouble, I can help you for once hehe 💖
Love the video! I was wondering if for the balm you've omitted the cetyl alcohol completely, did you raise the percentages of certain ingredients to make it an even 100%?
Yes I did Nadiah, I am not sure which one(s) that I did though. I know they would have been dry ingredients tho. Hope that helps!😀
Hi Tammy, I just bought the recipe but I’m having a hard time looking for a place to buy all the ingredients. Can you recommend a place please.
Awesome video Tammy🙂 Thank you for always being so positive!! It absolutely makes my day when I watch your videos. Thanks for sharing-Janet
Aww, thanks Janet!!😊🤗
Hi, can you tell me which one you purchased? Could not find a recipe on the first site you mentioned and the 2nd site has quite a few. Thank you!
I believe this one looks right: www.etsy.com/listing/712666940/diy-natural-deodorant-balm-baking-soda?ref=yr_purchases
it has been a number of years and the cover looks different but the ingredient list looks the same - good luck!!!
Hi! If you remove the cetyl alcohol for the balm, do you make up for it in one of the other ingredients for the total percentage remains 100%?
Good Luck!
Where do we find most of the ingredients some I never heard of,great video ☺️thanks.
Hi! I get most of my ingredients from either lotioncrafter.com/ or www.makeyourown.buzz/ -- hope that helps!♥
Where did you order the magnesium powder?
hi there! I got my from Wholesales Supplies Plus - thanks for watching!
Where do you get your blends for EO?
Good Morning! I get them from eocalc.com for the most part. They have so many! I also get them from trusted youtubers that will share what they use
Why can't you use lemongrass in deodorants????
the new guidelines came out a couple of years ago and dropped the safe usage of lemongrass to next to nothing. I can't even use it to make soap anymore 😢
check out eocalc.com - they have a great resource to help you figure out how much is safe to use
I can't find the recipe anywhere. Am i overlooking something ?????
you must be Pam, it is the first link in the description box - thanks for watching!
This looks great, I may have to buy that recipe. Can I ask where do you get your cardboard tubes, and does the oils seep through the tubes?
Hi Lisa! I get them from Etsy - www.etsy.com/listing/504712220/eco-friendly-70-ml-100-pack-deodorant?ref=yr_purchases
This is the lowest price I have found, and no the oils don't seep through at all! Good Luck!!🤗
Thank you! Just found your channel. Great video. Very informative. Love your personality. 🥰
aww, thanks so much Angella!!💖
Thank you for the great video. I have had this recipe for quite awhile and haven’t made it yet. I need to order some o gradients. Curious why you didn’t like the cetyl alcohol. I usually love it. Thanks!
Hi Hilary! I usually love cetyl alcohol too, but I found it made this deodorant too thick for my tastes (in the balm) it is perfect for the solid / stick, but I still lower it a bit I think. Good luck with your making it!
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique Thank you!
Did you add more oil when taking out the cetyl alcohol
Is there anyway to get the recipe for miss Doyle’s spray deodorant? All books are sold out and the link is dead that you posted. TIA.
I would def contact the shop if you still can't download it. good Luck!
Do you have a favorite brand Kraft tubes.
You may have said 🤔
yes, I use these from Etsy - www.etsy.com/listing/504712220/eco-friendly-70-ml-100-pack-deodorant?ref=yr_purchases
I found them to be the least expensive and still really good quality!🤗
Video starts at 2:02. You're welcome.
It takes a lot of paper towel usually but otherwise it takes a ton of water - gotta choose your battles on that one 😆
once I get as much of the balm off the container as I can I then go in with the dawn. even then it can take a couple of washes to get the job done.
thanks for watching and for your kind words! 💕
What is the brand of essential oils you use please?
I don't mind sharing my % - I don't remember what the recipe calls for so I am not sure how much less I use, but I use the cetyl alcohol at 5%
Hope that helps!!
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique yes, it does. Thanks!
What is in the balm that is cooling?
that was my other batch of deodorants. I had one that was solid and one that was the balm.
Thanks for the video. I purchased your deodorant before purchasing the recipe. My label says citric acid. Do you add it to the powders? %? Thank you
The last time I added .5% and it wasn't enough so will go up to 1% and see.
So you hacer any issues with the cardboard tubes in shipping? do the cardboard stain with time on the outside? Thank you :)
Sorry I meant, Have you had any issues with the cardboard tubes? is my first time using them :)
😂😂😂 - I know what you mean - I have done the same thing with her site!
Haha. Your beginning made me smile 🥰
haha - glad you liked it! thank you for watching! 💞
Hi Butterfingers!(17:06) I'm curious, how do you apply the deodorant balm? I have not seen that before? Thanks.
hehehe - you caught that did you?!?!
10 dollars if it works is Worth but I need to know if will work on all
I'm afraid there is simply no way to know if it will work on anyone until they give it a try. Sorry I can't be more help.
Why is lemongrass not skin safe for deodorants?
I can't answer the why of it I'm afraid - I just know that the usage rating went way down with the new IFRA standards (I have a video all about that if you are not aware of what that is)
I had to stop using it to make soap too, as the rating is pretty low. You can still use it but not at the % I like to use in soap
Looks good, but the only problem i have with this is the plastic container. wood or iron and it would have been perfect.
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique thank you! I used Euxyl and it worked out great so far!
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique ok. It makes sense now. Thanks😊
Where do you finfmd the zinc RICINOLEATE

I don't feel alone. lol
aw, thank you for your very kind words!! yes we are certainly in this together LOL
I don't know why the took the recipe down.
(I know what you mean about WSP - I just ordered last week and 2 hours later wanted to add to it
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique WSP also owns Make it your own but different ordering
Would like to combine for ease.
So how do i pay for the recipe ?????

@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique Not giving the exact cost or profit but is there a math formula that shows the out comes. I think it's : COG /?/PROFIT
@@charlesedwarddavisjr.6022 I'm not sure if that is a question LOL but I don't mind sharing - my margin is around 80% for the solids and 85% for the balms. I like to be over 80% profit if I can. My candles I can barely break 75% though 🤔
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique wow thanks for sharing.
Your coconut oil looks like cocoa butter. My coconut oil looks translucent and melts too easy.
Can you use cocoa butter instead of coconut oil?
Maybe but cocoa butter is considered a brittle butter and coconut oil is considered a soft oil...it may change the consistency to the point that you may need to increase your liquid oils a bit. My room is so cold that all my butters are pretty much harder than others (it stays around 60- 65 or so all year long)
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique maybe it’s a trick of the camera…but it looks luscious and solid unlike coconut oil which is translucent. I get my virgin coconut oil at Sams or Costco.
