Review of Incredible 03 Cobra Track Car!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 чер 2018
- The Mustang Cobra was an overbuilt machine. With a supercharger and an iron block, it was a fire hydrant of power waiting for someone to open the tap. Straight line? Of course. But this owner has bolted on a lot of suspension modifications, and takes it to autocross days, track days, and canyon carving.

Will always be one of the best sounding cars ever made.
Urban Outdoorsman #facts
It's the best muscle car ever made.
it8u2 huh?
Jeffrey Rogers it is
It's actually cool to see more auto x and handling oriented builds with terminators lately instead of the typical swap out the IRS for a solid axle drag builds that people have been doing to terminators for the last decade. Beautiful terminator
DannyLlerenaTV #truu the direction that I’m going with mine! I’m trying to be able to stick with the Type R on a road course😅
PJ Morrison It's incredible just how good the FK8 CTR is. Even the regular FK8 civics feel like go karts, Honda nailed that chassis
And here I am thinking about putting an IRS in my mach 1
They do pretty well for auto x, mine really has no handling major handling mods just some good pads and rotors and it's a lot of fun to throw around a course.
DannyLlerenaTV I’ve kept mine irs also and have built the rear end to handle amazing now. I just gotta do the front. But I still like to drag race also I have 620hp currently.
I think every mustang guy at one point fantasizes about having an 03-04 cobra in their garage.
Adam Cooper everyday all day lol
So true Adam!
Adam Cooper truest thing I’ve ever heard, you can’t be a car guy and not fantasize about this car
I’m a full blown GM guy. If I could find a hardtop in competition orange 🍊 for less than a leg it’d be mine
@@BigRockyD every. Day.
Ford needs to shrink the mustang back to this size.
Jeff K I like it at the S197 size but the S550s have a nice, wide kind of stance or presence in the road.
Dude Shark s550 15-17 best looking and performing GT yet. The regular car is boring. But if you get performance pack. You can tell they heavily beta that option for the GT350
Nah Mustang keeps getting sexier.
NEPTUNE117 the 15-17 S550 can't touch the 18 S550 GT when comes to performance and power
You can have the same wide stance and body panel ratios in a smaller size like the s197 had. That's what Jeff K was meaning I think.
I would choose a Teminator cobra over a 2018 gt anyday!!!!
Come on dude lets be real. The Terminator cobra is one of my dream car, but you'd take a 15 year old car over one that's way newer with WAY more features and power?
You can make terminators 1000hp not much u can do to a 2018 GT unless u supercharge it
@@cadenb1682 lmao..so you know that you can easily make these new gen coyotes do the same right?
IamFreeSpirited yes? Once you supercharge em like i said
Dan// ya lol
These things just have the BEST supercharger noises, bar none. Love it!
Troggie42 maybe a hellcat could beat it just on a crazy whine level but this was definitely the hellcat of it’s day
Agree.
Always liked this body style growing up early 2000's not the best in mustang design yet just grew on me.
Chile Mexia as far as mustangs go, it’s not quite as distinctive as a mustang but it’s a very beautiful car on it’s own. Especially when you do a few little things to them they really look amazing
I remember these coming out in late '98 and not liking them as much as the original SN95s but over time I grew to like them more and more.
Well the s550 would be the closest relative as far as looks go
Oh man I graduated hs in 04 and I remember these terminators were the kings of the road. The supercharger whine is intoxicating!
Eric Sade so your 32 now tight right how's life hope all is well
Matt was replaced by a lower mileage model.
Mike Morris 😂
Mike Morris yeah but it's a small displacement low-pressure turbo
LMAO
Zack is becoming a stronger and stronger presenter everyday. This review is great!
What did you watch? Guys a tool
This is a really clean build. Much respect to the owner.
Cars are being wayyyy overpowered. Strongly agree that 480 whp is plenty
Mickey Woods lol aka C7 Z06 my dream car but damn you literally never have to touch the power plant 😍
I have an '04 Terminator. I was at a Ford Dealer last week, having a repair performed. A Salesman drooled over the car the entire time it was there. He offered to buy it from me (!), but I told him it isn't for sale. He told me that he had one, and put a 3.5LTR Whipple on it. It was putting out 780HP at the wheels!!
I miss my 03 Cobra. Those cars road so nice with the IRS suspension compared to any other mustang and held the power. The body imo is timeless.
LOL you want a nice ride get a freaking Crown Vic the thing should slam you around a little
I would love to own a sonic blue terminator in the future. One of the best colors next to comp orange and mystichrome
The Slow Show I live them in black, they look absolutely menacing!
Comp orange is dope
It is but you get use to it and eventually want more
Sonic blue was my fav 03 cobra
I have an ‘04 GT, I know the Cobra is leaps and bounds above my car. Yet the platform is similar, and this makes me feel really inspired to keep my car and build it to something to be even similar to this. I’ve done lowering springs, adjustable struts and shocks, caster camber plates, and 4:10 gears and man my little GT is super impressive. Seeing this, makes me feel like I haven’t wasted my time or money on my little GT. Great job on the build, makes me want to finish my car with a coyote swap, IRS, and just a little more. I have a convertible, but I know I can make my car competitive against this at the very least. Great video, great build, can’t wait to continue my project now!
If anyone wants to find the video he's talking look up "snakebite cobra" not black snake lol... it has over 6 million views now and it's badass.
Yup I would watch it with my cousin every day loved snake bite
This car is on point, and that noise!! Great review Zack.
uuuh that Porsche in the beginning looked awesome! hope you did a one take with it too.
Sounds amazing.
what is that noise? the high pitched noise?
Jamie Ross Supercharger whine.
LOL that's your wallet being squeezed
Absolutely love these cobras! The whine is incredible! Never gets old!!
Car sounds amazing!
I love cars focused on handling. instead of going huge turbo like everyone else does I went with one that gives me a shit ton of torque upfront with boost tapering down by redline. I been to the canyons on 91knocktane fuel and punching out of turns with the tires clawing feels so satisfying.
I appreciate the intro. Good work on the video too.
snakebite cobra? I still to this day revisit that video!
Gotta love another Terminator bro! I have mine on my channel with not as many mods but just the right amount of sound lol👍🏽
That same video hooked me "Snakebite 2.2"! Very nice Terminator, and great video!
I'm picking up a triple black '04 cobra soon with a lot of the same mods and horsepower, man after seeing this I'm going crazy waiting. Nice care dude, and good video
Great attention balanced performance, this makes motivated to finish mine, it’s great switch from drag only modern muscle cars!!!
Sack sounds like Michael Scott “starting a sentence and not knowing where it’ll go” lol
Been waiting for an 03-04 cobra video.
Now there's two!
@@TheSmokingTire I love and I am so happy to finally find my 04 torch red Terminator Just 29hundred original miles.
Awesome car, love the Grunt Style shirt brother.
My eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the bro, impeccable timing with RCR's last video
Glad you liked the Terminator Cobra Zach!
This sounds sooooooo good. That exhaust note and blower whine mmmmmmmmm
The video was called snakebite cobra. It was a Kenny bell cobra. Same video that made me want a cobra when I was 17. Finally got one last year
Great review Zack.
This car was ridiculously clean!
Twas.
Jason Litman yeah it wad
Supercharged mustang is just the way to go sounds so good
agree this thing has great wheels tires and stance.
Earned a new subscriber 🔥👍🏽
Our Retrofit Headlights looking great!
Very good looking mustang for this generation. I have a rousche supercharged this gen for litteraly 8 hours when I fell asleep and wrecked it
The mods list is as long as Bob Loblaw’s Law Blog!
Props for having 3 03/04 Cobras on the channel, but you guys really need to get a properly modified example up on here. Something with a 2.9 or 3.4 blower that's pushing 650+ to the tire. While it'd be a lot for the canyons, the straight line power will stand out for sure.
cool review !
I am fortunate enough to have a 03 white Terminator 650rwhp and a 08 Mustang Super Snake 680rwhp. Both are equally fun to drive and I will keep them both forever. That 5 years makes a difference but you can not go wrong with either. Men like Carroll Shelby and John Coletti knocked it out of the park with these amazing American muscle cars.
Where’s Matt? Did I miss something? Nice Terminator btw
Yes, you did. :) ua-cam.com/video/dY9_n5lbkVw/v-deo.html
Matt's not doing the smoking tire anymore
Who's Matt?
I dunno about smoking tires, but Matt's definitely smoking something
Matt had a terrible accident. He lost track of time while powdering his balls because he didn't have his Vincero watch on, and looked up to see where the sun was, forgetting that he wasn't wearing his Dylan Optics sunglasses, and blinded himself.
Black Snake video was legendary
so hot, bro
Cool build!
gawd, i miss my old sonic terminator. I need another one!
Liked and subbed, Also a owner of one of these, The terminator really likes to be punished :D
I remember watching that same youtube video! It had a bad ass and made me want one of these cobras and still till this day!
Oh! And the Video is called "Snakebite cobra" Enjoy!
Very well done. These cars are pretty fast stock. Another 100 hp probably feels pretty good.
I remember that old video of the black cobra doing a burnout. That and alot of other badass kenne bell cars. I love cobras
Zack killin it with another one take!
This guy did a great job with the mustang
Lol the video hes talking about is the Snakebite Cobra; I still watch that video occasionally just makes me smile, the thing sounds amazing.
The new guy seems cool but I was kinda hoping for the first a Terminator to be done by Matt lol
Jovan Fiel Matt did a stock one a couple years back. I was the first terminator Matt drove but he had a hard drive failure so no one ever saw it. That was when my car was stock. I have a pic with Matt too to prove I’m not lying
I’ve had my 03 supercharged mustang for 8 years now with 90,000 kms on it. Love the car to death but I always dream of being a 04 cobra owner one day.
Snakebite ! I will never get tired of that cobra
This car was a factory pro touring car with the IRS in the rear, and I'd rather see SVT Cobra's being driven in this manner showing its full potential instead of drag racing. Screw solid rear axle swaps. The SVT Terminator Cobra was truly ahead of its time.
I like how Matt leaves all the slower cars to this kid.
Imminent ...1. Not Slow 2.Matt has literally driven several sub100hp cars on the show...
Just out of curiosity, what are the pros and cons of running a dual spring and coilover set up the way he does? I've never heard of this before, usually guys either have all 4 coilovers or vice versa
omg it's manual! well done Zack
“SnakeBite” was the video of the car he’s referring to
Love these so much.
Matt not a big new edge fan..I love them.
Love this car!! What wheels are those???
I have a 16 gt performance pack and I'm jealous. sweet ride! I debate with myself which I should have bought and I often regret not getting the terminator 😡.
Chris L thats what kept me from getting one. same with the supra. awesome cars but with their age usually comes problems. so unless you have money for repairs it's a hard choice. I just wish superchargers didn't cost an arm and a leg on the new ones.
Chris L I love my 16 gt performance pack alot especially with it having a warranty still. I could have bought a terminator out right as I put 20k down on my 16 gt to keep payments super low but i wanted something reliable and capable of road trips without stress of breaking down and wearing me out. I've driven a few terminators and they're super fun but they wear you out after awhile. I've done bolton's on my gt and they definitely woke the car up but they lack some torque that the terminators have. supercharger will fix that but at the moment 10k installed by Ford to keep my warranty is more than I want to spend for now.
Nice mustang.
I love this shape of Mustang
The first mustang to get me to like ford. The actual sports car for many.
NEPTUNE117 I was a Foxbody guy I don't like these I bang my elbows on the console on the door I have to put my hand on the ground in order to get out of them and you can't see in traffic
The terminator is a classic. Clean ass cobra.
Could you drive a 190E 2.3 / 2.5 16v? Would love to see that.
Is he referring to the Snake Bite cobra video back in the day?
so when are the real one takes coming back?
When this car came out I had a 1995 Mustang GT. The then current Mustang GT was much quicker. And the LS engine was the boss. The LS1 Camaros and Trans Ams we’re dominating the streets and the strips. This 2003 Cobra came out and changed absolutely everything. The entire car industry changed. I fell in love. Ever since then, 15 years ago, this has been my dream car. It was breathtaking back then and it is still relevant even today. Two years ago I finally bought one. And i am in love with her.
The Cobra is completely streetable. I was daily driving it for about a year. Even drove it in the snow once. It’s a very comfortable daily driver.
They aren’t cheap. They hold their value. If money is no issue then I’d totally get one. You’ll be glad you did. The only other new edge I’d get is the Mach 1. The 2V GT would leave me wanting too much more.
For just a few thousand more you can get a Cobra with similar mileage. I'd highly recommend it if you are already looking at spending about 16k. I paid about 20k for my 03 Cobra two years ago and it had about 25k miles.
I wouldn't worry TOO much about the reliability. These cars are about as reliable as you help them be. If you take care of them and maintain them properly they don't offer many problems.
When I bought my 15 year old low mileage car I immediately changed the fluids, the filters, the spark plugs and the belts. Things that can cause a lot of problem with age. Most everything else was like new. The only other thing would be the tires. As they can dry rot and flat spot if old and not driven often.
Whatever you get....you'll enjoy it. But get an 03/04 Cobra. :)
I loved your fake snarky comment Zack. “My twin turbo ls”. HAHAHA. Also NASTY WHINE OMG. Great video
VMP makes a sick Supercharger for Shelley gt500 you should find out if they can fit on your motor
This is one of the best cars you can drive!
The video was Snake Bite, and it is my earliest UA-cam memory as well. Blew my FN mind
DAMN! HOLY SHIT! Awsome Car :-)
So Zack, how long till you get a Terminator? That was an excellent example!
ConemantheBarbarian was?
.......is........
Sounds so good
VMP gen 3 instead of the Kenne Bell
What kind of mcloud clutch did you put in it . I have a 99 cobra and looking to replace my soft clutch with a stiffer one
Charlie D'Alleva super street
Jake Herrmann thanks man!!!!!
Charlie D'Alleva actually it’s the street extreme had to look it up handles up to 700hp
You guys needs to get into a KB, whipple or VMP blower car and see these cars can really do. I got one for ya :)
I’m sure if he does the Maximum Motorsports solid steering shaft it would help a lot with the steering wheel talk
Ideal size for the Mustang is SN95. Fox as well.
for a 15 year old car, it makes awesome power for only a few thousand $$ invested. That Pony can make even another 200 RWHP with another few thousand invested. All that an a car that is holding value very well. At the end of the day, it's not just a Cobra...It's a Terminator.
Damn that's cleannnnn
What headlights are those with the led line on it
quarawlis stafford swlights
Back in 03 when the terminator came out nothing was fucking with the terminator. My 04 Torch red cobra that I just bought with just 29hundred original miles. Yes less than 3 thousand miles on the car and I am lowering it and doing full exhaust with long tubes pullied and a tune and if it makes 400hp to the tire that will be fine.If I want to go really fast I have 3 car's that will do that easy.My 650hp 427 convertible super snake a 850hp 08 gt500 and my monster my 900hp 2010 grabber blue super snake.Stock for stock there isn't many cars that my shelbys can't handle. But anyway nice terminator
White is the other color I would have gotten; I need to get me a aux idler and port my blower. Funny he has a chip in his window just like mine lol
Nice Cobra...needs a Whipple and 3.73 rear! BTW, what kind of Corbeau seats are those?
tominator corbeau A4 and yes something power wise will be added soon not sure yet looking at my options.
Jake...I'm a big guy too so that's why I asked about the seats...thanks! BTW- I have a Silver Metallic 03 Cobra with a Whipple 2.3L, 3 inch upper pulley, 4lb lower, T56 Magnum trans w/ McLeod RXT clutch, car makes about 650 whp. But the thing that REALLY woke my car up was the 3.73 ratio rear! I eat hellcats for breakfast. Hope that helps you Jake....good luck! Tom
tominator thanks man, I’m 6”8 so the seat and rail are lowered 1” and goes 2” back further than stock I got them from racing seats USA. You recommend 3.73s with over 600rwhp huh?
Jake...Yes, but the Pirelli tires on the rear have to go if you want to hook up. I have 315/17 Mickey Thompsons with the Full Tilt Boogie IRS bushing kit & brace. Cobra is also lowered with Bilstein B8 self-adjusting struts & shocks which are purpose made for lowered cars. They are expensive but effective! I leave the line at 4K rpms, burn about five feet of rubber with NO wheelhop whatsoever. Car is a beast out of the hole! Something about the 3.73s that just bring the Cobra to life. And with the double overdrive 5th & 6th gears you still can get great mileage...if you can stop NAILING IT! lol
tominator had the R888s on it but I couldn’t get them again because they were back ordered so the Pirellis were actually a good compromise because the R888 are only good in the best conditions, I have the M.M. irs bushings, a arm bushings, coil overs all the way around now, steering shaft as well since the show and ford racing diff cover for the rear it hooks up well
Respect the Terminator
Did anyone else find it hard focusing on anything other than the black speck on the windshield?
I would choose this over any s197 or s550
I remember that video it had a 2.3 kennebell
God I love these cars
