The torx screws that retain the outer fairing to the inner fairing, along with the 3 screws for the windshield are T27, not T25. T25, though it might work for a bit, will eventually round out, and become demolished. Good video.
Don’t be afraid!! Installed this on my Road Glide. Got the drop in kit from FHC and it was a very simple install. Intimidating at first if you’ve never removed your fairing before, as I hadn’t, but I had the fairing off in 5 minutes. Love the head unit so far.

It would be a great help if u can do a video on tuning the Sony7000 and the Fosgate speaker set up u offer. A walkthrough in getting it timed properly. Also there is no disc, it might help if you had a resource for the tuning tomes
Got my 7000 last week and installed it. I followed Cliffs step by step instructions on the 5000 install (exactly the same). Had 2 issues.....the Speaker cables from Harley have the stab on connectors backwards . You have to cut them off and Put new ones on.......solid color wire should be the large stab on. Striped wire (ground) should be the small stab on. Second issue was the side speaker pod 3 bolts.....they are a bitch. Lol This is an awsome system and extremely loud system! I recommend it to everyone!

louie .....2019 electra glide standard I bought the complete plug and play kit......if you bought the just the radio, get hold of Fat head cycles and get the plug in kit and speakers if u dont have them. It’s all plug and play. No need to be cutting And splicing wires........if you haven’t installed the radio u just bought, send it back and get the complete kit

Hi I got this and installed as video showed on my 2017 Triglide...and programed the thumb controls as instructed. Functioned check all capabilities and set everything up. Next day I go out and turn bike on...stereo won't come on. I disassembled the faring and check all connections. I unplugged the power connector....check the pins and they are all good. I plugged it back in and radio come back on. Next day...went to start bike...radio won't come back on. Please advise....is it the radio or my ECM needing to be flashed?

Nice deck. I just wish they were waterproof or water resistant. Sony does not warranty it if it get water damage. One day someone will make an aftermarket that is marine rated!!

Meaning, the current usb female connector is behind the flip-up door throttle side. If I replace the cable with the 7000's USB1 cable, and my phone is mounted to my bars, will I Have to leave the door up for the phone cable to connect to the 7000's cable? Even though I won't need to see the screen on my phone for Nav, there are other apps I'd like to have access to while riding. Thanks for any insight!

Just installed this unit on my pop's bike. It does not have a GPS, navigation and most other functions must come from your phone. Break your phone and your left with Glorified FM radio. Also it is touch screen but has a row of buttons across the bottom. While trying to set it up I would have to use these hard to read buttons because no one screen buttons would bring me out of the page I was on. Not water proof as you can see from other videos and much less functionality than many other 100-250$ units
I noticed that they only program one toggle for volume and other controls so dose the right side control become dead? If so is there a delete or sponging for it?
louie call fathead and tell them ur issue......that Sony radio is a universal radio for cars and harleys.....FHC puts the Harley kit together themselves so sounds like u got just a radio thats set up to hardwire into cars

It would have been helpful for FHC to include those lines coming out of the radio since the pins should physically be there. If you look at the original manual for car installations (google AX7000 manual) they have front and rear out. When mine comes in Ill have to figure out a way to tap into the connection. Also it doesn't appear FHC is supporting questions on here since 6 months back.
Hello! If I go with this solution on a 2020 Electra Glide Standard what else would be necessary to wire in Lower fairing speakers and then rear speaker mounted in the bag lids. Is there a HD harness or would I need to have it manufactured (or do it myself)?
I don't think they are monitoring this channel anymore. The wiring harness only supports front speakers but the pins on the radio have front and rear out. I presume they are not pinned in the FHC harness. It should be possible to connect to the output pins for the rear channel and take advantage of the 100w output instead of using an amp with the pre-amp connectors. FHC???
I should have never bought the 5000. Piece of junk. Its not water proof. Got caught in heavy rain and the radio malfunction and blew out my speakers cause the volume maxed out. Wasted my money.

After you install this radio and the Rockford Fosgate stage 3 speakers, would you still have to flash the bike to change the EQ for the speakers?

My local Sony rep says that they will warranty the unit if it does mess up due to water. They claim it's waterproof enough for a motorcycle.

No. It is not water proof or water resistant. Warranty on owners manual states to not get it wet or it voids warranty.

Buy the 7000 and not the 5000. my 5000 got a little sprinkle of rain and destroyed the unit. Warrantee was good and i upgraded to the 7000
